i have so many thoughts about this book and truly no idea how to express them. i went into this very “hehe haha hell yeah mmf” and left it very “HELP IM STILL AT THE RESTAURANT” like actually, when you know youll know what i mean.
the ending of this book actually gutted me and i really dont know moving forward into the next two books how i will feel anything other than justice for my angel sebastian?!?!
this book was a genius start to the series honestly, it did a beautiful job sucking you in and setting you up to HAVE to know how the next two books will go and what will be in them.
this book is MESSY until the bitter end.
ill be quite honest i never really cared for savannah through the entire book, i felt like she was very haughty and rude, especially to people “below” her. im not quite sure if its because we dont get her point of view in the book that i could never really connect with her. tbh i feel like it was very intentional for the reader to feel this way toward her??? IDK nonetheless, i fear both adam and sebastian deserve way better from her. however there were often times where i felt adam was getting what he deserved out of their relationship and that sebastian just deserved better than both of them. it was a very conflicting back and fourth on a lot of feelings toward adam and savannah, but again i think that may have been intentional?
i really just have no other words besides this book was brilliant. im super anxious to see how this story continues and how itll end. i feel very confident that the entire trilogy will be nothing short of phenomenal and emotionally damaging 😂
i really cant wait to get my hands on the audiobook for this 🤭

February 17, 2025DNF at 56% :( I seriously wanted to love this book (the author was so kind to gift me a copy!), but I've been reading it on and off for a month, and I can't get into it. I wasn't the biggest fan of all the age gaps. While the premise one hundred percent intrigued me—I love a Hollywood/celebrity romance—I couldn't connect with Savannah or Adam. Savannah especially didn't have any characteristics that I found to be likable. The pacing didn't move fast enough for my preference and some of the writing was too telling vs showing.

THIS ROMANCEEEEEEE.
This is an MMF romance where Sebastian is hired as a driver for Hollywood's golden couple who lives in London. He immediately catches the interest of the wife, and they hook up pretty quickly. He doesn't know, though, that the husband and wife like to share, and the husband quickly joins into the affair. While this is a SUPER spicy book and it initially is a pretty physical relationship, I was so in love specifically with Sebastian and Adam's relationship and their dynamic. Adam and Savannah are in the limelight, so everything they do is always watched and speculated. Adam feels he can never truly be who he wants to be, and his conversations with Sebastian were so deep and broke my heart.
The ending of this book!?!? Giana created character that buried themselves into my heart and I just want to see them happy and with a love they deserve. I can't wait to see where their story goes!

i don’t know how i feel after that??? the cliffhanger was crazy and the chapters of rip-your-heart-out passion and angst before that were even crazier.
i really felt no positive emotions at any point towards savannah which is what has me conflicted. i’m very curious to see how this plays out because the connection between adam and sebastian was palpable and i was rooting for both of them even when their flaws were frustrating but i can’t see myself rooting for either or both of them with savannah.

Як же я люблю як поетично пише Дарлінг, просто насолода для очей та вух. Гірко-солодко та дуже чуттєво. А гаряче як. Це перша книга трилогії, вона коротше за наступні та можна сказати це ніби зав'язка та передісторія до основних подій. Тому тут було не так вже багато розвитку героїв. Хоча нам дали трохи зазирнути в голову Адама. Боже, бідний дедді. Сподіваюсь в подальших книгах він отримає все кохання цієї планети.

