Synopsis:
Life as the Young Decay drummer has its traveling the world, beautiful fans in every city, living out my rockstar dreams. Still, no glamorous life ever came without its pitfalls—namely, addiction, jealousy, and stalkers. Lucky for me, I ended up on the losing side of all three. For the last five years, I’ve fought tooth and nail for my sobriety, the forgiveness of my friends and family, and avoided anything that might put all that in jeopardy. I thought I’d moved on from the attack, from my stalker, from the drink that nearly took me out. I’m torn between exploring the growing feelings I have for the band’s new bodyguard and sabotaging everything for a glimpse of my stalker’s face. When danger from the past shows itself in the form of a phone call, the walls I built begin to crumble. Secrets are revealed. The past is winning. But with her at my side, I know I can conquer anything. And our rage is greater than my fear.
the first book in this series was amazing but the 2nd and this one were WAAAAY too long. at first it’s such a good plot but it just DRAGS for almost 800 pages????? so repetitive i think i’ll be skipping the 4th book 💔
Books and heavy metal are my kryptonite add in a dark romance series and I’m in literal heaven. Bedlam takes us to the drummer of the band and is a journey of love, loss, stalking and sweet revenge. It’s a FF romance packed with punches and a laundry list of trauma.
While saying that please do your diligence to mark sure this book is trigger appropriate because let me tell you this one’s got a list of them (and I loved every one) all I can say now is bring on Zeb and the elder emo in my is damn happy about the playlist!
“Because I owe you my very soul, Bonnie Miller… You’re the reason I’m still breathing. You’re my light… my darkness… You’re the steady beat in my veins… and I’ll spend every day making up for the pain I’ve caused you.”
As the drummer for Young Decay, she has spent years living the rockstar dream traveling the world, surrounded by adoring fans, basking in the thrill of the stage. But beneath the glamour lies a darker reality of addiction, jealousy, and a relentless stalker who nearly destroyed her.
For the past five years, she has fought for her sobriety, worked to rebuild trust with her friends and family, and avoided anything that might threaten her peace. She thought she had moved on from the attack, from the obsession that once consumed her life, and from the drink that nearly ended it.
Now, as feelings grow for the band’s new bodyguard, she finds herself torn between embracing a future filled with possibility and succumbing to the dangerous pull of her past. When a single phone call shatters her fragile sense of security, old wounds reopen, and the walls she built to protect herself begin to crumble.
Secrets come to light and the past refuses to stay buried. But with her by her side, she refuses to let fear win. Because their rage is stronger than her fear and this time, she’s ready to fight back.
•ARC review• Book 3 of the Young Decay series Already out and ready to be consumed on KU
Bedlam is the third installment of the Young Decay series and it was amazing. We now mainly follow Bonnie as she tries to deal with her unhealed trauma, all the while having to play drums in the band and hide her growing attraction for her stalk3r. Did I mention that that said stalk3r is her new band’s security staff?
I was so glad to be reunited with Young Decay, I missed them. Their dynamic, the playful banter, the ease with which the members act all together, now with Wren as well (I love her). Bonnie was always a bit of a mystery in the first two books of the series, so to finally witness what’s going on in her head in Bedlam was… interesting to say the least. Her personality hides a lot of traumatic experiences and with Gemma into the picture, being all tenderly abrupt and present in every spheres for Bonnie, my heart melted. They were so cute and perfect together, whether it be Gemma/Bonnie or Gemma the stalk3r/Bonnie. They were explosive and vibrant, full of color and life despite all that they’ve been through.
I thoroughly enjoyed Bedlam, the found family is heartwarming and I know I’ve said this before in regard of this series, but I absolutely love music, so it’s the best of both worlds to be immersed in this.
Thank you so much to Jack Whitney and Wicked Reads services for the arc!
I received this book as an ARC. Thank you for letting me read this amazing book.
Spice Rating: 🌶🌶🌶.5/5
When I tell you Jack Whitney knows how to write a book, I really mean she knows how to write a book. I just love her writing. This book is written very well. I am in love with the characters. The wording. The descriptions. The analogies. It was cute and funny. I was giggling.
You can feel the obsession Gemma has. The love she has for Bonnie. She's a real goner, for sure. I enjoy this type of Stalker books. I love to know who it is since the beginning. I just love knowing while reading. It makes it easier for me to understand. I enjoy the suspense, but I love knowing more.
And then the Cupid's Arrow app reference. Ugh, my heart, you would only understand if you've read Sweet Girl by Jack Whitney, too. 😍
Make sure you add this book to your TBR. Releases March 31st, 2025.
