I am the man responsible for the captivity of two women; Roxanne and Juanita. Roxanne was sent to my little brother in New York City. Juanita stayed here with me and this is her story. When these girls crossed me and stole $100,000 of my money, they sealed their fate. Hell, that amount of money is nothing to a man in my position; it’s the principle. I am a high ranking Colombian official and being seen as weak is not an option for me. The one thing that I never counted was falling in love with my captive… This is not just her story, it’s mine. I am disciplined, hard, decisive, powerful, but I am also damaged... and falling in love is NOT an option for me; or so I thought…
To keep up with all things Suzanne Steele you can find her on Facebook and her wordpress blog. Everything there is up to date. She loves her beautiful readers. Suzanne Steele is an Amazon Bestselling Author and television host for a TV program in the Charlotte NC area. She focuses on volunteer work and is very heavily involved in giving back to her local community. The month of October will be spent focusing on breast cancer awareness. Suzanne has a penchant for writing about dark characters with twisted behavioral patterns. If you're looking for the typical romance, this is probably not the author for you. Her characters are very alpha in nature and many times they operate under obsession for the object of their affection; rather than love. Though she does believe in happily ever afters, her characters many times have a bumpy ride getting there. She also writes under the pseudonym Stormy Dawn Weathers for her writings that aren't so darkly laced with a true realism of shock and awe. Suzanne Steele does not believe in holding back when it comes to writing about how dark and depraved her characters are in the core of their primal natures.
Jesus Christ...first of...I'm laughing my ass off right now...cause I can't get rid of my first impression from last night when I read this....
oh, boy!
although it's not marked as a part of the series, it's linked to the book Club by the same author, where we actually meet the characters from this second book...so it's kind of a sequel!
ah, shit...
this was so bad that I can't even think of any nice words to write...
it has no characters' development whatsoever....the story - hahah, WHAT STORY?! and the span of events covers the period of several years in only few pages...what development can one expect in such a short space?!
I mean what are we talking about, here people...
f*cking hell, this was so fast I practically missed it...
shame, cause it did have potential to be quite good, but the author did a very poor job in achieving that potential
Juanita and Ricardo....two of my favorites. Their relationship is kick ass awesome. Cage fighting diva Juanita is my favorite kind of woman. Feisty, tough, doesn't back down to Mr Tough Guy even if she is married to the beast! Without trying she is able to wrap him around her little finger more than once!
Our resident bad boy, Ricardo Ramirez, is all man and then some!! No person dare stand up to his royal sexiness. He will take you out no questions asked if the notion feels appealing. Then he catches Miss Juanita trying to out smart him. He ends her $100k lie and forces marriage.
Their marriage is full of dominance from both sides and I LOVE THAT. Strong sexy man with his strong sexy wife. Now that is a power to recon with.
Never did I imagine that ending!!! WOW!!! I really need this one to continue on. I know there is more trouble for Juanita and Ricardo to cause. Those two have endless possibilities!!
RE-READ 3/10/2019 This is the second book in the Colombian Cartel Series by Suzanne Steele. I love Ricardo Ramirez but Antonio Wayne is now and will forever be my man. If you’ve read The Club then you know how the Ramirez brothers both ended up with a wife. If you haven’t read it then I suggest you do ASAP because it is awesome. Roxanne and Juanita are best friends and MMA fighters who travel all over to fight while pretending they don’t know each other. They don’t wanna mess up their beautiful faces so they fix their fights and make a lot of money doing it. Their scam was working great until they went to Guatemala and ripped off Ricardo Ramirez. Ricardo and Antonio Wayne Ramirez grew up poor in Colombia, their dad was an abusive alcoholic and Ricardo did whatever necessary to protect his little brother. When he started working for the cartel he sent Antonio Wayne to NYC to live with an uncle. It broke Ricardo’s heart to send him away but he knew it was the only way to keep him safe. Ricardo was later recruited by the government and forced to work for them as a Military Intelligence Officer. When Ricardo discovered the fighter’s scam he sent Roxanne to NYC to Antonio Wayne and he kept Juanita for himself. Ricardo becomes obsessed with Juanita and gives her the nickname Rubia, which is Spanish for blonde. Juanita has never been wanted by anyone so she’s unsure of Ricardo and tries to push him away. Ricardo is determined to make Juanita submit to him, body and soul.
