Easter isn’t exactly the hottest of holidays—nevertheless, it took a giant bunny costume for Anna Clark to finally notice the perfect guy who’s been right under her nose this whole time.
After a playful encounter at Lake Geneva’s annual Easter egg hunt, Anna finds herself flirting with a mysterious man in a bunny mask at High Five, the local bar in her Wisconsin hometown. But when she discovers the bunny is none other than Chad Braun—a regular at the restaurant where she works—everything changes.
Chad’s always kept his distance, hesitant because Anna’s barely twenty-two and he's thirty-four. But behind the safety of the mask, he gives in to their undeniable connection. Soon, their flirtatious dares and witty exchanges take them on an unexpected journey filled with sparks, laughter, and chemistry.
Run, Little Bunny is a fun, steamy novella about finding love in unexpected places and embracing the thrill of new possibilities.
(This is Book #4 in the interconnected High Five Novella series. While it's encouraged to read Santa’s Coming, Cupid’s Shot, and Shamrock Kisses, each book stands alone.)
Romance Tropes: Age Gap, Secret Identity (Masked Man), Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Holiday Romance, He Falls First, Mild Primal Play.
Serena Pier is a recovering girl boss, mom, and wife. After being called a brat for as long as she can remember, she decided to lean into it—writing sassy, strong, complex female characters who fully embrace the sexy side of the word. Her books are influenced by her endless fascination with power dynamics and how they play out in relationships, workplaces, and everyday life. Most of her stories are set in and around Chicago, paying tribute to her Midwestern roots and love of all things dairy. When she isn’t in front of a screen, Serena can be found pontooning with her family, enjoying a glass of wine with friends, and driving as fast as she can on the track. Cute, Quick, Bantery and snarky. A perfect palette cleanser for when you need a change of pace and something light but still quirky to satisfy you. And the best thing? You get cameos of all other MCs from the previous novella. I really am enjoying what Serena is doing with these holiday themed novellas.
-- Pre-read: Serena no pressure, but a lot is riding on this book making me feel good.
Quick and spicy - a novella with an age gap romance. The waitress and her older regular who is obsessed with her finally have their shot at love after an Easter bunny outfit acts as the biggest ice breaker and lets them act out their true desires behind a mask of anonymity. Cute, funny, flirty with banter and chemistry for days. Insta love - he fell first. From an interconnected series of novellas, but can be read as a standalone.
✨Age gap ✨Small town ✨He fell first amd harder ✨Friends to lovers ✨Holiday romance
This book started off really cute. I couldn't stop smiling during their flirting period. And it's really cute that he had a crush on her for years but remained her friend only to approach her as an Easter bunny.
The funny part is, when Chad is being sexy and saying dirty things to her, it sounds like something a psycho serial killer would say to his next victim. I love golden retriever guys, but when they try to dirty talk... I just, don't like it. What I did not like in this book was the spice. I mean, I love spicy books, but this book would've been better if it was a clean romance. Another thing I did not like was how fast the things were going between them.
1.5⭐️ I had zero idea going into this one that it was a fully open-door novella (I really should have read beyond the title and not trusted the super cute cover alone). I never mind a steamy read, but there is just something about Easter and spice that does not go together for me. However, the synopsis clearly says steamy novella…Oops.
Getting past the spice aspect, this book took insta-love to a whole new level. While I appreciate that there will always be some amount of it in a novel, unless there are time gaps à la TJR’s Evidence of the Affair), these characters moved at the speed of light. After their first romantic tryst, they were talking babies and their lives together, for goodness sake! I also found the story to be quite repetitive after a cute, and fairly strong start. By the time I reached the conclusion (which of course ended in smut), I could not stand to hear the term “little bunny” one more time.
Friends, I am normally not a fan of writing overly negative reviews, but this novella is just not good in my humble opinion. Is it a one-off in a sea of other great novellas this author has written? Unclear. What is clear is that I will not be going back for seconds.
So, Run, Little Bunny was not for me. I’ve never liked people in costumes—they honestly freak me out—and that’s exactly how she first meets the love interest, which immediately threw me off. Plus, some of the things he says during the spicy scenes just didn’t work for me.
That being said, it’s a novella, so if the premise interests you, it may be worth giving it a try!
This was such a quick, fun, & spicy little novella! I flew through this one. Age gap, small town, secret identity (masked man), he falls first. So many good things about this one!! I have absolutely loved the books in this series and this Easter themed was just as fun! Excited for the next in this series!