4 stars for the MM (this should have only been an MM)
1 star for the MMF and mainly because of the absolute narcissistic sicko that’s the FMC. Who basically turned Adam and Sebastian’s relationship in to her s@xual fantasy.
There was like zero actual romance in this except for maybe a little at the end between Adam and Sebastian.
It started off very much insta-lusty and continued on like that for a majority of the book. We learn nothing about Savy other than she’s a narcissist sociopath and is pretty much using both Adam and Sebastian to gain attention and flattery. Her character comes off so predatory it’s actually gross. I’m all for a reverse age gap dark romance, but she didn’t even care about Sebastian or Adam. Like they both could have been anyone else as long as they were giving her attention/s@x and she would have been ok. This all proved by the ending 🫠🫠🫠.
Giana hasn’t released the description for book 2. There is potential for there to be another FMC, Linnea, which I hope is the case. The whole vibe between her and Sebastian made me think that there might be a healing arc between her and Adam and Sebastian. The best scene in the whole book was the three of them surfing on Adam’s birthday. It actually made me tear up. It’s the only time both Sebastian and Adam were able to actually relax throughout the whole book and actually be people instead of Savy’s sex toys.
If Savy is the FMC in The Sun and Her Burn I’m not reading it. She literally made my skin craw in this book. She’s basically like any big Hollywood producer taking advantage s@xually of new talent. She’s a predator period and there’s no excuse for it.
Ugh also really annoyed with Giana for comparing Elena (Seb’s sister) to Savy. Like Elena at this point in the story is a young traumatized girl and even in her books never, never uses someone much younger than her for her own s@xual gratification.
Honestly, if Savy is not the FMC of book 2 and not end game, I will come back to this review and give it 3.5 or 4 stars. And appreciate the build up to the actual MM or MMF relationship.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by Giana Darling…… 🙋🏻♀️
This book was so complex and moving while still being whimsical and freeing. I felt so many emotions in such a short period of time and I will never recover.
Sebastian is a hired driver for the elite in London. An Italian Irish immigrant trying to make his way as an actor and get his manuscript detailing a very similar upbringing to his own made into a movie. When he meets Savannah Meyers for the first time he knows his life will never be the same. What Savannah wants, Savannah gets. And she tells him as much. After introducing both Sebastian and his manuscript to her husband, Adam. The married couple has a proposition for Sebastian. Not only do they want to help him achieve his dreams, but they want him to join them in their lives.
As the complex relationships between all three characters develop and grow theres so much pushback from all three in such different ways. While I can see how Savannah could be a frustrating character I also see a scared insecure little girl who’s just trying to ensure she will always be loved. The struggles that Adam faced are much more blaringly obvious and honestly heart wrenching to say the least. Sebastian, as well, the sweet, kind soul that he is faces so much adversity and challenges in his short time with the Meyers its not surprising that he falls hard for them and them for him.
This book absolutely shattered me into a million pieces. I knew there was going to be heartbreak at the end of this story but I did not anticipate how viscerally I would feel the pain along with the characters. All three have so much to give and don’t know how to or how to receive the love in turn.

I feel so sad I didn’t love this one more! I fully expected to love it and I just didn’t connect with it. It is very spicy right from the start and while I knew it would be, I just found myself wanting more of an actual connection or emotional connection between the characters. It just felt so lusty and focused on the physical connection only and I just needed something more from them. Basically this is a MMF, a married Hollywood couple and her driver (the 3rd in their relationship), age gap, bisexual awakening.
While this is the first in a trilogy, I am not invested at this first book to continue on to see how the story plays out. Don’t get me wrong, the ending was wild and shocking buuuut I just wanted more for Seb now. 😅 I would also forget how young he was (18/19) and I just felt like this couple was not here for him and were just using him. I wanted more for him and wasn’t sold on them even caring about him at all.
The lyrical writing this author delivers on was there and so good, the audiobook narration was fantastic. This story just didn’t work for me sadly.
While this is the first in a trilogy, I am not invested at this first book to continue on to see how the story plays out. I feel like I just got off a Seb/Sav/Adam roller coaster. That cliffhanger had me like whut. I wasn’t shocked, but just seeing it happen had my feelings hurt for Seb.
I’m not happy with Savannah or Adam, and Seb truly deserved better than what he got. As a whole, the three of them had great sexual chemistry….but other than that we didn’t get much in terms of being able to root for them as a throuple.
The best part was Giana’s writing, it’s beautiful and descriptive as always. But other than that, it’s going to take a lot for me to be invested in their journey so the next two books have some work to do. While this was a highly anticipated release for me, it didn’t hit the mark for me like I thought it would.

