As one of the Air Force’s elite TACP operators, Warren Bowman has experienced his share of battles, both on the ground and with a body broken from one too many jumps from an aircraft. Teaming up with his friends to start St. Michael’s Solutions gave him a new purpose in life, and now he’s working the job of his life—protecting romantic fantasy author Harper Sloane from an obsessed stalker. Harper is determined to meet her fans and hires SMS to ensure her Las Vegas signing goes off without a hitch. When the stalker changes tactics, Warren must put himself in the line of fire once again, this time to protect a woman who’s become every fantasy he never knew he had.
TL Schaefer writes romantic suspense and romantic mysteries, and chances are there may be some some stuff that goes bump in the night.

Great addition to tue series! I loved this and recommend that if you enjoyed the first in the series, you'll love this. It's an amazing continuation of the first book but with new main characters. Tate was part of the team and now we get to dive into his not so relaxing life. Past traumas are mentioned, but you also get a look at current affairs as well. We all love a steam scene, mutual pining, and a budding yet blooming romance. Between the mystery of the miracle-like healing, the crazed stalker and the shookingly uncovered secrets… you will enjoy this book! It will leave you guessing as to what comes next, or gasping as new information is revealed.

A stalker upends Harper’s life, bringing Warren into the picture. Their slow-burn attraction builds beautifully, layered with banter & laughter that keep things light even in the shadows of danger. Add in the mysterious effects carried over from book one that Warren now faces, & you’re left with plenty of intrigue to unravel. When passion finally ignites, it does so explosively, balanced with moments of humor that keep the story grounded & real. With action, romance, mystery & a team still working through its own kinks, this book keeps your attention locked.
This is the second book in the St. Martins Solutions series, and it's as compelling as Clay and Ivy's. Harper is a successful author with a stalker who is torturing her with messages and gifts. Yet none threaten any harm, so local police won't take it seriously. Now, with a book signing planned in Vagas, she hired SMS to supply a bodyguard. Warren prefers to be in the background but chosen as lead on the case he knows he can't let the team down. Both characters are hiding behind carefully constructed images they show the world, hiding their secrets and true self's deep within. Is this a case of a simple stalker. Or is there more to it behind the scenes. Can they break through their carefully built walls to help each other. Or is the chemistry between them just a result of the close proximity. This story twists and turns with just the right amount of suspense, sass, and spice to keep you reading. Plus, with the hidden secrets that the team is slowly uncovering. Who can they trust. I can't wait to read Tate's story
This story is packed with action and heart! Harper, a successful romance writer with a quiet inner strength, finds herself in danger when a stalker targets her. Enter Warren — a former military officer, hardened by past struggles, who’s been hired to protect her.
The chemistry between them is instant and undeniable, even if neither expected it. As the danger escalates and the stalker gets closer, Harper and Warren realize they’re stronger together — both emotionally and physically.
An engaging blend of suspense, romance, and character depth. I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment in the series!

I liked book 2 as much as I liked book 1, and I also had the same reservations. Our heroes are great—and Harper is unexpectedly kickass—but the road from meeting to undying love is a bit quick. The perpetrator isn't all that tough to figure out (though the author introduces one or two good red herrings, thankfully), and the suspense part ends a little too neatly.
But let me back up a smidge. Book 2, like book 1, is standalone with regard to Harper and Warren's romance and the suspense, but there is an overarching series storyline as well. In fact, after a couple of pages into this book, I stopped and went back and reread book 1 just to remind myself where we left off. The series storyline comes up somewhat out of the blue at the end of book 1 and is a little less surprising here in book 2 since we've already learned about it, but but it doesn't get a whole lot of love or attention here either. Like I felt with book 1, I felt that the series storyline should have been interspersed a little more heavily in book 2. That said, we are getting there, and I will definitely read book 3 of the series.
Other vaguely oblique notes (sorry, I'm trying to avoid spoilers): I love Warren's hobby and wish we'd seen a little more of it; at minimum, I wanted Harper to notice and show appreciation for it, especially since she's also creative. I also would have liked Harper to meet Warren's family, since he clearly holds them in high regard. But otherwise, they're charming characters that you can't help but root for.

