Kaylie was just out of high school and still a virgin when she noticed someone following her. Wherever she went, she heard it: the sound of a purring motorcycle behind her. It wasn't always the same guy, but she knew they were always there for him.
Devlin McRae.
He was the head of the local MC club and as mean as a snake. At least that's what people said. She'd waited on him a few times at the diner and he'd always been polite and tipped extremely well. He was gorgeous too, tall, built and blond with boyish good looks. She hadn't minded a bit when she'd felt his eyes following her around the restaurant.
But being followed all the time like this was disconcerting. And lately, the bikes had been getting closer, less secretive, more obvious. What would she do if Devlin ever caught her?

My thoughts: Someone that doesn’t get annoyed by a plot point that I did will like the book. It is sweet overall.
Overall Rating: 2.25 Do You Recommend This Book: To someone that doesn’t get annoyed over what I wrote about above ReRead: No Would You Read More Books By This Author: Maybe I haven’t decided
I'm on holiday at the moment and this has been sitting on my kindle for months now so without checking any reviews (very unusual for me and as always I regretted it) I started reading.
I know this is book one and while the next book features a different couple I'd expect some continuance of story but still I didn't expect this to just end at 68%. So many questions are left unanswered so my advice is don't even consider reading this unless you're going to read them all.
Devlin is the president of the local MC, he's in his mid-twenties and could have any woman he wants but he's fallen in love with sixteen year old Kaylie. For two long years he's waited for her. Here's my first issue, has he actually waited? He's certainly not been celibate and while you could argue they're not together he's made his mind up she's going to be his to the extent where he's warned everyone else off, so none of the boys in school will even look at her. She's kept pure and untouched for him while he's still working his work through club girls. Hardly seems fair.
Plus he's won her mother over, he's good looking and Kaylie falls for him instantly but what if she hadn't?
Now despite its faults I was actually enjoying this as a quick holiday read but I wasn’t impressed when it ended like it did in the middle of their story.

based on the reviews, he wanted her since she was 16 (he's older) and waited for her to turn 18. but in those 2 years, while he was scaring away guys who was interested in her, he didn't stop sleeping around and he only did a few weeks before her 18th birthday. eeeww hard pass! 🤮
There's a prequel I think for this series but I didn't read it and just started this one. A good short story.
It's about Devlin, 25 and Kaylie,18.
Kaylie just graduated from high school. She worked at the diner. She was always being followed by a biker, escorting and protecting her.
A lot of boys asked her out but it suddenly stopped. It was all Devlin's doing. He's the president of the Spawns of Satan MC or SOS but others started calling them Devil's Riders. He wanted Kaylie since she was 16 but because she was too young, he didn't make a move and just waited for her to turn 18 before he claimed her.
Devlin even asked her mother's permission and it was sweet. He's not only looking out for her but also for her mom, protecting both of them since the first time he saw her.
But I noticed they din't say I love you to each other. Yes, they love each other but I still want them to say it to each other.
The story was HFN but I hope there's HEA for all of them at the end of this series.
R A T I N G : 1 star because it was very hard to like this MC romance
The chapters in Wanted by the Devil are veryshort, not particularly something I would mind if there was an actual, viable story to be found between the pages, but this story was very tame and without the risk and danger.
What I don't like is doubled standards when it comes to attraction and romance. Devlin set his eyes on Kaylie when she was a teenager but waited until she was of appropriate age before he acted on his desire. Here's what I don't like...Devlin scares off all the men and boys in town, making it clear that Kaylie is his as he's already made a claim...but, of course, for him, he's allowed easy pickings with anyone he wants (even if he does stay celibate for the coming months when he's about to make his move).
I don't mind the dedication of a protagonist when they take measures to get what they want, but the way the narrative is written and the way Devlin comes off us, is undoubtedly a tad stalkerish.
If, as a reader, you can forgo narrative details and overlook the lack of the larger workings of a story, then you might like this. If you don't mind quick reads with minimal angst and minimal conflict to propel a barely-there story, you also might like this.
