Honestly, I just didn’t like it. There was a lot of details lacking, things such as hair color or their age that helps me create a mental image on what they look like. Everything was rushed, to the jumping in bed and I love yous. It has so so much potential if it was just a little bit longer. A CEO and bodyguard romance is right up my alley, but it was missing so much! I had wished there was more action too since Dakota was meant to protect Anna because people literally wanted to kill her. If it was about double in size, I think it would’ve been a great story. But because it was so short there was a lot of things missing that gives you the ability to picture the story. It kind of felt like a Wattpad story.

This has so much potential if it weren't as rushed as it was. The plot would have been so good if the author explored more elements instead of getting straight to the "I love yous". Also, the steamy scenes were just cringe and I had to skip them. I would probably read it again in the future, but it's at the very bottom of my list.

"Acabo de leer 'Más allá del deber' de Clara Ann Simons y fue justo lo que necesitaba 😌 Es un libro súper corto y fácil de leer, de esos que te enganchas en una tarde y lo terminas sin darte cuenta. Historia de bodyguard + inventora con toques románticos sapphic, tensión profesional y todo el rollo de 'no debo cruzar esta línea'... pero se besan MUY pronto 😂 La única pega que le pongo es que no hay casi build-up ni tensión sexual lenta, ¡se lanza todo rapidísimo!
Aun así, es ideal para una lectura rápida y cómoda cuando has leído libros pesados que te han desgastado emocionalmente. Perfecto para desconectar sin complicaciones. 3.5/5 🌟

A quick palate cleanser

This book was a well-developed and engaging read. The plot and characters were thoughtfully crafted, and the story flowed smoothly, keeping my interest throughout. While it was a relatively simple read, it was still captivating. I would have liked more insight into the other conspirators, but overall, this is a great choice for anyone looking for a quick and compelling story.

Más allá del deber me ha dejado con sensaciones encontradas. La historia tiene una premisa interesante, pero siento que no llega a profundizar ni en la trama ni en los personajes. Todo sucede muy rápido, lo que hace difícil conectar con ellas o emocionarse con su evolución.

Aun así, la lectura es ágil y se deja leer con facilidad, y la química entre las protagonistas tiene momentos que consiguen mantener el interés. En mi caso, simplemente necesitaba un desarrollo más pausado para disfrutarla mucho más.