I’ll admit it—Warren stole my heart the second I opened this book. He’s the kind of hero I never get tired of: strong, scarred, and so protective it makes you want to melt. As an elite TACP operator turned private protector, he’s lived through more battles than most could handle, and yet when it comes to Harper, he’s willing to face down every danger again. And Harper? I loved her. A romantic fantasy author who just wants to do her job and meet her fans, even while a stalker lurks in the shadows—that balance of determination and vulnerability made her easy to connect with. The sparks between her and Warren are impossible to ignore. The chemistry isn’t just sizzling—it’s the kind of slow build that makes the payoff even better. The suspense kept me turning pages late into the night. Every time I thought I had the stalker figured out, TL Schaefer threw another twist that had me second-guessing everything. Add in the protective, almost possessive way Warren looks at Harper, and my heart was racing for more than one reason. If you like your romance with high stakes, an alpha protector who will literally walk through fire for his woman, and a heroine who’s more than capable of standing her ground, Warren delivers it all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A perfect mix of action, suspense, and a swoon-worthy protector romance.
The first 50-60% of this book was great. A romance author dealing with a stalker and being protected by a gorgeous bodyguard. Nice. But then it took a turn and I honestly felt like I was reading a different book. Gone was the author/protector story and in its place was a sci-fi conspiracy plot that I felt like I was being dropped in the middle of without knowing all the details. There had been a brief mention at the beginning of the book about Warren cutting his hand severely and the wound healing almost immediately. But nothing more. It felt like the author just forgot about it. And then the author/protector story ended and the last quarter of the book dealt with the sci-fi aspect. (And there was no mention of this being at all sci-fi in the blurb, I might add.) There were also a few inconsistencies I caught that bothered me. So while the writing was fine and I DID enjoy the first part of the book, I was baffled by the change up. I would have liked a straight romantic suspense or a sci-fi romantic suspense, but the way it was presented just felt clunky. I’m not sure I’d recommend the book for that reason.

(4.25) Yes I round up. Harper who is trying to evade a stalker was top notch. Her willingness to self evaluate, her thoughts on her self and her situation and then her romance with Warren. Love the little surprises she lets loose with! Warren was not only ex Air Force but had really grown (which he admits) and wasn't and Alpha know it all. I did know the perp the first time they appeared on the page, I think most people did. There is steam (but I skip those so you are on your own with those pages). I thought the information shared at the end was like wait, what... and I want to know who alpha 6 is. Each book can be read as a stand alone as they all revolve around two characters, but I highly recommend reading in order for the scifi? paranormal? aspect as well as St. Michaels Solution team bonding and growing. Thank you for the advanced copy. I freely volunteer my honest thoughts and opinions. #Warren #St.MichaelsSolutions #T.L.Schaefer #Booksirens
Book two in this series is full of good characters, teamwork, connections, chemistry, suspense, danger, careers, passions and still trying to piece together why things in book one happened. I liked seeing the sparks between Harper and Warren, the trust they had in each other and the way they understood and accepted one another, together they made a really good team of two.
I liked the different layers to Harper and thought was was a strong character, I also liked how she encouraged Warren to share with his team and didn't judge him. I got some things right in this and some things not quite right, which made for good reading for me. I am so ready to read more from this series, I have questions I want answered and theories I want to know if I am right about.

Excellent: This was an awesome book and I enjoyed every moment of it. It followed on closely after the previous book in the series and although I'd read that, I still had some difficulty recalling everything that had previously transpired. However I quickly got into this story and found both the plot and pacing to be excellent. I particularly enjoyed the danger and intrigue aspects, and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat. I am now really intrigued as to what is going to happen next with the overarching mystery! I thought that the relationship between Harper and Warren seemed exciting yet realistic. They made a wonderful couple and I liked that they both had issues to overcome. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Harper is a successful writer who has a dangerous stalker and needs help. So she hires the SMS. Warren is given the task he is recovering from a injury and it was supposed to be easy job.
Brilliant characters, Harper has inner strength that she doesn’t even know she has. Warren has been in many battles and his biggest battle is Harper and her stalker.
Both characters Harper and Warren have secrets and only want to show those looking a covers the truth. It was wondering seeing each of them beak down the others walls. Oh the chemistry , the twists and turns with just the right amount of suspense , mystery and spice.

Having thoroughly enjoyed "Clay" (first book in this series), I wasn't sure if Terri Schaefer would be able to match up to it with the critical second book.
No doubts remain as she has hit every target with this one: exciting action, gripping suspense, delightful humour, enthralling plot lines, & stirring intimacy.
Warren & Harper are superb main characters - some of the descriptions of the latter are brilliant ("getting by with the eating habits of a semi-feral raccoon") - while the supporting cast round off everything just right.
Great book!
(I was fortunate to receive an ARC however the above is, as ever, my own opinion.)
Well another new author that I'm going to enjoy. Warren was an amazing book. Fast paced and loaded with action and danger. Absolute thrill ride of a book.
This was about Harper an author who had a stalker and needed protection during a book signing and SMS operator Warren was hired.
Warren and Harper hit it off from the very start. She knew she needed help but was in denial. But that connection they had, phew! Hot!
So well done. A great book and can't wait for more in the series. I really enjoyed it.
Harper needs a bodyguard and Warren gets the job. He was injured lifting weights and needs to take it easy but is hard headed. Her stalker is getting more intense and escalating. She's git more grit and determination than she realizes. These men don't give up especially when it comes to protecting what the know as being theirs. This was a flop for me. I don't do Sci Fi. Just not my thing. And most definitely didn't see it coming in this book. That really just ruined it for me. Everything else was great up until that. This isn't a book I would be interested in at all.
