Poppy was something new. Something desperate and dangerous and all-consuming that clawed at his insides a little more with each second that passed.

Now it's been a hot minute since I read Drive Me Crazy. Two years since to be precise. Clearly I remember...pretty much nothing from the book because I have the memory of...what memory? But the one thing that I do remember? Exactly how much I wanted Wyatt's book. So I guess what I'm trying to tell you readers that haven't discovered this fantastic series yet, is each book is easily read as a standalone. But you're not going to want to miss out on the first two books in this series because while I don't remember the details, I do know that I absolutely loved them. So much so that I can say this is my favorite series by this author.

Now as much as I loved the previous two books, it's safe to say that this one was my favorite in the series. I love Brazens for their steamy and entertaining fix, but when an author can pack in some depth into the mix? WINNING.
In his story, he's the villain, and there's not a damn thing any of us can do to convince him otherwise.

Wyatt is the drummer for Shaken Dirty...and a drug addict. After coming out of his third stint of rehab, he's determined to make it stick but his demons aren't so easily silenced. The band stands behind him 100% but that doesn't mean he believes he's earned their devotion. He may not have slept with his friend and bandmate's fiancé like their bassist to warrant getting booted from the band, but he thinks his drug addiction just may lead to that sooner rather than later.

Poppy Germaine lives for Rock. She lives and breathes music. Her father is the CEO of Shaken Dirty's label, but her father's archaic beliefs of a woman's place not being anywhere near the business end of things keeps her from doing what she truly loves. Desperate to prove herself she allows her twin to talk her into working as the band's new social media consultant and keep an eye on Wyatt to make sure he doesn't fall off the wagon again. But before she can even introduce herself to the band, a passionate encounter with a stranger in the dark alley behind a club turns out to be something much more when the stranger is Wyatt...
He wasn’t sure what it said about him that, despite everything going on, watching her get all worked up was turning him on. Then again, from the moment he’d first laid eyes on her, everything about this woman had made him hot.”

Fade Into You is a super sexy read, but it's much more than just steam. The author does a fantastic job painting a character that's truly suffering with his addiction. Wyatt doesn't have a quick fix with his rehab. He was a heroin addict and that haunts him along with the past that led him to seek drugs as his solace. I loved his vulnerability and the way that Poppy took care of him and offered him strength and support. I loved watching him open up to her little by little and seeing the true depth of him as a man.
He opened to her because he had to, because he couldn’t not let her in when she was holding him so carefully. Kissing him so tenderly. Making him feel so much—and so good—when earlier all he’d wanted was to be numb.”

Poppy was a wonderful heroine. There was nothing pushy or dismissive about her. She truly got Wyatt. She wanted him for who he was and supported him for who he is. I loved her silent strength. As for Wyatt and Poppy together? Absolutely explosive! They were practically scorching!

Of course you get more of the rest of the Shaken Dirty gang, which was great! I loved catching up with my previous favorite characters. Fade into You was a perfect blend of emotional and steamy entertainment. And I absolutely loved the ending. I did wish for perhaps a little epilogue to know what happened with Poppy's father and the label, but I suppose we may get those answers in the next book.

I've been waiting a year for the next Shaken Dirty book. I was so excited when I seen this on my kindle. I really liked it.

The band has had to cut the tour short because they fired their bassist and Wyatt was in rehab for a few months. Now that Wyatt is out they can focus on finding a new bass player.

Poppy works for her fathers record label company. He doesn't take her serious because she's a woman. Her brother is suppose to go babysit Wyatt and make sure he doesn't relapse and lose her father more money from the liability. Poppy will take her brothers place with a fake job of helping them with revamping their social status. Only on her first night there she meets a sexy guy outside behind the bar. She doesn't know who he is because it's dark. Poppy and Wyatt instantly connect in the alley and when I mean connect I mean Wyatt's face was connected to Poppy's center! Whew!!!

 photo 1FFDF2B2-1B0B-40CB-8B89-50D447A94C6D_zpswoicbwjk.gif

Imagine Poppy's face when out walks one of the other band members to tell Wyatt he has five minutes before they go on.

Poppy is freaking out because she has to face these guys and work with them. She's also scared because she doesn't like lying to them.

I loved Poppy and Wyatt! They were smoking hot together! I loved how Poppy helped Wyatt open up and heal from a horrible childhood past. Wyatt was sweet! Not once did he look at other woman or even think about anyone else.

Now why did I just really like it and not love it? Well let's just say insta-love is really not my thing. I was hoping for a bit of a chase. The ending also felt rushed and I would of liked a little more. Yes I know...there is two more band members so I'm sure I will get more in their books but damn! I waited a year! lol

If you love a hot as hell drummer and don't mind the insta this book is for you. Can't wait for more from Shaken Dirty! Love these boys!!

4 - "Addiction's a bitch." Stars!

It’s been a while since I have had the opportunity to spend a little time with the boys of Shaken Dirty, but it was well worth the wait, I think we all knew that Wyatt’s story was going to be a hum-dinger, and Tracy Wolff certainly delivered on it.

If you have read the previous books in the series, you’ll know that Wyatt was struggling with drug and alcohol addiction from the beginning. Now, having just left rehab, daily-life in all its forms and nuances is a constant struggle, and a running reminder of the way things were for him prior to getting clean.