4.5✨ I truly can’t even describe how this book made me feel but understand it was EVERYTHING! This was so insane, so hot, so juicy, so messy. Everything I love in a romance. No one does it like Giana and I need the next book ASAP. A must read (but actually listen, the audiobook is sensational)

Giana was my most read author from last year (I read 8 of her books in 2024) and I typically give her books 4-5 stars. When I saw this book I was foaming at the mouth to get my hands on it. Imagine my surprise that I ended up not really liking it very much. There was no buildup or tension and it was all instalust and immediate sex scenes. Now, don't get me wrong, I love a sexy romp but I need plot to go along with it and I felt this one was lacking on that front.
If you want to read a steamy, MMF type of book with buildup, intrigue and tension, I definitely prefer Salt Kiss by Sierra Simone.
If you want to read a steamy, MMF type of book with buildup, intrigue and tension, I definitely prefer Salt Kiss by Sierra Simone.

I am in love and Sebastian Lombardi and his old soul may be my new favorite.
Immediately upon beginning The Moon & His Tides, I knew that I was reading something special. Something that totally enraptured me and had me in a chokehold from beginning to end. The poetic writing. The powerful characters. The richness in the setting. The rapport between each person in this story. And the heat, angst and messiness of an affair between 3 unlikely people. It was truly a work of art. Giana Darling brought her A game with the sensuality between Sebastian, Savannah and Adam and the chemistry between them all ignited their world. Theirs is a story that made my heart beat and ache at the same time.
Sebastian Lombardi has left his home in Naples and moves to England in hopes that his dreams of making it in the acting world come true. When his side job as a chauffeur has him crossing paths with the wife of a famous actor, his world is completely turned upside down and his eyes are opened to something he never even considered for himself. His attraction and desire for Savannah Meyers soon gets tangled into her marriage and the illustrious Adam Meyers brings another layer to the already complex relationship.
While I fell hard for Sebastian and what he brought to the relationship of a married couple, it was the complicated relationship between Adam and Savannah that intrigued me. I think there is still a lot to unpack with them but seeing these 3 navigate their attraction was sexy, beautiful, confusing and heartbreaking.
This first book in the Impossible Universe Trilogy is beyond spicy. But there is so much more than the undeniable heat. Giana Darling seamlessly balances the very erotic with a raw and emotional journey along with a depth to the characters overall arc. The chemistry and sexual tension is mind blowing, but it's the vulnerability and emotional aspects that really bring it all together for an unforgettable story that will stay with you long after you flip the last page.
I wanted a love so powerful it moved the sun and stars.
Changed the course of my life forever.
Became my new gravity.

All 3 of these characters were so complex with flaws and tragedies of their own, and I cannot wait to see where this story takes us. Giana Darling really had me sobbing at the end though…

The bi awakening brought so much tension to the chemistry between the characters and I so looked forward to the scenes where all 3 of the characters were together. This is absolutely the hottest book I’ve read yet not just for the impeccable spice but the TENSION and the yearning between the characters.

It is finally time for the mystery of Sebastian Lombardi's secret pain. I knew it would hurt me, but I was excited for the ride. And what a ride it was!
Seeing him as a fresh-faced aspiring actor and screenwriter was so hopeful and bright. But we know Giana doesn't write those kind of romances, AND this is a trilogy, so we are gonna get in deep.
As we meet the other love interests in this show, I was swept away. The glamorous Myers couple. Adam (28) is a British actor and closeted Bi-sexual and his beautiful wife, Savannah (34). They completely consume Seb in a very short amount of time after he chauffeurs Savannah a few times and catches her attention. She quickly feels an attraction to him and gets her husband to reel Seb into their web.
Seb has never been interested in men before, but if anyone was going to pique his attraction, this charming man would be it. It's a mixture of intrigue, raw passion, and curiosity that draws them all together. It's hot and thrilling, even though there is a distance that Seb doesn't quite understand. Where does he fit? Is he just a toy? How much should he care about them both? He can't help but fall into their orbit but be careful what you build your life around.
Especially when one of the people you are starting to love, can't love you out loud.
Well, you'll have to see for yourself how it all lands. Just remember, we have a long way to go. I can't wait for The Sun & Her Burn. I'm ready for more pain.
My only real detraction is that I didn't quite like that this was literally sex from the jump. I also wanted more of Savannah, but given the name of book 2... I have a feeling we'll get there.

