Prairie Grooms is a series, so you'll want to read the books in order to have the most fun! Enjoy these sweet, inspirational romances about life and love in the old west!
What happens when three English ladies are shipped off halfway across the world as mail order brides? EVERYTHING! Three sisters, Penelope, Constance and Eloise go from a posh lifestyle outside of London to Clear Creek, a nothing of a town full of quirky characters, crazy live-stock, and bumbling villains! Penelope is the first to wed, (August, Prairie Grooms, Book One) and learns her prim and proper ways don’t have the impact she expects on the locals. Now it’s her sister’s turn ...
Constance had an adventurous spirit, but was it adventurous enough to make a life with Ryder Jones? His country speech bordered on barbaric (at least in her eyes) and his isolated way of life out on the Prairie scared her to death! Would she ever see her sisters again? How could she possibly adapt to living with such a man?
Ryder had seen his share in his 26 short years. Orphaned at nine, raised by Indians, he held to their way of life for as long as he could. But circumstances forced him and his brother to return to the ways of the white man and seek out a new life, one that included a wife for each of them. But neither was prepared for the kind of woman they got when they decided to send away for mail order brides!
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
This second story in the trilogy is the story of Constance and Ryder. While it's very different from August and Penelope 's story. The author has messed up with a few irregularities. First, while Penelope was told about Marital Activities by Sadie and Belle, very clearly stating her mother did not tell her. Constance says her mother did tell all three sisters.. Additionally, the first book started in 1871 in Nowhere and was told as a flashback and also ended as a flashback, this book also starts as a flashback but did not finish as a flashback. Carelessness on the author and editor, I am very happy to be reading it as a Kindle Unlimited
A great second book to this series! Constance and Ryder were in a hurry to get married and did so just 3 days after August and Penelope from book 1. What they didn’t realize was that they were extremely ill-prepared for married life. Ryder had yet to make his shack a home and it wasn’t fit for newlyweds. He also lived two and a half hours away from town. Constance may have been a socialite in England, but here in Clear Creek she’s ready to pull up her pants and get to work. There’s much for them both to learn. Along the way they fall in love. It’s sweet and a beautiful story with a little bit of excitement at the end.
Talk about being unprepared! Ryder likes to live in the moment, flying by the seat of his pants. A new English bride doesn't fit into that lifestyle. Someone's going to have to change. Constance was the most adventurous of her 3 sisters, and rushed into a marriage that neither was prepared for. But Ryder was a good teacher, and she was a willing pupil. They can get on with their lives as soon as they can ditch their unexpected house guest, Cutty!
Another good one in the series. Quite an adventure for Ryder and Constance. Learning each other and living out in the prairie. Read and find out their story. I was a little disappointed at how it abruptly ended. Good to know each book blends into the next. Reading each one in order makes the next one make sense. Thank you Kit!
Constance & Ryder marry and start their life together. They find they might better have waited a bit to get their living situation a little better. Constance and her two sisters had come from England to the American West as mail-order brides.
Talk about an abrupt ending! A snakebit Ryder is almost dead when he and Constance get to town. This is a cliffhanger ending. I better get to the next book and see what happened.
This incredible book has two stories in one and I'm not sure which one is more engaging. Ryder and Constance's love story is sweet, charming, and fun while the mystery of Curry is intriguing and I can't wait to see how both stories continue.
It seems like every series by this author has one I really enjoy, and so far this one is it! Maybe because of the horses, or because I know she's going to end up being a hunter!
Warning if you read and like the first book of the series, you might as well download them all. I have opted to use one review for the first three books in the series. Book two is the story of two complete opposites who come to love each other. The prairies groom series has a storyteller who shares the stories of pseudo-mail order brides who come to western United States from England in search of husbands. Each book describes a different bride and relationships with the first three focused on three beautiful sisters who were not marriageable in their homeland because every suitor met with an unfortunate accident. The stories are tied together by a sub-plot that is connected to an inheritance in England and a slighted potential heir. The fun of the stories is that each sister lived a privileged life before their journey to America and is completely incompetent when is comes to farming, ranching or prairie life. Books 1-3 tell the story of each sister and the discovery of love with her bridegroom. I enjoyed the writing and the stories even if though the premise is a little kooky. Romantic with mild references to adult relationships.
Another cute book in the Clear Creek series!!! Ryder was raised by Indians and living in a leaky hovel is nothing to him but not for his bride Constance who was raised as an English Lady. Constance wanted adventure and she's getting it!!
Ryder and Constance decide they can't wait to marry each other. Come to find out Ryder's house isn't finished. It doesn't even have Windows, and leaks like a sieve. It doesn't matter much, Ryder and Constance find love anyway.
This is the story of Constance. One of three sisters from England to find their groom's. They were very pampered women in England. Now they need to learn to do everything a women did back in those days. Plus learning about love.
So Kit Morgan is the author that I stumbled across last year that introduced me to the whole mail order bride/western historical romance/kindle book thing. I have loved everything that I've read by her and this is no different. You really can't go wrong reading any book by Kit Morgan.
I really wanted to like Constance more, but this one just felt so forced! The previous book was so charming, I was looking forward to it continuing in this one with the sister.
Constance and Ryder are terrific characters, they are fun and full of life. I throughly enjoyed this historical romance and cannot wait to read more of the series.
No avenging roosters in this story, just one magnificent horse, and people. The story ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger but the next book should put the story to rights. Don't be afraid to laugh a lot.
