Author Eliss Kacey’s debut novel, See More of Your Friends, takes a topic that can often be deep and complex between couples and makes it into a relatable, humorous story. The two characters, Jules and Eric, who are married, decide to do an experiment, which opens up so much more than they anticipate about their wants and needs about themselves and each other. And by doing this experiment, they wonder whether this will impact their relationship positively or negatively.

I like Eliss Kacey’s writing style. The challenges the couples face as they stumble through their emotions, questioning whether they should even be feeling what they are, are very real. Overall, I found See More of Your Friends well-written and enjoyable.

When I began reading this book, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it quickly surpassed any initial hesitation. Right from the start, the authentic dialogue and relatable scenarios drew me in completely. The characters are wonderfully human, displaying both strength and vulnerability in ways that felt incredibly genuine.
I was delighted to discover humor woven throughout, including an unforgettable moment involving a pet that made me laugh out loud. Equally impactful were the heartfelt moments that beautifully illustrated the complexity of emotions and relationships, leaving a lasting impression.
Ultimately, this book is a thoughtful celebration of self-discovery and the power of honest communication. I found myself feeling uplifted and deeply appreciative of its genuine portrayal of human connections. By the final page, I was left inspired and warmly satisfied, glad to have experienced such a heartfelt story.

This is the conversation that needs to be happening. Eliss Kacey says the quiet part out loud. What an extraordinary novel. The weighty issues wrested with are balanced beautifully with the author’s brilliant funny voice. Peopled with characters you know (at least one which, you will find, you ARE), this book is an unflinching look at how love evolves in our relationships, and how complicated are own reactions are to that change. I love these characters, and clearly so does the author. Read this book now . It’s a sophisticated, empathic, funny, very sexy (!) journey. What a welcome addition to my library.

This book has enthralled me since about page ten and constantly left wondering how the story would play out for not just one couple in this book...but all of them. Told with one of the most powerful third person omniscient narrators I have read in a long time, the narrator takes on a voice and role that became a fully developed character in my mind. I literally mean every character spoke to me with their own voice. With character motivations as real as the lives they each led, this is not a book for the faint of heart. This book holds up a mirror to life today and reflects it back to you in a way that shows life with all its fears & insecurities, bitter & sweet moments, as well as joys & sorrows. It is a life that leaves you with wrinkles, scabs, and scars but leaves you knowing that with love and friendship you will always shine in the end.

This book really makes you think about your own relationships—I kept finding myself nodding along and highlighting parts that said exactly what I’ve felt but couldn’t put into words. The author nails those tricky relationship moments we all feel but rarely talk about. Plus, the supporting characters are awesome. Beth is hands-down my favorite fictional friend—everyone needs a Beth!

Book Tour: See More of Your Friends by Eliss Kacey. Thank you for the gifted copy, Eliss and Kate Rock Book Tours.

“Would you, could you, touch anyone else, be touched by anyone else, love anyone else, like you do with me?’

Love is so many things. See More of Your Friends is a candid look at what happens when you’re honest with your feelings and bold enough to take a chance. What it’s like to explore your deepest desires. How fulfilling it is to be seen. Yet how messy it can be, even with the best of intentions. A realistic, unrestrained, unconventional example of modern love and marriage.

4.5 ⭐️ rounded down

Jules and Eric are a happily married couple, but they want a bit more out of their relationship. So, they decide to "experiment" or shall I say step outside the the "box." I admit I was a bit hesitant at first going into this novel as I just wasn't vibing with it, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. It's a true testament of how we grow and change over time as a person and in our relationships. I loved how Jules and Eric openly communicated as a couple because many couples don't do this. This novel was fun, sexy, and so relevant with many relationships in today's realm of relationships.

Incredibly addictive and readable, this was a sexy, thought-provoking, and emotional look at intimate relationships.

I became engrossed in these characters and their relationships. While the story primarily focused on the dynamics of exploring or experimenting outside the bounds of a committed relationship, I enjoyed the friend group and how they supported each other.

This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. It offers an honest and compassionate look at diverse and non-traditional relationships. The author fearlessly portrayed the complications and messiness of these relationships, showing that feelings are always involved. The result is a journey of self-discovery filled with pain, anger, jealousy, and love.

The book beautifully highlights the importance of trust, acceptance, and communication in any relationship. These themes are woven throughout - I had to stay up late to find out who ended up together.

Thank you @katerockbooktours and @elisskacey for this gifted book and fun book swag.

See More of Your Friends by Eliss Kacey

See More of Your Friends is smart, funny, and totally unfiltered in the best way. Jules and Eric seem like they've got it all figured out—until one conversation flips everything upside down. What follows is a wild, emotional, and seriously sexy ride through love, identity, and figuring out what you actually want. Kacey dives straight into the messy stuff—jealousy, awkward moments, big feelings—and makes it all feel real without ever getting too heavy. It’s bold, honest, and way more relatable than you’d expect. The characters feel like people you know, and their stories stick with you. I stayed up way too late needing to know how it all shook out. Definitely a standout debut.

Thank you @katerockbooktours and @elisskacey for the #gifted book. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is a fantastic debut novel by Eliss Kacey.

I loved the topic of a healthy relationship being with more than just your significant other. All of the characters played a big part in Jules and Eric's story. A lot of books have the description of "laugh out loud' and I really did with this book. I so look forward to future works from Eliss Kacey and am honored to have been able to review and share her debut novel.

Thank you for the copy, this is my honest opinion. Please be aware of any trigger warnings, as your mental health is most important.

This is as humanly as it gets. It is the modern day version of relationship and reality that makes up the most vulnerable and equivocally important part of the society today. Jules and Eric are what we see today with content, chagrin, humor and love. I enjoyed all the funny, real, complex, unexpected and desirable dialogues and discussions. It is scary because I myself have pondered some of the discussions that were brought up in this book, like the whys and how-so. Well, I’m grateful that this book is absolutely entertaining and amazing to read while pages fly by.