He was going to fuck up.
He was going to fail.
He wasn’t strong enough to stay sober.

Poppy Germaine pretty much walks in (or out into the alley, if you take their first meeting into account) and offers something else for Wyatt to focus his attentions on. To say he then happily spends a lot of the book on his knees would be understating the fact that this is a guy that has a predilection for giving head!

Hadn’t he learned his lesson yet? Trust him to kick heroin only to turn around and get hooked on a whole different Poppy.

I think one of the main things that Tracy nailed with this book was Wyatt’s continual battle and recovery from addition, she didn’t glamourize it, and you knew it was an integral part of the story for him and with Poppy the whole way through. It didn’t just get pushed to the back burner as soon as the sexy-times started. It’s also the unbreakable bond between the band, and I found some of the interaction between him and the guys pretty emotive.

The banter is there as well, but when you see a guy at his lowest, and his friends pull him back up because of unbending, and unshakable loyalty and faith, well it tugs on all the right strings. This is a little longer than the usual Brazen title and I am glad Tracy was given the scope to allow Wyatt’s story flow as it did. There is a lot of internal monologue, its appropriate with the themes running through the story. Wyatt is not a man who has had an easy life, his addictions cover even deeper and longstanding past issues, and his head space is crowded because of it.

”I’ve never written a song for a woman before.”

I could go on, I loved getting to spend more time with Jared, Quinn and Ryder, but I really hope that we don’t have to wait as long for the next book in the series though!

If I read this book 3 years ago, I will be happy to rate it 4 stars. Now with my tatse for romance is revolving, Fade into You is mediocre 3 stars.

The chemistry and the insta lust is not believable. And too cheesy. But on the hot and sexy department, Miss Wolff never fail. It was hot.
And I think that is pretty much what I like about this book.

Another great Shaken Dirty novel. Wyatt and Poppy are so perfect together, but their whole relationship felt so rushed. Plus there's no epilogue like the first two. Can't wait to read Jared and Drew's HEAs.

4 redemption and love can go hand in hand stars.

description

"Baby, we're rock stars. Making girls come is pretty much part of the job description."

Poppy and Wyatt met and started off with a bang, quite literally. Poppy's job is to babysit Wyatt while acting as the band's Social Media Director. Poppy doesn't expect to have the chemistry she does with Wyatt or to have him reach for and need her the way he does. Nothing goes as she thought and she falls further into a place she can't hope to leave, in love with Shaken Dirty's drummer.

Wyatt struggles with addiction because of the past he's trying his hardest to forget. If it isn't alcohol it is drugs to make himself numb but he has to shape up in order to stay in Shaken Dirty. He's a solid drummer and a great song writer. His attraction to Poppy is a blessing and a curse when it becomes something more because the ultimate betrayal can really hurt when it comes from someone you least expect it from.

Seconds passed, minutes, decades maybe, as he kissed her like she'd never been kissed before. Kissed her like she was the only woman in the world. Kissed her like she was the only thing that stood between him and utter destruction.

This is a Tracy Wolff novel through and through with how easily you find yourself loving Wyatt and rooting for him and Poppy. It is easy to like and respect Poppy because she never intentionally causes harm and is brilliant. I didn't any of the other Shaken Dirty novels but I think I just might after reading this one and liking it so much.

Have I ever bitched about the sex to plot ratio before? Racking my brain here and pretty sure I haven't.

So...Here's. A. First.

It deserves a brand new shelf:
bitches-who-put-out-like-its-the-end-of-the-fucking-world

In truly trying to figure out how much intimate/one-on-one conversation they had before they were changed by each other and then falling for each other...I discovered she's had twice as many orgasms and the same amount of sexual encounter as conversations. You guessed it. They fucked EVERY time they met.

Damn.
That's a sure thing, right there.

And really, I kinda wondered if the h just became the H's new drug of choice. It was nice to see Wyatt sober, he was just as endearing as before, but finally fully coherent.

However, no OW and a total insta-love premise. If that's for you, then this ENTIRE series is a must read. It's very well written and the characters are always fun. Every H falls hard and quick for the h.

I'd call it HFN...but this is a series with updates on previous couples, so I'm sure it's HEA. Could have used an epilogue.

All complaints aside, this was a great, sweet, quick read. Completely recommendable.

I really wish GR would allow .5 stars.

There is one gif that perfectly describes my feelings about this book.

I patiently waited for over two years to get my hands on next Shaken Dirty novel. Okay, well, maybe not so patiently at all. I ranted. I complained. I had temper tantrums. And THEN Netgalley denied me my copy of it? I was like what the hell? I had to wait so long and they'd make me wait even longer? I was angry. I pouted and didn't want to buy the book just because.. Didn't take long before I broke down and bought it.. And read it. Because:

Some basic info:
Wyatt is a drummer in Shaken Dirty.
Wyatt is hot.
Wyatt has issues.
Wyatt is an addict.
Wyatt has just left rehab for the third time.
Wyatt is fucked up and has issues bigger than Mont Everest.
Wyatt is close to using again.

Poppy love music.
Poppy's father owns a record company, but is an asshole who believes woman belong to the kitchen.
Poppy's send by her brother to watch over Wyatt under the pretense of being media person.

