Local newspaper journalist Chris Martin's working life is a mainly dull round of parish meetings and planning disputes. But then she's sent to interview rock star Rick Monday about the fete held in the grounds of his house and the next morning Monday turns up dead.
Bad Monday is well written, commendably error free and a generally easy read. However, I found myself becoming increasingly frustrated with the main character as she stumbles through the plot jumping to the wrong conclusions and blundering into situations.
It builds to a gripping enough conclusion but there were several times along the way that I despaired of ever getting there.
