Warning! This book contains triggers that some readers will find distressing. It is not for the faint of heart.

This is the provocative opening book to The Darkness Trilogy
Tainted Rose is the second book.
Twisted Rose is the finale.

Drawn from experiences in the author's own life, this is a heartbreaking and painful story of abuse, degradation and humiliation. While the trilogy as a whole ends happily, this book does not. You've been warned!

Rose Meadows has been kidnapped. She wakes up in a motel room, tied to the bed, and she is terrified. Never could she have imagined what the men who took her have in store. The pleasures they seek are not only sexual; they want that, but they also want to abuse her in more degrading and devastating ways. They want to humiliate her. They want to debase her. And most of all, they want to break down her trust in the one thing that can eventually set her Love.

Hi, my name is Abby. I hope you enjoy my exciting new romance and erotica stories.

I love stories about strong, female protagonists that give you a good character arc and background to the action as well as providing the steamy details of what they get up to. I am particularly attracted to themes like wife-swapping, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and public and group encounters.

I am thirty-years-old and live in the beautiful forests of rural Ontario, Canada, with my two dogs.

TITLE: Tangled Rose
SERIES: (The Darkness Trilogy #1)
AUTHOR: Abby Weeks
GENRE: Dark | Adult Fiction
PUBLICATION: May 25th, 2014
MY RATING: 4 STARS

Warning! This book contains triggers that some readers will find distressing. It is not for the faint of heart.

This book/series was recommended to me by a friend on here, ༺**I've not read anything by this author before,**༺ not sure what to expect as the reviews on here are very mixed, but it does promise to be a dark, gritty, a darker book than I've probably encountered before..

It also states by the author “The following story is based partially on events from my life.”

So I'm going in with an open mind, deep breath in, here goes nothing..

It starts off where she has been kidnapped, tied up on a bed in a hotel room, drugged..

She tried to move her arms but she couldn’t. Her wrists were fastened to the posts of the bed with leather cords. Her ankles were too, The harder she struggled, the tighter they got. She was lying, spread-eagled, facing the ceiling. She was in as vulnerable and exposed a position as it was possible for a woman to be.

It's not the darkest I've read thanks to some authors who really push the dark envelope but it is darkish depending on your tolerance and what dark books you've read..It is brutal reading, you do get that connection with the female character and what she's enduring at the hands of a notorious biker gang..

This all occurred because of one man, one foul, evil man, REX SAVAGE, he was the reason why she was kidnapped in the first place, the one who had betrayed her. The one she had trusted against her better judgement.

You're never going to get out of here.

Fuck where to start, this book was twisted and sick as fuckery, in some parts it did make for hard reading..I was in such a book funk until I picked this up and devoured it, the authors writing style is so easy to get into the story your engaged from page one, it's precise and right to the point, no over wording, no flipping from past to present just flows for easy reading..I definitely need a break before I head into the other book though because I feel drained, you feel everything the author was trying to convey, when she thought she was going to be saved I felt that too etc etc..

The reason why I'm holding you here is because you're going to work for me. I'm going to put you in the most desolate, forlorn strip club in the entire world. You're going to be at the very last stop on the highway to nowhere. The only men that are going to see you dance are loggers, miners and truck drivers. You're going to waste away, year after year, in my club, and no one is ever going to come and save you. You're going to get older and less beautiful every year. You're beauty will fade, you'll age. You'll become an old woman. Tired, cold, bitter and loveless, and still you'll work for me. Still you'll belong to me.

There's nothing really good to say about this book, like it doesn't have a HEA at the end, it's raw, it's gritty and it will make you be thankful for the life you have..

**** 4 Powerless Stars ****

Tangled Rose is novella in The Darkness Trilogy. This books is raw, gritty with a great dose of humiliation for Rose Meadows.

 photo PicsArt_1440556444978_zpsclfuuaxk.jpg

Rose is abducted and held captive in a hotel room by the Dark Rebel MC's. She has no idea why she has been abducted but she knows things are not going to end well for her.

"You're never going to get out of here."
"After all the love has left your eyes, and all the beauty has left your face, and all the life has left your frail, old body, you'll still dance for me. You'll dance for me till I kill you."

But before Rose is engulfed into the life of a captive stripper in a dangerous MC, she is first raped, degraded and broke down to a shell of no hope. She begins to believe she is not worth a normal, happy life.

 photo images_zpsduyq8zia.jpeg

"Hope could be a dangerous thing if you let it creep into a world in which it didn't belong."