Poppy and Wyatt are into each other.
Poppy and Wyatt have secrets.

Wyatt's story is one I've anticipated for so long, I wanted to know how he'll end up, who he'll end up with, how he will be dealing with his addiction. I was both happy with his story and also bit disappointed because when you have so long to think about something, you came up with your own story.. Although it didn't match my story, it was good. It would've been a five star read if it wasn't for the instainsta love (I put the insta twice intentionally, because this was most insta then most).

Was it worth the wait? It was.

But I'm hoping that I won't have to wait so long for next to novels.

To say I had high expectations for Fade into You is putting it mildly. We've had a fair old wait for the third in Tracy Wolff's Shaken Dirty series, but it was worth it. Not only is it my favourite of the the three so far, but I do believe it's by far my favourite book from the Brazen imprint.

description

Wyatt Jennings hasn't had an easy time of things throughout the series. We've seen his heroin addiction spiral out of control affecting him and the band who are also the closest thing he has to family, but the man stole my heart long ago. Having spent weeks in rehab he's out and determined that his demons won't beat him. And he got the story he so deserved.

description

"...how ironic was it that her name was Poppy, when for years that little red flower had been the biggest nemesis in his life."

When it comes to a sex scene Tracy Wolff has mad skills. The build-up and feeling she creates is something else, and Wyatt and Poppy have an explosive chemistry. But their story is more than that, it had to be because regardless of the fact that Wyatt is sexy and funny and sweet, he's damaged and vulnerable. Poppy was perfect for him; she's strong and determined and her belief in him brings out many of the emotional moments.

description

I am such a groupie as far as these men are concerned. Their dynamic is perfect; their verbal-sparring brings some great humour and their close friendships are quite touching. My only disappointment, and it's really very minor, was how rapidly it ended in comparison to the previous two books which both had epilogues, but Fade into You is a stellar addition and I can't wait for Jared and Drew's stories.

Fade Into You was a great read.

The storyline was well written, the drama wasn't over the top and my interest was held all throughout the book.
Both Wyatt and Poppy were passionate & complex characters, I loved watching their relationship develop.
And their chemistry? OFF THE CHARTS!

This was an emotional, heartfelt and steamy read, loved it.
I highly recommend this book.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

It's been a very long wait for the third book in Tracy Wolff's Shaken Dirty series so much so that I decided to go back and re-read the first two books before starting Fade Into You and to be honest I'm not sure that was a wise move. I liked Fade Into You quite a bit, but when I compare it to the first two it comes up lacking a bit of the warmth, charm, and character development we had in those first two books and more than that it was lacking the epilogue that made the first two books that much more special and if any book needed that epilogue it was this one, because Wyatt Jennings they drug addicted bad boy rocker deserved one. That being said, I still enjoyed this story and seeing the rest of the band was a huge bonus but I wanted more from this book. I wanted the guts, I wanted Wyatt to reach deep and I wanted to know that in the end he could do it on his own something I'm not sure about given the way this book played out. One thing is for sure Shaken Dirty is back, they are stronger than ever and I can't wait to see what happens as these bright and talented men hit the stratosphere of success.

So Wyatt Jennings and Poppy Germaine meet in an unusual way and have a strange, hot and oh so decadent first encounter and it is only after it's over that she realizes she is quite possibly in over her head. Poppy was sent by her brother to watch over Wyatt who is fresh out of rehab as he rejoins the band. She's there to monitor his behavior, to watch for any relapse and to also help the band with their social media interactions. For Wyatt, Poppy is his new drug of choice and this is where I had a bit of an issue with the story. I was so happy that he found a connection with someone, someone who actually cared for him and someone who wanted to understand his pain but it was all a bit too easy.

Things I loved about this book; the fact that the remaining members of this band are stronger than ever and that they are there for each other no matter what goes down. That they all understand Wyatt's issue is long term, that it will take work, dedication and monitoring for him to be successful and that they are willing to do what it takes to help him. That the music and their friendship is more important than anything and that despite everything that's gone down finding a new bassist does them no good if they don't have each other.

Poppy was a breath of fresh air and it was easy to see she knew the business inside and out. I hated that she was put into a situation that would no doubt backfire on her and I hated it even more that she had to claw her way through it all and still didn't get the credit she deserved from the man that raised her. Her interaction with the band, they way she seemingly fit into their group and the way they accepted her was quite refreshing. While there was no denying the insane physical connection between her and Wyatt, I would have liked to see more of an emotional connection and one that wasn't so one sided.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and I'm happy to be back in the world of Shaken Dirty but I have very high hopes that the last two books in this series will be more like the first two and give me the depth and magic I've come to expect from this author.

Ugh where do I even start with this book. To think that this book and Ethan Frost series was written by the same author is difficult and kind of embarrassing. I had read the last two books in the series like 2 years ago when it was released, and when I saw that this book had finally released, I thought to catch up.

Wyatt was definitely the tortured character, and honestly it's always difficult for the author to deliver a story worthy of such a character. In the first book Jamison kept saying he had 'demons' in his past, and then in the second book Quinn kept saying his 'horrific' past, so you can understand, I was genuinely intrigued by it, and I definitely wanted to know what his past held.