“she’s my crazy, my addiction, my deliverance, and damnation. she’s my bedlam.”
this book didn’t alter my brain chemistry, it rewrote the fabric of my soul. i don’t know who i was before them because this healed something in me i didn’t even know was hurting. their story was a manifestation of some silly teenage dream of mine i never dared conjure because i was unknowingly still in the closet. but this was for my avril lavigne loving self that wanted to be her (re: date her). they’re the epitome, the embodiment of sapphic yearning. their love made me weep; it was hauntingly poetic in its rawness and vulnerability. there was almost a gothic aspect to it, with the imagery of death surrounding it, that went beyond the mental illness of it all and bordered into vampiric elements – the queers will get it. well, duh, like of course your stalker will see you like no one else could, but she saw her. they recognized each other. and the “i see you” microtrope is my favorite, but make it sapphic and my lesbian depressed ass was read for filth. the only way i can describe it is that if this book was a song it’d be “people watching” by conan gray – and again, the queers will understand the experience. it will stay with me forever, bury me with them. this is indisputably and irrevocably my favorite dark sapphic romance.
* i was sent an arc by the author in exchange for a honest review
“She’s my crazy, my addiction, my deliverance, and damnation. She’s my bedlam.”
Starting this review, if you have not read Madness, what are you doing? Go download it bc this series is everything. I can barely put into words how much I feel for these books bc it made me feel everything in the end.
This book starts right where Chaos finishes, with Bonnie getting a text from her stalker. Her stalker that has not been in touch with her for almost 5 years. It just so happens that Young Decay gets new security and Gemma the lead of it. Suspicious?
The pining is this book is palpable from each MC, I didn’t care how many times I read how much they were drawn to each other, I ate up every word, every interaction and every battle to get to each other.
Definitely check your trigger warnings bc this book puts you through the wringer and also to the other side of everything. You feel all the emotions of what happened to Bonnie. You feel how much Gemma’s secret is killing her to keep from Bonnie. You get to feel true feminine rage for those who think they are owed things that are not rightfully theirs in the end: yourself.
This book will break you apart but also put you back together in the end. The music and the way it’s described as a healing power to each and every member of Young Decay, how they want their fans to feel from their music is so powerful, it’s like its magic.
I will never be over Bonnie and Gemma and how much they had to overcome to get to each other in the end. Gemma was there for anything that Bonnie needed when Bonnie didn’t think herself worthy and vice versa. Gemma knew what she was holding and held it with both hands and simply said, “I have you.”
How do I put into words the love that I have for Young Decay and these amazing characters who have snuck into my heart - with ease.
All the characters we have met so far, Bonnie's story was my most anticipated and I was not disappointed. Bonnie and Gemma's story is pure perfection, I adored this, it is a super close second to Mads and Andi - they my fav.
Bonnie's stalker, who we meet at the end of Chaos, is her saviour in more ways than one, but at what cost? She is our amazing drummer with a very dark and tragic past, and she needs to be saved, or does she? Gemma, the new bodyguard to the chaos that is Young Decay, has her work cut out for her. With her team, which includes Kade and Liam, they have to live on their toes, but they all share a secret.
Everything about this book was incredibly written, the yearning, the pining, the everything- aahh, yes please!!! I had to take a breathe a few times with how intense the emotions got but so so worth it.
I have read all 3 Young Decay books thus far and I still can not and will not choose a fav.
CHECK CHECK CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS!! This discusses some very difficult topics that will be triggering to a vast amount of people, your mental health matters
Thank you @jack.whitney.writer for the opportunity to read this as an ARC 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Bedlam was a fun continuation of the other two books. I love how each of them focuses on another part of the band and has its own mixture of action, romance and wholesome moments of friendship and found family.
I can't wait to see what the last book will give us. Bedlam made me warm up to Zeb even more, so I'm excited to finally crawl into his headspace in the next book and see what makes him tick.
"Red flags, Bon," "At least look both ways before you cross."
- sapphic - dark - st@lker - revenge
This book. I was obsessed. I could not stop reading. It was so perfectly written, I was constantly on the edge of my seat.
The main characters were both perfection, they were so drawn to each other, the tension was HIGH. There are secrets and trauma and hurt. It's action packed until the end. And it was all so beautifully done.
And the mystery continues into the next book which I can't wait for.
Check your trigger warnings though. I think Jack Whitney did a perfect job of laying them out and even put extra warnings in before the chapter which I loved.
