hmmm

Started out intriguing but ended abruptly and the last couple chapters were blank… seems incomplete. Don’t recommend reading this one.

It was an okay read, I have read dark stalker romances before, and this was tame in comparison. He's more 'I must take her and make her mine, my muse, my toy, mine! Mia is more timid, scared, hidden backbone when the need arises but she's just a submissive to life.

Took me a while to understand what the heck is happening with Mia Cohen and Henrik Lindberg. He's 20-ish years older than Mia, wealthy, Swedish, once married (his wife Anastashia was killed in a car accident, Mia's 'secret') artist of the darkest kind, stalker, arsonist and has an obsession with fire and wants Mia's darkness for himself. Mia was orphaned at 15 when she lost her parents to a house fire in America, raised in foster care while having PTSD that lasts to currently, somehow has several college degrees at a young age, now in London studying on a scholarship at an art school plus a house cleaner for Mr. Lindberg, soon to be taking on a more challenging job as his muse. She's dealing with a stalker that will change her more than Henrik until she learns who her stalker really and what she can open her up to.

This is a departure from Ms. Knox’s normal books and it’s good, but took awhile to get into it. The characters are both connected thur trauma and only one realizes it, because she caused it. They are drawn to each other for the darkness they can sense in the other. It makes for a dark, and exotic relationship.
They are so into each other that they start to heal the tears in their souls to make them whole again, this also brings in a deep love and passiveness between them that is a little scary, but it works.

That is definitely one way of putting it.😅 This was hands down a complete unhinged, dysfunctional, cluster f**k of a story. Excuse my word usage.😂😂 Is it dark? You better believe it is. Toxic. Yess. Stalking. Hands down. Obsessive. You have no idea. Danger up ahead.🚧🚧 High Voltage.⚡🚨⚡Do not pass go, do not collect $200 dollars.😬😬

These two completely damaged and broken people latch onto each other out of desperation, need, and having complete submission and annihilation as a foundation for their connection. Well, for young budding artist Mia Cohen it was. His Natblomma.🌺 She's damaged by a past that involved a house fire and the loss of her parents at 15yrs old. Now she's in her 20s, living in London, has scars that are a reminder of her tragedy, as well as another burning insidious secret. I don't want to reveal that here. I'm letting you, dear reader, find that out when you read it.😉 And b/c of that secret, she becomes a house maid for an older (close to a 20yr age gap), wealthy, artist of a man who has his devilish eyes locked on the red-headed young woman. He has a certain appetite with his requests. Mia, how do I put this, she's a submissive through and through, she never once pushed back or demanded any space for herself. And dang it, I wanted that.🤣🤣 I wanted her to get a clue, think for herself, and push on satan's buttons. Why not? Light it it up, Mia. You did it in your art so why not push the boundaries like everything else that is happening to you?!🧨🎆🧨 But she didn't. Why? B/c she wanted it and him as it was. Cuckoo bananas!!😵‍💫😵 I know. She was a pawn in the devil's playground. Or was she? The toy. His toy, to do with as he pleased.🪀🪆🎨🪀 And it got dirty. Nasty. Cruel. It got unbelievable. She was sweet. She needed a friend. But danggg it, girll. That's not the way!!🫨

Let's take a minute for Henrik.😬👿☠️ This was more of his story, I think. He's so messed up psychologically, I mean, we were in the bare bones of his lust, his drives, his pursuit of Mia, and how impulsive he was to watch, devour, have, and poison Mia into his clutches. She wasn't going to get away. She would never think of running. Not from him. It was a done deal. She just didn't know it yet. He has secrets. Blackened ones.🥷🏻 The mask reveal. Come on. Her reaction.🤷🏻 Really?? Mia had no choice. I wonder what would have happened with the word NO?!! Was she a victim? Maybe. Henrik detests his own mother. He was a widower. But now with Mia, he's going to love breaking her. Owning her. He's so happy with glee.🤡 I'm not kidding. He was to the extreme. He's an arsonist.💥🔥💥🔥💥 A tracker to punish anyone who dares get out of line or go near his toy. Executioner.

Look, bottom line, this was a twisted story. It might not be your cup of tea. Chapter 12 alone. Sheesh. The OTT epilogue. It seemed more for shock value than anything else. I didn't think possessive Henrik would allow anyone else to touch Mia. But maybe in his warped mind, it would be okay b/c he allowed it. He was in control. He was a TOTAL control freak!!😖 The start of this story reminded me of a gothic but contemporary take of Jack the Ripper with Mary Kelly. It's gruesome. We all know what happened to that young woman. And despite that, it was interesting. But somehow the story morphed into another form of itself. The world building was here. But this wasn't romantic. If you want that, you will not find it here. It's not love either. For me it wasn't. This was ownership. You do what I say when I say it.🪢🪞🪢You want it just like I do. This isn't Beauty and the Beast. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Well. Dr Jekyll was a lot nicer than Henrik was.😨 I think Henrik was a serial killer. But nothing became of it. The story flowed, but at times, being in his fire induced brain, was too much. There's punishing encounters.👹😮‍💨 I don't know if there's a HEA. HFN, maybe. It's open for interpretation. If you like a shorter story of uncontrollable spinning, this might be for you. I don't know how to rate this tbh. I expected some caring times. Alas, no. Happy reading.💢💢💢💢