Going into this book, I expected a broody and dark man, tortured and scarred by his past, who wore haunting tattoos on his hands (as said by the author). But what I got was a teenager, with a hormonal imbalance, who thinks that the ultimate power.. guess..? Yes the POWER OF LOVE cures everything. I am honestly, personally so over that shit. I would have respected Wyatt more if he struggled to over come his addiction, and it was his will power that won the battle, and not the power of boners.

I kid you not. That shit was so ridiculous, it was not funny. It's like Poppy had a 'magic pussy' as Dewayne would say.

Like I said people, the power of boners and true love can completely defeat the worlds greatest enemies. After all it did defeat Voldemort.

And don't get me started with Poppy. That woman was so confused, I was surprised she remembered her name. Seriously, she falls in love with Wyatt literally 3 days after meeting him, in which she had two orgasms by a "stranger" who turns out to be her 'charge'.. um obviously Wyatt! Who else could it possibly be! *rolls eye*

The drama was so unnecessary. And all in all, it was very badly written story. I did however like the ribbing by the band members, and their loyalty was the only real thing in that entire book. Which is why I am giving a 2 instead of a 0.5. It's almost like Miss Wolff did not even give ashit about this story, and just wrote something for the sake of writing.

Here's my summary of the review:
Cover: OK
Story line: Negative
Male Character: Teenage self esteem problem (supposedly tortured artist)
Female Character: Woman believes that the power of boner cures everything (author reinstates that in this story)
Happy Ending: Yes
Me: What the fuck ever, I'm out of here.

Fade Into You (Shaken Dirty #3) by Tracy Wolff Tracy Wolff’s Fade Into You is a masterpiece.  Shaken Dirty Drummer, Wyatt Jennings, just got out of rehab.  He finds himself attracted to the band’s new social media consultant, Poppy Germaine.  Little does the band know, Poppy is really the daughter of the labels CEO, undercover to make sure Wyatt stays out of trouble.

I love this story.  Poppy has always had a soft spot for Shaken Dirty, after all she discovered them.  She unintentionally hooks up with Wyatt.  The two have an intense chemistry.  Wyatt is enamored with Poppy.  I love the irony of her name.  We find out what caused Wyatt to spiral out of control, let’s just say it is heartbreaking.  I love how the band looks out for each other.  They are a true family.  Poppy’s dad, Bill Germaine, is a piece of work.  He causes some interesting conflicts in the story.

I enjoyed the plot.  I thought it was realistic and well written.  My son is a drummer so I loved all the detail that Tracy Wolff went into when Wyatt played.  She did a fantastic job depicting how much Wyatt loves music and it is a part of him.  I love when Wyatt met Jace and his friends.  I thought it was great that he went to their show.  I like how it tied in with the story.  I loved the ending.  I would like to hear more about what happens with Poppy and her brother Caleb.

This is the first book that I have read by Tracy Wolff.  I really enjoyed her writing style and am definitely interested in reading the other books in this series as well as other books by her.

Tracy Wolff's Shaken Dirty series just gets better and better. I love all the band members and how close they are to one another. I also like how the integration of their women, one by one, makes the group dynamic more fun and interesting.

Wyatt has been painted as the troubled member of the group in previous books. He is also the heart of the group. So, when the heart gets sick, the entire whole suffers. Wyatt's drug use came to a dangerous head in the book prior to this one, and he was sent off to rehab. And it was clear that this weighed heavily on all the band members.

And now Wyatt is back, and the record label is understandably worried. So, they send in the owner's daughter (incognito) to make sure he's not in danger of falling off the wagon. But, Poppy sees much more than she thought she would. She sees the love these friends have for one another, and the struggle that Wyatt goes through every day to stay clean, and the brilliance each of these guys have at music.

"Jared might be the leader of the band, Quinn might be the heart, and Ryder might be the soul, but you, Wyatt, you are the backbone of this band. You give them their shape, their sound, you hold all of them together. If you break, they all break."

I think my favorite thing about Fade Into You is that Wyatt is far from perfect... and Poppy is perfect for him. I was worried that Wyatt's return to glory would be too easy. And, getting over something like a heroin and alcohol addiction is ANYTHING but easy. But, Tracy Wolff did a wonderful job portraying the constant struggle that Wyatt goes through in order to stay on the right path.

He is also constantly riddled with guilt. His additions cost his friends millions of dollars. No one trusts him anymore. He's considered a liability by his record label, and it's not hard for Wyatt to see himself the same way.

And yet, here they were. Jared, Ryder, Quinn. Backing him, even knowing it was a sure bet that he was going to fuck up again. Standing by him even though it had already cost them more than they should ever have to pay.

But, Poppy changes everything. She doesn't change the difficult job he has ahead of him, but she makes the road a lot more bearable. She gives him love and affection and acceptance. And, she's totally in love with his mad drumming skillz. And, who wouldn't be? Wyatt is BRILLIANT.

This was the best Shaken Dirty book yet. And now with a new member, we still have a few stories to go.

I am a big Tracy Wolff fan and have read and enjoyed many of her books. However this is the first one in this series that I have read, it is book #3 in the Shaken Dirty series. Now that I have read it I will make sure I go back and read the other two. I still really enjoyed the book and don't really feel like I missed much by not having read the others so I was happy about that.

