Lloyd’s education includes a diploma in Building Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Engineering Division, as well as accredited courses offered by the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto. An avid lifelong learner, Lloyd has also pursued a keen interest in the areas of spirituality, yoga, psychology and neuroscience and is well read in both leading scientific research and ancient writings of Eastern masters, knowledge he incorporates into his writing projects.
After four decades in the business world, Lloyd’s experience included running his own construction company, completing many complex construction projects in a career that culminated as a chief executive and primary leader in one of Canada’s Platinum 50 Best Managed Companies. Lloyd left the construction industry as the major shareholder in the ITC Construction Group in 2009 to pursue his love of writing, music and painting.
After studying novel writing and advanced screenplay at the University of Toronto’s School of Continued Studies, Lloyd began a new career path as an author. With ten self published works to his credit on Amazon, including his most popular title, Escape from Konigsberg, a coming-of-age novel set in the after-war theatre of WWII, Lloyd is a prolific author who writes every day for 3-4 hours. His first novel The Consultant (later changed to Point of Return) and Children of Pleiades, Rise of the Henge were Amazon best sellers in specific genres for a short period after publication.
Lloyd has recently completed a 256-page magical realism, time travel manuscript grounded in quantum physics, Autobiography of a Time Traveler. He has also written a follow up novel in the Metaphysical Quantum Action Romance genre about the potential futures of humanity, titled, The Quantum Paradox. Both novels in the duology are ready for publication and will be available in the near future.
Coming from a musical family, Lloyd is also a prolific songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician with three music albums to his credit, Road to Somewhere, Win Draw or Lose and his self produced self recorded vinyl LP, Still Breaking Bad, all available on digital platforms.
In addition to his work as an author and songwriter, Lloyd is an accomplished oil painter with pieces hanging in an upscale gallery on Vancouver Island. All of his creative works are on his website, https://lloydtosoff.com/.
A proud Canadian, Lloyd lives on a secluded acreage on beautiful Vancouver Island, with his wife, Karen and St. Bernedoodle puppy, Daisy. They have four grown children and four grandkids.
