A much needed vacation. An unexpected romance between two strangers. A small town filled with whispering secrets.
Inspired by old childhood memories and searching for a new direction in life, Yvonne embarks on a long-awaited vacation to the breathtaking town of Diamond Cove.
The local murder mystery theatre was the life of the town—but she soon arrives to discover it in disarray and the whole cove swamped in rumors. As she falls in love with the cozy atmosphere, Yvonne decides to reunite an old passion by opening a jewelry shop next door to the theater.
Lance, the owner of the theater, is the towns gossip. Why? Because everyone in town thinks he had something to do with his wife’s disappearance. After meeting Yvonne, he is determined to drive her away. But when she won’t back down, he hands her an impossible help him rebuild his theatre and she can have her jewelry shop.
Lance is sure that a day of hard work will send Yvonne scurrying back home. But he was never prepared for how much he feels for her. As the unlikely pair struggle to resist the magnetic attraction between them, Yvonne begins to unravel the dark secrets that Diamond Cove keeps buried deep behind its beauty.
Can Yvonne save Lance’s business and find her future in Diamond Cove? Or will the tension between them dash her hopes against the cove’s rocky shores?
When The Town Whispers is a wholesome and feel-good contemporary women’s fiction series that explores themes of second chances, later-in-life love, and healing from grief.
This is a good start to this series with a good outlook that it’s going to be a really good series. Usually it takes a book before I can get into it, but this one drew me in right away. I already feel like I’m part of the story. Yvonne's bored with her life & her business in Boston. She had done the same job for security to raise Ian & send him to college. Her son, Ian is now a lawyer & on his own taking care of himself. She wants a change of pace. She tired of the same ole thing all the time. So, she closes her business & decides to go to Diamond Cove where she came to the Murder Mystery Theater with her grandfather when she was young. The main characters as well as the cast of supporting characters are very interesting & have all fitted right in. It has a lot of mystery, unsolved disappearance, romance, heartache and town gossip that can causing a lot of problems for Lance & everyone involved. It’s very interesting so far, although there is a lot of repetition of what’s going on. I got a feeling it’s going to be quite a ride!
I received a free ARC book & I am leaving my own review in my own words without any influence of the author. Fasten your seat belts. I think this is going to be quite a ride.
Yvonne's bored with her life and her business in Boston and her son Ian is now a lawyer. She wants a change. So, she closes her business and decides to do something else. "What does she really like?" Ahh!!!! "Diamond Cove" where her Grandfather used to take her to the spooky Dinner Theater. Well get ready for the ride....
This is an advanced reader copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the series opener of what promises to be a really good one. It is already pulling on the heartstrings with the main characters as well as the cast of supporting characters. It has a bit of it all so far, mystery, unsolved disappearances, romance, heartache and town gossip that can cause torment. This is not a standalone book and ends with a cliffhanger. I received an ARC and I am leaving my own thoughts without the influence of the author.
Great beginning to a wonderful new series. I enjoyed it. The author does a wonderful job in development and description of characters. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.