This was a quick read for me, but it was also without real risk, plot and a push-and-pull romance. I wasn't expecting an expansive story, but I was expecting more from the romance, and definitely a lot more than the background noise of Devlin's MC.
Minimal angst and minimal friction equals a very sad, unfulfilled me :(
Hero wants heroine since she's 16 Does that mean he scares off all the guys from around her so that she remains pure and virgin for him? - Yes Does that mean he stays celibate while she grows up? - Nope Does he screws "club whores" until pretty much the week she turns 18? - Yes Do I count that as cheating? - YES! along with calling him a bastard with double standard, and a cheating manwhore! Author clearly doesn't know the meaning of "No cheating" disclaimer!
Virgin TSTL h Insta-love (h's part was total BS) Stalker behavior Double standard (sex) Mom pimps daughter out to biker (with the best intentions) Lamest Biker ever! H could've been a fucking accountant for all the 1% Badassary he had going. Plot holes the size of The Grand Canyon. This was a fucking mess so glad it was free KU

But.. I really don't like the character's behaviour at each other. The Hero, Devlin, is a biker. Big, bad biker yet I get the impressions that he's nothing but a quiet and nice guy. I don't feel his biker vibe, and that's too bad because I was expecting the biker vibe.
And the heroine, oh my goodness are you kidding me? She's 18 years old! Why she act like an introvert 13 year old innocence girl? Cheese and rice. I do enjoyed the innocent nature of heroine from other books, I mean, have you read Fifty Shades trilogy? Yeah. If Ana Steele's not innocent enough for you, I don't know anything else to say.
But this girl, Kaylie, she's all rainbow and unicorn and happily ever after with all the gooeyness and soft in it yet when something goes wrong, she freaked. I don't like my heroine like that. It's wrong. Girl, you're dating a freaking biker for crying out loud. Get a grip.
Not to mention there are so many elements that really weird for me. Yeah, that's why I rolled my eyes, cringed, WTF-ing and harrumphing a lot while reading this book. It just didn't make any sense.
I've read few weird books before, I honestly think that this book is not as bad as them. Because I kind of like Devlin's "stalking" moment because he didn't do it secretly. He actually followed her around visibly and that's cute to me.
BUT! But, there's this one line that really seal the deal that this book is ridiculous.
She whimpering like an animal as he brought her closer and closer until she finally tripped over the edge.
Had a lot of potential but failed in many ways. I have the entire series, so hoping it gets better.
The start was interesting but there are a few things that are not working for me. The pace slowed way down almost everything happens in 24 hours. Though it feels like DAYS! It is cheesy and way to sweet for an MC story. I mean there are moments that make you roll your eyes and think of Disney cheesy sweet.
There is repetition (my pet peeve) The editing is Not Bad, which is a plus.
It comes off as a young girls 'Fantasy Biker Romance'. Came way to close to being 'Young Adult'
TROPES: ~motorcycle club ~hero watched heroine grow up ~age gap ~forbidden love
I love age gap romances where the hero has known the heroine since she was younger. I'm probably the odd one out because of all the negative reviews, but I really enjoyed this one!
Keeping it short and simple- the hero has known the heroine since she was 16. He never really talked to her until she turned 18. During those two years, the heroes motorcycle club keeps an eye on her and pushes all the boys away. Ooooh, I ate this up!
The only negative thing I have to say is that the hero didn't remain celibate during the two years. Blegh. BUT he stopped sleeping around a few months before she turned 18 so he's technically celibate.
SAFETY: Ages: 18h, unsure about H's age but he's older! Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, celibate hero OM/OW drama: none Cheating/sharing: none Triggers: the hero has wanted the heroine since she was 16. if that bothers you, you probably shouldn't read this one lol HEA?: yes!
