Only a translation. But there are explanations in some sentences.
The beginning of the book tells a little about Lao Zi, Daodejing and something about the possibility that the character may be fictional and the existing version of Taoteching.
There are explanations of several Mandarin characters such as 道, 德, 常, 得, 長, 式, 善, 言, 名 焉, 恆, 萬物.
Overall, the translation of this book is not that good and i found a lot much better version of translation books