Wyatt Jennings is the bad boy drummer for Shaken Dirty. He is fresh out of rehab for the third time and knows this one will stick just as well as the others. But there is one thing he knows for sure he owes it to his band mates to try.

Finally out of rehab and desperate for a fresh start, Wyatt rejoins his mega-platinum rock band Shaken Dirty as they prepare for their world tour. But Wyatt’s demons are never far behind, always nipping at his heels for one. More. Fix.

Poppy Germaine's whole life is music. Her dad runs the record company she works for and if there is one way to describe him it is sexiest ass. She spends her whole life trying to prover her worth to her father and now her brother is giving her just that chance. She is to go to Austin and babysit Wyatt to make sure the company doesn't lose anymore money. Poppy hates lying but this is her one big shot. The last thing she ever imagined was falling for Wyatt right out of the gate.

Soon Wyatt finds he needs Poppy more then a next hit but when her dad finds out she is there he is not happy and wants to ruin Wyatt. Wyatt is ready to quit but his band and Poppy want him to fight. The question is can Wyatt move past the ghosts of his past and decide he is worth fighting for, especially after he finds out Poppy's secret.

Poppy is willing to risk it all for Wyatt and Shaken Dirty the question remains if the risk was worth it.

I really liked this book and the characters. Wyatt is a tragic character who is really a good guy that everyone sees but him. He has had a hard life and a long journey but he is seeing the light. He and Poppy work together.

I had to take a little off because it is a wham bam thank you mam love story, insta love and all. The ending was a bit abrupt for my tastes.

It has been two years since I read Drive Me Crazy and I didn't remember anything about the series. I don't even think I read the blurb of the book to be honest and if I did it was a long time before I began reading it, so I couldn't remember that Wyatt, the hero, was a drug addict and an alcoholic. In Fade into you we see how he struggles with his addiction and how his life is after rehab. That's pretty much how this book begins. I was surprised when the first thing I read in this book was Wyatt wanting some drugs. I was a little put off, but I told myself to grow up and continue reading, which was exactly what I did a couple of days later. And truth to be told I didn't want to put the book down.

The writing might not have fancy words, but it draws the reader in and doesn't let him escape until he has finished the whole book. The search for the new bassist, keeping an eye on Wyatt and the romance between him and Poppy where the main plot lines in the book. Each one had something different to offer and I liked them equally. I don't know what the average reader does, but I haven't met a lot of heroes who are fighting an addiction. I liked how we got into Wyatt's head and saw what he was feeling. I trully felt as if I was in the mind of an ex addict.

I don't have to say much about Poppy. She is very likeable and is holding her ground. She is passionate about music and I would have liked to see that side of her getting more explored. I hope I will see her in the next book working her magic. I loved how she had faith in Wyatt, how she believed in him and made him believe in himself.

I hope that Jared is the next person who will get a book and not the new bassist whose name shall not be spoken because it spoils things. I also hope that we won't have to wait for long before Justify My Love is released. I love these rockers!

Tracy Wolff’s Fade Into You is a masterpiece.

Kindly provided with an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.......

This is Poppy and Wyatt's story and it is SMOKIN' !!!

Basically Wyatt is in a famous band and has recently come out of rehab for drug addiction. Wyatt is supposed to be "baby sit" by the managers son, to ensure he does not relapse. Of course Poppy (the managers daughter) gets dragged into this role by her brother, taking his place.

So what happens ?........Well, Wyatt totters off to a bar nearly as soon as he is out of rehab.......not a stellar start I know !!, but this is where he meets Poppy. Poppy has no idea that his gorgeous hunk that she meets at the bar is none other than Wyatt, she just know's she want's him........bad.

Needless to say when Poppy finds out who here tryst was with she is mortified. Wyatt, not so much. He is very much on board the Poppy is my muse and my ultimate attraction train. Unfortunately Wyatt has been hurt in the past......can he put his demon's behind him ?. Can Poppy truly give herself to Wyatt when the reason she is with the band in the first place, following them are not entirely truthful ?.

This book for me epitomises strength, overcoming your demon's, learning to trust (not only yourself, but others) and deep, soul crushing love. BIG THUMBS UP from me xx

Well done Tracy and many thanks for this opportunity x

Later peeps xx

I absolutely loved this sweet, sizzling and spicy story! Although Wyatt is fresh out of rehab and about to join Shaken Dirty's new tour, he still feels unworthy to be a part of the band. Then an angel, Poppy Germaine, comes into his life and they both fall hard and fast! Just when Wyatt starts to believe in love again, Poppy reveals a secret that just may send Wyatt back into the hell-hole he just crawled out of!

This was my favorite of the series. I love Jamison and Ryder and Quinn and Elise but I related to Quinn in so many ways. Parts of this were hard to read but just because of how personal I found it all. I’m not an addict or an alcoholic but all of his self doubt and guilt and try to protect his friends from himself I understand 100% and feel everyday. I can only hope I find someone like Poppy to believe in me and push me to understand how others see me not just my twisted reality.
On a different note, the smut in this book was my favorite holy 🔥🔥🔥.