This book does not have HEA. This is not a warm and fuzzy story of happy hearts and butterflies. This book is the beginning of the darkness the Rose is living in.

This excites me!!

This short prequel foreshadows what is bound to be a brutal and tragic existence for Rose. The story opens with Rose tied to a bed after she's been kidnapped by an outlaw biker MC. From that point on, she is treated as less than human and submitted to disgusting, degrading acts to break her spirit.

Rose is now the property of the club and quickly realizes that she has no choice other than spending the remainder of her life as a stripper for the club, or die. This hellish existence is destined for Rose, and many other girls whose fathers had been members of rival MCs that were defeated by this evil club in a war several years back, as a message to any others that might dare to challenge the MC.

A young prospect, Patrice, is the only person to show Rose any kindness throughout this short story. Assigned to guard her, Patrice quickly develops feelings for Rose and becomes her source of hope and strength. When his feelings for Rose are put to the ultimate test, she let's go of any residual sense of self-worth she was grasping ahold of and is left a broken woman.

I am looking forward to the next book, which is promised to follow Rose's quest for redemption and revenge. For that reason alone, I am continuing this series. I hope she gives worse than she got because these bastards really have it coming!

I usually love darker stories, but with the possible exception of Patrice, these men didn't seem to have ANY redeeming qualities. They were just vile monsters and I hope Rose serves them their asses!

Abby Weeks – Tangled Rose
A prelude to what happens to Rose prior to the book Tainted Rose, when she is first captured by the DRMC. The story is well-written but I wouldn’t consider this a romance in any way. It’s very dark and throughout the entire story the heroine is emotionally, sexually and mentally abused and tortured. Not for the faint of heart but a great companion to the full-length novels that follow.
I love the actual writing even though the theme is quite harsh and heartbreaking.

Hmmm this started out interesting which is why The 3 stars however what could have become really dark, twisted, and good...died. The book is very short even still the last chapter was rushed and the detail of the story stopped. Yes, I know the story continues on but the way it ended. Yeah not interested.

Oh well...on to the

I don't know how to rate this. I mean as a romance-ish book it's okay. If I take it as a one woman's real life story. I just, wow. That's heavy.

I was half the time horrified and other half I was confused. As a person who likes to read dark books, my moral side said holy fuck how horrific. Other side wanted to enjoy it just as a dark book. Ugh, that's hard to rate.

Tangled Rose is written brilliantly. It is a gripping, dark, and horrifying book. There is nothing joyful in this book, so if u are looking for something like that, forget it.It said on Amazon that The author says this is based on her life events. I dont know. This is tragic and i hope she embellished at least some of it...for her sake!! It has a very simple theme...Rose is kidnapped and sold into a evil sadistic motorcycle club to sexual slavery. Her life from that point on was nothing. Now onto the next book, Tainted Rose. The only reason i did not give it five stars is bc there were times i actually had to put the book down bc it is so dark and depressing and the thought of someone, THAT someone actually lived this life just kills me

This was a short quick read that I liked. This is the first book in a new series to me. The story opens with Rose tied to a bed after she's been kidnapped by an outlaw biker MC. From that point on, she is treated really bad and humiliated. Rose is now the property of the club and quickly realizes that she has no choice, but to spend the remainder of her life as a stripper for the club, or die. This hellish existence is destined for Rose, and many other girls whose fathers had been members of rival MCs that were defeated by this evil club in a war several years back, as a message to any others that might dare to challenge the MC. This is not my first time reading Abby Weeks this book is well written. The book left me with a few questions that I am hoping will be answered in the next book. This book was dark and I love reading this genre. I can't wait to read the next book in hope it is longer than this one.

Tangled Rose is the first book in a trilogy and this is a very dark tale.

I had already read book 2 Tainted Rose (which was released first) so I was familiar with Rose's story. Tangled Rose which covers the time at the very beginning of Rose's abduction, gives us insight into why when we meet Rose two years down the track in Tainted Rose, she is completely devoid of hope. For me that was all I got out of this first instalment. It is full of rape and humiliation and just isn't very pleasant.

It is worth making it through Tangled Rose to get to Tainted Rose which I was a far more interesting read.

