The blurb did catch my interest but the story barely hold it. I finished it out of curiosity. 🤷🏻♀️
The age cap of 16 years didn’t thrill me and luckily there were neither kinky nor daddy references.
The romance timeline was short and depth was absent.

I think I was expecting something different from this story. I thought it was good but I had a hard time coming to terms with the situation. I get what Maya was trying to do but I would think going to a sex club and hiring an escort to teach you the ways of sex is a bit dangerous. Even though it seems like the escorts that frequent there are all tested, you just don’t know who you’re going to get. I would think it would be more comfortable meeting someone in a conventional way than a sex cub or even a dating application. This story would be the ideal and easy way for people to date if everything is guaranteed safe. This idea was played into the story and while I think it’s a great thing to believe in and even something I wish actually existed it was unbelievable. I think this was what I struggled with. What are the odds of doing something like this and to have the escort you hired be an actual good person and rich guy? It’s definitely not likely but I love how Lili plays into it and makes it more glamorous than it is. I think it was just hard for me to picture this because it would never happen in real life which is why I’m giving this a 4. Aside from that, it’s a good story and filled with talking things out and expressing desires and understanding how to do things when it comes to intimacy. When you pull back the few lies Anthony had to say it isn’t too bad. He was trying to protect her in a way so she wouldn’t feel uncomfortable about the situation. The idea is he should have told her sooner in the book and not drag it out. If it wasn’t for the way he eases Maya into seeing who he really is and if he didn’t catch up to her while she was running away from him, this would have had a totally different ending and vibe. The past few books I’ve read, there hasn’t been a shoe dropping because of communication and how the people were conveyed with each other and in a deeper understanding. I kept waiting for it to drop but it never did and that is so awesome to me. The focus should be on communicating and not jumping to conclusions. I wish more books did this and I’m starting to notice it happening more. There doesn’t need to be unnecessary drama unless the story calls for it and I’m glad these last few books didn’t have it. Though I wish Maya and Anthony met in a better situation that didn’t call for lying, you couldn’t deny the chemistry, desire and connection they both felt with each other. From the get go, you can tell that Anthony is being himself even though Maya didn’t know his real last name or what he does and his impact as a businessman. Aside from going along with being an escort, Anthony was honest in his values, talked about his family and friends as well as how he is as a person and didn’t hide his feelings for Maya, nor did he want to push her away or hold her at arms length. I’m noticing a pattern with the age gap stories. These men seem less afraid of commitment and showing emotions. They open themselves up more compared to the younger men I’ve read about. Once in a while you’ll get a bitter hero in the age gap stories, but this one wasn’t that and I was glad for it. The next and last book seems like it will be more about commitment issues and in falling in love, from both sides but it also seems like there will be more stubbornness to it. Perhaps that one will garner a 5, only time will tell.

I can always count on Lili Valente to write a swoony billionaire romance and this one had all the swoon. “Pretending I’m Yours” is a steamy, swoony and sweet age gap billionaire romance that was a great addition to the series.
Maya has moved from Maine to NYC and she’s ready to lose her V-card. It never felt right with anyone in Maine but with the suggestion of a friend, she visits an adult club to hire a male escort. Anthony is a genius billionaire who has just quit his job. He goes to the same club to unwind and see Maya from afar. The club owner has the idea to have these to spend time together since Anthony would be understanding and caring with Maya. But Anthony doesn’t tell her he’s a billionaire and insteads to pretend to be an escort. The two agree to a week long fling but as they spend time together, there is a clear attraction between them that goes beyond the bedroom.
I loved the age gap and the reverse Pretty Woman storyline of this book. Maya is independent, smart and has a genuine personality that I loved so much. She waited until she was ready and went the route that was most comfortable for her. Anthony is a swoony billionaire who wants to help everyone but wants more in life. He’s conquered the financial world and needs to find a new purpose in life. The two had an undeniable connection from the start and only grew as the story went on. The steamy scenes were delicious and perfect for their love story. The ending was great and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Maya is our third girl from Sea Breeze, Maine, but here she has made her way to New York. Not only is she hoping to close on a property she wants to develop, but she goes to a club recommended by Weaver in order to finally lose her virginity and learn some sex lessons.
It is here at the club that Maya meets Anthony, a man that has just quit his high powered job and, although he knows quitting his job is the best thing for him, is also adrift in his life, not knowing what it is he wants.
The connect from the first moment that they lay eyes on each other. A small prod of the owner to Anthony and she has him acting as an escort to help Maya with her plan.
With just a few adjustments Anthony hides a few key pieces of himself from Maya as the pair then have a week together for both of them to learn more about each other and themselves.
Maya is certainly an old soul, but she knows when she needs to listen and when she needs to act.
I love that the pair both talked to each other when the shit hit the fan and we had a proper adult relationship.
I really enjoyed this book and now really look forward to reading Elaine's story with Hunter.

