Those were the fraction of insults and harassment Jane received during her attendance at the self-proclaimed, "pious", all-female, St. Joseph's High School, in the heart of downtown Brooklyn. While the Catholic School boasts spirituality, holiness, and chase femininity, in reality, crudeness, slander, hypocrisy, and depravity roam the halls.
For four years, Jane underwent verbal abuse, castigation, sexual harassment, humiliation and trauma, from not only the student body, but also from the sanctimonious instructors, who sadistically engaged in the psychological and mental torture of one student. Was it Jane's buxom body, that she was shy of, or her quiet demeanor, or was it her avoidance of the raucous, obscene students? Either way, Jane's unjustified treatment resulted in this exposé of this satanic, abusive, pedagogue.
I’m not sure I would have came across this book if it wasn’t for Goodreads Giveaways, this is my honest opinion.
Anonymous Jane, your story had me in tears. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to hear what this woman went through during her Jr. High and High School years. It’s absolutely disgusting that so many adults could contribute to a child’s mental health in such a negative way with no one even seeing it, acknowledging it, or even caring enough to stand up for an innocent adolescent!
a childhood filled with abuse and neglect is the setting of foundation of addiction, mental illness, perpetuating of the crimes. if one is able to rise above and go forth into the world causing no harm to others(including self)--that's the true sign of strength grace power! i believe there's a special place in Heaven for us souls.