I will accept ZERO criticism about this book. ZERO!!!
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE STORY AND JOURNEY! Immediately the plot hooks you, the angst and anxiety grab a fist full of you and the pain and heart break twist your heart and rip it right out of your chest. And then these amazing characters fix you right back up and kiss you.
10/10 recommend and will be on my knees begging for the next book.
Pre read notes: I’m excited for the next installment in the Young Decay world. Also scared..clocking in at almost 800 pages, she thicccc! And this will be my first dabble into sapphic romance. Usually those are stand alone books from what I’ve seen so I feel like this might be a better way to introduce me to it since it’s with Bonnie, a character I already love. Lets see what Bedlam has to offer 🤩
As others have said, if you haven't read the rest of the Young Decay series, what are you even doing?! Fell in love with Madness. Absolutely LOST my mind over Chaos. Now Bedlam just absolutely rocked my world. (Which while we're on topic, seeing Reed and Wren be typical Reed and Wren in this book was SO perfect, loved getting more of them)
Now, definitely check your triggers, this is a dark one.
Bonnie battles loss, grief, addiction, SA, stalking, and more, and is battling her sobriety throughout.
I truly don't have the words to do this book justice. It was dark, depraved, and twisty, but beautiful, soft, and sweet all in one. We've seen the band as a family through the last two books, but I feel like it was so much more in this one. The guys and their spouses continued to show up for Bonnie even when she wasn't always (or ever) giving them all of the information.
Bonnie and Gemma absolutely blew my mind! The tension, obsession, absolute fire chemistry *chefs kiss*
The transition from stalker to bodyguard was wild. Lol the whole time in my mind I'm thinking how in the world does Gemma keep it separate, but it's like she truly becomes a different person behind the mask.
10 stars if I could...laughter, (SO MANY) tears, heart racing suspense, it's got a little something for everyone.

Summary: Bonnie, the drummer of Young Decay, has clawed her way back from addiction, trauma, and heartbreak. Five years sober and keeping her distance from anything—or anyone—that might threaten that progress, she’s finally on stable ground. But with the arrival of Gemma, the band’s new bodyguard, everything changes. Sparks fly, boundaries blur, and when danger from Bonnie’s past resurfaces, it’s no longer just her sobriety on the line. As secrets unravel and tension mounts, Bonnie and Gemma must face their fears, confront their pasts, and lean into a love that might just save them both.
Short and Sweet Opinion: This book grabbed me by the throat and did not let go. Raw, intense, beautifully queer, and bursting with emotion—I was absolutely hooked.
In-Depth Opinion: Bedlam came highly recommended and delivered on every promise. This was my first venture into Jack Whitney’s world, and it immediately made me want to read everything they’ve written. Bonnie and Gemma’s story is an emotional rollercoaster—equal parts gut-wrenching and healing. The writing pulls you in with immediate stakes, visceral tension, and a heavy undercurrent of longing. I loved the found family dynamics, and the way Gemma’s quiet devotion to Bonnie added warmth and tension to every scene. Bonnie’s trauma and addiction are handled with care, and while the book doesn’t shy away from tough topics, it treats them with the weight and respect they deserve. The stalker storyline kept me fully invested, especially with the suspense of already knowing who it is—it made the unraveling even more intense. That said, this book is long—textbook-level long—and occasionally feels that way. Still, the payoff is worth it, and the depth of feeling makes it hard to put down. I do recommend checking content warnings first, because this story goes deep. But if you’re looking for intensity, love, and healing through pain, Bedlam delivers.
The Young Decay series is a dark, romantic suspense series centered around a metalcore band, featuring a sad boy masked bassist (Maddox), emo golden retriever lead singer (Reed), a daring, now sober/take-no-shit drummer (Bonnie), and a guitarist with a primal kink (Zeb). Intrigued? I bet you are!
I was waiting for something raw, crazy and dark, and Bedlam delivered it in spades. Sometimes, Bonnie's relationship with herself, her parents and her new-found family aka four dumb f*cks (canon), made me want to punch my pillow. There's danger.. a lot of trauma, coping by any means, and eventually healing. There are also light and comedic moments between characters. I absolutely adored her friendship with Zeb. Them meeting for the first time and their banter in 'splash pad/dream/tied to the bed' scenes - gold. I also appreciated moments with previous couples: Andi/Maddox and Wren/Reed. Zeb... I can't wait for your book, my dude! I know it will be absolutely wild haha + I hope to see that horror movie set themed tour.