Devlin is president of the local MC he's tall sexy and plenty of women want him. Kaylie has just finished high school and is hoping to go to the local college, she also waitresses at the local diner. Devlin has wanted Kaylie for a long time but he must wait as she's too young. All bets are off now she's turned eighteen.
There were bits of this story that came across as a bit odd to me. SPOILERS FOLLOW. Devlin had approached Kaylie's mother and made some kind of deal with her regarding Kaylie, which I found unbelievable that she would be doing a deal about her daughter while still a minor. As for Kaylie she seemed a bit thick. I also didn't like the way she just fell in with whatever Devlin wanted. Devlin had put the word out that nobody was to date Kaylie while he waited for her to come of age. That made me laugh as he still had plenty of women while he was waiting.
Overall it's a short story that suffers because of that the plot is underdeveloped as are the characters.
First of all, I rarely read MC themed books, and lookie here, I picked a MC book just because of the title Wanted by the Devil it kinda brought that "bad" vibe, so i expected some gritty, vile, dark shit BUT this was soooo not either bad nor anything else related to the "usual" MC stuff, well if you exclude the bikes, that is *smirks*
this was actually such a sweet romance story that by the end of it, it turned into sticky yuck mushy thing, yeah well don't judge...
it's not a bad story, per se, it's just not even being close to any element of the mentioned above and for those of you who love overly sweet romance then, by all means go for it!
those of you who are looking for MC shit, look somewhere else.
Kaylie had noticed Devlin McRae years ago but it wasn't until she graduated high school that he expressed interest. Devlin knew Kaylie was going to be his, he has been waiting until she was grown up and now that she is he is coming for her.
This was very fun. Kaylie is not quite sure why Devlin is now interested in her but she trusts him. Devlin is a no holds bar type of guy, he knows his single days are over and is completely dedicated to Kaylie. Great read.
Devlin aka Devil is 25 years old and the President of SOS MC. Next he's on a mission and that mission is to claim Kaylie as his old lady when she turns 18 years old.
He has wanted Kaylie for two years but she's too young so he waited, planned and added protection to her as she walked to school, home, work and back to her house. Devlin would even come on her job at Mae's diner and watched her from afar.
Waitress, Kaylie, is a sweet girl who's very observant and she knows Devlin is interested in her. She hears the bike following her toward her job and to her home but says nothing. She noticed that the 'boys' at school no longer ask her out on dates or even speaks to her at the end of her sophomore year anymore and simply thinks that's just weird. It's like she's all of a sudden grew two heads or has leprosy --- but readers, Devlin planned that too. Yep, Devil actually scared those 'boys' away at her school as not to bother what he already knew would be his and soon!
Devlin goes after what he wants and he wants K-A-Y-L-I-E!!! He even talked to Kaylie's mother about him and her daughter being a couple... and that was too cute for a these outlaws on bikes!
I really enjoyed the memorable leaders of the SOS MC but watching Kaylie come of age with Devlin was intense and exciting to read about at the same time.
This wasn't a terrible read and I actually thought the idea/plot had promise, but I just never felt invested in the characters or story. There also seemed to be a lot of typos and repetition of statements/feelings throughout. The book (it's pretty short though, so maybe novella) seemed to have an identity crisis. It tried to portray our hero, Devlin, as this big bad motorcycle club president, but then almost everything he did with/around our heroine made him into this sweet teddy bear. Our heroine, Kaylie, was beyond naive too, and instead of it being endearing, it made her pretty annoying. She honestly seemed TSTL, and the whole idea of him waiting 2 years for her to come of age just ended up being creepy.
I'm not sure if there are more books/stories planned for these characters, but things didn't quite feel wrapped up or truly developed. I think I would have liked this better if it was more MC or more just taboo romance. I'm not a fan either of a hero who warns everyone off from the heroine, but continues to bed whomever he chooses. Sure, he stopped sleeping around a few weeks before claiming Kaylie, but it made the idea of him being loyal and faithful pretty unbelievable. Plus, I hope he's fine with his angel popping out a baby since he couldn't be bothered to ever use a condom! I can't even imagine what STD's he may have gotten from the club whores! Overall, this one had promise, but just didn't hit the mark.
