So many romances heating up and so many humans being into satyrs (some of those revelations being much more shocking than others). This volume had the introduction of some characters I liked and some I didn't (Pallas and the princess). So many developing and shifting dynamics that were all so fascinating to me, even if I didn't love the direction some of them were going in. Overall, I loved this and can't wait to read the next volume.

An LGBTQ+ story where almost nothing ever happens. It's all lurid glances and kissing but no story to speak of. In this one the main character goes to the palace where he meets another wastrel satyr and the two of them live a life of leisure while his ex occasionally trains to be the next arch mage. It's all so tedious, LGBTQ+ or not. I can't believe it took a year to make this drivel.

There was no plot to speak of, the main character mostly f*cks around while the dude he’s into is working his arse off.
I don’t think I’ll bother with reading the sequel.

While I really enjoyed the first book, this one felt less cohesive and didn't have much in the way of plot. There's more new characters and a new setting introduced and while I very much like Pallas lol I would've also liked something more to happen. Still curious to see what happens next though.
