A horse aficionado from an early age, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications from California State University-Chico before launching what would become a twenty-year career as an equine photographer. She began writing fiction to pass the time during long days in the show arena, channeling her love of horses and the Old West into a series of Western historicals. Is there anything more appealing than a completely sexy, completely good southern gentleman? I am sure there is but in this case, why no, no there isn't.
After adoring another book I read last year by Fyfee I just knew it was time to read another one when I saw her latest release. Besides, it has been way too long since I read a good romantic, heart warming western. And did I mention the hot cowboy? Pfft please, like anyone needs a better excuse than that to pick this up.
Fyfee is one of those author's that made me change my mind about a certain genre, mainly westerns. I honestly love a good romance but it never occurred to me to combine those sweet romances with a western background. I know, you are thinking I am crazy because who doesn't love a sexy cowboy but it wasn't until I picked up one of her books and read it that I can truly say I had any appreciation for the genre.
I am happy to say her latest installment didn't let me down and reminded me all over again why I fell in love with not only her writing but the theme as well.
I really loved feisty good girl Nell and it was nice to see her show a softer side when it came to Maddie (adorable!) and then as she warmed up to Charlie as the story progressed. As crazy as it seems though, I think my favorite character was Nell's brother Seth. I just loved him and how they each cared for one another. It was really sweet to see and warmed my heart. We need more books with loving siblings in them for sure.
This was such a sweet, romantic, and heart warming story. Perfect for a weekend when all you want to do is cozy up to a good book that you know will have a happily ever after when it is all said and done.
“When widower Charlie Rose shows up looking for work at the struggling Cotton Ranch, no one knows he’s secretly trying to outrun trouble—and he intends to keep it that way. He wants to start over fresh in the small town of Logan Meadows, where his blind daughter, Maddie, can grow up safe…and where danger can’t find him.”
Widowed at a very young age, Nell Page is trying, along with her brother Seth, to save the ranch from the clutches of the bank. She hires Charlie to help them with chores that are quickly piling up. She finds herself having feelings for this handsome cowboy that she never expected to feel again. Would it be possible to start over again? Charlie has secrets from the past that still haunt him. Will his past undermine their future?
This book grabs you quickly, and doesn’t want to let go. The intrigue of Charlie's past keeps you guessing, and as does the developing feelings between Charlie and Nell. The secondary characters round out the book and keep things interesting. I was especially drawn to Seth, Nell’s brother.
Caroline Fyffe is a new author for me, but not for long. I really like her writing style and ability to hold the reader’s attention. This story was wonderfully written and captivated me from the first page to the last. I appreciate how she shows the reader how important a family's love is. There were parts in this book that really tug at your heart. A compelling story.

Series Prairie Hearts, book #3 "West Winds of Wyoming". by Caroline Fyffe.
I like reading stories our on the Prairies. This one tells the story of Feisty little lady Nell Page. Nell and her brother live and work the ranch alone and sometimes it is so hard that when widower Charlie Rose comes looking for work they need to hire him. The Cotton Ranch is struggling and with the help of Charlie maybe they will be able to make the next mortgage payment. the era of 1800's is a time when neighbors helped one another when they could. When a young girl comes in on the stage all alone and she is blind and not very talkative, the town comes together to help her. Caroline writes a delightful story that keeps you wanting to read "just a little bit more",I know I did.
I really enjoyed reading this fantastic western romance by Ms Fyffe. She has written a beautiful and amazing story that speaks from the heart. The main characters are Charlie Rose who is a widower with a small daughter who is blind. He has seen a lot of what life can do to a man who lost the love of his wife and now he's alone. He rides in the town of Logan Meadows hoping to find his daughter in care of a friend. Charlie must find a way to make a living so he can get his little girl situated and find her a special teacher. But he must be careful because he's in danger from his past. Nell Page is feisty woman who dresses like a man, handles horses with ease and likes her independence. Being a widow living with her brother at the Cotton Ranch, Nell hires Charlie to help with all the chores that have piled up. She sees a handsome and lonely man who makes her pulse race and puts butterflies in her stomach. Once Charlie and Nell begin to work together, there is a spark of something special between the two. Can Nell depend on Charlie to be there for her? Can her feelings be love and if so how can she tell him? Charlie knows that Nell is a woman who turns his blood hot with her kisses that make him forget where his loyalties lie. Will there be a future for them or will Charlie's past life catch up to him? Please read this book, you won't be disappointed. I received this ARC title from Net Galley for an honest review.
