After his partner dumped him with a pregnant surrogate four years ago, Cary Whitmore was forced to play single parent while starting up a new business. With the dog bakery now semi-successful and his son healthy, Cary thinks he may be ready to date again.

Heath Cummings is trying his damnedest to get his charter boat service off the ground and dreams of one day soon being able to quit his job as an offshore driller. Paying off his dream requires making it through a couple more years, which means being open about his sexuality isn't in the cards just yet.

When the two take their flirting to the next level, Cary wonders if he can handle another guy who might take off, while Heath has to decide if he can risk his dream of a laid back life—and giving up his long-held and much enjoyed bachelor status while taking on a child when being a father was never on his to-do list. Will they sink, or will they keep swimming?

Kade Boehme is the epitome of dorkdom, only watching TV when Rachel Maddow or one of his sports teams is on. Most of his free time is spent dancing, arguing politics or with his nose in a book. He is also a hardcore Britney Spears fangirl and has an addiction to glitter.

It was after writing a short story about boys who loved each other for a less than reputable adult website that he found his true calling, and hopefully a bit more class. He hopes to write about all the romance that he personally finds himself allergic to but that others can fall in love with. He maintains that life is real and the stories should be, as well.

This is an easy and sexy story with plenty of steam and tender moments.

I loved Gus, Cary's son, in this one. He was a typical 4-year-old and didn't take over the story. So often, kids in romance books are pawns of the plot and act like adults on steroids, but not so with Gus.

Cary and Heath's relationship developed naturally. I could see Heath willing to trust more, and Cary opening up about his needs and feelings. The secondary characters, particularly Heath's friend Kyle, were three-dimensional and added humor and interest to the plot.

BUT I disliked the drama over Heath's ex-lovers. I get that he was bisexual and didn't do relationships, but did that have to be such a huge focus in this book? I felt like my face was rubbed in Heath's bisexuality everywhere I turned. Always, there was yet another person Heath had fucked. I particularly didn't care for Becca's involvement. She was painted as a sympathetic character, but I felt like she and Heath had too much history for their relationship to feel nonthreatening.

And don't get me started on the slut who came on to Heath, and Heath's pathetic attempt at controlling his dick. That was such fuckery and really didn't belong in the story.

Also, everyone has fawned over the HEA in this one, but, honestly, I didn't see it. This was a HFN for me. Considering Heath's issues, yeah, he settled down, but didn't feel like that big of a commitment to me. After all the drama and bullshit, I wanted more, like . It wasn't quite enough, so I felt vaguely unsatisfied when the story ended.

I should mention there were a few editing issues, mostly typos and missing words, but they didn't really detract from the story for me.

I like Kade's characters. They always resonate with me, even if I don't like them.

This was an entertaining read; recommended. And I'm very glad to see that we'll be getting Kyle's story next!

The story starts with Cary who just got dumped by his partner with a pregnant surrogate. Even if he’s hurt, Cary decides to keep the baby. Three years later, Cary is the single father of Gus, a cute little boy. He owns a bakery, so with a business and a little kid he doesn’t have time for dating. Cary meets Heath at the animal shelter. He’s attracted to him but he doesn’t know if the other man is straight or gay. He is more than happy when he meets Heath at a local gay bar.
Heath is bi, but no one knows he sometime hooks up with men. Owning a fishing company is the main reason for staying in the closet, since his business means so lot for him. He isn’t looking for a relationship and he also is not looking for someone with a kid. He is convinced he’s not so good with them. He doesn’t hate them, but he doesn’t love them either. Until he meets Gus.

After one night stand, they agree to date. In a few months, both of them start to feel more for each other. Heath realizes very soon he could fall not only for the other man, but for Gus too.

This one was a cute story, but unfortunately very forgettable. For some reason I liked Cary more than Heath. He is a great father and he was sweet, caring and patient with Heath. He was more than understanding about Heath situation (being in the closet). Both men felt relatable to me and Heath’s struggling felt real. I enjoyed how relationship progressed and even if it wasn’t a long read it felt natural.

For a short read like this one, I think the sexy times were enough. I enjoyed the steamy moments between them. I also liked the side characters – Gus, the adorable kid and Cary and Heath’s friends.
I found the unnecessary drama in the end very annoying. I really didn’t understand why the author choose to complicate everything for them , but whatever.

Overall, a nice enough read!

