THIS: Blake & Emon

Rate this book
Sometimes love comes knocking at your door. Sometimes it crashes through it.

Blake Bishop wasn't looking for love, but fate had other plans. When a wounded stranger stumbles into her living room, she finds a connection she can't shake and a man who sees her soul. Emon Dowlen has always lived by his own rules, but Blake awakens something in him he never knew he needed—a desire for something real, something permanent, something worth changing for. Their connection is instant, undeniable, and completely inconvenient but together, they discover that love doesn't need explanation or justification.

Sometimes it just is.

Blake! I know you've been taught to never judge a book by its cover, right? Uhhh hmmmm..... but yet you did anyway. 👀 I get it that Emon happened upon you in the most unconventional way possible, but he was always straight up with you. He was intentional about his pursuit of you, and what he wanted to build with you. Just took Blake a minute to get with the program and to quell all those doubts out of her head. Emon was a man's man, who wanted to take care of, spoil, cherish, and love his woman. He did that to perfection! Now, there were breadcrumbs in here that could lead to a book for Brooks and Taylor. Cause what is it that they got going on? Sweet love story.

I loved this book. There is something about a black woman being loved correctly with no drama and no miscommunication that I love to see.

Emon crashed into Blake's life by accident but from the first time they laid eyes on each other they knew there was something there. With her profession as a nurse she felt it was her duty to help him when he needed it but his eyes told her that she would have helped him anyway. He felt a need to repay her so when he came to "visit" her again he told her as much and once she agreed to go on a first date with him it was only up from there. I liked how he wanted to cater her and spoil her but also ask about her day and how she was doing and it was crazy how he was able to just look at her and tell something was off after not knowing her for a long time. I also appreciated that as much as he wanted to do for her, she wanted to do for him too so it wasn't one sided and it just seemed right. Although it seemed like it moved fast, it wasn't an instalove per se and their interactions with each other just flowed naturally before they actually made it official. I appreciated the side characters in the story too and how they both had big hearts with a knack for helping others. I enjoyed the love story with these two who were definitely meant to be together.

Emon and Blake!!

Emon and Blake met under unusual circumstances that was truly fated. They showed each other unconditional love and didn't hold back from one another once they got together. I loved how Emon treated and spoiled Blake. The way that Emon not only loved Blake but also supported her aspirations was an excellent part of the story. Their vibe and how they had no drama come up between them made the story amazing. A special part of the book to me was when he gave her his Christmas gifts. It brought tears to my eyes as I had the same sentiments about my mother. This was simply a romance book that was filled with love, emotional moments and fiery love scenes. Great couple and great storyline!!

This book felt like a warm hug. With the way that they met, you’d think there would be some unsavory shenanigans in this story. But nope, it was just 2 people with big hearts that loved on each other properly. No games. No drama for real. Just them. There was one scene towards the end that I think the author could have left out or had it earlier on in the book because it was very uncharacteristic to the FMC and their relationship. But they moved past it very quickly and it didn’t take away from the story. There were also some other underlying plot points like being there for your friends, not prejudging people, and also just allowing yourself to love and be loved regardless of what other people may say.

Oh how sweet it is to be loved by you.

Emon and Blake were the epitome of sweet love. If I had to give one word to describe them, it would be cherish. They fell into such an easy relationship that it felt almost too good to be true. This story was written so well. Oftentimes, when I read a super sweet story, I'm half rolling my cynical eyes, but with these two, it just felt so authentic and natural. I loved them. I needed this reminder that if he wants to, he will.
Be prepared to swoon, blush, and kick your feet the entire read.

Thank you for seeing me….

They met unconventionally but that one encounter didn’t hinder the instant attraction and curiosity of wanting to know more. Emon was a MAN! He was intentional in everything he did with Blake. He spoke things into existence; he was simply being patient, waiting on Blake to catch up LOL.

This was so freaking cute, I spent the whole time reading this with a smile on my face.

Blake & Emon are couple goals, the way they didn’t play when it came to each other, I ate it up.

The plot also kept me interested, I love them way Emon contributed to the community.

Will definitely be finishing the series.

Emon was for real real. Blake was the right amount of goodness. Together, they were truth and true love. You need to read this one.

Emon crashed into Blake's life and left his mark. He cemented his place in her heart. To dive right in, I *hated* how Blake treated her friends and her family. While it's necessary to have boundaries, she was way too harsh with her brother and way too defensive over Emon. Her randomly accusing him of cheating near the end was so abrupt and dumb. But it was a good romance nonetheless.

His love ran deep...