Oh heck this book is dark! I am rating this a 3 1/2 star read, for I can't say it was really enjoyable but it was definitely likeable for setting the horrible scene of whats in store for Rose next. The content is hardly likeable but it's part of the dark read and likeable only for the disturbing factor.

For a biker book this has got to be the darkest one I've read so far. Not much touches at all on the biker lifestyle but this is only the starting novella. If you thought Madeline Sheehan's books were bad then this will send you completely over the edge so may be worth avoiding. I hope it does go into the lifestyle more, we shall see.

This book contains rape and non consent, therefore some will find a trigger. What I found though although this is sooooo dark and disturbing the inherent need to read on and found out if Rose gets out of her predicament is foremost in your mind.

What Fat Boy subjects her to and then Serge - well, let's just say I hope they get their just deserts is all. What a pair of utter bastards.

I did find some of the character characteristics a little disjointed sometimes, the only one that seemed in the zone was Fat Boy, he was a nasty arse from start to finish.

This is definitely a book you cannot say you enjoyed because the content is so horrifying but this book like I say makes you want to read on. And it's funny it's one of those books you wouldn't actually diss if it wasn't visual, but Abby writes a fairly good prose and so therefore it is visual so if you cannot read disturbing situations I would warn you against reading this.

If you are the type that sees a *warning* in the description of the book, telling you what to expect from the book, and some of the things you will read about aren't your "cup of tea" but out of curiosity decide to read it anyway...don't!

This is a really short story but man, it was crazy! So much happened and yet, it didn't feel rushed.

Rose Meadows wakes up bound, spread eagle, to a bed post. She knows who kidnapped her. She has a few theories of what awaits her. What she doesn't know is why did she, in particular, get taken.

Soon, she'll find out the SICK reason behind her kidnapping. Because you see, this isn't your typical kidnapping. This one, comes along with a little revenge.

***

Once again, if you read the disclaimer and KNOW you DON'T like what you might read about, DON'T.

This girl gets humiliated in the most horrible way. My heart felt heavy while reading it, and not a lot of books have that effect on me.

Also, it's not a dark romance..so far. You see a connection developing with Rose and one of her captors but that quickly turns... sour. Book 1 is basically an introduction to her current state and what awaits her in the future, which is very unpleasant.

Will I read the second one? Yes. I want to know if that little spark her capture had towards her can beat all odds.
I want her to succeed and not let them accomplish their long awaited revenge.

Wow!! Just Wow. Please listen to the warnings of this book.
I loved this novella. LOVED IT. Although graphic and very disturbing to some it is written well and the author pulls you in and holds you there.

This book is written over a three day period in which Rose is in captivity.
The things that were done to her are incredibly graphic.
Fat Boy is a disgusting pig with some very VERY serious issues.
Patrice is a Prospect for the DRMC. He must watch over Rose while she is being held captive.
Patrice has been told he is to soft, too sympathetic.
He must show Serge he is ready to be patched in.
He questions himself and his loyalty to the club.
Does he choose the club or the friendship he has established with the captive he is guarding?

I can not wait to read Tainted Rose and follow the journey of Rose's redemption.

This book is the beginning of a three book series. Rose has been kidnapped and is terrified. This book is dark but not dark erotica. There is abuse, humiliation and so many devastating things happen to Rose that some readers might not wish to continue with the series after this book. I was drawn in and had to find out what happened to Rose. As a reader I connected with Rose, not by knowing what she was going through but how she was feeling, you could feel her emotions and I think that is what made me stick through the entire trilogy.

Characters: The characters were well written

Sex: yes but not consensual most of the time

Religious: no

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: yes

Genre: Dark

Would I read more by this author: yes

That was all kinds of fucked. And I'm sorry, but Patrice seems weird to me, one day you like someone the next you think they're a filthy whore because someone tied them up and they pissed themselves? How are you meant to go potty when you're tied up? Wouldn't you be more disgusted in the guard to didn't untie her and left her in it all night? Also, to make someone go down on someone covered in piss and come is fucking revolting. I understand this was a dark read, and a prelude to clearly show us what rose endured for the full length novel to take place, but I actually feel mentally and emotionally scarred myself. In terms of someone getting into the idea and being written good it's probably a 5, but in no way could I rate a girl being abused like that, and it the only thing happening as a 5. No way. If it was part of the full length I don't think it would get across what happened two years before like this did, and it's probably a good insight to have. But I'm going to have nightmares tonight, and probably every night this week. I can't even go there.