I liked how creative and on point the DeathFest intro was (this is the end part of it):
Bedlam by Jack Whitney is an intense, dark romance that combines psychological drama with the energetic world of Metalcore music. In this third installment of the Young Decay series, we finally get to follow Bonnie, the strong-willed drummer and find out why she struggles with balancing her current inner demons with past traumatic experiences. I love how Bonnie’s journey through addiction and self-discovery is realistically portrayed, making her character relatable and engaging.
Whitney consistently does a great job of creating believable, relatable and lovable characters. Bonnie’s emotional ups and downs feel authentic, making her story that much more impactful as we follow along. Now we have Gemma, the band’s new security lead who has a link to Bonnie’s past and present as well as secrets of her own. Their chemistry obviously leads to a passionate but complicated romance.
I think the novel really tackles tough topics like addiction, mental health, stalking, fame’s pressures, and trauma with honesty and sensitivity. Whitney thoughtfully explores these themes without being overly dramatic. The backdrop of the metalcore music scene is a perfect environment to cultivate these characters and relationships and capture both the excitement and challenges of life in a band.
One minor drawback is that certain parts of the story felt slightly repetitive, particularly around Bonnie’s and Gemma’s internal struggles. A little more variety in these sections might have enhanced the pacing and kept the narrative consistently engaging.
Overall, Whitney’s writing style is immersive and emotional, effectively drawing you in and making you fall in love with the character she so thoughtfully crafted. The plot is well thought out and there is enough back story and character depth to make you feel invested and want to come back for more.
Bedlam is an engaging, emotional read perfect for those who enjoy dark/suspense romance, sapphic romances, and character-driven stories, especially if you are a fan of Metalcore music! Be sure to check your trigger warnings though! I’ve listed a few below
DISCLAIMER: I received an ARC copy of this book. But I was encouraged to complete an honest review and was in no way pressured to put certain things in my review or complete a review in general.
A Dark, Sapphic Rockstar Romance That Hits Hard 🖤🎸
Jack Whitney plunges us back into the intense world of Young Decay with Bedlam, a powerful and raw story centered on drummer Bonnie. This dark, sapphic romantic suspense delves deep into addiction, recovery, and the unexpected connection forged in the face of danger.
‼️Please be sure to check the author's content warnings before reading, as this book explores sensitive themes.
Synopsis: As the drummer for Young Decay, Bonnie's rockstar life has come with its share of darkness: addiction, jealousy, and a stalker. Years into recovery, she's trying to move on, but the past resurfaces when she develops feelings for the band's new bodyguard, even as her stalker's presence looms. When danger escalates, Bonnie and her bodyguard must confront the threats together.
My Thoughts: Getting Bonnie's full story was incredible. We've seen glimpses of her in the previous Young Decay books, but Bedlam truly allows her to shine, and her journey resonated deeply. Her struggle with alcoholism felt so real and relatable.
Gemma as the bodyguard/stalker was everything! The way she embraced her role and navigated her own complexities while fiercely guarding Bonnie was beautiful and, let's be honest, utterly delicious. It was also a treat to catch up with the couples from the first two books. Now I'm eagerly anticipating Zeb's story!
A gentle reminder to all readers: Please heed the author's content warnings for this book. Your mental well-being is important.

Final Thoughts: Bedlam is a powerful and gripping installment in the Young Decay series. Jack Whitney masterfully weaves together dark suspense with a compelling sapphic romance, all while exploring the raw realities of addiction and recovery. Bonnie's story is one of resilience and finding strength in unexpected places. Highly recommended, with a strong emphasis on reading the content warnings.
Get ready to dive into BEDLAM, the electrifying third book of the metalcore romantic suspense saga, Young Decay! Picking up right where the wild ride of Chaos left off, Bonnie gets a spine-chilling message from her stalker—yeah, the one who ghosted her for nearly five years!
As the fierce drummer of Young Decay, Bonnie's juggling her own demons; she's battling grief, wrestling with mental health, and overcoming a past filled with trauma and addiction, taking her sobriety one day at a time. Enter Gemma, the new security lead at a festival, and sparks fly! Little does Bonnie know, this stunning bouncer has been her secret guardian angel all along.
I’ll forever cherish Bonnie and Gemma’s whirlwind journey, dodging hurdles to discover their love. Gemma’s the rock Bonnie leans on during her wobbly moments, just as Bonnie is there to lift Gemma when the going gets tough. It’s a heart-thumping tale of support, connection, and the power of love!

I would like to rephrase this and sentiment for Jack Whitney and the Young Decay books.