Whew! I knew the plot was thickening, and it was going to set up to be full of angst. And boy did it deliver.
This is the story of Sebastian, who meets too very well known and famous married couple Adam (famous British actor) and Savannah. Their marriage is clearly on the rocks, but being that Adam is in secret, bisexual, and Savannah loves being thr center of two males attention, They occasionally bring men into their marriage.
Sebastian age 18, became more than just a fling. This is a whirlwind romance, where everyone was vying for eachother‘s attention. It’s a bit of toxicity, but everyone fell in love with each other over the course of a year. There’s a ton of emotions coming from everyone. This book is exclusively in the males perspective. Mainly Sebastian‘s with a few chapters through Adams POV.
Adam feels that if he comes out as bisexual, that it would damage his career and it’s something that he’s not willing to do even if he is falling for Sebastian. What’s interesting is we don’t get any of Savannah‘s point of view. I personally did not like her character at all however, I’m really interested to know if we ever get inside of her mind in the next book.
Gianna Darling’s writes beautifully. Very emotional and full of beautiful wording.
This book is one of the most spiciest books that I’ve read in a while. I have so many scenes highlighted from this book. Lol.
It does leave off on a cliffhanger.

Wow - can that be the review? I was IMMEDIATELY drawn in and swept the hell away by this book. The CHEMISTRY between Sebastian, Savannah and Adam is truly undeniable and their emotional!!! and angsty!!!! journey kept me turning those pages.
I think it's truly best going into this book blind and know that each character brings something special and unique to the story and they each play their role. Obviously, Sebastian was an absolute stand out for me. Yes he's young but he's also incredibly passionate, wise beyond his years. He's devoted, emotional, knows what he wants and isn't afraid to reach out and take it.
You can absolutely feel the absolute passion and love that Giana has poured into this book, these characters and their souls. She is a genius. Her writing is so poetic and beautiful. The emotions that she bought out of me....
This book is raw, gritty, emotional, angsty and some of Giana's best work. I am anxious to see how the rest of their story plays out. I'm strapped in and ready to go though, roll on June!

If you want a book that is basically just sex with a tiny sprinkling of plot, then this is the book for you. There is a lot of smut; it starts early and continues at an almost constant rate throughout the book.
𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨:
Sebastian is an 18-year-old Italian who has moved to London and taken a job as a chauffeur for Savannah Meyers, the wife of the very, very famous movie star Adam Meyers. Sebastian is instantly attracted to Savannah, and the more time they spend together, the closer they become. One day, he makes her pleasure herself in the backseat of the car while watching her. Not long after, Sebastian drops his screenplay (something he has been working on for years), and Savannah picks it up, reads it, and is instantly intrigued. She shows it to her husband, and Adam makes him a proposition: if Sebastian agrees to be their "third", they will help him make the right connections to turn his screenplay into a movie and catapult him to fame. So why would he say no to that?
𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨:
This is a dual-POV story told primarily from Sebastian’s perspective, with occasional chapters from Adam. Savannah’s POV is left out, which to me felt super strategic and intentional. It almost seems as if she was meant to be "objectified" in the dynamic between Adam and Sebastian rather than being a fully developed character.
Sebastian is your stereotypical passionate and emotional Italian. He has this innocence about him, with rose-coloured glasses firmly in place, but he also has an intrinsic determination to succeed. He is intensely driven and fiercely loyal to the people he cares about. When Adam and Savannah become part of his world, he protects them as if they are his own, yearning to make them happy in the same way he craves his own success.
Adam, on the other hand is stoic, dominant, and fights to remain "controlled". He is closed off, which makes sense given his celebrity status and the need to guard himself against those who might use or manipulate him. It takes time for him to let his walls down and accept that he is developing feelings, especially because he has spent his life adhering to a traditional, heteronormative mould. Anything that deviates from that is a direct threat to his career, and reputation, and will not be tolerated. His internal struggle makes his story- arc compelling, even if it is frustrating to watch unfold and you just want to tell him, PEOPLE WON'T CARE IF YOU ARE BI!
Savannah… Savannah is selfish, manipulative, and greedy. She knows how to play the game, using Adam as a pawn to further her own ambitions. I struggled to get a proper read on her, and I think that was intentional. While this is technically an MFM romance, it almost feels like a bizarre love triangle. You’re constantly questioning whether this will develop into a fully functional throuple or if it’s merely the prelude to Adam’s coming-out story and Sebastian’s bi-awakening and their eventual MM relationship.
As I mentioned, a lot of this book is just sex. These characters have a raw, carnal desire for each other, and it is explored openly and relentlessly on the page. But at times, I found myself craving more plot. With so much focus on the sex, I wanted a little more substance to balance it out.
One thing that confused me was the side characters, specifically the dynamic between Sebastian and one of Savannah’s friend’s daughter - who is 16. Sebastian is 18, technically still a teenager, and because he’s an intrinsic flirt, I wasn’t entirely sure where their relationship was going. There were moments when it felt like it could become something, but at the same time, it never fully crossed that line. So it was a little confusing and weird since he was being sexually active with a 28 and 34-year-old.
The writing itself is stunning. The poetic prose, and the symbolism of the sun, moon, and stars… it was beautiful how it all ties into Sebastian’s romanticized view of love. Everything about his character is larger than life, and his emotions reflect that. His love isn’t simple; it’s epic!
And just when you think things are reaching some kind of resolution, the book hits you with a cliffhanger that will leave you reeling. Seriously, what the fuck kind of ending was that?!