I love Logan Meadows, Wyoming and all the wonderful individuals that make this such a fascinating town. Caroline Fyffe's 3rd installment of her Prairie Wind Series, West Winds Of Wyoming, was the best, yet. Mystery, misunderstandings, & forgiveness makes this one a keeper. Charlie and Nell had me gripped from the beginning, As well as the sub-stories that were intertwined within the mystery. Can't wait to dive into #4. Caroline Fyffe has become an author I'll continue to explore.
I thought this book was totally fascinating. I love horses, and the info here was interesting. There's a lot here about how wild horses used to be herded, and Nell's gift for communicating with horses was interesting. Rarely was she wrong. So this book was really two romances in one. We have Nell and Charlie and Brenna and Gregory. Gregory comes to be the new schoolteacher and Charlie is hired on as a ranch hand at Nell and Seth's ranch (Nell and Seth are brother and sister). The author does a pretty good job of weaving two romances together and making them both still pretty good. I love romance with a bit of suspense, too, and this book delivers on that as well. Charlie comes into town with someone out for blood possibly on his trail. Does he dare pursue his feelings for Nell while still looking over his shoulder, wondering when or if someone will be catching up to him, and what will happen if they do? I've been reading a lot of books of this type lately, so I guess the fact that they're becoming a bit predictable is my fault, but with that said, this was still good.
What a beautiful picture you painted of the horses. Small town with the railroad nearby. Everyone coming together. Brenna with her kids eking out a living. Never wanting to take charity. Silently giving little gifts that no one knows about. Now there is Nell. She is not the prissy sort. A pair of jeans, shirt & vest and she is good to go. A stage arrives with Maddie, who is blind. She won't say anything about her past. Just that there was a note saying Brenna should take her in. In comes Charlie/Tristan who is new to town. He gets a job on The Cotton Ranch owned by Nell & her brother Seth. Charlie is running from trouble but is a hard worker. Once he gets settled, they go into town for the picnic. He is hoping to get a look at Maddie to make sure she is ok. He ends up winning the quilt but can't speak because he knows Maddie will recognize his voice. Now there is Mr Hutton who is the new school teacher. He is introduced at the picnic. School will be starting on Monday. It seems that the day before he comes downs with the measles. Brenna steps up to take care of him. He also gets her to take over classes till he is better. Confusion is reigning. Brenna is falling for Mr Hutton. Nell has fallen for Charlie but she thinks he is interested in Brenna. After the round up of the horses, Charlie kisses her like crazy. He almost lost her and he is ready to stop running. He goes into town to go get Maddie. Only Nell thinks he is going for Brenna. Everyone meets up at Brenna house at the same time. Maddie is calling him Pa, Brenna is trying to take Maddie away from him & Nell is just happy. So Charlie marries Nell. I can see Brenna marrying Mr Hutton. Next will be Seth who has been seeing Ivy. It seems braille is coming to Long Meadows also. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
I just have to say that I love Caroline Fyffe! Every book I have ever read of hers draws me in and this one is no exception. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this!! I was very intrigued from the very beginning. Wondering what secrets "Charlie" is hiding and what trouble is following him.
Being widowed at a very young age, Nell is content to work her ranch with her brother. Dressing as a man does and working the ranch have never bothered her before. But when Charlie shows up, feelings resurface that she thought she would never have again. She longs for love and a family, but will her insecurities get the best of her?
Charlie shows up at Cotton Ranch for a job and to reclaim his life once again. Trying to outrun trouble, he lands a job on the ranch. But he is keeping secrets. The less anyone knows the better. He is drawn to Nell's understated beauty and her natural intuitiveness with the animals. Does she really know what they are thinking and feeling? When she tells him about the stranger she has seen twice, all he can think is to protect her from his past.
