A crazy catering job, some mistletoe, and a murder.
Ivy is thrilled to land a job catering a lavish three-day party at the mansion of millionairess Silvia Clements. Tensions rise when it becomes clear no one at the party has any love for Silvia—or the way she inherited most of her father’s money.
When Silvia turns up dead, Ivy and Jett must uncover the killer before the snowbound mansion becomes a full-blown crime scene. Trapped with a murderer, Ivy is determined to solve the mystery—and sort out her complicated feelings for Jett. Can she catch the culprit before becoming the next victim?
Reading this, I struggled to recall what I’d found charming about the first three books. This installment felt slapdash and any satisfaction I might have gotten from resolution of previous storylines was overshadowed by the absurdity of the plot.
This is book 4 of the Ivy Clark Mystery series. This series is about Ivy and her merry band of friends solving murders in their small town in Kansas. The supporting characters are funny and just add a great deal of joy to Ivy’s life and to the stories themselves.
If you’re looking for a super cute cozy mystery series, then I highly recommend this one. Each book also has alter recipe of its namesake at the very end.
I am so happy about the Sheriff and Ivy! It’s about time something happened even though Ivy still has her questions.
This series is so much fun! It's definitely a cozy mystery, with a pinch of romance. The characters are delightful and we learn more about them as time goes on. All of the books are quick reads, which I really appreciate. I would definitely read the books in order, otherwise you might miss some of the charming information about each of the characters. There are a few characters who are not as charming, and I am really looking forward to seeing them get their comeuppance! The recipe in this book sounds yummy! Might have to add this to our holiday menus!
Same fun characters with a new setting. Ivy and her friends move into a creepy mansion for a catering job, leaving the diner behind for a few days. Plenty of twists and entertainment, but I'd like to see a bit more character growth. If anything, Ivy seems to be turning into a teenager full of hormones who has never had a relationship before. A teenager who moves her mouth from side to side every couple of pages. Still fun, but it could have used a sharper eye during editing.
A great who dunnit. I love the interaction between all the cast. They make me laugh with all their personalities. This mystery was a little different, sort of Agatha Christie ish. Don't want to give anything away but the cast of villains was superb. Thanks for an excellent read and a funtastic series.
I wish I'd read this in winter. This one had a fun, secluded mansion setting complete with secret passageways! There's a bit more progression in a certain relationship, which was a delight to finally get to.
This one read more like a thriller than a cozy mystery, and I loved the extra tension. I’ve enjoyed them all, but this one had me turning the pages faster than usual.
3 stars. These are short cozy mysteries that are simple and just fun to read. A palate cleanser if you will in between heavy fantasy books. Will continue reading the series
