We Bite Back is a charity anthology featuring pieces by 2SLGBTQIA+ writers and artists, and 100% of all proceeds benefit Human Rights Campaign.
While the anthology is horror-centric, it is also an ode to queer joy, anger, and passion in a world that doesn’t always want to protect us -and would rather we remain invisible and compliant…or erase us altogether.
This anthology is a direct response to the increasing hostility and danger towards the queer community, and a clear message that we will not be silenced, we exist, and we are HERE TO STAY.
Featuring pieces by:
Carolanna Lisonbee, Lennox Rex, Ju Collins, Sarah Laudenbach, Darrell Z. Grizzle, H.S. Wolfe, River Gardner, Jude Deluca, Enoli Lee, M. Lopes da Silva, Nick Aucoin, Drew Huff, V.S. Holmes, Alice Paige, H. Everend, Allister Nelson, Lauren Carter, TK Jameson, Victoria Wraight, Kay Hanifen, Evan Benner, Lazarus Klein, Jennifer Frederick, Nick Dunkenstein, & anonymous authors.
this was an amazing anthology full of talented authors and artists!!
It’s hard to choose favorites but i think mine are Let Us Prey by Nick Aucoin and One Of The Good Ones by Drew Huff!!
Let Us Prey was incredible i want a whole series around them! And One Of The Good Ones made me feel like i was watching an episode of black mirror and the handmaids tale combined, literal chills.
I also enjoyed Eat The Summer Cannibals by Sarah Laudenbach, i wasn’t expecting to enjoy an essay but i did!!! It was so good.
Ephriam by Darrell Z Grizzle was also so incredible i want a whole novel out of it!!!
A Magnolia Dies by HS Wolfe is *chefs kiss*!!!! I always heavily enjoy their work and this one did not disappoint at ALL!!
A Deathly Melody by Lauren Carter reminded me of Hannibal and The Perfection!! I loved the vibes so much
And So He Bloomed by TK Jameson made me think of that couple in The Last Of Us!! Sad and sweet :,)
Inexplicit by Evan Benner had such a cute and hopeful ending!!
And of course i loved all of the art! Like Born This Way by Lazarus Klein! They were all stunning in their own way!
Thank you to all of the authors, if i didn’t mention your story, art or poem just know that i loved them all!!!!
It was such an incredible honor to bring together so many diverse voices and artists as the editor of this anthology. I am so proud of the impact the anthology has already had, and I hope that it brings hope to our queer community during these extremely uncertain and scary times.