OH MY HEART AND SOUL. They are choking from the tension and angst of this story! As always, Giana deftly blends raw emotional depth and existential intensity with deliciously rich erotic provocation. The Moon and His Tides is brimming with emotively rich and poignant character journeys…and it’s a beautifully complicated and heart wrenching study of love, brokenness, repression, and desire. And it’s the very best of Giana Darling, how she can somehow scribe a story that is a profoundly affecting and thought provoking study of human psychology that’s also seductive and HOT AS HELL. I could not tear myself away from these pages, desperate for more.
Sebastian- the young chauffeur/aspiring actor, turned hungry ingénu in a carnal but complicated throuple dynamic with the much older British movie star Adam Meyers and his equally high profile wife Savannah. The desire, the lust, the exploration comes easy….but the relationship dynamics, not so much. Love, secrets, and jealousy complicate this fragile arrangement. You can just FEEL them on a precarious precipice, dangling over the edge of tragedy and heartbreak. Yet like our characters, we can’t help but sink deeper into the allure of their dynamic. What I love most about Giana’s writing is how unapologetic she is her characters’ authenticity….and in her own point of view. How brilliantly she explores love stories that are somehow both innocent and taboo. Giana fearlessly explores the chaos and messiness of love. It’s paradoxical complexity. How love can be both wrong and right, how love can be unhealthy yet liberating, how love can fulfill yet harm. This is a love that will inspire and shape them…but it will also break them. It’s messy. SO FREAKING MESSY. And add in the unspoken but riveting power dynamics at play here? I’m floored. Giana gives it the depth and sensitivity it deserves- there’s a gravitas and intimacy here that’s truly remarkable. It’s viscerally impactful emotionally…but also sexually. The way eroticism and sensuality here is used to connect and flay these characters, to drive their story- this isn’t spice for spice. Giana wields it like Monet a brush.
I’m enthralled and desperate and broken and CAPTIVATED. And I can not wait for this angsty journey to continue. Like always, I know Giana will tear into my heart more before she heals it. There is hope and healing here….but not yet. And I have no idea how this wil play out, but I do know the journey will beautifully painful.
The audio narration HAD ME BLUSHING. Oh lord. CJ Mission in particular shines - the accent, the emotion, the range. And Shane East had me melting. Desireé Ketchum also brings a lot to the narration of Savannah- despite her not having any POV in this book (which is very smart of Giana- OH it adds the angst- just how do we feel about her? we can't know without being in her head). My only qualm was that the narrators sounds much older in their performances than the characters. To me it kind of took away the impact of the age gap taboo- though the dynamic itself was taboo enough to keep it plenty salacious.

