In 1561, with Elizabeth I on the throne and Catholic plots brewing, a young German prince arrives in England claiming to be the rightful heir – the son of Henry VIII and Anne of Cleves.
Armed with jewels, letters, and Tudor looks, his claim threatens to upend the dynasty. But as poison spreads and secrets unravel, astrologer John Dee and his companion Margaretta must uncover the truth behind the prince’s origins. Their investigation spans England and Germany, revealing forbidden love, betrayal, and a dangerous plot with ties to the throne. Will they uncover the truth in time to save the queen?
Fascinating story, pacy and impeccably researched, I really enjoyed this final book of the trilogy - or is it? I was invested in Margaretta’s story - a fictional character amongst historical figures. I was disappointed that she didn’t find love outside her family, so might there be another book to give us a satisfying ending?! GJ Williams has really found her stride now, but she really deserves a better proofreader. It was very annoying that Amelia/Amalia and Wooton/Wotton were not corrected, even given the variety of spellings in Tudor times!! Also many other slips of spelling and grammar.

Outstanding. I wouldn't expect less from G.J Williams at this point. I have read all three Tudor Rose Murders books and I feel so immersed and invested in the charecters stories and lives. I hope there will be a fourth book to come.
