In the sweltering heat of a London summer, Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson find themselves embroiled in a baffling series of thefts. Valuable items are being stolen from the homes of the city’s elite without any signs of forced entry to the buildings. It’s as if the items have simply vanished into thin air.
Holmes and Watson soon notice a pattern in the thefts; a pattern that points to the incidents being an inside job. But how are they to prove their theory?
But as the heatwave continues across London, and the thefts increase, Holmes is struck by a new revelation about the crimes. He realises their thief is more cunning than he first suspected, and to catch them, he and Watson will have to be one step ahead of their crafty opponent.
Don’t let the title deceive you, there is a cat involved but not in the standard way one thinks of when discussing crime. Holmes takes on this case even though some of his clients have family that is resentful of his presence and involvement. This is good mystery as all the clues are laid out before the reader and it is interesting to see how long it takes the duo to string them together.
Holmes and Watson are at home waiting for a case to come along. When one does it is a string of cat burglary’s in the same neighborhood. with some twist and turns they solve it with a surprise ending. A fun read.
