UGH! Another great volume! 🥹
If you ever want to be so frustrated because you have entered the area of gray zones, read this story mmk! This is what makes this story sooo good!
In this volume in particular we see Jiheon having this push and pull-away relationship. He's always been so concerned for the other person in the relationship and he is willing to sacrifice so much of himself for that person to be happy. Their happiness becomes his happiness. If someone wants to date him because they like him, he says, "sure, let's do it." Never batting an eye to say, "no."
Until Kwon Jaekyoung came into the picture and says every possible excuse and way to turn him down. But as he falls in love, he begins to go back to old habits.
He's so stubborn and sinks his teeth in those habits... Is that wrong? Well... Yes and no.
He liked seeing them happy and he would put his full effort in said relationships. So what's the catch? It was he who would always get dumped... Why?
I'll answer that in a moment.

Jiheon's life flips right side up, surprisingly, when he reunites with Jaekyoung, who is by far the biggest bulldozer simp I've read... Ever! Lol he implants himself in Jiheon's life and is so confident in winning.
And winning, he does because Jiheon has fallen head-over-heels for him, even though Jiheon has told himself that he no longer wants to date someone just because someone says they like him. (it's because he's afraid.)
So after much struggle to push this stubborn man to go away, he starts finding him cute and very quickly Jiheon begins falling into old habit of giving 110% of himself. Something unexpected happens that impedes being together with Jaekyoung and jeopardizes Jaekyoung’s career.
Jiheon wants so badly to be with Jaekyoung and as the reader, we are rooting for him, trusting the process because he's accepted Jaekyoung!
The reason people dumped Jiheon was because he was too perfect. He never showed any imperfection of himself and made himself the perfect boyfriend. So, people eventually got bored with him. So Jiheon, being the perfect boyfriend with this habit, takes matters into his own hands.

As a result, Jiheon sacrifices his health and begins to get so sick to be with Jaekyoung. We are frustrated and scared because we don't know what else he could do. We want them to be together. Jiheon begins to lie to Jaekyoung about his sickness... And when it all comes to light he says:
“Yeah. I’m saying you’ve hit the touchpad.”
“…….”
“And it’s been a while already.”
Jaekyoung has reached Jiheon's ♥️ ... But he's not happy. Rather, he gets angry.
I got upset over this too because I'm like, DUDE WHAT THE HELL? HE'S TRYING TO PLEASE YOU AND BE WITH YOU!
But then, Jaekyoung says, "If you really liked me, you should've told me honestly. You should've told me so we could have found the best way for both of us."
Oh!... Wait... I get the last bit, but why the first bit? Sounds a little gaslighty, right?
Jiheon proceeds to tell him that he doesn't want Jaekyoung to sacrifice his body because he's an athlete and he matters. Jiheon would rather put himself at stake, for he doesn't want that other person to feel the burden in the relationship. He cares and loves them that he'd rather be the one to suffer, thus sacrifices himself.
Jaekyoung pretty much says at this point and in summary:
🔹 Skrew being an athlete! What's so different about us anyway? Stop saying I'm more important when you're just as important! Especially to me. I don't care about the Olympic medal, because you're my medal! 🔹
Jaekyoung figures out other solutions and makes arrangements in ways Jiheon, and readers, would have never even thought of. He is able to show Jiheon in summary that:
🔹 I'm here and I'm not going anywhere. So open up your so called 'ugly sides' and I'll show you mine! I accept it all. Share your burdens with me, I'll gladly take them!🔹
Jiheon is so afraid to show that "ugly side" to Jaekyoung. He's so afraid of Jaekyoung also leaving him just like everybody else, so he begins to push him away, but Jaekyoung doesn't budge.
It may seem like Jaekyoung is in the wrong or we don't understand him until he starts to talk more and more. He makes the reader realize this gaslighting gray area of... Is this a red flag? 🚩 Huh! ... I guess it's not, huh? It's toxic for any other situation and in any other story, except for Jiheon's because it's exactly what he needs.
He needs someone just as, if not more, stubborn than he is to get him out of his comfort zone of hiding away his vulnerable side. To get him to stop being so detrimentally selfless, and think about himself, too.
Because he matters, too.
"If you like someone, you have no choice but to show them your ugly side, cling to them, and do all kinds of unsightly things. Look at me. You know best what I did because of you. That's how it's supposed to be. How can someone show their cool and composed side their whole life? How can you live like that?"
Jaekyoung genuinely believed he had displayed various behaviors in front of Jiheon, but Jiheon didn't think those words made much of a difference. At least, he never once considered Jaekyoung unsightly or pathetic. But that was probably because it was Jaekyoung. He was always confident no matter what he did. Perhaps that was why it didn't seem odd even if he did something unbecoming. Jiheon simply thought Jaekyoung was rather confident in himself. In fact, Jaekyoung could always be confident because he had faith in himself.
Everything Jaekyoung does is to uplift Jiheon. He wants people to see how amazing Jiheon is. He wants Jiheon to be on the spotlight because that's how important he is to him.

Jaekyoung handles things like a champ and takes the reigns. Forcing Jiheon to stay at home for 10 days so he could get better.
I'm like, "tf!"
But then you realize... It's because he knows Jiheon well and knows if he's left alone, Jiheon will try to sneak away and do things HIS way... Again. Most likely putting himself in danger.
So, then the infamous scene of omegaverses comes...! Jiheon's Heat
It's hot. It's spicy!! 🔥
It's... Green?? 🟩
Yes, because Jiheon is finally learning to trust Jaekyoung fully with his vulnerable and uglier sides. He's learning to be cared for and loved 100% instead of just giving. 🥹💕
And Jaekyoung is always two steps ahead in this game of 4D chess. Or is he? For a little swimmer beat, not just one, but two elite contraceptives and both world champion swimmers. 😂