This book made me really happy. I liked these guys. I liked the growth and where it took them, they both had some growing up to do for sure. Overall a sexy, romantic and well, just beautiful Friday read. There were some editing issues that could be easily fixed but not enough to take away from the joy of the story. Read.

I found this story ridiculously cute and entertaining.

At 24, Cary was dumped by his boyfriend of 4 years, because the insecure asshole was jealous that their surrogate wasn't 6 months pregnant with *his* own little swimmers. After agreeing to it.

But years later, the once-burned Cary has moved on and has a truly amazing 3 year old son, Gus, to show for it. I loved how Gus was written in this story. A quiet, little joy who loved to get filthy and spend time with his daddy. Death by cute, people, seriously.

Heath is bisexual, 32 year old, an oil driller and owns his own yacht chartering business. He also has zero desire for a relationship. And a kid? Which way to the nearest exit? "Uhh, why is there a 'Heath-shaped' hole in the back wall?" Yeah, *that*.

Cary and Heath first meet at their mutual friend's no-kill animal shelter, where Cary witnesses Heath's veritable "girl of the month club", so Heath must be straight, right?

Enter Kyle. God, it was LOVE at first sight with me and Kyle. Irreverent, smartass of a man-child that he is. *MWAH* Full-on smack on the lips for Kyle, because there's awesome and then there's Kyle. Sorry, had to put that out there.

Purely by chance, Cary runs into Kyle at a local gay sports bar (who knew they existed, right???) and within about 3 minutes, Kyle ever so eloquently busts Heath right out of the closet that Cary had mentally hot boxed him into.

Gentlemen to your starting blocks and let the eye-fucking begin!

Sparks fly and Cary and Heath begin knocking boots, with the up-front understanding that there were no strings attached. Or that there ever would be.

But they get to really know one another and develop a deep bond, which comes to a head when Heath takes Cary and Gus out on his yacht. And Heath *never* takes hookups or, God forbid, their kids out for a day on his boat.
Cary glanced toward them to see Gus had fallen asleep in Heath’s lap. Heath was humming something quietly to himself, or maybe to Gus. Cary felt a knot form in his throat and offered to take Gus from Heath.

He’s fine,” Heath said peacefully. Cary just nodded and stared at them until they were back in the dock in Pensacola Beach. “Okay, now you can take him,” Heath said. “I have to go handle the mooring, check things out.” He thought he heard a catch in the man’s voice.
And when they get scared and both men run for the hills, it's Kyle to the rescue, again.
So, now you’re done with him, do you mind if I hit that?

What?” Heath asked, drily.

I mean, we’ve shared before, right? Hell, you’ve fucked me. He’s hot.” He cut his eyes toward Heath, boyish mischief flashing in their green depths. “I’ve always thought I’d make a good step-daddy.

Heath sat up, quickly, pointing a finger in Kyle’s face. “Back. Off. Y’hear me?

Touchy, touchy.” Kyle brushed imaginary lint from the shoulder of his sleeveless shirt. “One might say you were…” He leveled Heath with his gaze. “Jealous.

Heath’s mouth opened, closed, opened, closed.

You’re jealous!” Kyle said, pointing with both fingers. He jumped to standing and did his annoying I-told-you-so victory dance.

Oh, shit. Was Kyle right? There had been a blind fury that swept through him when Kyle said he’d wanted to hook up with Cary. It had gotten even worse when he said he’d try to be a part of Gus’s life.
Yep, like I said, Kyle really is pretty damn awesome.

The rest of the story is dancing around feelings and the boys convincing themselves more than one another that they both could and *should* be together.
"I want more than that. I want Cary. And Gus. I want to matter to them.” Holy shit. When had that happened? When had he not realized they were important to him and he wanted to be just as important to them. When had he been blindsided by those two?

He knew, though. It’d been that first trip on the boat. He remembered the fleeting thought that he would sell all his worldly possessions if it meant a lifetime of days like that one day. He hadn’t been looking for it, didn’t need to be fixed or changed, didn’t require a family or love to survive. But now he’d had it and he wanted to keep it. He fucking wanted it and he wanted it with Cary and Gus Whitmore.
It's a really fun ride watching Cary and Heath reach their happily ever after.
"Isn’t this where we realize we almost sank, but we gotta keep swimming?
The story was a real treat and I highly recommend it.

This was an enjoyable book, but I'm afraid I never 100% warmed up to MC Heath. And the ending was HFN, and just left me... Sad. I know there is a sequel, a story focusing on Kyle, and I'd imagine they'll be an update in there about these 3, Heath, MC Cary and his son Gus, but I'm just a little too sad to read that story right now. I went ahead and read the sequel. There wasn't much of Heath, Cary and Gus, but they did get their HEA.

