A surfing accident brought them back together. Only obedience to God can guarantee their happily ever after.
Dana
Taking on the role of a “Christian influencer” should have pushed me deeper into my relationship with Jesus, but instead, it brought more questions. Especially when it came to finding love. I shouldn’t have felt like a spinster at twenty-four but as the self-proclaimed Last Bachelorette Standing, I wondered if my desire for a husband was truly from God.
Then Rhett Stryker--the gorgeous guy who ghosted me--literally washed onto my shore and threw me for the biggest plot twist of my life.
Rhett
Waking up with memory loss was jarring, to say the least. Yet even without my missing memories, I knew Dana Swann--the beautiful woman who rescued me--was someone special. She claimed we were just a fling, but flings don’t produce the deep connection we shared. More than anything, I wanted to prove to her we were more.
Then when my memories returned, including the huge secret I kept from her, I realized there was no piecing together the shattered remains of our delicate relationship.
Will Rhett and Dana claim their forever? Or will Rhett’s deception tear them apart for good?
Tawni is a Christian wife and mother, living life to the fullest with her family. She’s been writing since she could pick up a pencil which was also when God instilled a passion for storytelling into her heart. Every story she writes contains a guaranteed happily ever after. Real life has no guarantees of happiness, but she can control her fictional worlds. Sort of. Her characters like to take her on several roller coaster rides of uncertainties, daily. When she’s not writing, she’s tending to the house, playing with her kids, or on those rainy, lazy days, curled up with a good book and cup of coffee (probably with too much creamer.) As much as she loves telling love stories between a man and woman, she hopes you discover the ultimate love story of Jesus. Her goal with each book is to show her readers the fulfillment of what having a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ is like.
Book #20 of 2025: I enjoyed the first book in this series and I enjoyed this one. Actually, even a little more. I highlighted several passages, both the humorous and the spiritual truths.
Dana definitely didn't have the best of luck in the romance department, but in the end she saw that it's about God's timing and bringing the right person at the right time. The author's purpose or intention behind this book shines through: God has a plan for each woman in regard to love but fulfillment In Jesus is first.
Rhett made a lot of mistakes in his past that he felt defined him and followed him. He came to learn that there is freedom in Christ, not guilt and shame.
My only two 'negatives' are not huge but they're still worth mentioning: (1) I am not a fan of the illustrated covers. I much preferred the original and unique cover of the first book and I had hoped the second book would go with that one. The illustrated books, especially with no faces, just don't fit romance for grown women, in my opinion. The market is so full of them. I don't care for the blank faces ever. (2) My second issue is the nickname Rhett had for Dana - Little Siren. A siren is one who promotes lust and temptation; therefore it doesn't fit this Christian story. I honestly would not want a man to associate me with that word. I'm sure that wasn't the view the author had but I wanted to be honest in how I saw it.
This novel made me smile, encouraged me, and made me tear up. It particularly spoke to me through Dana's struggle to come out of her dry spell with the Word. I remember in Bible College how I worried that the Bible could become another textbook. And sometimes it did feel that way, unfortunately. I still have moments where I feel my attitude isn't right and my approach isn't either. God is always there. We are the ones not listening, having misplaced motivations, and neglecting praise.
I..wow..I am speechless! This book..this book I tell you. Dana’s journey spoke to me, and there were moments where I felt as if what I was reading was specifically for me. This story is so beautiful and a great reminder of God’s love and presence in our lives. Because even when we feel lost and uncertain, He always has a plan far better than any of ours. I am so grateful for authors like Tawni who write such inspiring stories that not only bring us joy but also bring us closer to our faith. This book is a true blessing and if you are looking for a story that will touch your heart and soul, this is it. 4.5⭐️
This book absolutely grabbed my heart. The entire story was filled with so much emotion and truth that I couldn't put it down. Thank you Tawni Suchy for sharing this beautiful message of hope and forgiveness.
This story was a slow burn and the author didn’t skim on the hard parts. It’s the kind of story you can pace yourself while reading or get carried away and read late into the night. I loved the theme of forgiveness and second chances in this book. There was so much to enjoy and my heart ached for both Rhett and Dana. Their story truly had Christ at the centre, despite their struggles individually as navigating their relationship. Things I got from this story: -God’s timing is always impeccable - not listening to the Holy Spirit will have consequences - forgiveness heals - God can transform anyone and give them a new purpose This story probably could have gone on and on but the epilogue was just perfect. Tawni Suchy is an incredibly talented story teller and writer, her Christ-centred romance isn’t just for Christian readers.
Dana and Rhett's story was awesome and is a story of God's grace, redemption, and second chances. Some tropes included are secret identity, amnesia, and age gap. Readers will find out why Rhett ghosted Dana. Dana, who is single, is relatable. Rhett has a messy past. The theme of forgiveness is prevalent in this story, and that's a lesson the characters had to learn. I wish we could get Crew's story. Hopefully so. Great read
Friends, this was my first book by this author, and wow, I was hooked from page one! I found myself constantly wanting to sneak in more reading time because the story pulled me in so deeply. And the best part? The author’s love for Jesus shines through on every page in such a natural, heartfelt way—never forced, never cheesy, just beautifully woven into the story. I’m so grateful for the chance to read an early copy, and I already know this won’t be my last book from this author!
I am so glad you finished the book, because what an inspiration and a great reminder how God can turn something around for His glory! I truly enjoyed it the whole book!
Everything by Tawni Suchy is amazing. This is no different. If this is your first read, finish this and then go back to her others. You’ll love them all.
Just finished this one it is book too I like Christian series it's also a Christian romance series and it's so good I hate to see it end but I will pass it on to someone else that will enjoy it
I got so emotional in this one! The feeling of abandonment and trust broken can be felt from the pages so strongly that you feel like you're going through the pain yourself.
This book ended up in my Christian circle and I thought I'd give it a shot. I like supporting small writers when I can, and my faith is a huge and important part of my life. Unfortunately, this book was preachy, hard to follow and handled heavy topics in what I would consider harmful ways. I read it to the end because I wanted to give it a fair shake, and I really did go into it wanting to like it, but the book continued to spiral out of control the longer I read, and I hate to say I felt completely empty when it ended. Which feels awful to say. I really did want to enjoy this book.
In the "Before You Go" notes after the epilogue, the author says that this book is "for the girls who feel hopeless in love and romance. Know this: God has a plan." Sometimes God's plan for you is to be single, and that is every bit as valuable as being in a relationship. I never got the impression from this book that Dana truly found her identity in God. She was only truly happy when she was with Rhett. I don't think that message is fair.
I also don't love that the book started out with our male lead suffering a severe head injury only for this woman he has no memory of to be pretty handsy with him, constantly think about how attractive he is, and noticeably not call for help when she found him unconscious and half-drowned on the shoreline. There's an issue of TBI and consent there that was honestly very uncomfortable to read and completely ripped me out of the story. The doctor taking care of him also violated HIPPA a lot. It was an enormous barrier of entry into the rest of the story.
I hate giving one-star reviews, especially to small writers. I wanted to come away from this book really enjoying it.
Maybe I'll get more out of one of the author's earlier books.