I did audio with this & absolutely loved the narrators! I’m a sucker for Corvin King! 😍
My absolute favourite of this series so far! I am so in love with the relationship between these two main characters, the tension was perfect, and the spice was even better.
Not only did I love the k1nk play that comes with this one, I just loved how easy the connection and the communication flowed between these two.
Such a good read!
You get: • Contemporary Romance • Spicy • Novella • Mask Play • Age Gap • Small Town • Friends To Lovers
I loved this one! Available on KU, ebook, paperback, and audiobook.
It all started with a bunny costume. Anna has a flirty encounter with an Easter bunny at an event and based on the few clues she has, she’s hoping it’s Chad who is a regular at the restaurant she works at. She’s been eyeing him for a bit but they’ve never connected due to their age gap. Will things change?
This story was so cute and packed a punch for a novella! Chad and Anna were so fun and flirty and I loved it from start to finish.
The narrators! Both did amazing but Corvin King?? Swoon worthy every time.
Thank you so much to Serena Pier for providing this free ARC. This is my honest review. This published on March 20th!
Run, Little Bunny is book 4 in the High Five series; dual POV steamy romance novella with age gap, secret identity, and primal play elements that takes place around Easter holiday.
The FMC, Anna, is in her early 20s who is ready to start her own family and works at the Italian restaurant in Lake Geneva; the MMC, Chad, is in his mid 30s, a regular at the Italian restaurant where Anna works, with the biggest crush on Anna, but is hesitant to pursue a relationship with her due to the age difference.
During the annual Easter event at Lake Geneva, Chad dressed up as the Easter bunny (due to losing fantasy football game with his friends); while Anna, also in attendance, starts to flirt with the Easter Bunny. As the story continues, Anna realizes who is behind the mask and realize that their chemistry is undeniable.
As I continue the series, I am enjoying every single story and love the characters in this town.
A losing bet turned blind-ish date. Who is this mystery man behind the bunny mask?!
🐰 masked man 🥕 small town romance 🐰 blind date 🥕 friends to lovers 🐰 primal play
I had the ACL for this novella and WOW! The story was so cute and had some nice little spice in there. The narrators did an amazing job on this one. Had to keep my jaw closed while listening to these two banter with one another. I loved this one!
I ate this right up!!! Chad and Anna are so cute it’s unreal. Chad is 34 and Anna is 22. Chad is a regular at Anna’s work (restaurant, La Nonna) but Chad works as the Easter Bunny after losing a fantasy football bet.. and he shoots his shot with Anna at the Easter event and that’s where it all starts.
This is a quick, funny, and super spicy novella! Highly recommend!
This was a fun Easter novella! Age gap, they’ve liked each other for a long time and due to some Easter bunny anonymity they were finally able to talk about their feelings. It’s an age gap romance with a fast timeline once they both admitted feelings.
Everything about this installment in the High Five Novella series was perfect!!
If you had told me from the beginning that Anna’s story would be my favorite in the series, I would have scoffed at you hardcore. After our introduction to her in Cupid’s Shot as a Aaron Olson simp, I honestly wasn’t sure how she was going to be redeemed in a mature light, but Serena Pier did so well! From the very beginning we are shown how mature Anna is even at the younger age of 22. Not only does she know what she wants with her life and isn’t afraid to express it, but she also helps her sister with raising her young son in any way that she can (especially given that her brother-in-law in deployed during the story). She really was the freaking best!
Speaking of which, I love that Anna wants to be a stay-at-home mom, but not for several years and not under the restrictions of 50s-style housewifery. It puts a new light on what being a stay-at-home mom means and shows that she is strong and not subservient despite the connotation the role may come across with. Love it!
Chad FREAKING Braun!! He is going in my book boyfriends group FOR SURE! He was shy but confident, young at heart but wise, and a freaking ZADDY!! My goodness, he was everything I want in an MMC and more! He totally fell for Anna first and hard and he made it his mission to always give her what she wanted and needed, including but not limited to him giving her frequent hand necklaces, “good girls”, and primal scenes!
Honestly, the reason this book was a 5 for me was their chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS! From the very beginning to the very end, these two literally had me panting while reading and that was even before the intimate times! Their chemistry was perfect; sweet and sexy, butterfly inducing yet chill inspiring. It was *chefs kiss*!