I will go ahead and say that while this book could be considered dark, it is not going to be super dark. If you have read this author's books before, this one is going to be a little different from what we usually read too. But, that is not a bad thing. This is the story of Mia and Henrick. They both come from pasts that have damaged them. He wanted her from the first moment he saw her too. She is a budding artist that is now in her twenties living in London. She also carries the scars to remind her of her past, but too is carrying around a secret that your going to have to find out for yourself. When she becomes a house mad for an older man, Henrick. He is an artist that is really wealthy and has an appetite for things that she hasn't experienced. To say that she is a true submissive is a true statement. However, and this is where I struggled. I wants to badly for her to push back. To push this dark mans buttons and have a little more fun than she was already having. A little push back might have added to the already spicy spice. But I felt like she needed to stick up for herself too. She has wants and needs too. This book is a good read. You have some things to uncover in this book. I thought it started a little slow but it quickly sped up and I didn't lay it down.

This is a dark stalker romance. Check the warnings associated with the book. Mia Cohen is an aspiring artist, attending college. Mia has no other family and for all purposes is alone. Mia takes a job cleaning the mansion like home of Henrik Lindberg. Henrik is around 20 years older than Mia. Henrik himself is a artist. Mia doesn't know what Henrik's plans are.
Mia and Henrik are both keeping secrets. Mia also has a mysterious stalker along with being Henrik's muse.

My only issue is Henrik wanted to own and posess Mia, literally. Henrik said "mine" about a hundred times in this book. When Henrik takes Mia to a sex club and Mia has sex with other men and women? Henrik's character seems like someone who would be very opposed to sharing, especially during sexual encounters. Chapter 12 while spicy, was hard for me to believe. Henrik didn't want anyone to even touch Mia outside of that one chapter.

I was left with a few questions still at the end of the book. I would have liked a longer ending. As Much as Mia was naive, Henrik was over the top and wanted to own Mia. I just found some things unbelievable.

Unconventional....

Stalker's Toy was a surprise....
I thought I would be reading a standalone but turned out there's so very much to uncover.
This is a story of extremes that meet, somewhat, in the middle with two completly different protagonists and one (or more) thing in common, art.
Henrik is an artist, troubled soul, arsonist, obsessive, with past demons and over the top streak for mind games and manipulation.
Mia is a survivor with a trauma of her own and a secret she keeps carefully guarded, an art student working as a cleaner in Henrik's mansion to aid in her scholarship.

I wasn't expecting any different from this author's duo and the darkness is present in every aspect of the tale, from Henrik's obsessed personna to their interactions and, particularly, Mia's curiosity and trust in someone so unhinged and restless, an obsession of her own with a mysterious man wanting her as his muse. Somehow, it must be that tiny particle of gloom inside Mia recognizing a bigger one, unable to wait to get with its peer.
Very spicy and, I might say, even d€prav€ed to those not into a certain lifestyle, but certainly impacting and eroticaly and exceptionally interesting.

Now, I know there's more to come and I am anxiously awaiting the next installment!

It is a dark story, the author succeeds very well in creating a dark mysterious atmosphere by using short sentences, many descriptions of thoughts. She also succeeds quite well in portraying the characters of the main characters. They are both interesting main characters with secrets, trauma’s and dark desires. What I didnt like is that the dark and mysterieus atmosphere in my opinion leads nowhere. The secrets and traumas are built up, nothing happens with them and I am left with a lot of questions. But that was because when I read the book I thought it would be a standalone story. Now I understand that there will be a part two, no doubt everything will become clear in part 2. I myself rather read standalone stories because I am too impatient to wait for a new book to appear.
The short sentences that are used a lot also started to annoy me at a certain point, it doesnt always contributes to the story and it becomes repetitive. I also thought the pace was a bit slow, however, now that I know that there will be a second part, I understand the structure of the story better. There are some spicy scenes, that go far, but the reader of this genre will now that.

This book annoyed me in so many ways from the very beginning. It's only getting 2⭐️ it should probably only get 1 and I probably should have just put it down when I was first annoyed by the writing style. (I just feel bad for leaving 1⭐️)

She gets a job for him. He becomes obsessed because she's tragic and scarred and blah blah. He starts stalking her. She likes the idea of being railed by two guys (her boss and stalker dude). She finds out they're the same guy. It comes out that she caused a terrible fatal car crash and the fatality was HIS first wife... that's what caused her to apply for his job opening in the first place, she "wanted to make sure he was okay". She debates on telling him about it throughout the book. The author almost makes it seem as though he already knows,so you're just waiting for ONE of them to say SOMETHING. Then the book ends. There was more nonsense too, but yeah. I was more annoyed while reading this than I was anything else.

Lame.

And the writing format seriously WAS the worst.
A separate line for every fucking sentence.

