If she hadn't smiled at him, maybe he would've been able to resist her. No, that's not true. It wasn't only her smile that called to him. It was her eyes, her curves, her voice, everything about Monique Rose makes crime boss, Orazio Cattaneo, want to possess her. When the skittish divorcee flirts with him after a dare from her friends, he decides he must have her then & there. What Orazio wants, Orazio gets. And he wants a taste of Rose. But he didn't expect to become addicted after one taste.
Dangerous Contract Part One ends on a cliffhanger and was previously available on Kindle Vella.
Orazio Cattaneo was done in when he first laid eyes on Monique Rose Wilks. But when he found out who her husband was, that made him more determined to make her his. With a husband like Trevor Wilks, it was easy. He didn't deserve a wife like his la mia Belleza. When the time was right, he made her his. Rosa was just as taken by Raz and he was her. He had concerns about her being brought into his mafia crime business lifestyle. He knew that he did not deserve a woman like his Rosa. But Trevor had plans that put her in danger.
There was a familial problem with the Cattaneo men, they don't know how to handle being in love. But when they love they love hard, but kidnapping? Really? That didn't go over too well with Monique Rose or her girlfriends. I loved her girlfriends. They are the BFFs you want protecting your back.
I loved reading this drama and can;t wait for book 2.
Monique Rose and Orazio Cattaneo first met at his casino. Orazio was instantly attracted to her and basically bought her from her husband Trevor who had wanted to kill or sell her to pay his gambling debts to Cas, Orazio’s brother.
Rose and Raz eventually met after her divorce and got together initially via “ complimentary kidnapping” as her friend, Toya, called it.
They fell in love. I liked how this man was so ruthless and powerful with his business but so vulnerable with his woman. Orazio vowed that he would protect his woman with his life.
All he asked was that she protect his heart. He’d never given it away before. She was nervous about falling in love again. He was just as nervous about falling in love for the very first time.
Dislike Cliffhangers…Like that I just need to wait a little bit. Monique is very naive in that it never bothered her that Trevor wanted her dead. SMH over her family.
Ok you are so right I am in love with this family, I want to tell Orazio go ahead and unleash the beast. Make everyone regret messing with your woman Rose. I can not wait to read the next part, I am so reading this over.
I usually read cliffhangers when they both have been released but I read the novella and got hooked. The characters coming out are a bunch of mischievous folks all with a backstory I can’t wait to see how this all turns out
It’s alright enough for me to read the next part just to know what happens. Not enough for more stars cause seriously their mafia family that seems a little weak 🤷🏽♀️
I know I have read longer books. So I can only surmise that the problem here was the writing. It felt never ending! At that point, I just want it all to be over.
The author tried to fit everything in this novel and that was a problem.
Interracial romance. Mafia romance. Social issues. Fat shaming. Insta love. Insta lust. EVERY back story and unnecessary detail.
The conversations were awkward and stilted. Their inner monologues were worse and LONG.
I had second hand embarrassment reading some of the dialogues and then you would have a really good moment between Monique and Raz and then we were back to the awkwardness again.
Also, though it doesn’t feel like it, the actual story took place over four days!
There are so many story lines running parallel that I just can’t get my head around any one thing.
As it relates to their life of crime, be for real. I am a bit disappointed because their father’s obsession with their mother and her lack of interest made me think I was up for some dysfunctional family drama between the sex and wooing of Monique Rose.
How wrong was I.
I like my bad men bad. Shocking!
So when I see bad men acquiescing to something like a false sexual assault claim, I am taken aback. Because how do you own 80 per cent of the city and that is what brings your entire family to its knees?
Be so for real.
The unfortunate thing is that I believe Raz is a bad man and leader of his family. He just needs to be written properly. He is the only reason I am considering reading book two.
Monique is a conundrum to me. I don’t know what he sees in her. I don’t understand her equal parts boldness and naivety. I CERTAINLY don't understand her family drama.
In the eyes of Raz, she is a vixen. Outside of that, I would never know she is 40. Also, how are you divorced for a year with little to no assets and a resume as a housewife but have somehow remained unemployed? How are you taking care of your mortgage and things? Because I am sure that man left you with nothing more or less than what he thought you deserved. Which is nothing.