5+++ Stars!! Sometimes writing a review for a book that you really love is harder than writing a review for a book that you don’t feel that level of involvement with. How do you get it across to people that there is something special about this book, these characters, and that this is more than worth the time to read it? That pretty much sums up how I feel about Fade Into You. Even though this is book #3 in the Shaken Dirty series I didn’t feel like I missed anything. The only thing this it did was help me to find a new author to follow and to get my butt in gear and read the first two books of this series and put the next two on my TBR list with Goodreads.

You would think that Poppy Germaine would have it made seeing that her father was the head of a record label and her twin brother, Caleb, was next in command. It didn’t matter that it was Poppy who knew about the music business face to face. No one was a bigger fan of the music than Poppy. She was the one who scouted out the talent and knew what and who worked and what didn’t….Even if she was “just a woman”. Her father believed that a woman had no place in this business because they would all just lose their heads and their panties if faced with anyone remotely associated with a rock band. His archaic thinking is what drove Poppy to feed all of her ideas through her brother Caleb just so her father would listen. She knew that he would listen to Caleb even if she was the one who really had a finger on the industry and it wasn’t too often that she was wrong with her ideas of what worked and what didn’t.

It was Caleb who stuck his neck out and lined up Poppy to be the one to “babysit” Shaken Dirty’s drummer, Wyatt. Wyatt had just come out of rehab for the third time and had cost the record label millions so they wanted someone to go to Austin and make sure that Shaken Dirty would be ready to go on tour in just a few weeks because they were not only a hot band at this time they very likely would become rock legends because they were that good. Caleb knew that nobody knew the rock stars better than Poppy did because she was a huge fan of this band and truly believed in them. The only problem was that they did not want the guys in the band, especially Wyatt, to know that they were going to have someone watching Wyatt’s every move to make sure that he stayed clean. The record company could not take another hit financially like they already had with this band. Poppy finally agreed and went in having faith that this band could make it huge and really believing in Wyatt.

Wyatt was struggling with his new found sobriety and his was not on a day to day “let’s make it through” but on a minute to minute battle because he had so many issues that he was trying to deal with. Not many people knew of Wyatt and everything he had gone through as a child which was always an underlying issue with his addictions. Wyatt had no faith in himself and did not want to be the one who took the band down. Wyatt couldn’t see anything positive except he knew that the guys were the most important thing in the world to him and he didn’t want them to hurt in anyway. Poppy had used this in order to make Wyatt see that he really did have a reason in order to stay clean…do it for them, if not for yourself. Now as for their first meeting, let’s just say that mind-blowing. Poppy had no idea who she was so drawn to because of the darkness of the alleyway but she knew that there was something special about this guy because she was not the type to take to alleyways and hook up with men.
During Poppy’s time with Wyatt she was the one who really believed in him and tried to make him believe in himself. With all of that Poppy and Wyatt began actually having feelings for each other and it didn’t hurt that damn much that the sex was crazy hot and in a way became Wyatt’s next addiction. Poppy had seen firsthand how close this band really was and she felt she really had a vested interest with them since she was the one who believed in them from the beginning and had been a reason why the record label took them on. Besides trying to deal with Wyatt and his sobriety the band also was in need of a bass player since the last one betrayed them all, especially Jared. Who other than Poppy would finally be the one to come up with the perfect guy to fit the bill? But at what cost to Poppy and was she able to deal with her dad’s hard hand that he displayed when it came to Shaken Dirty? Was Wyatt able to stay clean even when he found out the real reason Poppy was there and even then did he think that he deserved being a part of the band and a part of Poppy’s life?

This is my first time reading this author and I have to say that I have found yet another rock romance author that knows how to write a book that pulls you into the band itself and gives you emotions that are all over the board. You can feel your heart breaking sometimes; you can laugh along with some of the band’s antics, and last but not least what is needed in any rock romance book…hot, hot sex!

Fade Into You tells drummer Wyatt Jennings’ story of reclaiming his life and finding love after completing rehab and author Tracy Wolff doesn’t shy away from the temptations or the rollercoaster of cravings that follow a drug addict either. Wyatt basically has to claw his way back up to the top, not just in his professional life where his band Shaken Dirty is getting ready for a big tour but in his personal life where he feels none of his band mates trust him to stay sober. Then he meets Poppy, the band’s new social media consultant. There’s an instant connection and while Wyatt’s attention is diverted from drugs to a woman, he’s not aware that Poppy isn’t what she claims. In fact, she’s the daughter of the record label’s CEO, sent not as a social media consultant but as a glorified babysitter to make sure Wyatt stays clean and sober. Poppy wants to prove to her father once and for all that she can be an asset to the label but as she falls for Wyatt her goals are less clear than her fear of Wyatt falling off the wagon if he learns the truth of her presence among the band.

I liked this book. I really, really liked this book. It had a bit of grit, felt a little raw and had a bit of an edge to it. It was something different because the hero, Wyatt Jennings, had to start from the bottom and work his way up to not only be worthy of the woman he loved but to make peace with himself over his past. That’s something that isn’t really done too much unless the author is going in a dark direction for a romance novel and in this case Fade Into You had its elements of darkness but it wasn’t too dark to where I didn’t enjoy myself. It had moments of humor, of course a lot of passion but it also told a real story about a man trying to put his life back together after letting addiction control him for so long.