I love Elizabeth Knox MC series. This book is nothing like them.
The MMC character is the FMC stalker. He is rich, artistic and depraved in some terms. The FMC is scarred physically and mentally from surving a house fire some years ago. She is in Art School on a scholarship. Meeting Hendrik provides Mia with a need she hadn't felt. I felt their sexual relationship was controlled by him and he took every advantage of it, which in my opinion, makes him perverted at times. She acquiesced too easily and where she had some resistance, it was half hearted.
I have mixed feelings about this storytelling. It is darker and sinister than others that I have read by this author. I didn't particularly like either character. This is my opinion and others may disagree ...is definitely good reading if you like the genre.

A dark but great story

This was a quite dark story. Well written, with an interesting and a bit daring plot. A starker and a pray who he considers his Toy. Henrik is a billionaire and has a dark side. Mia is a survivor. She lost her parents in a fire at fifteen but managed to keep her head above the water and now is an art student. She cleans his mansion. He is obsessed with her. With her scars – real and figurative. So he offers her an agreement – and she accepts. He is deprived and obsessed, but she thrives in it. And not only that, but she has a secret of her own, a secret from the past that entangles them together. I couldn’t put my kindle down to find out how everything will turn out. The heat is not for the faint of heart in this one – and it’s not conventional. 4 stars

He is embittered with life in general since his wife was killed in a car accident. She has a a job cleaning his mansion, little does she know he is obsessed with her, she is also, worryingly dealing with someone following her, stalking he late at night. Henrik has a proposal for Mia which will pay more money than cleaning the house, to be his muse, pose for him, the chemistry between the two of them is absolutely combustible! Mia has a secret that she doesn’t want Henrik to know and he has a secret that he wants Mia to know but not just yet!

Mia lives with scars that she got in a house fire that killed her parents.She's never had anyone since her parents love her or look out for her .As he learns so much about her he sees matching darkness in her and her art.She has amazing charcoal drawings.When he gets her hired as his house cleaner when he finally talks to her he realizes he wants her he offers her a job at his gallery making enough money that she doesn't need to work for someone else. When she arrives for her first nights work he tells her that she hi s his muse.He tells her to strip and losses her in a erotic pose.There are so many twists and turns to this story you will be riveted til the very last page.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented aurhor.

This book was wild—in the best way. It’s not your typical romance. For most of it, there’s no softness at all—it’s about Henrik’s obsessive, depraved love for Mia and how perfectly her hidden desires matched his.

The tension from Mia killing Henrik’s ex-wife in an accident three years prior to the relationship was through the roof—wondering if he knew, if he’d hurt her, or take revenge made the story so addictive.

Spice was definitely 4.5–5/5 🌶️. There’s primal BDSM, D/s dynamics, and CNC-style encounters with an edge of unpredictability. But it never crossed into non-consensual territory—Mia wanted everything Henrik gave her.

What I loved most was the duality of Henrik: obsessive, insane, and yet utterly worshipful toward Mia. He saw her as powerful and worthy, and that balance of darkness and devotion made the book unforgettable.

To say that Stalker's Toy is a dark romance is an understatement. Every aspect of this story is dark, including the two main characters, Mia and Henrik. There is a lot of trust between them that makes their relationship work in all of their darkness. Without giving much away, this book is full of what some would call depravity, but for folks who live a certain lifestyle, it is just erotica at its peak. The storyline and the characters are quite interesting. Though I am not into any of what these characters are, I found the book to be fascinating in a seeing how the other side lives kind of way. Do you boo!.

This is a different read, at least for me. Parts have triggers, so if you have any issues with dark romance you’ll want to check those out carefully. The story stars Henry amd Mia. Henry has very dark issues and Mia works for him. He is completely obsessed with her. When he sees she’s attracted to him but doesn’t know about his darkness, he sees it as a way in. Little does he know, she has darkness too. The book had some funny moments, but the issues for me were the gaps throughout. I’m not sure how it happened but too often the story moved forward without warning leaving you confused and a bit frustrated.

An outstanding novella with drama, intrigue, suspense, some action as well as romance which has a happy ending. This novella has great characters, easy to read and is a page turner which is a thrilling read.
A novella about a couple who are both bound to the darkness that is their lives. From the start she becomes his muse. The couple is attracted to one another and becomes intimate.
The couple has secrets that they think that the other wouldn’t understand,so they keep them quiet. He’s intrigued by her and can’t get enough of her, she is his.
He is her master and she is his submissive, they enjoy BDSM and at the end they push their desire even further.

Henrik your so twisted and I think I like it!

You land right into to it, from chapter 1.
Be warned the story is very paced. Started off good but towards to get to me got very meh. Could have gone deeper in so many ways. Seems maybe a tad rushed at certain parts. To be honest, I really wanted the big reveal to what essentially tied Mia to Henrik to begin with but it didn’t happen.
Despite that, the dark bits was 🔥. The steamy bits was 🥵🥵🥵🥵.
Would love a part 2 maybe.
Overall I could see where the book should have been but it didn’t deliver in my opinion.
Little bit more depth and I’d gladly give it a 5 star.
