Quickie read- 1st read by Sallinger. She makes second chance at love occur naturally and over similar tragedies in life. A second chance of this nature take time to achieve, but the wait is its own reward. Marianne and Carl had a connection from the very beginning. It went beyond the book club or the illness commonality.

I guess I'm a little torn on this one.

A man and woman meet on an online forum for a book club. That part is great -- what reader wouldn't want to indulge in a romance that began over books, right?

However, this is really the last mention of books in this tale. Alas.

She asks her husband for a divorce. His wife dies of cancer. The two communicate for eight years and get to know one another, without ever having meeting. But, they know it's love.

So, they arrange their first meeting.

Then here's where I got thrown off. The only real detail we learn is that he asks her to come without underwear.

Okay.

Then, they meet. And it ends.

That's all.