Thank you to Serena Pier for the opportunity to read this book. The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.
KU Read 138 Pages Holiday Themes Novella Small Town Age Gap (22/34) Friends to Lovers Secret Identity Light Primal Anna and Chad have known each other a while but given the age difference he's never acted on his crush and asked her out. Keeping with the holiday theme of this series of books, it's a Easter bunny miracle ... They make a cute yet sassy/spicy pair. I liked this book.
I absolutely adored this little novella! My second one by her and this one did not disappoint! It was so cutesy and the vibes were vibing. Chad is what dreams are made of 😂😂 can’t wait to read more of the series!
I rated this a 4.5⭐️ I listened & read along in the book. The narrators were both great!! Another super cute read in the High Five Novella Series. This one is about Chad & Anna. Chad has had a crush on Anna for a while now but was always worried about the age gap. A lost bet and the Easter Bunny named Buttons might give him a chance to change things. Anna is a dark romance reader who is very mature for her age and knows exactly what she wants in life, except when it comes to finding someone to settle down with in this small town. The banter was really cute, the flirting was tension filled and the spice was definitely spicing.
Short (138 pages) and fast-paced holiday novella with age-gap, masked man (the fact that it’s an Easter bunny mask is irrelevant😂) and mild primal play😏. I enjoyed it from the start till the end.
The one thing I didn’t like was insta-love and just because it’s hard for me to believe in such thing. (it’s the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5)
The banter was good, I even got some tension and the spicy scenes were hot and also included a conversation about self-consciousness and acceptance.
The audiobook is good. I think I love the book even more because of the audio.
Pros: Sweet and short story, with a touch of spice, low stakes, and easy to read.
Cons: Cons: Anna comes on a bit too strong once she finds out that Chad has had a crush on her. She tries to get intimate with him after their first date, after discussing that she wants to marry and have kids within 3 years. Girl, if you want this dude to take you seriously, perhaps show some self-control and self-worth. I personally believe that desperation isn't a good look or something attractive for a guy who is interested in more than just a hookup 😒😩.
I'm personally not a fan of the "brat" compliment (is it a compliment?), and the MMC uses it quite a few times, referring to the FMC.
Omg... this had me cringing 🙄🙄🙄: So when the FMC is about to finally get intimate (after she's been behaving like a desperate cat in heat around him, almost begging to be "touched") with the MMC, she starts to display all this insecurities that do not align at all with her past behavior in the story. She's like: "I'm the biggest (size) that I've ever been. I want to lose weight", blablabla. Meanwhile, the MMC is genuinely attracted to the FMC and compliments her and her body, stating how much he likes her... And ok. I get that the FMC might feel insecure, but I found that this dialogue was like a bucket of cold water right when en things were finally getting steamy... 😓😑 Way to ruin the mood 😒.
Anyhow, this book is ok, in one word: "meh". Not bad, not fantastic, forgettable but overall entertaining and short. Would I re-read it? Nope. Would I recommend it? Perhaps.
Never did I think I would fall for the Easter Bunny, but here we are! 🐰
Run, Little Bunny is book 4 in the High Five Novella series, and it did not disappoint!
Chad and Anna were such a fun couple to read about! They had fun and flirty banter that had me giggling, Anna spoke up and was clear with what she wanted, Chad fell hard and never looked back, and everything was just so perfect and lighthearted for a novella!
Tropes: - Age Gap - Secret Identity/Masked Man - Friends to Lovers - Small Town Romance - Mild Primal Play - He Falls First - Holiday Romance
You definitely should check out the first three novellas in the series, so you are familiar with the side characters and the found family aspect of the book!
Listen, I am notorious for not liking novellas because I never feel like there is enough meat on the bones, but this series is SOOOO much fun. And this particular book was a freaking fantastic time. I love the age gap. I love their meet cute. I ADORE the banter between the characters. The friend group that the author has created is charming, and it makes me want to be a part of the group. And sweet child of mine, this was a spicy good time! I cannot wait for the next installment.
The narrators for this were Corvin King and Nikki Grey. Both of which did a fantastic job!
This was a really cute read, I listened on audiobook and the narration was excellent. This was fun to listen to and I enjoyed the characters a lot. There wasn’t a whole lot to it, just a cutesy crush meet-cute, and a fluffy romance (no pun intended). I did find the cuteness and then approach to the spice a weird balance. The spicy scenes didn’t seem to “fit” the vibe of the book for me but they were hot. It just didn’t gel for me though.