I felt an immediate connection to Wyatt, because of his insecurities and vulnerabilities. Tracy Wolff had no problem showing how destroyed this character was in the beginning and how real his struggle was just to make it through one day without a hit. I loved that Wyatt wasn’t sure he was going to be able to stay clean, I loved that he wasn’t over confident and that he was terrified of losing his uphill battle and disappointing his band mates who were his only family. My favorite scenes were when Wyatt would realize how much he meant to each of his band mates and to his best friend because he would catch a glimpse of the hell he put those people through, not because he wasn’t worth it but because he was to these people and they were scared for him. I think that’s what helped him the most, realizing the value these people placed on his health and happiness.

Fade Into You really hit the mark when it came to a comeback story. When the story started, Wyatt had just begun his uphill climb after hitting rock bottom and while Tracy Wolff didn’t hide Wyatt’s demons or the temptation to fall back into drugs, she didn’t soak the story in negativity and sorrow. There was plenty of heat between Wyatt and Poppy along with heart which is important to me and makes a book memorable.

Poppy may have started out as nothing more than an expendable employee in her father’s eyes but as a character she had too much empathy to ever mimic her heartless father’s business practices. Her instincts when it came to the music business made her more than just a regular character but it was her compassion encased in a spine of steel that I loved. She knew when to push and when to give but she was never a push over. Plus she had a great sense of humor.

There were also plenty of supporting characters to focus on in the story. Aside from Wynn’s band mates, there was Poppy’s brother, the golden child of their father’s eye. I expected a smug, entitled brat but Caleb had the same empathetic heart as Poppy and a belief in her abilities that made me want to know more about him. I hope he gets his own story too.

Final Verdict: Wolff is a new to me author and I loved that Fade Into You was my introduction to her work. I hope that I get the chance to read future books in the series and Oh. My. Goodness, there are two previous books.

Hold onto your panties Shaken Dirty fans because the band is finally back and this is one epic story.

Of course it would have epic because it’s the oh so delicious Wyatt Jennings book and let me assure you the wait for this book was most definitely worth it. I’ve been desperate for another Shaken Dirty book and Tracy Wolff more than delivers with Fade Into You. This book had me hooked form the first page and by the time the end rolled around I was a mess of feelings. I loved this story!!!!!

It was so good going back to characters I loved. From the first scene it was like there was never a gap between books. I fell back into lust with the band and when the story got going I was a total goner. I love this series so much.

”He wasn’t sure what it said about him that, despite everything going on, watching her get all worked up was turning him on. Then again, from the moment he’d first laid eyes on her, everything about this woman had made him hot.”

Like I said, this time around its Wyatt’s turn and boy do we get a great story. Since we were last with the band he’s been in rehab again and has just gotten out. Now he’s trying to find his place in the band again and struggling. That is until a chance meeting and a very hot encounter before his comeback gig brings Poppy into his life. The right kind of poppy.

“From one addiction to another, he thought wryly. And how ironic was it that her name was Poppy, when for years that little red flower had been the biggest nemesis in his life.”

Poppy Germaine loves Shaken Dirty. Even though her father owns them via his record label she has never worked with them. That is till her brother sends her to the band undercover to keep an eye on Wyatt and to help with their marketing, all in the hopes of having Poppy prove herself to their tyrant of a father. Should be an easy job till an unforgettable moment in a clubs back alley shatters that idea.

When once was not enough and the chemistry between Poppy and Wyatt is hot enough to melt her panties at ten paces, these two embark on a wild, hot fling that has them both crossing lines they know they shouldn’t be. As they spend more time together they start to get under each other’s skin. When after a heated night and heartbreaking morning together Wyatt realises that Poppy wields the power to make him the Wyatt he needs to be she becomes his inspiration and the music flows.

“He opened to her because he had to, because he couldn’t not let her in when she was holding him so carefully. Kissing him so tenderly. Making him feel so much—and so good—when earlier all he’d wanted was to be numb.”

But that happiness couldn’t last and when a daring move by Poppy infuriates her father and the truth of why she is really there comes out, things are said that drives them apart. But will it be for good or can two people who obviously belong together realise that and find a way to be together or was it a case of one lie to many?

Be prepared to swoon, giggle, sigh, get hot and bothered, cry and have all the feels with this book. Shaken Dirty certainly go through a lot in this book but they do it together as only they can. Jared, Quinn, Ryder and Jamison all get behind Wyatt as only a band like Shaken Dirty can. This reader for one would love for this band to be real.

Tracy Wolff has given us the readers another amazing book set in the Shaken Dirty world and I hope that she doesn’t make us wait forever for Jared’s HEA. Hint, hint!!

•••••••

REVIEW: FADE INTO YOU is the third installment in Tracy Wolff’s contemporary, adult, erotic Shaken Dirty romance series. The series focuses on the members of the rock group Shaken Dirty. This is record executive Poppy Germaine, and Shaken Dirty’s drummer Wyatt Jennings’s story line. FADE INTO YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Poppy and Wyatt) FADE INTO YOU looks at addiction, lies, and heartbreak as Wyatt Jennings discovers that rehab is only the start on his long road to recovery. Wyatt is an addict-alcohol and heroine are his drugs of choice-but a few hours out of rehab and Wyatt is struggling to stay clean and sober. Enter Poppy Germaine-an executive from the band’s label-but a woman working under the guise of a social media princess. What ensues is the building relationship between Poppy and Wyatt, and Wyatt’s battles with his demons, his past, and the members of the band.