Can Nell get past her insecurity and tell Charlie what she feels? Can Charlie finally listen to his heart and not his head and reclaim his life and love? Love, love , love this book and can't wait for more in the series!!
Nice & Slow Romance, Great Story, Fun, Clean, 2 Relationships...
Unfortunately I didn't read the first 2 books in this series but I think this book is able to be read as a stand-alone book. I didn't feel as though I was missing out on anything at any point.
The storyline for this book was really fun and interesting to me. The chemistry was there in this book but the romance was very slow. The book was very thrilling to me right from the start but I kept waiting for a really exciting/action packed moment and it just didn't happen until the very end.
This was a very clean book. If you're looking for hot & steamy you'll want to look elsewhere.
There were really 2 romances happening in this book. The secondary romance was a bit dull to me and I really didn't care for that portion. I felt too much time was spend on that couple and there really wasn't a closure to that romance. We were just kind of left hanging.
Overall I really enjoyed this story and how well the book was written. If you're looking for a nice, slow, clean romance book then I'd definitely recommend this book.

West Winds of Wyoming Caroline Fyffe is a wonderful well written 5 star book I am looking forward to reading more books by Caroline .
Caroline Fyffe has done it again with another beautiful western that captures your heart. I wasn't particularly drawn to westerns till I read her books. They are heartfelt and tender. I adore the characters and feel like I know them personally. This story kept me guessing. At times I thought I knew how parts of the story would unfold, but I was wrong. Other parts were more predictable, but very sweet. Caroline's love of horses shows through too. I think there might be a little piece of Caroline inside of Nell. As always - I look forward to more!
This was the first time I have read this author and I was very pleased. Her writing flows very Easily. The story line held my interest. There was a good mixture of romance and some mystery along with the adventure. I fill definitely read more of her books. It is refreshing to find an author that is NOT x rated, but still keeps the romance.
I really enjoyed this heartwarming story. I wasn't sure how Maddie would be reunited with her father. It was lovely watching how God worked in the lives of these characters. I have to say that Seth stole my heart with his matchmaking ways!!
Caroline Fyffe is an awesome writer that lets her stories flow in a way that puts you in the scene. she will have you feeling the wind and the emotions of the wonderful characters. have read all three and wish the series went on.
This is book 3 'West winds of Wyoming' and as usual when I get into a series I have to finish all of them.
I love the way that the author uses the other characters from the previous books to incorporate new characters. In this one is Charlie, a devoted father who can't give up his blind daughter & has to become a ranch hand in order to hold more secrets. He lives at brother & sisters ranch, Seth & Nell. In town is the new school teacher Gregory & Brenner, the sweetest mom to her children, foster children and Maddy, who shows up alone, and everyone is wondering how a blind child could travel alone.
The story goes from one incident to another, ping ponging from one couple to another. Usually plots & characters in stories like this are lost but this is a clean, beautiful, suspenseful, love story. Of course endings are predictable but I wasn't really sure until the 4th to last chapter before I knew.
Instead of me giving away the plot I recommend you read each one of these books/parts/stories in order to truly appreciate the old west, the beginning of the United States and the love stories that has come from each of them.
I became interested in Caroline Fyffe’s books through the Mail Order bride series from another western romance fiction writer. Until this book, I had preferred the other author’s work. I’m not sure why, but this story won me over. I read western romance when I need a break from heavy nonfiction learning or deeply emotional literature. I love the positivity, the natural settings, the progression of time and inventions I reflect on while reading. Social history has always fascinated me. I do a lot of googling while reading western fiction. I’ve never “caught” this author taking liberties with social history or inventions or switching up time periods for the sake of the story. While these books are a sort of “fluff” type break for me, I always learn something new. This time it was about Buffalo Jumps. Had never heard of that before. I also like that this is s series so I don’t have to search for next leisure read, or miss the characters for long. *smiles*
I enjoyed this book and all the books in this series. The female characters are strong and I like revisiting the characters in the previous books. That being said all the books are stand a lone and can be read separately.