Wish I could recommended this one with great confidence, but I just can't. After letting the story settle with me for a few days, I may update this review. The book was sweet, but the last 20% threw me way off course.

3.5--Gus Stole the Show--Stars!!

Not my favorite Kade Boehme book but a good read nonetheless!

I'd classify it more as a novella as it was just over 100 pages. So not a lot of time for story and character development.

The story begins with Cary getting dumped by his long term partner. Right in the middle of having a baby together via surrogate.

Three years later and Cary is a single dad to the adorable Gus. He run his own dog bakery and doesn't spend much time dating.

Heath volunteers at a no-kill shelter from time to time with Cary. They flirt and make eyes at each other. Heath is bi-sexual and doesn't make his attraction to men public knowledge. His day job with roughnecks wouldn't approve.

Heath doesn't date or do relationships and he definitely doesn't like kids.

But he likes Cary and over time he starts to realize he likes Gus too.

I really liked the addition of Gus! He was sweet and cute. And Cary was a fantastic dad! For whatever reason though, I just couldn't connect with Heath.

And the whole "conflict"....

Really Heath? Really?

Luckily the conflict wasn't drawn out and everything wrapped up with a nice little HEA.

And just a side-note....there weren't enough sexy times either! Just saying.....

So yeah, liked this one but didn't love it! Still a fan of the author!! And I'm excited to see that Kyle will be getting a book!

I quite enjoyed this even though I've probably read several similar stories already. Apparently I like this little recipe. It had just the right amount of realistic believability, enough angsty push and pull, and of course some good feels. I would have welcomed a bit more smex but that's typically always the case. Easy reading for those willing to take the plunge.

I enjoyed this one! It had a well balanced storyline—single dad Cary gets ready to start dating again, and can't resist drooling over happy-to-be-single guy Heath. Luckily the details of the plot isn't as predictable as the setup implies.

It's a cute story but the book had a realism tone about it, which I found refreshing, even in the bedroom scenes. I was seriously hooked on the first three quarters of the book, and even though I enjoyed the finale, I would have preferred that particular segment shorter. Probably because there wasn't any question about the outcome of that last bit of drama.

Definitely going to read more books by this author!

I really wanted to love this. It just didn't work for me. Both MCs had their share of issues that really made it hard for me to believe in their relationship. Things happened that just didn't sit well with me. Maybe I was in the wrong state of mind for this today. I know others will read this and love it (Kade is an awesome writer, after all). Maybe I can read it again in the future and love it too.

Ok, I liked this better than I thought I would when I started. Gus was adorable, a four year old who acted like a four year old, not like some overly wise, precocious wunderkind. It took a bit for Heath to grow on me, but he did.

But I have to say, once again, the author really needs a better editor. Missing words, wrong words. Not terrible, but enough to notice several times. It feels more like just the author typing faster than his brain, and not bad writing, but still, it's noticeable, in nearly every book I read by him.

Fucking Kade! Making me all weepy and heartbroken then making me all happy and smiley. How annoying! I loved this book. Like crazy loved it! It wasn't all that long but sure packed a punch. And that first sex scene in the shop...whoa. Nice! Would have loved to see Cary's douchey ex trying to get back with him so Cary could grab his nuts and make him cry like a baby though. Is that mean? Great read!!

The story of Cary, a single daddy living a simple life, owning his business and raising his 3 year old love, Gus. After a heart breaking breakup several years earlier, Cary had not thought about hooking up with anyone let alone falling in love.

Heath, loving the single life, hooking up and saying that's all folks, loved his life...so he thought.

Both men, crushing on each other, finally let their desire win over and hooked up in passion high fun. Both, know this was just a "hook up" and nothing more tried to let the other go with just a friend title.

Love had it's own ideas for how these two men should be feeling. As the two men embark into the unknown of what their relationship could be fell hard. With insecurities and letting go of the single life, Cary and Heath, make mistakes and lose their footing in the mud of love.

When saying good bye to the two men that Heath knows he loves but should walk away from, both men realize, letting what they have go would be foolish. It is time to see what good they can have together with a cutie pie topping of mini fingers and toes, Gus, to keep them swimming into forever.