Whew….The Moon and His Tides by Giana Darling was an emotional and steamy MMF romance that did dirty delicious things to my heart. I’m fairly new to Giana’s books, and I could not stop listening to this alluring temptation that is Sebastian, Savannah, and Adam. Their intricate, messy love story had me all up in my feels; not to mention blushing profusely throughout. This is book one of the Impossible Universe trilogy, so prep your heart for a cliffy ending.
C.J. Mission, Shane East, and Desiree Ketchum perform this audiobook in duet-style narration. C.J. carried the majority of this book performing a passionate Italian accent to convey Sebastian’s secret desires and newfound bisexuality. Shane’s performance commanded your attention, encompassing Adam’s dominant demeanor and showcasing a soft vulnerability. Desiree adds a sense of enchantment and seduction to Savannah’s addictive dialogue and persona, which makes her hard to resist. This trio sure did bring the heat, the longing, and the tension between Sebastian, Savannah, and Adam.
Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a MMF romance with an ambitious Italian chauffeur turned screenplay writer, a Hollywood power couple, posh London, luxury car services, back alley propositions, car steam, voyeurism, secret affairs, spicy time with berries, dirty talk, more steam, surfing dinner dates, love declarations, intimate conversations, and an ending that will leave your heart longing for more, then you will love the beginning of the Impossible Universe Trilogy. And the Lombardi family obsession continues with Sebastian!
Sebastian has been such a charming character appearing through all his sisters books so when it was announced his story was coming I was so excited!
Giana is one of the most talented authors, her mind is so poetic, beautiful and powerful and she really shows us that with The Moon and His Tides, book one of the Impossible Universe Trilogy.
From page one I was absolutely enchanted by Sebastian and then very quickly was absolutely consumed by him, Adam and Savannah.
The three of them together had this electricity and chemistry that just worked so well together so I was living for every scene about them.
When Giana said it was one of her spiciest books there was no lie told! We were blessed with so many of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read, I couldn’t stop blushing and definitely needed a moment to compose myself after some chapters (15 and 21 iykyk)
Although the spice was phenomenal there was also true emotion flooding these pages that you feel so deep in your soul, you fall in love with these characters, you love with them and hurt with them. Giana just outdoes herself every single time so we know book 2 and 3 are going to be a ride but I’m buckled in and I’m ready to see where we go ❤️

2.5 stars! I pushed myself to finish this and give it a fresh new start after soft DNF'ing it earlier. And this hurts me to write down, especially since I love Gianna's books and writing. I just couldn't gel with this and the emotional punch at the end, while devastating and could feel for Sebastian, I just couldn't get myself to see how this was love in any capacity. It felt like infatuation of the unattainable, not some build to an epic love story. Adam and Savvy are extremely selfish, especially Savvy and I get that they are supposed to be the typical Hollywood/elite etc.. but it just felt toooo on the nose. I wanted more and I know based on the title for the 2nd book that we likely get Savvy's POV because not having it didn't help at all. I still plan on reading on and hoping having her POV in the next one will round out the story better. It just felt more like a famous actor's memoir of his backstory more than anything. Anyway, I will still continue because there is potential!

This was an intense, emotionally charged MMF romance, but the dynamic didn’t always feel balanced for me. Adam, the brooding British actor, and Sebastian — his quiet, observant chauffeur with creative ambitions — had real, undeniable chemistry. Their connection felt raw, vulnerable, and emotionally loaded, and it was easily the strongest part of the book.
Savannah, on the other hand, often felt more like a third wheel than an equal part of the relationship. Her dialogue was frequently sharp and biting, and while that could have added depth, it mostly came across as irritating — especially since she’d return later as if nothing had happened. That inconsistency made her frustrating rather than compelling, and at times she pulled focus away from the emotional core of the story.
The smut leans into tension, longing, and emotional vulnerability rather than nonstop explicit scenes, and it works best when driven by unresolved feelings and power dynamics.
The plot focuses more on internal conflict, jealousy, and acceptance than external drama. While the MMF structure is present, it doesn’t always feel evenly developed, which is why it didn’t fully land for me. The drama was saved for the end, and I loved that the author didn’t shy away from taking that risk — it made the payoff feel tense and unpredictable.
That said, I’m genuinely interested in learning more about Adam’s past in the next books. There’s clearly a lot of unresolved trauma and depth there, and that thread is what hooked me the most.
And yes — despite my issues, I’m immediately picking up book two. That alone says a lot.
