From the New York Times–bestselling author of Reese's Book Club pick The Last Mrs. Parrish comes two page-turning domestic thriller novellas.
In My Sister's Daughter, Ashley Bowers hopes her recently orphaned thirteen-year-old niece, Serena, will blend seamlessly into her own family once they've all had time to mourn. But as days become weeks, a series of troubling occurrences turn the once-peaceful Bowers home into a maelstrom of accusation, denial, and fear. Is Serena simply acting out after the tragic loss of both her parents? Or is something far more dangerous happening under Ashley's own roof?
A year after the death of her four-year-old son, Silent Echo's Charlotte Fleming is sleepwalking through life. Then she sees something that jolts her Sebastion, alive and well in a stranger's social media post. As Charlotte obsessively searches for further indication that her son's accident was not what it seemed, she begins to suspect not only didn't he die—he was taken. And unearthing the perpetrator could shatter her world all over again.

📘My Sister’s Daughter 🌟🌟🌟 With the sudden death of Ashley’s sister there’s no one to look after her teenage daughter, Serena. So naturally, Ashley brings her home to be part of her family. And to say the least, things aren’t going well. Exactly who did she just invite into her home?
📘The Silent Echo🌟🌟🌟💫 Charlotte is grieving the loss of her son when his school bus plunged over the side of the bridge into the river. A year later she still can’t stop blaming herself for his death, and she keeps seeing him everywhere. Is that a natural part of her grieving? Or something more?
Both novellas were entertaining but I just couldn’t connect to either Ashley or Charlotte. Even though they were both novellas I wanted more depth. (Maybe that’s just a me thing.)
⛔️ The ARC copy I was given was more of an incomplete proof. Sentences would just stop midway leaving me to use my imagination to finish them.(do I get writing credit for that?)😜 I’ve been an ARC reader for years having read over 1000 of them and never received a copy like this. Did that take away from my reading experience? Perhaps? Somewhat?💁🏻♀️
Another great book by Liv Constantine. She never fails to impress me with her writing. Since this so two separate novels it’s a double win. Both of these stories were true page turners am I enjoyed both of the immensely . I look forward to her next book and her endings always leave me guessing till the last minute. That’s what makes her books so enjoyable because the ending is never what it seems to be or what you thought it would be in the beginning.
This ALC consists of two stories My Sister’s Daughter and Silent Echo. It was cool to have two stories in one and they were very different stories. My Sister’s Daughter had me on the edge of my seat. I was sure at least 3 different times what was going on only to be way off. The twist is very twisty. I really enjoyed the way this story was written and the suspense was top tier.
Silent Echo was very creepy in the sense that this is a situation this could absolutely happen under the right circumstances. I couldn’t even begin to imagine what it would be like to believe your child was gone and then see a picture of them on social media. This story was gripping and tense and the characters were so believable.
I listened to an ALC provided to me by Podium Entertainment and Liv Constantine. The audiobook was narrated by Susanne Freeman who did and excellent job bringing these characters to life.
Both of these novellas were so good! I was hooked with them both and binged to this book the entire day! They were addicting and seriously pulled me in. For me the biggest gut punch was in My Sister's Daughter. I didn't see it coming. It was so good but also gave me some creepy vibes. The narrator, Suzanne Elise Freeman did an amazing job portraying the characters. The emotions a mother would have in either novella was very well done. The portrayal felt so raw and real. I loved it.
A very special thanks to Podium Audio for the gifted audiobook.
ARC Review: In “My Sister’s Daughter” and “Silent Echo,” Liv Constantine crafts two gripping novellas that delve into the profound depths of grief, paranoia, and maternal instinct. These intricately woven stories grab your attention from the very first page, refusing to release their hold until the very end. Each narrative explores the human psyche, where grief, paranoia, and deception intertwine in hauntingly intimate ways. These psychological labyrinths unravel secrets that challenge your perceptions and make you question every truth you held dear. She takes readers on a double shot of psychological tension — stories that dig into the dark corners of family bonds, grief, and the razor-thin line between protection and obsession.
My Sister’s Daughter
Ashley Bowers opens her home — and her heart — to her orphaned niece, Serena, after her sister’s sudden death. But what begins as an act of compassion turns into something chilling. Serena’s quiet resentment and the strange events that follow leave Ashley wondering if her niece’s past tragedies are coincidences or warnings. As the tension escalates, Ashley discovers shocking truths about her husband, her sister, and the family she thought she knew. A single piece of mail blows the mystery wide open — and what it reveals will leave readers breathless.
Dark, intimate, and unnervingly plausible, My Sister’s Daughter is a domestic thriller that grips from start to finish.
Silent Echo
In Silent Echo, Charlotte Fleming’s grief over her son’s death turns to obsession when she spots his face in a stranger’s social media post. Could he still be alive? Her desperate search for answers leads her into a world of lies, manipulation, and danger — where the truth may be worse than the grief she’s been living with. Told through dual perspectives — Charlotte, the grieving mother, and Penelope, her son’s disturbed former teacher — this story unravels with chilling precision.
Two Novellas, One Pulse
Together, My Sister’s Daughter and Silent Echo showcase Liv Constantine at her most ruthless and riveting. Each story explores paranoia from different angles — one through the terror of family betrayal, the other through the consuming ache of maternal loss. Both feature strong, complex female leads — mothers and protectors pushed to their breaking points.
Constantine’s signature style — sharp prose, emotional intensity, and jaw-dropping twists — fuels both novellas. She doesn’t just write about fear; she makes you feel it.
For fans of mystery, psychological suspense, and domestic thrillers that leave your heart racing and your mind spinning, My Sister’s Daughter and Silent Echo is a knockout duo. Two stories. Two mothers. Two nightmares you won’t forget.
Verdict: ★★★★★ Unputdownable, chilling, and emotionally charged — Liv Constantine delivers a double dose of psychological suspense that grips from the first page to the last.