My review is written after listening to the wonderfully presented audio version of this book. The narration is performed by C J Mission, who is wonderful as Anthony, the billionaire who has reached a point in his life where making money is just not enough and Lili Valente as Maya, the woman from Maine who wants to lose her "V Card" in a safe and controlled way. Lili is also the author and a brilliant narrator, so who better to bring Maya to life?
I loved this crazy story and was drawn in from the beginning and didn't want to stop listening until I reached the end. Anthony is a mathematical genius and a billionaire who one day just up and quits his position in the financial world. Maya is a wonderful woman, everybody's best friend, but still a virgin. She has dreams of moving to New York City to live and to rid herself of her virginity there with a safe man who has been vetted. They met when they both went to a special club, where the owner Twyla agrees to help Maya and sets her up with Anthony, thinking it's just what they both need. From their very first glance across a library, their chemistry is palpable and hot. I love them together, but what will happen when she discovers that Anthony isn't who she thinks he is?
I loved this book, have loved the whole series, and have no hesitation in highly recommending it.

I don’t read a ton of books that are spice heavy anymore, well honestly I’ve never preferred them, but I’ll read them anytime, but now I’m more into the plot. However, with this one, the author said it’s a book to escape from the current world and honestly this was so fun, it was easy to escape into their glorious adult club while in the book. This book was weirdly very architecture and setting focused in a way I don’t feel like I’ve read a ton, like the adult club, the MET, the hotel, and so much were described in such well detail that it felt like I was reading/listening to this book using VR, which was so cool!
Maya is young and not wanting to be an inexperienced young woman in the bedroom anymore, and so she seeks out the person to help her with that, who sets her up with Antonio, and their chemistry was enough for these to to fall for each other right off the bat. Their scenes were spicy 🔥 and fun, but also romantic as Antonio really starts to fall for Maya. Maya’s friends also added a good amount of humor and fun in addition to the steam so overall this book was well balanced and just perfect for what it its intended to be!

Long a fan of Lili Valente, there are plenty of things that keep me coming back. I know that I will be getting a book that will entertain and delight, and that the characters, no matter their story, will have found their ways into my heart by the time all is said and done. That's quite a gift, and one that not all authors have to give.
It wasn't hard to fall in love with Maya and Anthony. Having met her in the previous books in the series, I already liked her. And midlife crisis or not, Anthony is pretty self-aware, and also very likable. They shouldn't have necessarily worked as a couple, but boy, did they - their chemistry was on fire from the very first glance, and over the course of their equally sweet and steamy time together.
PRETENDING I'M YOURS hit all my marks for a winner of a read, and had me rooting for Maya and Anthony throughout. These two are clearly meant for each other, and seeing them come to their own realization had my romance loving heart singing.
I have to add that, having been spoiled by listening to previous Lili books on audio, I could literally hear this story unwind in my head (NOTE: do yourself a favor and listen to this when it comes out on audio!). Whether you read, listen, or both, grab this book, and the others in the series, and do it soon, because Elaina's and Hunter's book is coming, and it's going to be all kinds of awesome.

What she doesn’t know is that he is the answer to her situation. So she hires an older “escort” to show her the ropes. Only she doesn’t realize that Anthony is no boy toy and instead a very successful businessman.
These two share a passionate connection over the next week and both start to feel like they’ve found the one…only one of them is there under false pretenses. So how this plays out - you’ll have to pick this one up to find out.
Each of these couples have been fun to watch fall and the fourth book might be the most delicious one of all! I cannot wait!