I love Toya. She is the right balance of ratchet. Meka confuses me like the rest of this book and I can’t be bothered to sum up the other characters. Also, is Leo employed to them or a friend? Because I am VERY confused.
This just wasn’t for me. Too many times I thought about marking it as a DNF because it’s equal parts overwhelming and underwhelming. No in between. It just volleyed between both.
This was an ok read. Orazio and Monique, they were starting to grow on me. I do love that Monique, even in the emotional beating she took frm her past, she was a woman with a backbone. We see a FMC with some boundaries and strength to demand respect. We see M'Renee giving BBW love properly and writing her MMC to truly love her just as she was. You love to see the FMC that he didn't expect, never saw coming to take the big bad wolf down with a smile and a wink😉. I laughed throughout the book because her friends and the other side characters and personalities were hilarious. However, things that were my fav...the third person narration of the whole book. It was weird to me, I wanted to just get the 2 MCs POV...that's it that's all. We didn't see very much of the gangster life-only at the very beginning and end of the book. They didn't come off as the big bad wolves, they seemed kind of soft, unorganized and not focused on the tasks at hand. M'Renee did a good job of balancing their emotions/love giving them reason to be open to the love interest, but still standing on who they are as mafia men/gansters. The villains being more calculating than them threw me a bit also with just basic strategy and war planning for Orazio to be from this powerful mafia family. The cliffhanger ending wud be kind of abrupt as well if book 2 wasn't already available. I need a lot more, because at this point Orazio and his family look weak, Monique is way too naive and everybody is moving like amateurs.
Monique Rose Wilks life changes for the better on the night of her anniversary though she will be clueless for months. Unbeknownest to Monique, her no-good husband owes a debt to the mafia and is willing to trade her life and well-being for money so he can start a new life with his mistress.
When Orazio Cattaneo sees Monique from afar, he senses her loneliness, and puts a stop to her husband's nefariouos plans. Promises are made, and the deal is sealed under the promise of death to get her husband to acquiesce to Orazio's own future plans.
Months later, Monique is divorced, and sad but a night out with her besties will change the course of her life. She's dared by her friends, and she sets of her sight on Orazio, they banter and they go to his room where they both have a very pleasurable night. When daylight arrives, Monique discovers just how crazy Orazio is about her, and she's not having it.
Eventually, Orazio is talked off the ledge and sees the error of his ways. He makes a proposal to Monique, she's intrigued, and decides she's going to keep an open mind. When outside forces intervenes in their burgeoning romance they both realize—separately—they are on a path of no return! Highly Recommended: Read this Book!
Dangerous Contract (Book 2) drops on February 15, 2025.
WOW I enjoyed this story it's the first in this series. OH MY this will easily keeps you on edge from the beginning. This story will easily steal your heart with the powerful combination of secrets and excitement The suspense will easily capture your interest. Plus all of the characters are so captivating and the family is fantastic and their relationship is awesome. The storyline is great with some sad and laughable moments then you add in their drama, along with their emotions their love and the intriguing twists they go through you have a tale that's magnificent and truly delightful." Plus the gang characters are amazing with humor that just worked so well together that I couldn't help but enjoyed their story along with how the suspense is built it's such a marvelous thing." This is definitely a awesome story to read but for one thing and that's the cliffhanger but if you enjoy a good cliffhanger then this is it.because it all works out well together.I must say this is truly fantastic story and I'm excited to read the next story which I Highly Recommend Reading this one
I have been waiting for this story to be released in Ebook format ever since it was on Kindle Vella. I absolutely love everything about Raz and Monique. Their chemistry is undeniable and burns white hot. Raz has no problem showing his woman how much he wants and loves her. The other characters makes this story really come alive and I find myself wanting to know more about Cas, Leo, and Monique's friends Meka and Toya. I'm hoping that the the author will bring us these stories!!!
Monique and Orazio, what are y’all doing to me? I love how obsessed Raz is with Monique (his Rosa) and how he shows her how awesome and beautiful she is just as she is. Of course, their love story started off bumpy, but a good story often does. Monique had this tough mafia boss eating out of her hands and thinking flowery things. Just when we were about to see his dark side handling his family’s business, his family’s enemies strike. Cliffhanger! Be warned. Now I’m off to read Part II.