Cary+Gus+HeaF = LOVE!!! The feels!!! 'Can't stop smiling at the end... father and son Cary and Gus deserved so much for they kept swimming through life and with Heath's arrival - gawd! gawd! it's a beautiful, angsty, gooey-inducing romance!!!

I just can’t stop smiling after reading this beautiful story from Kade Boehme. It’s just perfection for me and this would be the first five stars I’m awarding the author. I just loved Cary, his son Gus and Heath! I mean, this was like the most adorable reads I’ve had in years! Kade just totally hit every spot here. There’s romance, the feels and just enough loving that would melt you like Hershey’s.

I loved the fact that the author didn’t feel the need to put too much drama in it because the situation of Cary (with his son) was heavy enough that they don’t need another complication to add in the bunch. I also adore Gus at no end – such a cutie and I loved how he cannot pronounce TH. It was just so cute!

I mean, cmon' Kade Boehme - please gimme wedding bells for these two!!!! pphhllluueeaassee!

I usually don’t like “bisexual” characters because I just can’t see them settling down even in a story but this one’s nicely done and there’s really that strong connection between Cary and Heath.

Hmmm... Do you think if I cut and paste Valerie *M/M Romance Junkie's review, she'd notice?! Because that's exactly how I felt as well! Exactly.

Well, okay, maybe it worked for me a little more than it worked for her, but overall I just wasn't as impressed with this as I was with some of Boehme's previous books (I heart Trouble & the Wallflower hard, for the record).

For me, this was a "more (or less, as the case might be) than a sum of its parts"-type book. I thought that the basic plot of the book was really fresh and compelling. I liked both of the main characters and thought that Boehme had done a good job of making them three-dimensional and relatable to his readers. The characters had some pretty damn sexy times together between the sheets (and on office desks and against walls...). And though I would have liked to see just a little more direct interaction between both MCs and Gus, the kid was as adorable as all get-out. The book also had a hard won HEA, which I appreciated.

But for all of the things Keep Swimming had going for it, I just didn't connect to its characters as deeply as I did to the ones in Trouble & the Wallflower or Wood, Screws, & Nails.

I'm struggling to put my finger on exactly why this is so, and I think it might have been a combination of dialogue and plot points. I mean, I know it's more realistic to give the characters a messy back and forth relationship where time after time they screw up, say and do the wrong things, and have to fix it. But sometimes I felt like their more realistic bumbling took all of the moments that should have been super duper romantic and took the shine off of them. It was like getting to the part at the movie where the characters lean in to one another to bear their hearts and share a kiss and the music swells in the background. Only, instead of playing something romantic, it was polka music or a tin can band. When this happened, I felt a little cheated. I wanted/needed just ONE movie-perfect moment there at the end to feed my mushy marshmallow of a heart.

So not a bad or poorly written book by any stretch of the imagination, and I know that it will be loved by many readers, but it's just not my favourite by Boehme.

*shrugs*

Really, it's his own damn fault for setting the bar so high with his previous books. ;)

This was a very cute story. Stories where kids feature heavily can be hit or miss for me. I'm not much of a kid person, myself, much like one of the MC's in this one, so sometimes I just don't relate to stories where kids are so present. However, I loved this one. Gus was one adorable kid.

Cary Whitmore is a 28 year old gay man with a 3 year old son. He doesn't trust easily, since his last partner of 4 years left because their surrogate wasn't pregnant with his kid. What a jerk! Well, all I can say is that Cary and his son Gus are much better off without him. Anyway, Cary has been raising Gus on his own, while at the same time, trying to get his business off the ground. Gus is a wonderful little boy and I think that Cary is doing a great job. It doesn't leave much time for dating, but Gus is Cary's first priority, anyway.

Heath Cummings is 32 and has been working on oil rigs for years. It's good money and he's been saving as much of it as he can. He also owns a charter boat business that he'd love to expand, and in a year or so he should have enough money to do that. Until then, though, no way is he coming completely out for fear of ending up shark bait. Heath also doesn't do relationships - with men or women. He likes the single life, not having to answer to anyone. That is, until Cary.

He and Cary meet at a local animal shelter, where they both volunteer. Cary assumes that Heath is straight, since he often brings his "flavor of the week" women with him to the shelter. When Cary sees Heath at a gay sports bar, though, and finds out that Heath is bi, well, he's definitely interested, but he's still wary. Cary and Gus both get under Heath's skin, but he has no experience at this relationship stuff and has a tendency to screw up. A lot, and some times spectacularly so.

