The diary and also the letters to Fridtjof Nansen are interesting but hard to read as the text is in old Norwegian/Danish writing.
I would have liked more editing. The given footnotes are helpful but to few. A consistent translation of the Latin, English, German, and technical (nautical) expression with some explanations of the historical background would have been also very helpful.
I would suggest this book to people interested in the history of the Fram and the exploration of the polar regions, probably to nobody else.
