Another great read from Carrie Ann Ryan, I cannot get enough of the Montgomery’s. I can't say that this series gets better and better because honestly I love each of the books but what I love most about all of the Montgomery family members, in this series as well as the other ones, is that they are always there for one another without judgement.
Most people would frown against someone getting together with their best friends ex but I honestly believe Thea and Dimitri should have been together right from the very start of their friendship. They clicked in ways not many do and thankfully Thea's family felt the same way, no judgement gotta love that. Molly is Dimitri's ex and Thea's best friend but I didn't get either one since the woman rubbed me the wrong way right from the start, I just didn't understand how sweet Thea could be BFFs with her, she was so rude! Ugghh maybe I'm just letting my dealings with crazy ex's cloud my judgement but you read this book and tell me if I'm wrong.
Restless Ink is the catalysis for so many upcoming books, Jagged Ink is Roxy and Carter's book which I am really excited about I think I may know what is going on between them but who knows if I am reading the clues right, also we are being blessed with a NEW SERIES that will feature the Carr siblings, that's right Dimitri's siblings are getting their own siblings and after meeting them in this book I cannot wait to see what kind of trouble....I mean, well you know what I mean, they will find themselves in.
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone that has enjoyed any of Carrie Ann Ryan's Montgomery Ink books, and if you haven't read any of her books yet you really are missing something great so dive right on in. Happy Reading!!!
Restless Ink had some ominous action, and I really liked it! Of course, the fact that there was a lot of baked goods only helped me enjoy myself even more :)
I knew the book was not going to be a favorite of mine when it began with Thea just having slept with Roger. It's a chapter long ordeal and as you know, I hate books where we see the hero or heroine sleeping or having slept with someone other than the other main character. The book just lost me as a reader there and I stopped reading it for a while. When I continued reading it, I just couldn't get invested in Thea and Dimitri's story. And speaking of sleeping with other people, we have Molly, Dimitri's ex and Thea's "best friend" appear too much in the story. I hated her and I don't feel like we got a satisfying enough explanation for her actions in this book. Also, did I miss the part where we find out how Thea's plan about expanding will happen?
Roxie and Carter stole the spotlight and I am dying to read their book. In Restless Ink we are only teased about it and I want to see what made them have a strained relationship. Roxie never said anything about it to Thea and it got on my nerves in a good way. I would just love to see what was going on between her and her husband because you can see that Carter loves her a ton. Did they lose a baby or something as tragic? Are they just drifting apart? I don't know and I need to find out,
The brightest spotlight was on Captain. I loved that dog, Thea loved the dog, Dimitri loved his dog. Everyone loved the dog. He had the best relationship with Dimitri. I hope we will see more of that canine in the future books. Another thing that was good was finding out that the author plans to write a series with Dimitri's family as the main characters. The universe is expanding even more and I am in for that!
Overall, the book is not going to be one of my favorite books by this author. It made me think that we will always have an ex-wife/husband thing going on in the series and I am a fan of that idea, especially since Roxie and Carter are still married. I guess we will see what will happen next in the future books in the serie. I would recommend it with some hesitation.
Book 2 of the Montgomery Ink Colorado Springs series by Carrie Ann Ryan. This book is based around Thea Montgomery and Dimitri. Thea own a bakery in Colorado Springs and Dimitri is a maths teacher, they were friends until Dimitri divorce his wife molly and Thea BF after that the friendship between Thea and Dimitri became weird because Molly sort of played sides but Thea hadn’t really realised this until it was way too late. Thea and Dimitri reconnected and sparks ignited. This book is a very slow burner and takes a lot of time building the relationship and friendship between them. I also love that all the other previous characters come out for game night and your introduced more to other siblings like the Carrs Dimitri brothers and sister. Love the spin offs to Montgomery ink but it’s getting harder to keep track with so many characters being introduced into series. Great epilogue and HEA.
I love Thea and Dimitri. I love them wanting to respect Dimitri’s ex and her so called BF, even when she didn’t deserve it. I loved Montgomery game night. It seemed such a good time spending it with family and friends. The dynamic of Montgomery clan was so funny and I loved how they welcomed Dimitri without much of a hassle.
I loved how their relationship progressed after they talked about how they wanted to try and see if they can make the relationship work. Thea is my spirit animal with her love for cheese. I want to tell you more about it but don’t want to give too much away. It was a quick and fun read filled with laughter, sexy times and a dog so cute you’ll want to adopt one right after finishing this book.

I loved the first book in this series ( and every other book connected to it in any way) but this second book almost beat it for me. The was love and romance, heartache and guilt, mystery and suspense. what more could you want???
SPOILER ALERT!!! Dontread any further if you dont want to know.
I knew there was something 'hicky' about that woman.