Really romantic and humorous novel. This novel puts the reader through a range of feelings as we soar to those great dizzying heights as Monique and Raz's relationship begin to grow and become more meaningful. We support them. But it also plummets as they both make decisions which will have serious consequences. This is such an emotional Mafia novel as we root for our protagonists. We are left on a cliff hanger... Great read!! Thoroughly engaging!! Already bought the next book in the series!!
Ms. Allen… ma’am! This was oh so good! I love the development over time and how quickly Raz and Monique hit it off. I was cracking up laughing on some parts and loved the banter with her friends. There was a lot of steam but some really good real life points made as well. The ending is a cliffhanger so get ready. Can’t wait until book 2 drops, I’ve already preordered my copy.
I did not expect to laugh and cry while reading this book, but I did both.
Monique is a divorcee that went out with some frineds to start feeling normal again. She met Raz, Orazio during this night out, but she doesnt remember their very first meeting
Their relationship was not with issues, but the issues involved external factors that they were not aware of.
This was an good read. My first by this author and it got me out of a reading slump, Raz and Rose had an interesting journey to true love with lot of outside interpretations and people with their own agenda for the couple. The story was enjoyable, engaging and entertaining; solid plot, style of writing, drama, action and the right amount of spice without becoming porn and of course a HEA after a few trips to the hospital 😂😂
I love me some him!!!!! Raz, Raz, Razzzzz. Talk about someone wanting you that much! Handle your problems at the beginning and you won’t have them problems in the end!!!! I love this book, it’s entertaining, sizzling hot and spicy. Ppl are so dirty inside, when someone shows you who they are, believe them!!!!! Can’t wait to read about Cas’s journey.
I almost DNF this book but I’m so glad I gave it another shot. I enjoyed this dark romance. It was sexy and funny.
I really enjoyed the character development. He falls first and as always….I’m here for reading about Black women being cherished, desired, and protected.
There were several times I had to stop reading because there was no way I read what I just read 🥵😳
I think Raz is my new book boyfriend 🤭 The way he loves and lusts after Monique just as she is… ❤️
After reading the first half of this book, are guaranteed to seek the pleasure your lust desires. There just isn't any way around it. The heat between Raz and Rose is too much to bear. You will feel it coming from the pages. The fire was too much, I had to cool down.
I don’t usually indulge the —> (2) two part, cliffhanger, or continue series, but this was well worth the read !!!! It had me shocked, amazed, pissed, crying mad, crying sad, crying laughing….Loved it I will be reading part 2 and any other books in this series
I love his book! It started out a little slow. Then I laughed so hard, I was crying. I immediately sent the link to my sisters telling them they needed to read. THEN the end about took me out! I am so on the next book right now! This is the book I didn't know I was missing!
I enjoyed this book so much! The banter between all of the characters was so wonderful and was so much fun to read! I absolutely loved how this author tied everyone’s stories together! It’s a masterpiece in writing how M’Renee Allen made you want to know each characters story, and the sexy scenes were so🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! I loved part 1 and 2 both!!!
Exciting story with elements of betrayal, obsession, sizzling🌶🌶🌶🌶❤ & mafia drama. There is also an unexpectedly hilarious rom com vibe among Orazio, Monique & the supporting characters, including ride or die besties that provide side splitting comic relief😆.This book ends on a twisted, heartbreaking😱cliffy, so I'm off to discover what's happening with these crazy Cattaneo crime lords😰
I enjoyed the characters in this story, never has a book made me laugh so much. Loved the friendship with Monique, Mika and Toya. I am looking forward to reading Book 2.
I enjoyed this novel very much. Her ex-husband is rotten to the core. Her friends were hilarious 😂 and nutty. The romance and commitment shown is what every woman dreams of. Looking forward to reading Pt2
He spotted her sitting in his casino’s lobby, and admiring her… imagine his surprise when his ex employee whom they are interrogating pointed her out as his wife, and the things that said employee was plotting against her. Raz fell hard for this woman , He went to great length to get her… but his world is not for innocent and his enemies are watching…
This book is loaded with twists and turns & will keep enthralled.
Oh my! This is action packed, no spelling errors, flows nicely. But the best part is you can't guess what happens next. I am about to read the next one now. Damn, I'm late for work!