These books were good. The author does a great job at making you hate the characters, seriously hate them, from very early on, which is good. I hated Ashley 2 paragraphs in: self-centered, self-righteous, who wants things to be good because she wants to, and not taking into consideration anyone’s else point of view or feelings. She’s very judgmental in the wrong way, and rubbed me wrong throughout the story. I felt bad for the kids she was raising. The same with Charlotte, but a little less. She was dealing with grief, and I can’t imagine how she managed to stay alive for so long, but the fact that she lashed out at her daughter sat wrong with me, but she was leagues better than Ashley, that’s for sure. The plots tended to be predictable, no plot twists or unexpected turns, just things that you go “okay, whatever”, not changing the perspective that much, just adding information that doesn’t do much for the plot itself. They’re well written, just extremely predictable, and some occurrences feel too contrived to be helpful in blinding the reader to the truth, just adds to the frustration, and the desire to throttle the characters into looking at reality. And the men in both stories seem copies of each other in a way. It feels like they’re two stories with the exact same characters, just pun into a different plot line. But if you only read one, it’s good. I would recommend reading “Silent Echo” over “My sister’s daughter” because that dragged quite a bit. I want to read more by this author and see if the characters are different and the stories aren’t so predictable, because the books are well written, and some characters that are fleshed out are really well done, hateful, but well written.

I want to start of by saying that I had no idea what these two audiobooks were about. I just knew that these were two thrillers. I did go into these both blind. My sisters Daughter It was intense, and it definitely gave me those orphan movie vibes—you know, the kind where you’re on edge the whole time. I wasn’t expecting that ending at all. The narrator did an amazing job keeping me connected to the book. I couldn’t put it down! This audiobook is so unpredictable; I was really convinced someone else was behind all the shenanigans. I couldn’t figure out who was guilty, though. Silent Echo This audiobook really took me by surprise. Like the first book, It was so unpredictable and heartbreaking. I did connect with Charlotte.
I was so sorry for Charlotte, knowing what she did but not being believed. The other woman was incredibly frustrating. How could you do that and think it’s okay? And that poor boy… yeah, this book really upset me, and I wanted to grab my purse and help too. I loved this book, though.
I’m planning to read more books by this author. Both of these books kept me on the edge of my seat while I listened. Thanks to the podium for giving me the chance to listen to these books.
Two novellas in 1. my Sister's Daughter starts off with a bang. Ashley gets a call that her estranged sister died, and her 13 year old daughter Serena needs an adult to take custody. Ashley is worried about bringing Serena into her family with her 12 year old daughter Luna and 4 year old son. Someone is sabotaging her children's safety and she thinks at first its either her daughter Luna or Serena. The ending had me shocked.
In Silent Echo, Charlotte regrets sending her 4 year old son to school with a tummy ache. The field trip ends up in tragedy with the bus hit by a drunk driver and everyone on board killed as they went over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. a year later. Charlotte is coming out of her deep grief to take a work assignment eith authors on social media. She sees a picture posted at a bookstore in Florida with a little boy who looks just like her dead son. Is Sebastian really alive? Charlotte gets the FBI involved when she starts digging. The end had me racing through the pages. both a solid 4/5☆
my only small issue is that both stories had an Elliot and Eli, and both women had 13 year old daughters and 4 year old sons. made me think it was all connected. TW for SA in 1 story. not graphic.
My Sisters Daughter: Ashley’s estranged sister suddenly passes and she becomes the guardian of her niece. As she welcomes the 13 year old into her home with her husband and two children, everyone is adjusting to the change. But as personalities clash and troubling incidents occur Ashley must determine if her own family is in jeopardy.
Silent Echo: Charlotte experiences the tragic loss of her son in a bus accident. While still grieving, she sees a post on social media that shocks her- it’s a picture of her son. Charlottes already strained relationship with her husband and daughter are further tested as she tries to convince the authorities her son is still alive!
Both have strong female characters, deception and family based mystery. These quick, easy to read novellas were perfect when you want to read in but you don’t have a lot of time. Secrets are revealed in these households as the pages are turned!
Thank you to the author, Liv Constantine, Podium Publishing and BookSprout for the opportunity to read this book. I received an epub and am leaving my review voluntarily.
A new title from Liv Constantine and it's a twofer.

