it's hard to say if this book is for a preschooler or the parents who would appreciate the humor, either way, it's adorable

This was a cute book! I loved the way the story was depicted, as the characters are actually just toys in a bathtub with a boy playing pretend. The transitions from the characters to seeing what the kid was doing with them was really well done! I think this will be a fun one for kids.

The cover alone is delightful, and this would be a fun title for a storytime about:
*ducks
*bathing/bathtime
*tributes to classic works of English literature in picture books for children

Bathtime ST. A boy plays in the tub with toys as he makes up a story to go with his play. A quick read, with big images and a fund story kids will like. The ending also had a fun little bit.

This was a very cute book! I especially loved the juxtaposition between bathtime play and what Herman was imagining!

Very nice illustrations!

A bathtime play story-in-a-story, showing us different levels of what's going on at different times (with some surface-level but fun Moby Dick allusions).

Dad picked this book because he's a fan of Moby Dick and thought it looked cute. Jack enjoyed the bath toy's quest to find Moby Duck, the duck and whale, and all the splashing. It's fun and clever.