Now comes the wait to Roxie and Carter's book. We got a few hints in this book as to what might be the problem between the pair, but its the events at the end of this book that really got me excited for it.
Oh how I love the Montgomerys. The entire family is one you just love from the first time you meet them. You feel welcome in the family, whether it is the original bunch, the cousins, or the married into the family, they are super.
This book is such a gripping story, you cannot put it down until you find out what happens. You want to understand the underdog, yet you want the H/h to have their HEA without any issues, but then where would the story be. When all the emotions and doubt are floating around, it tests your values of friendship and new love.
Every book by Carrie Ann Ryan is totally gripping, pulling you in and keeping you there, begging for more!!! I want MORE!!!
Another winner for me. I love how Carrie Ann Ryan's characters intertwine and appear across her series! And any Montgomery is good for me. In this latest installment, Thea, Shep's sister, battles her feelings for her friend versus a feeling of loyalty to another. She and Dimitri were friends, but she was 'best friends' with his Ex, Molly. I wondered how they'd work, because, yeah, girl code. I guess a heart wants what it wants, but I wasn't sure if I'd buy into it.
I did feel sorry for Dimitri, he lost everything, AND his dog as his new apartment didn't allow them. The relationship between him and his ex was so complicated. I'd initially felt like they were two mature adults, who still loved each other, but weren't 'in love' with each other. Molly kept the dog and Dimitri got to see him and take him out. And he continued to help her out around the house.
Molly's friendship with Thea was another subject. I thought it a friendship, of sorts, but not a 'bestie' friendship, and I wondered when Thea would wake up and see that. Especially since her sisters did. After Molly professed to be so happy for her two friends when she found out that that they'd made out, I started paying even more attention to the little things she did. Her passive aggressiveness toward Thea, her sweet nastiness towards Dimitri became even more noticible.
Against that backdrop and other issues, I enjoyed reading the sweet friends to lovers story. Thea had her hands full with her bakery and her ideas for expansion, and Dimitri coping with his unhappiness in his personal life and his professional life with a new administration at the school he taught in.
I loved the acceptance of the Montgomery crew, as always, as they accepted and befriended Dimitri. And that's when I love seeing old friends again! Not going to spoil, but this HEA was hard fought and I loved it. Can't wait to read Roxi's story next!
Restless Ink is the second book in the Montgomery Ink Colorado Springs series and this book is Carrie Ann Ryan at her utmost best. Thea and Dimitri's story will have you on a roller coaster of emotions and have you on the edge of your seat. Their story is unpredictable and captivating. This second book in the series is a little of forbidden love with a side of friends to lovers all wrapped up in one steamy action packed romance.
Even though I've said it before (and I swear I say it every single time), every new Carrie Ann Ryan book keeps getting better and better. Which is crazy because I LOVE all of them. How is this even possible? The only thing I can envision is that meme making the social media rounds, Carrie Ann Ryan style. "This book was the best yet. There is no way Carrie Ann Ryan can top that." Then we see a picture of the author saying "hold my beer". Cheesy I know but that's why I'm writing reviews and not books.
This book was phenomenal! I loved Thea and Dimitri. It was one of those stories where you can't read fast enough because you KNOW something is brewing but you don't know what. However, you don't want to read too fast because you want to savor every bit of it.
It was great to revisit characters from past books although they do play a minor role so you don't have to read the books in order but Ms. Ryan keeps cranking out hit after hit so I highly recommend giving them a try. I cannot wait to finally find out what's happening between Roxie and Carter!
Thea and Dimitri were friends for years, after his divorce, they drifted and after a bad night Thea runs into him again in a story. Their friendship picks back up and quickly becomes something more but Thea is riddled with guilt that she has feelings for her best friends ex-husband.
This was an okay read, the pace wasn’t as great as the previous books and I had a lot of trouble getting past the fact that Molly, Dimitri’s ex-wife is Thea’s best friend and their whole love triangle thing at the beginning of the book was just hard to get past for me. I also didn’t like that Thea is so indecisive throughout the story, I just wanted to yell at her to make up her mind. The parts of this story that I enjoyed were definitely the Montgomery’s – I feel in love with their family in book one and even though this book didn’t really do it for me I am looking forward to where book 3 goes.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
Restless Ink (Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs #2) by Carrie Ann Ryan 3 stars M/F Friends to Romance Triggers: Mental Health issues I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Thea and Dimitri have known each other for several years. Dimitri married a good friend of Thea's and that's all they wrote. Despite knowing Dimitri and Molly, Dimitri's ex-wife, separately before - in fact, Thea was the one who introduced them, Thea felt that she had kind of left her friendship with Dimitri diminish after the divorce.
When Thea is having a rough night with a bad date, she runs in to Dimitri. It is happy coincidence, but it helps them rekindle their friendship. Dimitri is just realizing how much he sacrificed for his relationship with his ex-wife and how much he missed out on doing.