These two novellas were quite the page turners. Here's what I liked:
🌟🌟🌟My Sister's Daughter ~ The Bower family with two children of their own (Luna and Maddox) takes in an orphaned relative (Serena). Both of the Serena's parents died within the past year. Now strange things are happening to make the Bower children unhappy with their new 'sister.'
🌟🌟🌟Silent Echo ~ Charlotte is reeling from the loss of her little boy. Just when she is starting to put her life back in order, she realizes that he may not be dead. She seems to see him around every corner, which might explain why her husband does not seem interested in pursuing her doubts. Will someone listen?
📚 I really enjoyed the novella length and am glad I took the opportunity to read these right before Pub Date.
I would have happily awarded this four stars EXCEPT for the many sentences that were imcomplete. The white space was clearly supposed to have words in it. This was a frequent occurrence and not just occasional. Really frustrating!
Thank you to Podium Publishing and Edelweiss+ for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.
These stories didn't exactly thrill me. They kept my interest, but I feel like they could have gone in different directions, and it would have been a lot more interesting. In "My Sister's Daughter," it would have been really interesting if Luna was the psychopath. I also felt like several things in that story weren't resolved, like Serena's sleepwalking and saying that everyone was going to die. We never learned any more about that or why she and Luna suddenly became friends so quickly.
In "Silent Echo," it felt like the perpetrator wasn't that shocking. Everything also seemed way too easy. If felt like there should have been more conflict and challenges along the way, but I do understand that these are novellas, and they can't delve too deep into the story because there isn't time. It would have been interesting if the husband had been involved in the child's disappearance. There's also always a cheating husband and that became unsurprising to me.

My Sister’s Daughter by Liv Constantine is a tense, fast paced psychological thriller that thrives on unease and emotional conflict. What begins as a story of grief and reluctant family reunification quickly spirals into something far darker. Ashley’s struggle to balance compassion for her orphaned niece with the safety of her own family feels painfully realistic.
Missing objects, strange behavior, and growing distrust keeps you constantly questioning motives and truth. Constantine expertly blurs the line between trauma driven behavior and genuine menace, ensuring that nothing is ever quite what it seems. The atmosphere is claustrophobic, the pacing sharp, and the twists arrive just when you think you’ve figured things out.
Compelling, unsettling, and full of surprises, My Sister’s Daughter is a thriller that explores grief, family loyalty, and the terrifying possibility that danger can come from within your own home. A must read for fans of a quick suspense thriller.
2 thrillers, 1 book. This book took me on 2 completely different stories! But both were so fun to listen too and definitely took me on a thrilling ride!
My Sister's Daughter: I really loved the plot and pacing in this one. The fast pacing and twist caught me off guard. The author hooked me immediately, and the suspense kept me guessing until the big reveal.
Silent Echo: The author maintained great pacing throughout. I never felt the story dragged, and the tension and suspense were well done. Although I figured out the big reveal, it was still a suspenseful read.
The narrator did an exceptional job in both books, bringing the main characters to life and making the story easy to follow.
These two novellas are perfect for readers seeking suspenseful thrillers that are easy to get caught up in and full of twists.
This is two short totally unrelated stories, both very good. The first was about Ashley, who takes in her 13 year old niece after Ashley’s sister tragically died. Ashley and her sister were estranged over 13 years. Things didn’t go smoothly with her niece and her daughter, also 13. Things got stolen, clothes were ripped up and the family dog was left out all night. Naturally Ashley thinks it’s all her nieces doing and she’s ready to call the social worker to tell her it’s not working out and then she finds out who’s really behind it all.
The second story was about charlottes son, Sebastian who was killed on a field trip in a bus accident or so she thought. His body was never found. She thinks she sees him on a social media post and won’t stop until she goings the boy to see if it’s her son.
Thank you to Edelweiss for this ARC. I am a fan of Liv Constantine and when I saw she was writing a couple of short stories, I knew I had to read them! The first story - Ashley's sister dies by accidental drowning and she is now raising her thirteen year old daughter. When questionable things start happening in their house, she immediately blames her niece but something just didn't add up. Second story - Charlotte loses her son in a bus wreck on a school field trip. One year later she sees her son in a FB post. Everyone thinks she is crazy but she knows it is him. Both good and fast reads! #MySistersDaughter #SilentEcho #LivConstantine #Nov2025
Short, fast reads with two separate mothers facing two very confronting situations - the first who has to uncover who is destroying them, and the other is recovering from losing her son.
I struggled to connect with Ashley, and I felt she was a bit TSTL. I definitely didn’t like her husband (and that contributed to my feelings about her, too).
Charlotte was also hard to connect to, but I think it my be the writing style. I liked the story, but the flow just felt a little strange to me. Plus, the plot twists…. I kind of picked them relatively early, so no major shocks….