For the most part, this story is pretty low angst. Heath, in spite of his assertion that he's not a kid person, is actually really good with Gus. It catches him completely off guard. And Cary, well, he has some trust issues and the fact that Heath is bi triggers his insecurities. He knows it's irrational, but it's there and it does cause its own problems. The only thing that kind of made me go "huh?" was the way their relationship very nearly ended. I really thought they both owed each other enough to talk things through before deciding that they weren't going to work, and they do, but later than I would have thought. Beyond that, though, I loved this story.

When his partner of four years leaves Cary Whitmore unexpectedly, Cary has to grow up fast to raise the little boy they were expecting together. Gus Whitmore is the light of Cary's life and you can tell that in everything he does.

Enter Heath Cummings. He works on an offshore oil rig and volunteers at the dog shelter that Cary's neighbor and friend owns. He's the eternal bachelor. He doesn't want a relationship or kids. He's got a different girl on his arm every time Cary sees him, but Cary can't help but look. Heath is hot and he looks at Cary like he wants to eat him, but Cary knows he couldn't get involved with Heath because he's not about to become the next notch on Heath's headboard.

Except sometimes things don't happen the way you want them to, but 'sometimes things work out the way they are supposed to.' Heath and Cary can't keep their hands off of each other and Gus worms his way into Heath's heart too. Watching their relationship unfold with all of its bumps and curves is amazing and heartbreaking. Cary is incredibly insecure about Heath's exes (the were mostly one night stands of sorts since he doesn't really do relationships but he was married at one point) and about the fact that he is bisexual.

It's a valid concern for Cary, but I'm really glad that Kade made it Cary's issue and didn't make Heath a cheater, because I'm sick to death of the stereotypical bisexual who can't keep it in his pants, regardless of the sexual partner's gender.

This book hit me in a place I wasn't expecting and broke me hard, but the ending. *sobs*

Another easy 5 star for me from Kade. Everyone should give it a try.

LOVE IT!!

Kade is an auto buy for me and once again he did not disappoint me.
This is a sweet, loving story about one guy who was hurt by a partner and 4 yrs later is just now coming out of his shell. The other one is working a job to make money so he can "retire" and do what he has always wanted to do. But in doing that job he has to pretend to be something he's not.

Lots of bumps and learning and growing.

I cried, I laughed and I stayed up past my bedtime to finish!

I actually had a hard time with this book. I loved and hated it. I loved the heat of it. There was just something off.

I did not like Heath that much. He may have valid reasons for being a man-whore but they just didn't wash for me. I did not like that Heath's ex Becca was still in the picture. I do not like books where ex's are all around unless they have kids together.

I did like Cary a bit more than Heath but not by much. He was a bit of a pushover. So I rated at 3*. Just average.

This was almost a DNF for me but I'm glad I hung in there. Sweet story with some great characters. I thought the relationship between the MCs was pretty realistic under the circumstances but that the conflict resolution wrapped up a little too quickly. I look forward to reading more in this series.

I went into this with little to no expectations, as I've never heard of this author before. I found the book based on the author's name to fit a reading challenge I'm participating in.

The book is a little more wholesome than I'm used to reading to be honest, but it was cute! There were a few spicy scenes that made it a little less cutesey too.

MC is a gay single dad who has pretty much given up on dating after his ex walked out on him and the baby. He meets the other MC Heath through mutual friends and has no expectations as he doesn't know if he's gay, straight, etc. After months of flirting, they finally give in to their attraction and it goes from there.

The writing was easy to follow and stay engaged in. The characters were mostly interesting, but the book was definitely slow at times too.

I'd read others by this author though.

This story was an absolute delight.A light fluffy romance Between Heath, a relationship phobic and Cary a father of a 3 yrs old son, who's partner Marshall, bailed out on him when they were expecting the baby. With a couple of helpful neighbors and friend in the mix, it was a perfect read and what I was looking for.

While rating this story, I had a fierce battle.
Heart Vs Brain

My Brain: "3.5 stars max 4."

My Heart:"5 Stars,nothing less."

My Brain:"Why? you are such a girl.."

My Heart: "Oh Gus and Cary is so sweet."

My Brain:"Whats so new about it,Kid and a single father always made you swoon."

My Heart:"Yeah, I know but even side characters were such nice people in this story."*holding my trump card for last*.

My Brain:"Ha, all these sappy stories are usually filled with them.*grumbling*

My Heart:"What about the Cover of the book?I am sure that's Heath and he is so hot."