This is the third book in the Forbidden Billionaires series. We get Maya's story. I loved the fun of this book. One of the major winning points of this book is how Maya was in a safe place to adventure into a sexual relationship for the first time. Though the way she went about it was a little different, but loved how she took control of her destiny. Anthony will have you swooning. He really won me over with how he treated Pudge. One of my favorite parts of the book was when Pudge went on a date with Maya and Anthony. Lili Valente wanted to write a book to escape from reality and this fit the bill. It's a very steamy read, but there is so much heart in it as well. I just loved going on the journey of Maya and Anthony falling in love. I give Maya major credit for going out of her comfort zone in many ways. She is one brave lady. This is definitely a book worth reading. The next book in the series has me intrigued by the tease we got.

This book had me by the hook since the prologue because of how gone the MMC is and they just met not even a week long, which in my opinion is quite hard to set up because it can be too "insta" too soon, but I really liked how the author did an excellent job of capitalizing on their chemistry and waiting for the right moment to get intimate thought still early given the plot. I must admit there were points in the story that I question too, but I realized I was able to let it go just because of the MMC and how in love he is with the FMC. Plus point for Pudge. IYKYK!

A fish out of water who shines…
If you’ve been reading this series like I have then Maya is not a stranger. She was shy and kept to the background normally but she was taking the opportunity she’d always wanted and put her dreams on the line. She was going for it even if she blew past any and all comfort zones. It was the big city now and anything was possible. And whether it was simply luck or fate, Anthony was going to be part of those endless possibilities…
From the moment they met, when their eyes found each other, both Maya and Anthony knew this was going to be special. What was supposed to be a week of fun and frolic was just that, but it also promised so much more. If only they could work through just the teeniest, tiniest, little white lie…
I’m not one for lies or games but this didn’t feel like that at all. Instead, Maya and Anthony's chemistry leapt off the pages and their relationship felt like a charming, soulful, meeting of kindred spirits. I loved these two as they talked, they shared and learned all about each other. Was it enough to get them through the biggest obstacle they had? I sure hoped so!
Through it all – the sweet and sultry buildup, the unsettling truth being revealed - they laughed, they loved and made their way… Together. So good!

Loved this book!

She is a young virgin, looking to move to New York City to live and wants to rid herself of her virginity. And that's how they meet. They both go a special club and the owner Twyla, sets them up. Their chemistry is fire! I love these two together. I love this book and series! I highly recommend! I can't wait for Elaina's story!

This literary gem sparkled with such brilliance that I found myself desperately clinging to every last word, praying the story would never end. The series has me hooked harder than a binge-worthy Netflix show, and I'm already champing at the bit for book 4 like a kid counting down to Christmas.

I have read other books in this series, but as I really don't like secrets and lies in storylines this title was a bit of a challenge. I liked how Maya and Anthony related to each other from the first time their eyes met, but wish Anthony had come clean earlier. I know it was the main element of the story, but didn't see why he had to carry on the pretence. Anyway, the ending was satisfying and sets up well for the next book.

Oh gawd, truly awful.
I could kinda get into the premise of Maya hiring an experienced, older “escort” to help her discover the wonders of sex and Anthony pretending to be said escort because he fancied her like crazy, yet this lost me with the insta love. It was completely rushed and felt too implausible.
Struggled to finish this one and skimmed through a huge chunk to get to the end.

This is book three in the Forbidden Billionaires series. It’s a well written story of hidden identity and good intentions. Age-gap is my fave trope, so I did enjoy Anthony and Maya’s sweet story. A very entertaining and engaging read.

I loved this age gap, virgin, hidden identity billionaire romance. It is a heartwarming, funny and spicy romance full of lovable and relatable characters with just a smidge of angst. This book, and Anthony and Maya’s relationship, evoked a surprisingly deep well of emotions despite being based on a transaction of a week of spicy times. The deep emotions had me all up in my feels. Anthony is a billionaire who decides to walk away from his carefully controlled financial career and into his friend’s members only sex club for the first time. Maya is a shy good girl from rural Maine who on the same day enters the same sex club in NYC to hire an escort for a week. When Anthony’s friend, the club owner, offers him the week long “job” as Maya’s escort, the lie, the fun, and the big feelings begin. Despite being spice based, Anthony and Maya’s relationship develops organically and naturally moment by moment, in and out of the bedroom, as they spend time together and get to know each other. To get from a fake, transactional relationship to something real and forever will involve truth telling, leaps of faith, baggage unpacking and life course correction. This well written story included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a swoony and captivating storyline. I loved these two characters. 4.5 stars.