This was a quick HOT read! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved that Rubia aka Juanita was a strong beautiful character and even though Ricardo was rough he came through in the end and the epilogue was super sweet! It did kinda end like maybe...just maybe, there could be another book?!? I guess we will see. I know your probably wondering "why the 4 stars?" well....I just wish there was a little bit more drama and story line to it. Like the part when Victoria and Juanita were together in the bathroom and Victoria was trying to make Juanita jealous that she was engaged to Ricardo before? Even though Juanita didn't show Victoria's words hurt her she was flat out angry in her mind and it kinda just was dropped after that. Nothing was ever brought up about it to Ricardo. From then it was kinda rushed. That's my only complaint other than errors which I can deal with. I'm glad I finally decided to pick up this book and read it. I've already jumped right into "The Club" and cant wait to see how it is.
It was a quick read and even though the characters and their story appears in other books it did NOT end on a cliffhanger. For me the author did not due the characters or their story justice. I needed more! The dark hero and his stubborn herione had all the making of a delicious 5 star and so much more! My Kindle addition didn't have any errors like some of the other comments stated. I felt the novella was too rushed and there could have been so many twists and turns. I loved the ending. My inner beast was almost sated by the darkness. I guess it was just too much of a quicky that I wasn't finished with them yet. Have already finished another book by this author that I did fall in love with and now I definitely will be following her more!
Rubia ia a romance story with some dark elements but not as dark as this author's other reads. I liked Ricardo because he was obsessed with Rubia (Think over the top Alpha male) but he wasn't over the top mean or cruel. This is a romance story where she was abducted but she isn't treated mean or rough. A very good romance with a great HEA.
Another great read. Sexy obsessed alpha!!!! What not to love. Obsession, marriage, love and children this book has it all!! Great read for any alpha lovers!
Shame on you! This is the same book last The Club. While I understand it follows along the same timeline, but some of the wording was the same. The dialogue was the same. There was no change in characters from The Club. Because of this, it was boring to read. Nothing new or exciting was introduced that held my attention. Perhaps this was written just because a sister was involved? Her story did not need to be told, because the exact same thing happened to her sister in The Club. Why???
Hahaha I cant believe this is an actual book. It was like random sentences stolen from a bad book and put together to make it a novella. There was no flow, no characters, nothing. He was insane and sexist and kept calling her a bitch!! And she called herself a slut??? Lmao his pregnancy test was sucking her breast firmly. And he kept chewing on her??? He chewed her neck and her stomach?? In summary: it sucked, I read it in 15 mind.
A story about Ricardo Victor, a military man/mafia made man and Juanita (Rubia) Ramirez, his cage fighting wife. This tale is set in Antigua, Guatemala.
His brother may be crazier, but Ricardo is plenty Alpha Male nuts on his own. Character motivations are made clearer in this updated book. Worth reading.
Rubia is the first of 2 books about the Ramirez brothers and their feisty wives. Both books stand alone and neither ends on a cliff-hanger. I read them in opposite order and it was fine. Juanita and Roxanne are best friends and cage fighters who have been throwing fights all over the world to make bank. It’s a good life until they throw a fight in a club owned by Ricardo Ramirez in Guatemala City.
Ricardo Ramirez is not only powerful, he is dangerous and hot and he’s decided it’s time for he and his little brother to get married. Both Roxanne and Juanita are virgins and after throwing that fight – they owe him. There’s not much real back-story on the girls, but both brothers are over-joyed to be the first and only man to defile their woman.
Juanita does everything she can to prove she’s maintaining her independence – the first day there she shuns the outfit Ricardo lays out for her and appears at the formal dinner table in jeans and flip-flops. For every infraction, Ricardo responds the same – he reasserts his authority, his dominion, his ownership with his mouth and hands and cock and Rubia (Ricardo’s nickname for Juanita because she is blonde) loves it, even if she hasn’t decided that she loves him yet. “The shock on her face humors me. It won’t take long for her to realize that the more she resists me, the harder my cock will get.”
