The Delta Crossroads Trilogy by Stacy Green is a fabulous series. In the opening novel, Tin God, we are introduced to Jaymee Ballard, Nick Samuels, and police detective Cage Foster. Set in the sweltering heat of the Mississippi Delta town of Roselea, Jaymee and Nick try to solve a series of murders. In the second book, Skeleton’s Key, Nick and Jaymee meet Dani Evans, a Yankee woman who specializes in restoring antebellum homes. The trio finds themselves enmeshed in much more than cobwebs and peeling paint as they encounter dead bodies and hidden treasure. In the final installment, Ashes and Bone, when Nick goes missing in a storm, Jaymee and Dani start digging to find out what might have happened to Nick. In each of these thrillers, Ms. Green mixes in a dash of romance with some danger, plenty of drama, and multiple layers to unravel.
Stacy Green is a tremendous storyteller. She blends Southern history with believable characters and tension-filled plots that make her books addicting. You’ll want the boxed set so that you can pick right up again after finishing the previous book. After that, well, I guess there’s the Delta Detectives Series, which is next on my Stacy Green list!