My Brain:"Shut up you idiot, that's a marketing policy."

My Heart:"Okay,I had enough, you cynical ass,I am in love with Heath the relation phobic big all Man,hard from outside, soft from inside, MC. Which you won't understand.Brute."

My Brain:"Prove it..."

My Heart:*Bristling with indignation* "Read these lines....

Heath: "What the fuck?!” His yell was hoarse, then he plopped to sitting on the bed and dug his fingers in his chest. Why wouldn’t it stop hurting?

Kyle shut the door behind himself and took a knee in front of Heath. “Hey, Heath, buddy. You’re okay. You’re good.”

“It hurts. I think it’s a panic attack or something.” He smacked his chest again, but Kyle grabbed his hand and stilled it. Then with his other hand he reached up and wiped Heath’s cheek. When he pulled the hand away and it was wet he dried it on his pants leg.

“Did Cary see something?” Kyle asked quietly.

“I couldn’t think of how to get her to stop without outing myself. I was gonna tell her to get her drunk ass off me, but Cary came in and he’s so mad. I was hard… I mean… it was just a reaction but I’d never...”

Kyle grimaced sympathetically. “Cary break things off?”

“I think so,” he said miserably. Fuck, his chest hurt again, like he was empty in there and it was trying to cave in. He tried to bang on it again, but Kyle held his hand firmly and wiped Heath’s wet cheeks again.

“Big guy, that’s your heart breaking.”

“I didn’t know it hurt physically.” That wasn’t possible. Why did people write songs about this shit if it felt like hell? Who wanted to relive this over and over?

Kyle smiled gently. “There’s a lot about that particular organ you didn’t know until recently. I hate you had to find out the hard way.”

“Make it stop,” Heath pleaded.

****
My Brain: Bit ashamed "yeah that chapter was good." admits defeat.

My heart: Yay.*Dancing with Glee* Don't be such a sore loser, you know you enjoyed it.Now just go and declare it.Let me tell you a secret,My Brain kept reading the book after the story ended, went to the extent of reading Author's Bio."

Cary Whitmore is a single gay man with a three year old he's raising on his own after his long term partner left him early on in the pregnancy. They had made the decision to have a child, found the surrogate and gotten pregnant. But Cary's ex left him alone and struggling for reasons that reveal themself in the book, which just make you hate the guy even more. Cary's number one focus is little Gus and then his business the Dog Barkery. He hasn't dated since before Gus was born, and rarely hooks up. But there is something about the tall blonde that volunteers at the animal shelter that piques Cary's interest. When he meets his best friend out at a local gay bar for a drink, the last person he expects to see is Heath, the spine tingling sexy man from the shelter.

Heath Cummings swings both ways, he's the if I'm interested in them the plumbing doesn't matter, type. Having married his best friend when they were young, dumb and got knocked up... only to loose the baby and almost his best friend, he has a strict 'no children' policy for the people he plays with. Yes, I said plays with, because Heath is out for numero uno only and the words commitment, love, and emotion are not in his vocabulary. That is until one tall, dark and handsome single father gets under his skin.

A chance encounter ends with Cary in Heath's lap sans clothing at the Barkery, in Cary's office, and the two decide to use each other for weekly tire rotations. The sex is off the charts amazing, but soon both men find themselves getting more attached than the situation calls for. Cary is worried about bringing anyone into Gus's life, or falling in love with an emotionally unavailable man that will no doubt break his heart in the end. Heath is completely blown away by Cary, Gus and the every growing feelings he has for both of them. He didn't think he was capable of the love that he is starting to feel. And it scares the living shit out of him, literally. But communication is not either of these men's strong suit from the start, and one miscommunication too many threatens to implode their already fragile "friendship".

What an adorable, slightly angsty, definitely sexy, just a little quirky, sarcastic and emotional love story this was! I LOVED the inner monologue playing in Heath's mind at the start of the story. Boehme has this knack for creating realistically flawed characters and impossible relationships that turn into down to earth, good old fashioned love stories. Both men struggle for various reasons throughout, some of their reasons align while they also have very different reasons to doubt not only their ability to love, but to be loved as well. Boehme brought the emotions and the passion to the pages and had me hooked from the start and praying these two would pull their heads out of their asses and just commit to each other already!

This is a must read for those that like a story that makes you "feel" because Keep Swimming will keep you reading, and feeling until the end. I was standing up in my bed screaming at my kindle toward the end, and then I was laughing and fist pumping the air. I seriously got into this book.
