After a short abduction, Mickey finds himself at the center of his kidnapper’s obsession. He’s not mad about it.
No one has ever accused Edge of being sane. He was raised to be a killer, and that’s what he is. But nothing matters to Edge like his found family, and Edge thought Mickey planned to hurt one of his, so he snatched him. It wasn’t a long, drawn-out dilemma. He discovered pretty quickly he was wrong. However, Mickey’s cool-under-pressure attitude has him intrigued. Plus, he’s always had a thing for green eyes. He’s fascinated.
Mickey isn’t one to kick up a fuss. So Edge took him for a little ride. He apologized. It’s all good. Except the guy is kind of hot and Mickey isn’t immune. With Mickey’s high-power boss making deals with Edge’s family, they’re always in each other’s sphere. What could tasting him hurt? Apparently, a lot, especially him.
Edge is the second book in Charity Parkerson’s Killers Inc. series where hired assassins and their ilk find the love that finally saves them. These are best enjoyed when read in order.
Charity Parkerson is an award winning and multi-published author with several companies. Born with no filter from her brain to her mouth, she decided to take this odd quirk and insert it in her characters.

This is a story about Mickey and Edge, two men who are brought together after a brief kidnapping. Edge, a killer, kidnaps Mickey because he mistakenly believes Mickey plans to harm a member of his "found family." He quickly realizes his mistake but is captivated by Mickey's calm demeanor and green eyes. Mickey is unfazed by the kidnapping and is attracted to Edge's confidence and looks. Despite the strange circumstances, they find themselves constantly in each other's lives due to deals between their powerful families.
I loved this story with the dangerous and intense romance that begins with a kidnapping and gets more complicated as they give in to their attraction. I loved the way that they both had a difficult start in life and it enabled them to understand and empathise with each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
And so, this is how the foundations of this series are set. Book one was the first cord, this book literally brought them all together as a group. Many new faces promise many new hours of reading these sweet (dark) love stories in future books.
As for the romance between Edge and Mickey, kind of heavy handed out of the blue, heavy on the trauma, not convincing on the emotion. But still cute. *** (Or, I was really under the weather today so I may not have appreciated it enough :D :D Someone should really ban migraines!)
We met Mickey before as Kylo's bodyguard who is kidnapped by Rain's family. It's given him confusing feelings ever since Edge hauled him down to their murder basement - and a kiss. He's always been straight, hasn't he? This family of killers who were abused and used by the Russian government are fantastic. Especially Field. And Edge has his own vulnerabilities like Mickey has. This is a fun bi awakening and steamy comedy thriller.
I'm enjoying this series enormously. The stories are short and to the point, but manage to cram in as much heart and soul as a book twice the length. The characters are all a little broken, but find solace in each other. There are dark themes here, but also lighthearted and the ridiculous moments to lift the darkness.
These books move quick. I liked this one more than the first one. This one felt a little more complete. I would like to know more about some of the other characters.