Poppy is on assignment, and with it comes the responsibility of her father’s record label but Poppy is no newcomer to the music scene. As our heroine struggles with her attraction to Wyatt, she finds herself falling in love with a man who battles both internal and external demons.

The relationship between Poppy and Wyatt is one of insta-lust that begins within minutes of Poppy mistakenly making out, in a dark alley, with Wyatt Jennings. Poppy needs to overcome her crush on the band’s drummer to effectively take control of Wyatt’s sobriety but saying and doing are two different things when Wyatt’s need for Poppy is almost as strong as his addiction to alcohol and drugs. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense. There is no denying the intense heat of want and need but the insta-lust/love felt a little too rushed even for an insta-love story line.

The world building continues to look at the band’s infrastructure: their struggle to find a new bassist in light of Micah’s betrayal; Wyatt’s battle with staying clean and sober; and the band’s potential fall out with their recording label.

FADE INTO YOU is an emotional story line about one man’s fall from grace, and the demons he continues to battle from past through to the present. The premise is dramatic and intense; the characters are impassioned and real; the romance is a quick build to a happily ever after.

Review
The wait for Wyatt's story has been long and tortuous.  I've had a soft spot for him since the beginning, and Fade Into You completely filled that void.

Wyatt and Poppy are amazing through their interactions.  He's broody and stubborn, while Poppy is optimistic and stubborn.  Let the two clash, but oh so perfectly. They go head to head, and then make up.... If you know you what I mean. :P  And the opening chapter is pretty great, and slightly embarrassing and awkward. But they move on from that so well.

We all knew Wyatt's story would be rocky and tragic, and it is, but it's also peppered with little bits of hope.  He's a recovering addict, and it's hard road to travel.  The want never goes away and it's a constant battle to stay on the straight and narrow.  Wolff did an amazing job of showing the struggle and coming to terms with how things will always be.  It gets easier, but  never really disappears completely.

I've also decided that Poppy's dad is a complete jerk.  I can't stand him and wanted to throat punch him many times.  Her brother has her back most of the time, but it's hard when their father pushes him into a corner.  I adore Poppy.  Her love of music is apparent, and she doesn't back down from a challenge.  She's such a strong character, and takes chances even when they can put her in sticky situations.

Overall, I loved this story so hard.  The dedication of the guys in the band to their friend is amazing. Even when Wyatt thinks he doesn't deserve it, his friends never let him down.   I can't wait for the next Shaken Dirty novel.

Series: Shaken Dirty #3

Overview

She's one addiction he can't resist.

Wyatt Jennings has been called a lot of things by the media. Bad-boy rocker. Intense drummer. Addict.

Finally out of rehab and desperate for a fresh start, Wyatt rejoins his mega-platinum rock band Shaken Dirty as they prepare for their world tour. But Wyatt's demons are never far behind, always nipping at his heels for one. More. Fix.

Enter Poppy Germaine, the band's new social media consultant. A beautiful bombshell who somehow manages to get underneath Wyatt's skin, Poppy's an addiction Wyatt can get behind. And even though she's with the label-and therefore off-limits-he craves her. Needs her.

Except Poppy isn't actually a social media consultant. She's the daughter of the label's CEO, sent undercover to babysit Wyatt and keep him from falling off the wagon again. Proving herself to her father is Poppy's only goal-until she finds herself in Wyatt's bed. But if Wyatt discovers the truth, it could send him spiraling all over again...

My Thoughts

The saga continues, this time we're getting to see the troubled tale of Wyatt, who's fresh out of rehab, trying to get his life back in balance. Because he's a liability, the record label wants to send someone to babysit, and that someone ends up being Poppy - who's the daughter of the head of the label, and also the one who discovered the band. She's got to stay under cover of course, in how she 'manages' Wyatt, and we all know that it means that romance is going to come into play.

The story that we get here, it's one that's both expected and a bit deeper than expected. Yes, it's commonplace to have the rockstar addict as a story line, but in this one, we have to get about half way to 3/4 of the way through in order to see things beginning to hit home for everyone what is at stake, and what their worth is to everyone. If it wasn't enough that we had the story line of Wyatt, we're also learning about the process to replace Micah now that he's been ousted from the band.

Typical of the other books in this series, we get a sweet romance starting here, although for the bulk of their interactions, it's more about sex than about romance and relationship. Of course they are both in denial of what's in front of their face, but i think that it's always that catalyst of someone lying and up and leaving that makes things actually happen. The ending that we get here though, totally didn't expect it to happen as it did, and it's nice.

In addition to the plot line of following Wyatt, we see that Poppy finds herself at a crossroads since she's never been given the chance to prove that she's an amazing talent scout and record exec. She's always being forced to stay behind her brother and never get the credit that's due. We see how that plays out here and that's an interesting twist as well.

So all in all, pretty good continuation of the series, and i can't wait to get into Jared and Drew's stories now that they have still to be told.