Talk about twists! Both stories deliver several surprises—some early, some late. However, were they always foreshadowed? Not really. Sometimes they felt like they were just for shock’s sake. But they still landed.
I loved the way Silent Echo was set up in different points-of-view. It allowed for some interesting perspective shifts and unpacked some subtle nuances of the story. There were some moments of heavy exposition that took me out of the stories several times. However overall these are both solid, satisfying stories for fans of domestic thrillers.

When Ashley's estranged sister suddenly dies, she ends up taking in her 13 year old niece.
This one was twisty for sure. The narration is great with this one because you follow only Ashley but there is so much going on and so many people to not trust. Suzanne Elise Freeman really helps with the unsettling feeling. I honestly wasn't sure where some of this was going to go while listening.
Silent Echo: 3 Stars
Charlotte experiences the worst possible things imaginable, the loss of a child. Now, a year later, she starts to think that something different may have happened.
I enjoyed this one but felt like some of it was a little out there. I felt so bad for Charlotte for a most of this as well but then got a little frustrated with her. This was also very twisty.
Both of these were good listens! I loved that they were together in this audiobook
Thank you to Podium Entertainment for the gifted copy!
My Sisters Daughter had me on edge the whole time till the crazy plot twist. Ashley’s sister has just died and her niece, Serena, moves in with their family. Things go from bad to worse as bad things keep happening. Everyone thinks Serena is acting out, but is there more to what is going on?
Silent Echos had me in my feels watching Charlotte grieve her son, Sebastian’s, death. But things change when she sees a picture of Sebastian. She starts digging into the accident because now she believes he is still alive. Could he have been taken?
My Sister's Daughter - As I was reading a thought I had guessed what was going to happen a few times but I was wrong. A short story with some chilling consequences. Silent Echo - This book was very predictable and parts felt like they didn't add up. It's a story about a mother who just can't accept that her son died in a school bus accident and she thinks she keeps seeing him everywhere, until she thinks she really does see him in a photo. I liked My Sister's Daughter better of the two but they were both written in Live Constantine's unforgettable style.
I got an ARC of this . It’s really good! I had to make myself go to bed and wait for the next day to start the second story. Both stories were good short stories. I could’ve read the whole thing in one day, but I read one story per night. The plot twists were 😱. Silent echo had my jaw on the floor in the first few pages like omg what?!? this was not my favorite live Constantine book but for it to be short story, Novelas I liked it
I love this author's books as I have read almost all of her book. They always kept me drawn in and reading until the end. These two books weren't any different. I love that fact that these two book are combined into one book as it makes reading them so much easier. You can keep on reading to the next book without having to pick up another book.

If you like reading books that are suspenseful, then you will definitely want to read these ! My Sisters Daughter: A tragic story with constant twist, and intrigue that holds the reader completely captive to the end!
Silent Echo: Heartbreaking and devastating gripping story, that takes a turn that also holds the reader captive to the end.
Liv Constantine writes an excellent mystery/suspense.

Both of these novellas were SO good! Just the right amount of shock and drama. So much suspense packed into such little time it was impossible to put these down. Loved the plots and the characters. Many relatable themes in these domestic thrillers.

Thank you Podium for the alc for my review. I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrators did such a good job. I loved having two short novellas in one book. I flew through both of them in one sitting. They were both super enjoyable and kept my attention the entire time since things were moving so fast.