Thea is part of the Montgomery crew and they are a protective bunch. When things start to go wrong for Thea and her business, everyone will rally and try to figure it out. Thea and Dimitri have to look at some hard truths.
This was an OK story for me. I think the previous book was much more successful for me. Thea was too wishy-washy and despite being an amazing business woman, had a difficult time making decisions that were not made out of guilt. Dimitri was not very well developed for as long as he was supposed to have known Thea and the rest of the crew. Their romance did not have great chemistry - it was definitely a friends to romance feel. I also didn't like the resolution - perhaps there is more to the resolution in the third installment, but for me, this was just too unfinished. However, it is NOT a cliffhanger.
I like all of the secondary characters a lot and hope more get their own story.
DiAngelea Millar wrote this review for Lit Shit Podcast. This is a solid, dramatic romance.
We have Thea and Dimitri who were friends before he married her “best friend” and they got divorced and Thea pushed him away. A chance encounter brings them into each other’s lives again and Thea can’t deny the attraction.
They give in and start a romance all the while trying to make sure the best friend, Molly, isn’t offended. Molly says it’s fine and even encourages them to pursue it, which is obviously not weird or realistic. Also Molly isn’t a good person she’s mean to Thea and a snob so idk why they’re friends but they kind of aren’t Thea is just dumb.
Dimitri doesn’t want Molly in his life anymore but Molly kept his dog so he kind of has to keep in contact because he wants his dog back. Anyway, a string of occurrences happen. Molly lies and tells Thea that Dimitri can eat shellfish, but he’s allergic. She also buys all this expensive flour and sends it to Molly as a cover up for the tampering of the oven that she paid off some guy to do. The oven causes a fire/explosion that injures Thea and her brother in law. Also Molly has been lying about the dog, to what extent we don’t know. I suspect some animal abuse but we weren’t directly told which I guess I’m grateful for.
Anyway, Molly lies about the dog running off to get Dimitri back where she attacks him. Thea finds him and attacks Molly. The dog frees itself from some room/closet.
They all love HEA.
It’s really dramatic and crazy and I enjoyed it. It was obvious Molly was up to no good, though.
When Dimitri Carr and his wife divorced, he was bummed about losing her BFF Thea Montgomery as a friend. After the pair reconnect, they realize there's much more behind their friendship, and things quickly take a turn toward crossing the line. Even though Dimitri's ex claims to be fine with their new relationship, when hinky things start occurring to Thea, the couple soon realizes things aren't what they see on the surface. For the two of them, it seems there are serious consequences to making the jump from friends to lovers.
I really liked RESTLESS INK, book 2 in the Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs series. The unique plot about a woman falling for her BFF's ex-husband felt fresh, even more so when the underhanded revenge started happening. I loved Dimitri and Thea together, I loved Dimitri's relationship with his dog and I loved Thea's boisterous circle of family and friends. And honestly, I liked Molly's character as well, even though she was passive-aggressively crazy. Plus, Ms. Ryan featured a foodie setting, which is my favorite (mmmmm…cheeeeeese!), lots of tattoos (yes, please!) and an undercurrent of danger that kept me on edge waiting for the next strike. This is an excellent read that'll have you wishing your high school math teacher was as yummy as Dimitri!
Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; mixed condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; violence, no murder.

I’ve got to admit I enjoyed this book more as a audible then when I read it. Joe Arden wasn’t a favourite at start but I’m definitely liking his narrative voice especially way he does the guys voices. Love the spin offs to Montgomery ink but it’s getting harder to keep track with so many characters being introduced into series. Great epilogue and HEA.
Restless Ink, book 2 of the Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs/book 10 of the Montgomery Ink, series by Carrie Ann Ryan @carrieannryanauthor. Carrie Ann is a fantastic author! I am reading the Montgomery world in chronological order from Carrie Ann’s website.
What a fantastic book about Thea & Dimitri! Tropes: Contemporary, Male/Female, Friends to Lovers, Ex Drama, Captain the Golden Retriever (totally stole the show!), Large Extended Family for Both Thea & Dimitri, No 3rd Act Break Up & HEA!
The strong start to this series continues with Restless Ink. Right from the very first page, this story sucked me in.
And this couple? Oh, I love them - individually and as a couple. Their restraint. Their respect. Their interactions.
And there is a lot going on with this book. The extended cast of characters add a wonderful familial dimension that lends the whole story a more rounded feel.
Truly enjoyable.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Thea Montgomery, owner of Colorado Icing, a bakery was ready to give up on men after her latest date turned out to be a total disaster. She ran into an old friend she hadn't seen in weeks. Turned out seeing that said friend made her aware of things she didn't know she felt for him.
