Earth faces annihilation. A tear in spacetime. An impossible choice.
Dr. Phil Bright's specialty was weather patterns, not existential threats. But when mysterious wormholes begin to appear near Saturn, carving massive, inexplicable gaps in the planet's rings, the impossible becomes terrifyingly real. Humanity is unprepared, grappling with a phenomenon that defies all known science.
Salvation arrives from an unknown galactic kingdom, heralded by a human professor with advanced technology and an offer of help. Yet, the price is steeper than any could Earth must surrender its sovereignty and pledge allegiance to King Manay XII, an artificial intelligence sovereign ruling trillions.
As Phil navigates a world of skeptical governments, alien wonders, and the truth behind the kingdom's ancient power, he's forced to confront the ultimate sacrifice humanity's freedom for survival, or watch the planet he loves be consumed by cosmic ruin.

Librarian note: There are multiple authors by this name in the GR database.
Authors weave a big story with some not subtle commentary about this world. BUT, earth is not alone in corruption: Politics. Commerce. Greed and idiocy! 💩. Spread across the Galaxy. 👽👾🤖 Not particularly dystopian, no graphic sex (a few hints tho) and no graphic violence. The ending didn't suggest a 'series' but you never know!
Kinda similar to their book "The Commander" - one of my favorites!
I seldom leave reviews but this is truly a unique and engaging story. In a nutshell, current Earth meets very advanced human progenitors. I found myself trying to guess what was going to happen next and failed in the process. Will definitely be getting another of their novels. Bob
I have gotten so burned out by stories that continue book after book after book. This was a welcome change. I needed a break from all the space opera series. I will be checking to see what else C J Williams has to offer.
Kept me reading through the first two thrids... The rest was a scanner. Oh well, I'll be moving on. I need books that don't need to be scanned just to get to the end. 🙂
