I liked the first book, but in my opinion this was a big step up from Spectre Rising. Lots of action and plot twists to keep you turning pages. Looking forward to book 3!

A nice plot and telling of the story with our friend Specter going around, around, and down. Nice support cast but I still do not care for how Lemoine writes the bad guys.

Cal Martin made a daring jaunt to a foreign country for love and his country in C.W. Lemoine’s debut thriller Spectre Rising. In the end, he feels like he has lost both.

In Avoid. Negotiate. Kill. Cal Martin is trying to get his life back together, but the dark cloud seems to follow him where ever he goes. He joins a Black Ops organization, but his employment ends when an operation goes bad. Cal comes home only to find people are trying to kill him, while they manage to kill his close friends, he feels it is due to him being the target and they are just collateral damage.

Cal has hit rock bottom and has turned to his friend Gentlemen Jack Daniels, but Agent Decker is there to try to pull him from the darkness. Cal is finally pulled from his stupor when he finds out that a familiar foe is behind all the death and mayhem. Cal is now on a mission, to go up the chain, to see who ultimately is behind this dark cloud surrounding him. With the good and bad guys targeting him, Cal decides to go off the radar, with his loyal dog Zeus.

If you enjoyed CW’s Spectre Rising, you will definitely enjoy Avoid. Negotiate. Kill. CW’s development of the characters and plot will keep you turning the pages to the very end. While I read along, I tried to anticipate, what CW would do next with the storyline. Towards the end, I thought I could see what was coming, when the story didn’t turn the way I thought it would, I thought CW had missed a good opportunity. A few pages later, I was totally caught off guard by the twist CW had come up with.

CW’s twist & turns in his story telling are up there with the best. Give Avoid. Negotiate. Kill. A chance and you will not be disappointed.

This was the first book I read by CW Lemoine, but I don't think it will be my last. This fast-paced book keeps the action coming. The book builds on an obviously strong plot in Spectre Rising (I recommend you read it first because this book has the spoilers).

Full of page-turning action, the book opens with an operation gone bad and the rescue mission that follows. With all kinds of twists and turns, we find Spectre Martin thrown into a stupor when friends start dying, and assassins come calling. After being placed in protective custody, the challenges multiply as theories about who is responsible for some murders and a missing Spectre only complicate the landscape.

Throughout it all, Spectre reflects on his training for his decision making - Avoid, Negotiate, or Kill? But who can he trust and who is the enemy?

The only thing I didn't like about the book was when the author went a little technical on me. I am sure flying fans loved the detail, but I ended up skimming because it slowed the action a bit.

I received this book free from a GoodReads giveaway and made one mistake - I didn't read it sooner!

Military Thriller fans looking for the next Brad Thor have found their savior in C.W. Lemoine’s Spectre series. The second entry in Lemoine’s Spectre series is an emotionally charged affair with eye-popping air combat scenes. Recruited into a secret organization called Project Archangel, fighter pilot Cal “Spectre” Martin is mourning the apparent loss of his girlfriend and fellow pilot, Chloe Moss. The inaugural mission with Archangel, however, goes horribly wrong, as he’s shot down and held captive in Syria. Facing a dire situation in captivity, he’s reminded of the three basic tenets of Krav Maga that his Sensei had instilled in him since day one of his training: Avoid. Negotiate. Kill. This reader is one unhappy camper! After completing over 300 pages, there is no ending! Now the author may find this a cute ploy to get readers to buy his next book, but I found it quite insulting. There is a lot of action in this thriller, so having a proper ending certainly would have been the right thing to do.

Enjoyed the fact that there are two strong women in the story, one a good girl and one bad.

Recommend the author employ a qualified human proof reader to correct all the errors that a spell check program will not highlight.

Overall very disappointing and cannot be recommended.

This is a continuation of the Spectre Series, following SPECTRE RISING. This book has an OK plot, a lot of action, bodies all over the place, and to what end? The book doesn't end--it comes to a tire-smoking, screeching stop. There is no closure of any kind for any of the survivors, and no indication of "if or when" the series may continue. Another couple of chapters might have been enough to raise the rating from 2 to 4+ stars. Not a "reader friendly" situation.

Another good read by CW Lemoine.

Like the first Spectre book, this one's hard to put down. I do wish there was less foul language. It doesn't add to the story, and point can be made without the use of it. Looking forward to the next one, however.

Similar to Tom Clancy's work. I like the pacing. I felt that sometimes the military jargon/acronyms could have been better explained.