A pretty simple storyline but I really liked it! Liked the Hero and the heroine and loved them together! So very cute.
Some might say it's too insta-love and that the Hero, Devlin, may come across as a little stalker-razzi-ish at the beginning but I see it differently. Maybe more like a blossoming love? He didn't officially approach the heroine, Kaylie, until she graduated from high school. That's when things got good. The official relationship then started and Dev was quite the gentleman, just like he had been the past couple of years. (And you can't help but swoon a little when you find out why he first noticed her in the first place, two years ago.)
Dev treated Kaylie with the utmost respect, was protective of her, liked her a lot and soon followed with feelings of love for her.
"I know what I want and I go after it. I don't lie and I don't cheat. I'll take care of you if you let me Kaylie."
Yea, I was kind of crushin' on Dev myself right then and there.
Kaylie sort of just went with the flow, which I found refreshing. Since she was familiar with him and was attracted to him, it made the acceleration of their relationship easier to accept. She was so darn sweet to boot!
I thought it was cool that the club was already used to her and I loved how the vast majority of the members and their families welcomed her with open arms.
What would I have changed about this book? I just wanted to hear the I Love You and wished that it was longer! On to book two in the series, Still Waters!!
Well I usually don't spend this much for a short read, but I am glad I did...this book was thoroughly enjoyable. if you're looking for some realistic normal everyday read then don't get this one! ((I get so irritated when I read reviews from readers stating its unrealistic! seriously? whats fiction then???))...
The thing that I really enjoyed about it, was the hero & the way he respectfully treated the heroine & her momma...shes young & VERY naive...but sweet...even her momma supported the relationship lol...Dev is just plain hot & the way he loves on her made me sigh dreamily...
The author has a talent for writing very steamy love scenes that makes ya hot all over...its not wam bam thank you mam..no cheek slapping no whips etc...this is a hero that knows how to ease the way for a delicate naive little virgin & make it beyond dreamy... I liked the way she was able to develop the personalities of individual characters in the book, being so short of a read...that can't be easy to accomplish..plus this book was not just about the love scenes (which lol mind you at the rate this author writes her scenes i wouldnt complain)
so over all I am glad I bit the bullet & splurged on this book...book 2 is luckily for me available, so downloading it next.
Super short audiobook (2h 59m), part of the catalogue
I don't normally read MC romances. I don't see the appeal and I'm terrified of motorcycles 😅 But this had my favorite male narrator, so why not 🤷♀️
The story is nothing extraordinary and the ending was ridiculously unbelievable. But as a one time, nothing better to do listen it was fine.
I didn't like the female narrator, though. I know the FMC is supposed to be 18, but she made her sound 14 and it made me uncomfortable. She continues to narrate the other books in the series so I won't be continuing. ・ ・ ・ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕮⋆˚࿔✎𓂃 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Well this is my sixth book by Joanna Blake and I have to say that I really enjoy her short but really exciting reads...and this one was the perfect beach book on vacation. Young Kaylie, working at a diner notices she is being followed home from work all the time but nobody ever touches her. All of a sudden all the boys at her school avoid her like the plague and then sexy biker Devlin McRae starts showing up and taking her home after her shift. It is obvious he wants her and has a plan to make her his (she has always been his in his own mind)and what follows is a pretty sweet romance with some dark and dangerous elements. A nasty, jealous club whore does not want to give him up and a crooked cop causes some major drama, but in the end, the club protects their President and his woman (even though she is quite young at the beginning)and it has a good HEA ending for them. A short story that still packs a punch and has a strong family theme of love, respect and loyalty.
