What does a girl do when the it turns out the monster who killed her family ISN'T the worst thing out there?
Tara has finally cornered the vampire-bastard who killed her family, only to face a cold hard truth. This monster isn't the only thing that goes bump in the night. There is something far worse out there.
Choose the lesser monster.
There is a great evil - one of the original evils, actually - and it also has Tara's vampire in it's sinful sites. Normally Tara would tell this new evil to get in line ... the vampire is her's to kill. But even she cannot deny that if this new evil gets its way, things would get a lot worse for the world. As in apocalyptically so...
To destroy it, Tara must fight by the vampire's side.
But joining forces with her greatest enemy may prove to be too much to bear, especially when he revenge she craves so deeply is almost within her grasp.
If Mercy Thompson or Buffy ever managed to get a dragon, they'd be working with Tara Drake.
This edition includes a bonus story featuring the GoneGod World's latest 'demon hero'. Be sure to check out INFERNAL HEIST, featured exclusively in this book!
This is the last book in this ‘phase’ of the authors GoneGodWorld and it delivers. The main story arc is wrapped up nicely, we get closure on some items (like Percy’s name origin) and we also get an interesting glimpse into where the authors are taking us in the next ‘phase’. The characters and their development are what draws me to this series (well, along with the great story’s). They are fresh, interesting and make you want to keep reading. Having started in this ‘world’ with this series, I’ve now moved on the Mortality Bites series for reasons that will become clear at the end of this book. If you are looking for fresh, original books, give this series a try. I have this book 5 stars.
I don't want it to be over... but wait! It isn't completely over. A new story is coming with different characters and it seems interesting. I loved my time with the dragon though.
I am totally clueless how you all think of this stuff but thanks for writing it down in a very entertaining way. Now get cracking on the next work of wonder.
Tara is a street performer. But she isn't your normal street performer. She has a dragon. She also has a mission. She is hunting the former vampires that slaughtered her family. That is right , they are former vampires. Tara lives in the GoneGod world where all of the major powers that be left. When they did, the lesser powers were stranded on Earth. Creatures like vampires and werewolves have been turned back into "normal" humans.
Tara has managed to track down the vampire that killed her family. But before she can face him, she is captured by the ghoul known as the Soul Hunter. But now Tara has to team up with these two enemies as they are all threatened by an even greater evil.
This is a new series by Ramy Vance and S.W. Clarke. It is set in the same world as Ramy Vance's other series but you do not have to have read those other series to enjoy this one. There will probably be crossovers with characters at some point though.
I really like the characters in this story. Great bits of mythology added into it (and ones that aren't usually featured which is a nice change). There is plenty of action. The only drawbacks are that it has a cliffhanger and reads very quickly so you will be left having to wait for the next one.
Tara finally caught up with her vamp and then things went sideways, all her planning and stalking to find him didn't end in the epic vampire slaying she hoped for. Instead she has to depend on his power to help her fight against a greater evil. This story has a lot of character development and back story I didn't know I wanted until I got it. Like some others, I wish there were more Percy in this book but I know this isn't the end of the series and he will be back in the action soon. With all that said, I still loved this book. The writing is awesome and it's a great read.
Here I am, finishing up book three and thinking it was wrapping up, only to fond the fourth book comes out in April! I am so pleased with this series that I will try my GoneGodsDamnedest to be patient. But you won't hear a lick of complaining from me if you vet it out faster. Great story, wonderful character interaction, and gripping plot twists.