You know how they say, "Grandma, you put your foot into these greens." Well, that's exactly what C. Monet did. This is not a work of art but a masterpiece. Emon and Blake's story molded together like the perfect clay pot on a Sunday evening. Emon may have stumbled into the wrong apartment. However, he embedded his feelings in the right heart. Blake may not have known then how much she needed Emon in her life, she soon found out. He was the emotional, educational, and physical support that anyone pursing higher education yearns for. Emon, having his mother still in his life, gave Blake the motherly love that she had been missing. ViceAnne had a heart made of gold because she swooped in like a thief in the night for those kids. She will be raising those kids like her own. The kids' living and parental situation was disheartening. Emon followed his heart and made sure those kids were in a safe, clean environment so they could thrive. Emon was that guy it took Blake's brother Brooks to get used to him. Brooks was overprotective of his sister, so any old man couldn't step to her or get all in her space. Emon proved him and everyone else wrong because his love for Blake ran deep.

Ladies and gentlemen, grab your Kindles so you can download this masterpiece. I can ensure you that you will not be disappointed. C. Monet put the pen to the paper and wrote a romance like no other. Get into it, you will thank me later.

Sweet and intentional read

This was the warmest most intentional unproblematic non obstacle Story that I have read in a minute. I thoroughly enjoyed the love and journey Of Emon and Blake... The way that they met though unconventional spearheaded an entire story about love and loyalty and trust and following your heart. I think Emon was a man's man because that man had me my man my man my Manning. When I tell you if my future husband don't come correct like this man in this book he's not a foreigner because everything he did for Blake was done with intention of her being his future wife. He never doubted what he knew was his future and he went after that. Lake though she was not really sure at some point just had to throw caution to the wind and let life take her where it was meant to take her and she trusted that instinct. All in all if you all have not read this story you are missing out miss Monet did her thing. A highly recommend you go read.

It’s gonna be 4s across the board, Emon was everything I want for an MMC. I cannot say the same for Miss Blake. She was hard working and seemingly kinda fun but as the story progressed she was insufferable, judgmental and self centered. The whole thing between her and Tay had me looking at her crazy. It was too many instances of her being nasty with her home girls for me to like her. Like Paige joking at lunch and you getting mad like I’m sorry sis was WEIRD AF and a terrible friend. Like Chile I would hate to sit with her for brunch. I get why she was offended by Taylor not opening up to her but in the same breath she was not a good friend, part of that is on the author cus we ain’t even really know about Taylor until after Denver and they lil girl meet up. Like dang this ya bestie that works with you and you not checking in on her EVER??? Overall it’s a really good story but Blake gonna annoy you

Love Through Brokenness

This story follows Blake & Emon, these two characters are navigating their love, pain, and passion in a world full of complications. Their chemistry is undeniable, but so are the obstacles past trauma, loyalty, & life circumstances.

C. Monet’s voice was bold and real. The dialogue was sharp, emotional and kept me hooked. Yes, I would recommend this book to others. Blake and Emon are the main characters for this book.

Love isn’t always clean or easy, but it can be powerful. The story explored loyally, emotional healing & self- worth in ways. Blake had depth, intensity & a mysterious edge. Emon was strong but also vulnerable - I appreciated his strength and emotional honesty.

I felt emotionally drawn into their story. It reminded me that love can be complicated and messy, but it also healing and transformational if both people are willing to grow.

No Take Backs Necessary

This book had me unexpectedly smiling so much y'all! Although entering her life and apartment in error, Elon and Blake's story was a reminder how some things aren't planned but they are still not mistakes. I loved everything about their story. Even the bumps that helped Blake grow- and although it was frustrating at times because it felt like she was self-sabotaging we did get to see that growth on page.

Emon was who he said he was from the beginning to the end, and I loved every thing about him as a MMC character. I equally loved the co-star characters and the way that Vicey stepped up for the new additions to the family. I wish that her confrontation with that raggedy Pilar would have been captured on page, but I digress.

Overall, I really liked this sweet but still steamy and funny tale about love and family. It was really a good read!

Extraordinary Love

A novel of blessings, love, trust, support, commitment, and communication. Some key elements in developing, stabilizing, and creating everlasting love. I loved this novel because C. Monet brilliantly covered a love life that every woman desires.
In times like these, this author gave us a novel that helps us to still hope, dream, and believe that love can find us in any unknown situation.
Emon, hurt and wounded, stumbled into Blake’s apartment in the most frightening and unusual way; nevertheless, he ended up giving her a life time of extraordinary love, protection, value, and joy, not heartaches, betrayal, and doubts.
A Grand Applause to This Author!

Love❤️ They Found Love❤️

I really enjoyed reading Blake and Emon’s love journey and I can appreciate the fact that they didn’t have any crazy hating drama from exes, situationships, nor delusional pick me’s. Just a sweet love story that began with unexpected crossing paths that evolved with them loving on each other unapologetically. I wanted to dislike Taylor for her being so judgmental but she redeemed herself to the point that I can’t wait to read Brooks, a street nicca, and Taylor, passa’s daughter book coming out next. I also wanted to know what if anything transpired between Paige and Gio.