Writing is amateur hour. Story shows promise but execution way off. Too much happens too soon and then it's resolved even quicker. Insta-love to the max. Heroine is beyond young and immature. Hero is a bit creepy when you think about it. He started stalking her when she was 16, does no one else have issue with this premise? Finally, our author seems to have zero clue as to the workings of the legal system. Don't write something into your book that is so essential to the plot if you don't know anything about it. Just not good all around.
As I suspected from the bookblurb, very rudimentary writing. It might appear less juvenile if it had been professionally edited. I tried to trudge on but all the missing commas and apostrophes kept accumulating. Too damn distracting.
Ok.... well to start out you have Devlin who is the MC President. Apparently he has been keeping tabs on Kaylie since she was 15 and just waiting for her to become legal. Now to be honest there is a really sweet story as to why he walked into the diner that day and saw her. So anyway he’s impatiently waiting and has his guys following her to make her safe and he has warned off the male species young and old and nobody has even asked her out on a day since her sophomore year of high school. He has even spoke to her mother and gotten her blessing which is sweet but also extremely weird....
So then the night he finally is gonna make her his he picks her up from work and asks if she wants a ride.... she gets on his freaking bike. I mean there has been no dialogue at all up to this point except for “hi” and “ do you need a ride”. Well whatever she’s 18 we all do stupid shit when were young. So basically they go a week of hanging out fooling around doing the get to know each other thing without hardly any dialogue. He says he gave his word to her mom he wouldn’t get her into bed for a week you know so she can get to know him first..... WTF!! That’s weird not just me right? Anyway so the week is up... wait there was one day he didn’t even show up cause he was having trouble keeping control of himself so basically 6 days... so he takes her to a cabin and he takes her V card. Then on the way home he gets arrested for supposedly attacking a woman... basically an ex who is nuts. So 3 days he spends in jail cause the police are out to get him. Well he gets out and Kaylie takes off cause she is not sure if she wants this life and he can’t go after her cause he’s on house arrest. Well then something happens and she basically has come to realize this is what she wants so she goes to see him and she tells him and then.................................... it’s over.....WTF!! I was really starting to get into this story. But now I’m so annoyed I don’t know if I wanna read the next one.
So the story was entertaining enough and I get it’s fiction but some things as I mentioned above just really made me really smh.

Wanted by the Devil.... So I decided to read this 4 Book Devil's Riders Series offered by Kindle Unlimited and of course it is by an unknown author to me. When I first read this first book in the series, I thought of the show "Sons of Anarchy" but with a novella spin to it as this was a very short read. Although there was some grammatical errors and the plot was not as strong as it could be, there was a plot, quite a lot of passion and attraction between the major characters....Devlin and Kaylie.
The story is about a Motorcycle Club called the Spawns of Satan housed in California who is well know in there town of having bad boys that are hot, built and fully of sexual tension. Not sure of what really goes on in MC's but as I stated this story was a short read and seemed to be a novice with the writing. I believe there have been updates to the story but I have not read them.
In any case, it was just an okay read. The rating I gave for this book was 3-Stars and only reason for that was that I liked the cover and the description of the Devlin "the Devil" himself in the story.
I think this is the first time I've ever wanted to say to a book, "Well bless your heart." The author tried really hard.
Devlin (25-ish, MC Leader) started crushing on pretty little Kaylie (18, virgin) when she was just 15. He's patiently waited until she turned 18 and graduated before making his move. During this time, sure he had meaningless sex with club bunnies, but now that the time has grown closer, he stopped doing that. He's also made sure everyone in town stayed away from her. On the day she turns 18, he picks her up from work and takes her to lovers leap and kisses her. Pretty much declares she's now his "old lady". It's so comical.
The entire book repeats the same 5 lines over and over. It's so cheesy and unrealistic. I assume this was written by a 16-yo girl who has just finished watching 'Sons of Anarchy' and now wants to lose her V card to a sexy biker. I'm not going to tell you all the silliness that happens.
The reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because (1) I feel sorry for it, (2) it's narrated by Troy Duran, and (3) they don't use condoms.