When I read that this was a dark erotica and an MC story I thought I was in for a treat………..well that a big misnomer. NO treat.

This goes beyond the realms of categorising this as a “dark read “. The warning is there for a reason.

If you are looking for a hearts and roses story then don’t read this. There were times I was uncomfortable with what was going on and it made me squirm in my chair, graphic scenes of humiliation and abuse.

In short, Rose was the property of DRMC. That one unforgettable night when she was captured, taught her that she should trust nobody. Now a slave of DRMC her life was now meaningless and she had become worthless in a short space of time moving from Tangled to Tainted.

Be warned and read it if you dare.

Lets see what book 2 has in store - I dread to think!

When I read the blurb for this book I really liked the idea, but it seemed to fall short for me. I am a huge lover of mc books, but this was missing something. Yes, there were dark actions, dark moments but I felt I couldn't connect enough to "feel" it, I couldn't get lost enough in the story. It was very detailed, as far as setting a scene but I felt it missed on explaining some of the emotional details.

There are some heavy graphic things discussed in this book, non-dark lovers should really read the warning before reading.

The repeating the same thought, action, reaction three or more times for everything that happens in this story drove me to distraction. This book could have been cut down by half of the 74 pages if it weren't for that.

I love dark MC books, and this one sounded like it would be right up my alley. I knew going in that this one was dark, and a prequel, what I didn't know was that I'd be reading the story in triplicate.

I've decided to read the second in this series, just because (I feel like) I put so much time into the prequel and I need to see where Rose goes and what happens to her.

This novella was VERY well written, it was gritty and painful to read: it was a filthy, dirty, degrading story without any hope or silver lining. This is NOT a romance - it IS dark, very dark.
The characters were well described and I felt like I was lying next to Rose on that awful bed.
This was a very quick read, and I believe it's setting up the next book Tainted Rose - which I NEED to read right now. I need to have hope that Rose get out of this.

Wow, dark yes.... I put it under genre devil-evil....is not the worst I ever read.
but in the aspect of breaking a woman, and taking her dignity, unless your a strong, bad ass, as I try to feel I am and teach my daughter this by me reading these books....attitude-faith and a lot of confidence and self preservation ...but if you read seize me, Breakneck MC you will see that winter, I think may have had worse, was actually broken literally but not defeated, ever when she knew help was not on the way,, and that is the difference of why this book is so dark and had that book ended after that horrific scene...you knew winter was going to die with a smug look on her face that says FUCK YOU-SEE YOU IN HELL

This is a twisted, non-romantic story of abuse and kidnapping that made my eyes burn. This wasn't what I bargained for. I am not sure I can recommend it. I think this deserves 4 stars because of the soul baring way the story hooked me. Once I started it I could not put it down. I'm not sure why I started something so dark except that I was up all night on pain killers after surgery, but once I started I could not stop. Is that a real excuse? Whatever the hay. Proceed with caution and for godsakes if you decide to give it a try put your big girl panties on and be fair with your review. It's positively brutal. You have been warned.

I refuse to read anything else by Abby Weeks. The stories start off interesting and then catapult into the ridiculous. The protagonists always wax between wallowing in their sexuality and beauty that pull the men to her; and then abuse and hopelessness. The way the protagonists are portrayed makes it hard to understand or like them.

So tired of the author saying the books are based on her life. If that's true, maybe her time would be better spent with a personal journal and a psychologist?

Ms. Weeks, please stop torturing us with your literary messes.

Dark

I kept reading because I had to know what happened to Rose. I could not fathom living Rose's life (I had a hard enough time reading about it). This is not your typical MC series. There is authenticity to the characters unlike any other series I have read before. If I had to use one word to describe this book, it would be "dark."

Dark, disturbing read. If your hoping for a dark erotic romance I would not recommend this book because there is no romance or light at the end of the tunnel. I found it quite bleak.

This is book one of a trilogy so to be fair perhaps it gets a little lighter as the series goes on but I'm not compelled to read anymore.

This was pretty dark.
I felt ill when she was being raped by Fat Boy.
Poor Patrice having to defile her just to get a patch into a disgusting MC.
You can tell a good writer when even reading rape scenes they become hot (don't judge).
Looking forward to see how she gets out of this.
