DECON: A Short Story

For Sonya, the day has finally come. Big Daddy always warned her about The Bad People, military men in white suits and grotesque masks. Now they've come for her, and Sonya and her Daddy have no choice but to go on the run in the ruins of a once-great city, fighting for their lives in a nearly apocalyptic wasteland. Allies are found, friends are lost, and no matter what Sonya must keep going, following the beeping noises that will lead her to safety, and away from everything she's ever known.

I know this is a short story but damn it really was short. It's like a good tease to a more grandeur story except there isn't. It left me with unanswered questions and I wanted more. I mean what becomes of Sonya? What exactly is this illness? Even though those questions aren't answered I still found it to be a good read.