I absolutely loved the Madness and Chaos and I couldn't wait to get my hands on Bedlam.
It was an incredible experience reading it, I was gripped from the start. It leads straight on from book 2 where you learn about Bonnie's stalker.
I can not tell you what my favourite part of the book was because the whole story gripped me and would not let me go. I loved learning more about Bonnie and how she came to be in the band, by jumping on stage to save their arses, to also learning about her inner turmoil and how she dealt with her feelings. It was an emotional rollercoaster that I did not want to get off.
I loved Bonnie and every single part of her and as much as I love Bonnie I loved Gemma just as much.
I never thought a stalker romance would be for me but god dam did this book make me question everything. The way she protects Bonnie and shows her she is worthy of it all is incredible. She definitely gives off don't f with me vibes and I am here for them both and could not get enough of them.
Every twist and turn of this book will grip, the characters are very relatable and will have you feeling all sorts of emotions.
I laughed, cried, giggled while kicking my feet in the air and punching the air with sheer joy and excitement.
Do not hesitate to read this book but do check the trigger warnings and keep them in mind when going into it.
Bedlam isn’t just a dark romance—it’s a bruised, breathing thing. It lives in the spaces where recovery isn’t linear, where love feels dangerous not because it’s toxic, but because it asks you to be seen when you’ve survived by staying guarded. Bonnie is the kind of character who feels real in an almost uncomfortable way: flawed, stubborn, exhausted, and still trying. Her history with addiction and trauma isn’t romanticized or rushed past; it lingers, the way real pain does. You don’t root for her because she’s perfect...you root for her because she keeps showing up anyway. The romance between Bonnie and Gemma burns raw and sharp. It’s intense without being hollow, sensual without losing emotional weight. What really works is the power balance: protection without possession, desire without erasure. (no spoilers)Their connection feels earned, built through tension, restraint, and moments of quiet vulnerability that hit harder than the explicit scenes ever could. This is sapphic romance written with teeth and tenderness at the same time. That said, Bedlam is heavy. Emotionally, psychologically, thematically. It doesn’t flinch from dark subject matter, and it absolutely demands that readers respect the content warnings. But if you’re someone who appreciates stories about survival, found family, and love that doesn’t magically fix everything..but makes living feel possible, this book delivers. It’s messy, painful, passionate, and ultimately cathartic. Bedlam isn’t an easy read, but it’s a meaningful one, and it stays with you long after the last page. Can't wait for the final chapter!!
**A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**
First and foremost, please check the trigger warnings for this book. The author does a fantastic job of letting you know what you’re in for, so please take care of your mental health.
Bedlam is the third book in the Young Decay series and follows Bonnie Miller, drummer. Bonnie is an enigma of a character, who I was excited to get to know. I was not disappointed. This entire book exists in a gray area and this author is queen of telling the story between the lines.
Bonnie’s story was rough for me to read and I took quite a few breaks to digest the things happening in the book. Oddly enough, it wasn’t the stalker becoming a lover that got me. It was Bonnie’s sober journey. It was her inner monologue and the sheer pain she experienced within her own mind. Reading the emotions was experiencing them right along with the characters. Jack Whitney writes emotions and conversations so well.
Bonnie and Gemma’s relationship is worth the read. The sparks and fire between these two are hot! If spicy scenes are your thing, then you will love Bedlam. I haven’t read many sapphic romances yet but this one is top of my list.
Lastly, this was a long book and my only negative was it didn’t completely hold my attention in certain moments between the action scenes. That being said, it is a good read and an excellent addition to the Young Decay series. Thanks to Jack Whitney for allowing me to read and review this ARC!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5 Star Rating Multi First Person POV (Bonnie & Gemma) Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Age Rating: 18+
🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀 🖤 This book is all about Bonnie and I love that Whitney finally brought her front center in Bedlam. This story was full of suspense mixed with a sapphic romance, with some strong depictions of addiction and recovery within the pages. As the third story in the series, I was definitely not let down, as I come to enjoy each one equally.
🖤 𝓹𝓵𝓸𝓽 🖤 This book takes off directly after Chaos ends, as Bonnie receives another text from her stalker, who she hasn’t heard from in a few years. But when Young Decay hires a new bodyguard, she begins to develops feelings for her, as her stalker watches from a distance. When things begin to grow morbid around them, they’ll have to face the threat together if they want to survive.