In this book Nell, a rancher is just getting a new ranch hand named Charlie Rose. Charlie is strong and Nell instantly likes and trusts him. Charlie has a secret in the way of a daughter but he doesn't want to appear unable to handle his workload right off.
Nell is looking for more horses so she and her brother can finish their contracts for the year. Charlie has seen some wild horses which would finish the contracts if they can catch them and tame them on time. With Charlie's help and two neighbors they captured the horses.
The blurb mentioned Charlie Rose and Nell as the main storyline, but equal parts were shared with the widow Brenna and the new school teacher Mr Hutton. This diluted the interaction in the story between Nell and Charlie, so they did not engage my attention. For me it was reading about two couples on the sidelines instead of one full story. The plot was not as up to standard as the first in the series. It all rested on some mysterious stranger and someone who Charlie was running from. They hardly emerged and were quickly disposed of in a couple of brief sentences. I admit to skipping and scanning huge chunks to finish.
A blind child shows up in Logan Meadows, WY, all by herself. Nell Page is scared out at ranch by a shifty eyed visistor. School is opening with a new school teacher and good deeds are appearing all over town. As the town folk go about their daily lives, mysteries are solved, ranches are saved, hearts are filled and new lives are started. Sometimes I thought this book was over, but it kept going on, getting better and better. I have not read any of the other books in the series and did not have any trouble picking this book up.
For some reason I didn't expect much of this story. Pleasantly surprised is the title used because it is so apropos (sic?). There are so many stories, stories within stories, a pleasant surprise twist at the end and two people and another two people, and another two people, and maybe yet another two people perfectly suited for each other. All this, plus busybody gossips to resent. Hay you, get over it.
The book was okay. Very difficult for me to get into the story. I loved the parts that included characters from the previous books. The newly introduced chatacters were difficult to like. My usual book reading time to finish is 2-3 days. This one took over 3 weeks. I had to force myself to read it. The last 4 chapters were very good.
Another great read by Caroline Fyffe!!!!!!! The plot continues to thicken and I was so engulfed in all that could happen, I had to continue clean through till the end. I loved how the end really did happen! A well written story! Thank you again! I look forward to more from this author!
I love any read that has horses as a main subject! The books I read prior were also by Caroline Fyffe and were set in the Colorado Rockies in The Colorado territory before it became a state. I love Colorado and have family there, even though I'm stuck in Illinois😊
I really enjoyed this book. It is another amazing book by Caroline. She is a wonderful storyteller who can make you and laugh while reading this book. I was on the edge of my seat while reading the scene where they were moving the wild horses. I love the characters in this series. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This is the third book in this series. There are a lot of descriptions of working with horses that lead me to believe the author knows them well. I do like her books quite a lot. Characters are believable and love stories feel real but are clean! This is my favorite of her books of about six I have read.
I'm not sure how Caroline does it, but she never fails to create an awesome story. There is intrigue, adventure, love and page turning events you just can't put down. So far this has been an awesome series. I can't wait to start the next book! Happy Reading everybody!!!
Excellent writing. So descriptive without being verbose. Characters that you come to know as "real" people. A believable plot (and subplots) with a good dog, a horse that goes to great depths to please its rider. Now, I'll take some of that fried chicken with some biscuits and gravy.
Charlie sends his blind little 8yo daughter away to keep her safe until he can follow. He gets to the small town in Wyoming and hires on as a ranch hand to tame horses. He meets Nell a fierce young lady. Charlie keeps his eyes on his daughter. He wants to secure a house, job etc.... before he picks up his daughter. Bittersweet times.
Anti climatic. This story needs less everyday description and more big drama. Charlie was afraid of Galente throughout the book yet nothing happened there until the very end and then the story line fizzled. Disappointment for a story that could have been enticing.
Caroline Fyffe writes another great story. Lots of surprise twists, as all her stories are known for. I have to admit, though, that I have to slip some pages, but only because, as I get older, I can't stand the 'suspense.' These aren't thrillers, per sae, but full of good, intriguing story lines. Go on and read these...you know you want to!
