Book Two in The Direction
With APA and The Direction shut down, everyone works to rebuild society and move forward in their new-found freedom.
Lila, now a Captain in the new military, follows the former Defense Major to join a new team being deployed to recon an area once known as Mexico, where several buildings have been discovered through aerial satellites. Their mission is to discover who built the facilities and what they are doing. Is this a new threat or a possible ally?
On this assignment, the team fights through both physical and emotional hardships, making everyone question their stability. Will the fear, loss, and anger put an end to their courage? Will they trust God to give them strength to overcome their struggles?

Typically I don’t do longer reviews but I thought that I would give one a shot today.
I thought the author did a really nice job with a lot of the points in this book:
1: The AI conversation- APA is a fascinating thing that I honestly feel a lot of us see happening in the future as we as a society delve into the good and the bad uses of AI.
2: Bible passages- I saw a post from this author on Instagram about how carefully she went through her bible to choose these verses. I personally think that is really awesome!Anything that brings us closer to faith is wonderful and props to this author for adding these clearly well thought out verses.
3: Military stresses- As a U.S. Navy veteran myself, I really did enjoy the emphasis on brotherhood in units whether they be combat, engineering, medic, or IT. I also really appreciate the start of what I feel is going to be a longer conversation on what struggles veterans face as they transition out of military life and into civilian life. I have a good feeling that the next book in the series is going to go more in depth here. That particular theme really hit come for me. Finally, I also appreciated that the book discusses killing in combat. It’s a real struggle sometimes for not just Christian troops but troops of all faiths and I think the author did a nice job of putting this into perspective for those not involved in combat.
The ONLY thing I will nitpick here (and this is based off of the U.S. Military I cannot speak for others) We do differentiate between ma’am and sir and enlisted ranks are not called out as ma’am or sir. But that is just super nit picky and otherwise I really like this book!
I highly recommend this series to anyone who is interested in Christian fiction with a dystopian angle!

(Audible) I was blessed with a free copy of this audiobook, read by the author. Part 2 of a Christian dystopian story. It's written in both 1st and 3rd. We have our protagonist in 1st, and her husband in 3rd person limited. It's a unique style that was both entertaining and somewhat jarring [with the quick back and forth]. There is a LOT of action, violence, and death here - as well as a lot of prayer and scripture. Inspiring. However, I, personally, didn't like that vaccines went from the enemy to the hero. The dystopian begins (in book 1) saying the vaccines caused the sterilization/downfall of the people. And while that theme continues throughout this book, (with **spoiler** our FMC being sterilized herself by a jab she didn't specifically consent to) ... except in this one, all of a sudden there is a "clean vaccine" that is necessary for the salvation of mankind. It doesn't set well with me that the characters salvation became dependent on a man-made injection that alters your God given immune system. But that's just me. Honestly, it was an action packed thrilling book that I'd never give less than 4 stars. I just wish it didn't flip the agenda so profoundly. If there were a dangerous virus released maybe the team could have followed instruction from God to create an herbal remedy or something else the Creator gave us to cure it, rather than making the "bad guy" the hero. (I'm so full of ideas 😄) Language is extremely mild with just a few well placed "sh*ts" and there is zero open-bedroom. I look forward to reading other's reviews on this one! Enjoy!

Oh my goodness! So good!
Honestly, things started out a little slow, more tension of something going to happen but not much happening yet. Then gosh things happened! And by the chapter appropriately titled Blood, Sweat, and Tears, the tears shed weren't just fictional. 😢 I wasn't even halfway through the book yet!
Then more stuff happened—and so many emotions!

The character's struggle to fight evil and hold onto good, and their own sanity, amidst the war they fight. Throughout the book, there's a beautiful use of scripture.
Overall, this is a powerful story inspiring us to have fortitude! ❤️🔥

Love this Christian series
This series is so good. While I am not a Catholic, I am a Baptist and I love this Christian series. It’s nice not to have x rated scenes and while it does have a very little cussing, it is very mild. Thank you for writing these books. I’m can’t wait to start my third book.

Enjoyed book two. Truly enjoy the faith (and specifically Catholic) integration throughout the book. It’s entertaining, action packed, and hopeful that Faith can carry us through the tough times in the world today, just like the characters in here.

Dystopian reality
Both the first book and this one seem like a near future. It doesn't take much of a stretch.