Neither of these two – Richardo or Rubia can get past their trust issues, until and we are off to a happily ever after complete with whips and chains and declarations of eternal possession. My favorite kind. If this isn’t what you like – read something else.
I love it when mighty men tumble.... Juanita or Rubia as he sometimes calls her really messed up. But lucky for her she found a good bad guy or bad good guy(?) You see, he thought he was going to keep her to make an example of her. In the end the only one caught was him to the extent that he could not control his jealous obsession. The knife scene had me freaking out a little bit, but in the end it turned out good. He fell so hard he did not know what hit him!
This book was super good. It had a bit of intrigue and a lot of heat. Exactly what we came to expect from Suzanne Steele. I don't know if Roxanne's story is out yet, but that will be next on my reading list.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review
Synopsis:
I am the man responsible for the captivity of two women; Roxanne and Juanita.
Roxanne was sent to my little brother in New York City.
Juanita stayed here with me and this is her story.
When these girls crossed me and stole $100,000 of my money, they sealed their fate.
Hell, that amount of money is nothing to a man in my position; it's the principle.
I am a high ranking Colombian official and being seen as weak is not an option for me.
The one thing that I never counted on: was falling in love with my captive...
This is not just her story, it's mine.
I am disciplined, hard, decisive, powerful, but I am also damaged... and falling in love is NOT an option for me; or so I thought...
I was hoping for a good read when I started this book. But I was disappointed. The story line and plot could have been fantastic, but there was a lot that was skipped. A lot more detail could have been beneficial to understand the characters and the choices they made. So I understand she was kidnapped for fooling the high ranking official, but there wasn't proof. Then he made her marry him. That could have been a deep and rich plot and scene. I just feel like it was a chance missed at an amazing book. I know he loved her at the end, but I couldn't tell if she did even after having the twin boys.
I enjoyed the concept/plot of the book. But the way it came together felt like there was something missing...like maybe more detail into Juanita & Ricardo's thinking. And the end seemed very rushed.
Though I have several on my wishlist, this was the first Suzanne Steele book I've read. While I was not wild about this one, I am intrigued in reading the companion, The Club.
I enjoyed this book but it had a lot of errors. There were grammar and spelling mistakes. The interactions btw the H and h did not flow. One minute they are smiling and the next they are arguing with the H frequently threatening her. I also found the h's childish attitude annoying. She always giggled and pouted. Anyway, I did like that the H was so possessive and obsessive of the h. Despite being dangerous and ruthless, he did not mistreat the h.
A high ranking Colombian official decides to punish a woman for stealing his money. Just one problem—he falls for his captive. Ricardo and Rubia are two characters who set off serious sparks! This steamy tale starts off as lust filled vengeance and turns into a romance. Love it! Steele's stories are an addiction.
Having read a novel from the Dark Erotic Series, i was anxious to see what the "romantic" side would be like. Rubia did not disappoint at all. This novel delves further into the backdrop story of "His Captive". I love the way the author pieced together this epic tale without having you feel disjointed. Suzanne Steele writes gripping novels that make you forget that you're reading a book
Actually, the idea of this story was very interesting for me. that's why I wanted to read this. But when I read this, I didn't really enjoy it cos too much hollow in it (maybe because I love stories with details so that I didn't enjoy reading this) so that as long as I read it, I felt confused.
These are the best book if you are into mobs they are great I've really enjoy all of them This is the oldest brother to Tony who got the friend to this one they stole money from him and he kept one and gave the other women to his brother for his wife quite a journey you should read on enjoy Margie PS she's so great writer you will enjoy her work
Ok this is the first book I have read from this author and even thou it was short, and I wished we could have seen how they grew to love one another. But I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading book 2 on Antiono.
Was hoping for a lot more from this book as the first was great and was a little disappointed I felt this was rushed and that it moved two fast was a good read to pass the time but not captivating enough formeto re read
This was an interesting beginning to their marriage. I thought that Juanita had it easier than Roxanne in NY. The obsession is addictive and the need is certainly felt. I am I. Love with Suzanne Steele's writing style and cannot wait to read more!
I really enjoyed this book, but the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is the ending was rushed!! I love the ending but it went from him threatening that he would steal her future baby and that she was dead to him to all the sudden HEA
