As the images ran wild through his mind, his pen scratched away on the paper. Then one day, after many years and much toil, he had done it. He had created wondrous books to ignite kid’s imagination and to help them to think and grow and dream.
And just in case you wondered, the wizard still journeys through story world and scribbles by candlelight to this day.’

Entities Part 2: Entities Divided, a YA Sci-Fi Fantasy by Barry S. Brunswick isn’t aimed at my age group, yet as with book one in this series, it completely captivated me. This time the story follows Penny and Alex. Penny is struggling to find happiness, while Alex, dealing with his own issues, not least of which is a powerful force within him that begins to take control, feels a mysterious connection to her. Both are drawn into a war, in order to halt a galactic conflict, with the Reptilians, a race determined to take Earth.
I genuinely couldn’t put this book down. Second books in a series often fall short for me, but this one was, if anything, even stronger than the first – and that’s saying something. It’s packed with suspense, drama, humour, and heartache, all woven into a brilliant and imaginative story. Barry Brunswick’s take on aliens and Reptilians is clever and refreshingly original, and his characters are both extraordinary and deeply relatable. The courage of the humans, already burdened by hardship yet still determined to do what’s right, is inspiring. Their loyalty, wit, and resilience make them impossible not to love. The friendships – both old and new – bring moments of laughter even as the tension builds, leading to a finale that’s as moving as it is thrilling. Barry Brunswick’s imagination and writing are once again exceptional. I can’t recommend this book, or this series, highly enough – it’s an absolute gem for both younger and older readers alike.

I don’t want to give anything away about Entities Connected, but I can say that Entities Divided is everything you want in a sequel. This book continues the heartfelt story of its predecessor, while providing more answers to what’s really going on in this universe in a fast-paced, action-packed story.
Brunswick’s writing style keeps the story moving along and will have you glued to every page. Marketed as young adult, these books are perfect for readers of any age who want to channel the big kid within. And while you’re at it, you just might find some food for thought about humanity and the world in which we live.