Dimitri Carr, a teacher who loved ink. He did everything in his power to make sure his bosses were happy. He was also a devoted brother and friend. When he divorced his wife, he thought he would lose Thea's friendship also. Seeing that she was his ex-wife's best friend.
She did keep him at arm's length for some time but after an unexpected run in with Thea, they decided to reconnect.. As he and Thea kept spending more time together, there was a growing attraction between them. One they both tried to resist for a very long time.
Baking wasn't only therapeutic, it was doing what she loved. Now that her business was blooming, she was ready to expand. With her family and Dimitri's support, she was making her dreams come true. As her feelings for Dimitri kept growing and vice versa, they had to face lots of obstacles.
Love how the Montgomery cousins reminded me of the Montgomery from Denver. They always had each other's backs, no matter what. It was also a treat to meet Dimitri's siblings, loved how they were there for him and Thea.
Dimitri, Thea and their boy, Captain (Dimitri's dog) finally got their HEA ;).
RESTLESS INK the second book in Carrie Ann Ryan's MONTGOMERY INK: COLORADO SPRINGS series was enthralling, daring, sexy and alluring. Another masterpiece by Carrie Ann Ryan. 5++++
P. S. Can't wait for Roxie and Carter's story!
****I received this book without any obligation to review.****

Thea and Dimitri-friends, questionable friends following a divorce and then lovers......what a road these twomhave traveled! Throw in a hunky dog and a hinky ex and you've got yourself a fantastic story!
Captain, Dmitri’s golden retriever, was the best part of the story! I liked Dmitri too, but his ex-wife Molly was off her rocker nutty. Thea was okay, but her habit of over-analyzing her friendship with Molly, and developing relationship with Dmitri made my head hurt.
Thea is such a sweetheart. I like her can do attitude, her incredible work ethic, and her loyalty to friends and family. But that is also why she is thirty and has no love life. Her reconnection with Dimitri after his divorce puts him in a new light, and her to him. Complicated does not even start to describe their feelings. Or ours. I felt so drawn to this couple who were in a really difficult situation and the twists in this tale made it an even more enthralling read.
Book 2 in the Montgomery Ink: Colorado Ink series I enjoyed this one better than the 1st book in the series. This is a great friends to lovers story. Thea and Dimitri have great chemistry, you could feel their connection throughout the book, but Thea is hesitant to act on her feelings because Dimitri is her bff's ex-husband. Good romance and drama. Also love the family support from both sides. These characters will have you rooting for their HEA.
I love the world this author has created. I love the Montgomery family. I’ll admit, there are still a few books I haven’t read yet, but I will.
When I read the first book in this series, there were a couple secondary characters that stuck out…Thea and Dmitry. I was intrigued by them and their connection.
So when I saw they were the couple of this book, I was excited. They practically stole the show as secondary characters, and now I was FINALLY getting their book. And let me let you, IT DIDN’T DISAPPOINT.
I loved every moment of Thea & Dmitry together. I loved their friendship and watching them realize there was more there. They had great chemistry. And yes, Thea was uncomfortable about dating her friend’s ex, but she was upfront about it. She didn’t hide it. She went to Molly and told her what was going on.
Ok, so speaking of Molly…I didn’t like her or trust her from page 1. She was not a friend to Thea. I hated how she would subtly put Thea and her business down, while taking free drinks and stuff from Thea. Add in how weirdly enthusiastic she was about Thea and Dmitry and I smelled something foul. Sure enough, she showed her true colors and they were awful.
However, the end result was a great book. And I’m extremely curious about Roxie and Carter. I’ dying to find out what’s going on with them and how he’s doing after the events of this book.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the second book in this series, and is connected to previous series, so a regular fan will fall right into this one with great pleasure.
Thea may have her premises near to the tattoo parlour, but her passion is baking, and her business is doing well. One of the lovely things about the book is how great it is to catch up with the Montgomery clans, their partners, children and work. The closeness of the women, and the adoption of Dmitri into the fold is very entertaining and gives a wonderful vibe to the story. It also helps to show how Molly is such an unexpected fit as a friend for Thea.
Molly is a sad character and I thought the twists were well done and the faith that both Dmitri and Thea had in her gave you a sense of their natures, far more than of hers. The fact that there was a dog mixed up the story added some clever interruptions, which broke up the flow and the ease of their renewed friendship.
I thought that the flow worked well, the romance was hot and spicy, as well as being comfortable and believable. There are plenty more stories to come from this bunch of lovely people and I need Roxy and Carter to be happy again, so I hope that happens soon.
Every time I escape into one of Carrie Ann Ryan's book I'm captivated and consumed. Restless Ink did more than that. I was pleasantly and completely engaged that anything outside of this story ceased to exist. A absolutely amazing story!
