Love is the difference between surviving and living. Kerry never thought she would be starting over single and in a new state, but the only guarantee in life is that there are no guarantees. When her marriage ended before it had a chance to begin, she realized it was time for a change. So, she took a travel nursing job to get out of her comfort zone and try something new. After exchanging words with a cocky young doctor at her newest placement, she expects him to be nothing more than an enemy. Chance puts them in the same room together and sparks fly when it turns out he’s nothing like she imagined. Unfortunately, she’s due to leave the state soon for her next assignment.
Seth works long hours as a staff physician at the local hospital. His schedule never allows for much free time, so when a friend invites him out for drinks, he accepts. The last person he expects to see is the nurse who told him off for being careless. The nurse he hasn’t stopped thinking about ever since. After spending time getting to know her over drinks, he isn’t quite ready to let the night end. He isn’t one to sleep around, but there’s no ignoring his attraction to Kerry. In the daylight, Kerry thinks it best if they leave the night behind them, but will Seth be able to let her go that easily?
I'm a bookworm. My family teases me because I'll even read a book while I watch TV. Watching the game? Yup, I'm reading during the commercials.
Writing started off as a hobby. I would write what I wanted to read. When I was younger, I thought it was fun to write better versions of my favorite books... it all went well until the epic smut I wrote was discovered and I got grounded for two weeks. Now I can't get grounded anymore :)
Calls of Need is such a sweet (and spicy) book! It's a great read, especially if you're looking for a short read! Ashley did a great job at making sure the romance felt fully developed even though the story is short. Thank you Ashley for letting me read this!!!! I can't wait to read more!
This was a short but sweet read. I love a good workplace romance then add in medical and I'm hooked. I thought the story and the characters were well written. I had a good time reading this book and was hooked from the beginning until the end.
Kerry needed a fresh start so she decided to be a traveling nurse and has landed in Chicago, IL. I loved that I could picture where she is because I'm less then 2 hours from Chicago. When she arrives at the job things don't go exactly as planned.
Seth works long hours as a physician at the hospital and never has free time to do anything. When a friend asks him out for drinks and he actually goes the last person he expected to see was the new travel nurse Kerry.
These two definitely had chemistry and I loved getting to know them. I had so many moments that I was swooning and smiling. This book also gave me a few laughs and had me blushing. I would definitely recommend this book and if you haven't read anything from Ashley before I highly recommend Bryce and Logan!
Thank you Ashley Willow for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
Calls of Need by Ashley Willow is a medical romance with a proximity trope and uses a bit of enemies to lovers. It is also a part of three interconnected books but can be read as standalones. The books are relatively short at a bit over one hundred pages but contain complete stories. Looking for a new start after the breakup of her marriage, Kerry has taken a job as a traveling nurse. She has made one good friend in Chicago but is looking forward to her next hospital experience. Seth is an dedicated but overworked doctor and when he clashes with Kerry, sparks fly but she sees him as just another arrogant physician. Nothing could be further from the truth; Seth is kind, attentive, and someone worth knowing! But how can he overcome Kerry’s initial impression of him as well as the fact that she is leaving soon? This book was easy to read and even easier to like; Kerry and Seth made a great couple, and I enjoyed how honest they were as they tried to give their relationship a fighting chance. This book is the first one I have read by this author, but I intend to check out the rest of the series. https://theretiredreader.com/f/calls-...
Calls of Need by Ashley Willow is a sweet romcom type of romance. Where the MMC is a doctor, the FMC is a nurse. They have an interesting meeting at work. Fate keeps throwing them together. I enjoyed this short Rom Com book very much. I love how the characters came together and worked out their different schedules. The way he shows her how much he loves her by the actions he takes is dream worthy!
This is a short, sweet, but spicy romance. Nook shows as 108 pages. It is a very sweet quick read. I really liked the characters and their interactions. The FMC is a beautiful, strong, independent woman. The MMC is successful, dedicated, and so sweet (but not the marshmallow type). Even though it is a short story I didn’t feel like there were any missing pieces to the developing romance.
This book was so cute! I loved the writing style Ashley used in it. As someone in the medical field, I love reading books that center around that. A nurse meeting a doctor in a cute way? Yes please! This book contains spice, some drama, and such a good love story. Thank you for allowing me to be part of reading this. I enjoyed it!
Do any real life Seth type men exist? Bc holy hell! I need one! Kerry is by far my favorite FMC in this series. She’s fierce, she’s smart, she’s passionate about her job, and man is she feisty! She deserves all the love, patience, and support Seth gives her. Her story made me laugh, cry, and say “hell yes!”
🌟🌟🌟🌟 Kerry is a travel nurse wanting to explore and go where the job takes her, which is to Chicago, where she meets Seth. I loved the comfortable flow between Seth and Kerry and the pace of the book. The chemistry was 🔥🔥🔥
