Novia knows the universe isn’t kind or just, but a Hissa warrior named Miran makes her want to believe in happy endings.
Sold to be an exotic attraction on a traveling entertainment ship, Novia Null grew up among other carnival workers. Even though she is a slave owned by the ship, she was cared for by her fellow acts and even considers a few to be her family. When several strangers show up to buy her, she’s prepared with an escape plan. There’s no way she or her “family” will let her be sold. What she doesn’t expect is for these strangers to keep chasing her. One of them proves to be more determined and resourceful than the rest. This Hissa named Miran might manage to catch her, but there’s no way he’ll be able to keep her. She’s much too cunning for him, or anyone, to hold her for long. Unless she wants to stay captured. The more time she spends around Miran, the more she questions the merits of escaping.
An excellent end to the series. How Rye dreamed up this universe is beyond me but I am so glad her fertile mind produced this! In this last installment the Hissa warriors learn to appreciate the decanter humans for the marvelous creatures they are. This particular human is an escape artist as well as an acrobat! I know I will be reading this series again in the future.
This book is the crowning glory in the Hissa Warriors series. It has adventure, suspense, an incredibly talented heroine, romance, lightheartedness, and a playful element. Though I could cry my eyes out, that this is the last book in the series, it is an awesome ending. Kudos!
I love this entire series. And this book is exceptionally good. The author did an exceptional job weaving the stories together creating a rich and exciting world filled with charming characters and an exciting plot.
A fantastic end to a great series! The focus of the series is always on healing, agency, and the "found family" aspect of the Hissa, and the final installment doesn't disappoint. It’s spicy, sweet, and I love the idea that no matter how far you run, the right person will be there to catch you.
These Hissa warriors always think they know best. Nova has no desire to be caught and can't believe the life Miran is trying to sell her. She continues to remind them all that the decanted humans know and can do lots.
Spicy, male female, 3rd person dual point of view, paranormal romance. The characters in this were so much fun! The chemistry was fantastic, and the female main character kept everyone on their toes. The humor and heart were on point. This was a fantastic, perfect length, cozy read.
Nova is a performer in a circus. Her act is as a wild feral venomous woman. This is how Miran first meets her. She does not believe he and his two buddies are actually rescuing her. She gives them a merry chase. Miran dose not give up on her. Ever! Enjoy
Sadly this is the ending of a wonderful series, it was wonderful watching how everyone evolves, how the story goes back and forth between disasters and rescues and everyone gets their HEA at the end