This was the most low stakes, no drama, low angst straight forward romance I've ever read. I loved it! Sometimes you just want a pure love story with little to no bullshit and this book was that. I loved Blake and Emon together. Emon was a real man. Very intentional. There were no games being played with him. Though the first time he met Blake was in an unconventional way, he knew from the beginning that there was something different about her. Blake was hesitant at first to let him in but when she finally did she embraced his love and gave just as much. They were perfect together. I highly recommend this if you want a palate cleanser romance with no bullshit involved. Just love.

A beautiful uncomplicated story. I kept waiting for the drama, but there was none.

The blessing to each other, Blake and Emon. It was an unconventional meeting that put these two on a beautiful journey to love. When you know, you know, and Emon knew and claimed his forever.

My man Emon had me in tears on their Christmas day. His thoughtfulness, kindness, and unwavering love was received and revealed loud and clear.
Blake was on her business as well. She had dreams and wasn't going to let her dreams and goals be deterred. Balance, trust, and respect were three keys to their successful relationship.

Let’s chit chat about this story.

What I love about this story is how Emon knew exactly what he wanted and he went for it. He let Blake know from the beginning exactly what he needed and wanted. What I didn’t like was Blake being a negative Nancy when it came down to seeing herself being loved on and getting all she deserved. Like bffr girl. She knew what her past relationship was like, saw how different Emon was. He was truthful about everything and she was waiting to catch him in lie for about 80% of the book, like don’t piss me off. Other than Blake doing the mostest lmfao this was a really cute read!

Favorite book couple

I’m upset because I know if I leave my door unlocked ima have a swamp possum in my living room instead of an Emon.
Emon is PRESSURE! That man was getting stitched up in a living room telling her exactly what it was from that moment he moved intentionally. It’s not even “fluffy” it’s just pressure. The whole book Emon doesn’t let up. He wasn’t even on some “simp” stuff. He went after exactly what he wanted.
Crazy that she saved him the same way her father died. We need more fmc like Blake because she was nervous & skeptical but she let that man be a man.

Promise we’d have a family bonfire at Pilar house🤷🏾‍♀️

THIS: Blake & Emon

Idk why I waited so long but I’m glad I was finally able to dive in! The way this man showed up for our girl is what I desire! He was able to provide that safe space for her to be soft, continue to grow & learn herself better, he gave love rather soft or hard! He was also able to be her friend! She also gave him a safe space to show vulnerability, continuing growth & she poured into him just as much! This is the relationship I strive for, the happy balance! His mom is OG! Her brother & friends had me twisted for a minute but I’m ready to dive into them as well!

Blake and Emon were the definition of applying pressure and not letting up. Got me, wanna leave the front door unlocked and google feild care and how to remove bullets in case of emergencies 🤔!!

There was nothing twisted about his love. It was pure, intoxicating, all consuming, and I loved every minute of it!

"He thought Blake was a baddie. The baddest, to be honest, and she smelled like heaven, even after the gym".

If my man aint coming for melike this. I don't want em!

"He smelled exactly how her man should smell: strong, paid, and confident"... and was! 🥴

A Sweet Love Story. Plain & Simple

This was a simple love story. Straight. No drama, trauma, or heartbreak. It showed a men with clear intentions & a plan to make it happen. Now. Blake had a few moments where I wanted to pop her. She let doubt be a guide. But she got it together & realized a true gift. Emon is the type of man women dream of. It felt good to see Black Love Blossom.

Emon😍

The premise was super interesting. Imagine waking up and finding a guy in your house that you have to save from a gunshot wound because he came to the wrong apartment. And while Emon was everything, patient, kind, romantic and Blake honestly annoyed me. Emon was doing literally everything he could to show her he wanted her and she continued to question and down his efforts. The way she embarrassed him at that party I honestly felt like he forgave her too quick.

Perfection!

Pure perfection. Who would’ve thought that entering the wrong apartment could change the trajectory of their life? I loved watching their love unfold—they were exactly what each other needed. The story was beautifully written, with no miscommunication, just mature, heartfelt conversations. Exactly what I was looking for. I LOVED this so much and can’t wait to read more from this author!

That meant to be love ❤️

This was a wonderful read. I love the way these two first met and their developing relationship afterward. Emon is a straight shooter when it comes to his relationship with Blake. Blake has her doubts at first, but Emon proves he is a man of his word. This is the first book in a three-book series, and it is wonderful. As always, it's my pleasure reading your books 🥰.