🖤 𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼 🖤 I loved Bonnie and Gemma’s relationship! Bonnie being the rockstar drummer of Young Decay and Gemma being her bodyguard was everything. Til now, Bonnie has been more of a background character in the series so it was nice seeing her chance in the spotlight with her story.
🖤 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓬𝓵𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷 🖤 Overall, this was a spicy, suspenseful, sapphic romance novel that had me on my toes! I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series, as I’m patiently hoping that Zeb will be the next character that we will focus on! I devoured this book with all its impactful plot and the seductive sapphic romance that unfolded before our eyes.
Nothing and I repeat nothing will ever be the same again after reading Bedlam, this was my first Sapphic Romance and boy did it over exceed my expectations!
Bedlam follows on seamlessly from the previous books in the series Chaos and Madness, Bonnie has fought hard with maintaining her sobriety for the past 5 years and being the drummer for metal-core band Young Decay. Something she wasn't expecting was having to navigate her growing feelings for her new bodyguard, Gemma, aswell as dealing with her stalker resurfacing and old events threatening to break her once more.
As always I love it when we see characters from previous books return and this was no exception, the whole gang is back and I love to see how they are doing after their own respective stories, even in snippets.
By the end of this book I lost count how many times I cried, so much so that it has taken me so long to write this review as nothing I wrote could do it justice! The emotions run high and raw all the way through and we wouldn't have it any otherway.
I would highly recommend that you go and read this entire series, get lost in their pages and scream until your lungs give out! For fans of Dark Rockstar Romances, Sapphic, Stalkers, Feminine Rage, Revenge and a whole helping of Spicy Goodness.
I’m not gonna lie: the fact that this book is so big put me off. I love Jack Whitney’s writing, but no romance is supposed to be that serious. Was I proven wrong? Undoubtedly.
I loved being back in the world of Young Decay. Seeing Mads and Reed be happy, Andi and Wren popping up every once in a while. The Cupid’s Arrow easter egg was placed beautifully. Bonnie is an amazing person, she struggles heavily with substance abuse/self-harming tendencies although she’s been clean for years, and I appreciated that reality of addiction being a lifelong struggle. She’s heavy and complicated and wonderful. Gemma is… goddamn. I have no words. Mommy? I love the idea of a bodyguard/vigilante/stalker.
I don’t really have words, honestly. I committed to the big book and I fell in love again along the way. I loved how powerful Gemma, Bonnie and honestly all of them are. I loved how the tension was so palpable that I had to take breaks to unclench my jaw and relax my shoulders. I loved the storyline and how I hated that it was both burning so fast and burning so slowly. Bonnie growing into her power is so incredibly sexy to see and I’m so grateful being able to be taken along for the ride!
“I owe it to myself to give every sunrise a chance. And I owe it to her to make it to every sunset.”
I’m truly so thankful for the chance to ARC read this book because it was TRANSCENDENT!
Bonnie is the drummer whose scars fuels her artistry, and Gemma is the shadow that guards her soul within the darkness. We get a stalker who becomes the protector, and its just juicy to see them go!
Their story was raw, vulnerable, and emotional in such a beautiful way. I found pieces of myself healing from Bonnie and Gemma’s journey that I truly will forever cherish. I additionally loved the family the bandmates found in each other—I dang near cried when we got to their scenes. Each scene carried intention and a message that resonates cosmically. I love them so much, and I hope to see so many more readers fall in love like I did!
Please make sure to heed triggers when going into this book; this story grapples with heavy themes ranging from self-harm, family loss, sobriety, trauma, SA, and more. Your mental health is always important, even if the book is good.
I absolutely love this series! It has lovable characters with complex backgrounds and character growth. I love the representation in these books with plus size characters, a Puerto Rican woman as a main character, and lots of lgbtqia+ characters.
Bedlam is a sapphic stalker romance that follows Bonnie, who plays drums in a metalcore band, and the chaos that come with being in a band. Bonnie has a stalker and while she’s scared of her stalker, she doesn’t feel threatened by her. This book has an amazing playlist filled with many amazing and iconic bands, lots of very spicy scenes (definitely check the trigger warnings on this one there’s a lot), compelling characters, and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. This book touches on mental health issues, addiction and loss of loved ones in a very real and relatable way.
An absolute must read for any metalheads who love a good sapphic dark romance!
Where do I even start.... I knew this book was going to wreck me.. I knew it... and it absolutely did.
This group of characters has some of the most beautifully tragic stories and this one ripped my heart out... stomped on it... and mended it all back together.
Bonnie and Gemma's story is written so beautifully. Their love is raw... it's unhinged... and it's perfectly them.