Overall, enjoyable quick listen and would recommend for a fun novella in between longer reads.
The kink is delicious. It turned me into a spicy puddle. If you really want to blush, then you should definitely listen to the audio Corvin King’s voice is sinful and tantalisingly perfect. The filthy words out of his mouth 💦 mmmm.
The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because the MMC is named Chad. I refuse to put a Chad on my book boyfriend list. Oh and there’s surprisingly less smut than expected.
This book is a top read for me! What's not to love
🐰 age gap 🩵 hidden identity 🐰 breeding king 🩵 some primal play
All of this packed into a novella perfectly narrated with all the hot chemistry vibes by Corvin King and Nikkie Grey. Run, Little Bunny is five stars of perfection.
Oh my gawd, I devoured this book! Run, Little Bunny is the perfect mix of fun, flirty, and so freaking spicy. Anna and Chad’s dynamic had me grinning like an idiot, and the tension? Whew. The spicy scenes? Chef’s kiss. Serena did not hold back, and I loved every second of it. A quick read that still gives you all the feels—absolute perfection. If you love a little heat with your romance, this one’s a must-read!
Before the review, I need to give a huge shout out to Corvin King and Nikki Grey on this audio. Novellas are hard, especially spicy ones. They were on freaking point! They truly made this novella feel like a full story and also left me wanting more! Corvin was a perfect choice for Chad.
Okay, so the whole first part of this (which was basically a few chapters really) I was kicking my feet smiling so hard my face hurt. It was such a sweet meet cute (even though they knew each other already). The whole first date at the bar? Perfection. Being behind the bunny mask gave Chad the confidence to shoot his shot with Anna like he's always wanted. It also gave Anna the ability to see Chad for more than just her loyal customer. It was like she saw him for the first time when she wasn't able to physically see him at all.
The banter was top-tier. The chemistry was off the charts. The way Chad wanted to give Anna everything her smutty book reading mind wanted was everything. He understood the assignment! The way he was so flawlessly able to go from sexy and seductive to light and funny was what put him in the topi 5 of book boyfriends.
We may not have had these two for a long time, but it was for sure a good time.
🐰 masked man 🥕 small town romance 🐰 blind date 🥕 friends to lovers 🐰 primal play 🥕 age gap 🐰 he falls first and harder
Thank you, Serena Pier and Blush Audio for the ALC.
“He’s going to chase me…F*ck yes!” Yep, that tracks with dark romance readers.
🐰 Age Gap 🐰 Mask 🐰 Primal play 🐰 brings her dark romance fantasies to life
When the Easter bunny at the town festival has eyes for Anna he takes a chance and asks her out for drinks. To keep up the mystery he keeps the Easter bunny head on and blind kisses her, which was so hot! Anna has a feeling she knows who this bunny is but the lead up to the reveal was like living out a fantasy. Anna has always been an old soul and an older man may be just what she needs!
If you want a quick, and spicy insta live novella you’re absolutely going to love this! I also highly recommend the audio, it’s narrated by Corvin King and Nikki Grey and they both did a fantastic job!
Thank you so much to Serena Pier for sending me this audio to listen to in exchange for my honest review
This one was not for me. I was not vibing with the Easter bunny costume and overall “masked kink”. The MMC was quite creepy. The way he spoke to her in the bedroom was just not it. He also wore the mask in the bedroom, an Easter bunny mask… if that does not give you the ick then I’m shocked.
The relationship moved too fast in my opinion, again like the last book talking about travelling together when you just met. Even about having kids like what? The breeding comments were a big ick considering their age gap and again, JUST MET. I felt more sugar daddy vibes from this book than romance.
For a novella, especially being book four in the series, it held well on its own, without lots of gaps in the story for new readers, thankfully.
An Easter themed romance, with a masked admirer, lots of flirting, an age gap between Anna and Chad which felt perfect for the pair. It was sprinkled with cute butterfly-in-the-stomach moments between the main characters which I loved!
I’ll be checking out more books by this author when I get the chance too. An easy read with a happy ever after is always a winner for me!
Some very dark romance parts in this story, inspired by Anna’s love of dark romance books that I think we’ve all read or heard about - think, being chased in the woods…
