XES : Why Church Girls Tend To Get It Backwards...And How To Get It Right

Rate this book
"Great sex is less about how you position your pelvis and more about how you position your heart"

Ever wonder why Christians seem to get left out of the "fun sex" loop?
And what if God actually intended Christians to have the best sex ever?

In a society where it seems sex is talked about everywhere but within the four walls of the church, and where it seems to be sizzling everywhere except the marriage bed, it appears we may have a problem on our hands.

With her signature warmth and transparency, Joy takes on the myths and mysteries of sex and marriage within the Christian subculture.

Through the lens of raw faith, and with the compassion of one who’s tasted the shame and regret of sexual brokenness, Joy sets out to debunk some of the lies we believe, expose truth we may have missed and, with refreshing candor straight from the trenches of motherhood, she encourages us to wholeheartedly pursue God’s best for our marriages.

You’ll discover...
• Why sex is under attack and what you can do to fight back
• How the church has unknowingly misrepresented God’s heart on sex
• How to cultivate a safe environment to speak openly about sex with your spouse
• Why carving out time for intimacy, even when you’re not in the mood, has the potential to transform your marriage and improve your overall well-being
• Practical ideas & helpful resources to take your intimacy to the next level

In the pages of this book Joy comes alongside you, like a trusted friend, and shares her heart about marriage and what happens in the bedroom! She talks honestly about all the junk we bring to the marriage bed when two imperfect people spend their life together. Joy bravely weaves her own stories of brokenness throughout the pages as she continually directs our focus to the Creator and mastermind behind the whole universe, including this idea of marriage and intimacy. The words in this book will lovingly and boldly guide you to let go of anything that's holding you back from truly unlocking the beautiful, fun, steamy marriage we all truly desire. Your husbands will probably want to send her a thank note after your done reading...and so will you!

As a single female, I wasn't sure if this book would be at all applicable to my life. Wow, was I wrong! Joy is candid and so honest. She discusses marriage, sex, and God in a truthful yet funny way. This book is amazing! It is such a quick read; I finished it in one night. This book had many, many important truths and pearls that I will be taking with me for the rest of my life, even if I never get married. Joy used scripture, science, and other books with great skill. I loved how honest she was in telling her story. I will be reading this book again and recommending it to all of my female friends!

Joy writes a real and honest book about what Christian women need to understand about sex--and how we need to be intentional if we're going to experience all that God has to offer in marriage. And why would we want to miss that?!?

An easy-to-read book, with lots of great stories, Joy delves into why we often avoid sex, why we're sometimes scared of it, and a lot of the relational obstacles to great sex (including mommyhood!)

My favourite part was when she shared her touching story--and I have to admit I shared a tear or two.

Real, honest love of God and marriage on every single page. Joy uncovers a topic that is all too often hidden between the sheets. She explores the deep intimacy of marriage, as it is intended by God and revealed through scripture, with humor, transparency and vulnerability. Her witty approach and "real talk" will have you rolling with laughter...and rolling in the hay.
