Ayla Pepper knows the rules of the work hard, stay professional, and always beat the competition– especially when that competition is Callum Kirkmeyer. Ayla has no time for Callum, the charming, infuriating jokester who seems to delight in pushing her buttons whenever their paths cross.

Red Pepper Heating and Cooling and Kirkmeyer Heating and Air have been rivals for as long as she can remember, but the feud is more than business; it’s personal. The decades-old grudge started long before they were born, but Ayla’s loyalty to her father makes her all too eager to carry on the family feud.

But when a work conference in Texas leaves Ayla stranded without a hotel room, Callum offers a solution that has her questioning her share his room. One room. One bed. Forced to share a space, Ayla starts to see there’s more to Callum than his infuriating smirk and smack talk. Can she trust her growing feelings for the man she’s supposed to hate? Is their connection the beginning of a truce, or just the next chapter in a family feud that’s destined to go up in flames?

Callum is an Interracial Rom-Com featuring a Plus-size MC.

it was cute then the constant rejection and second guessing that Ayla was doing started to get annoying.

This delightful rom-com delivers a fresh, funny take on the classic enemies-to-lovers and only-one-bed tropes.

Ayla and Callum have been at odds practically since birth, thanks to a family feud older than either of them. Ayla is fierce, loyal, and ready to throw down to defend her family's legacy. Callum? Well, he’s a walking heartthrob with an “irritating” smirk and just the right mix of wit and grit. When a work trip gone wrong leaves them stuck sharing a hotel room, expect all the heat and tension.

Their banter is fast, flirty, and entertaining. I couldn't stop smiling at their back-and-forth, and the chemistry was soo good. I loved that Ayla is a Black fat-positive heroine who is smart, confident, and completely irresistible in her own right.

The romance? Sweet.
The spice? Hitting.
The story? A perfect balance of emotion and fun.

“Callum” is a feel-good celebration of love, hope, and finding someone who had been there all along—the kind of book that leaves you with warmth and laughter.

Lanee Lane does it again!

Anytime I read a book by Lanee it’s amazing and I literally cannot wait until she releases another book. Her characters are always funny and they’re so real and relatable. Callum was just so amazing. It was funny,it was entertaining, the romance was great, the spice was on point and the story was just so great. The enemies to lovers and only one bed trope was given a breath of fresh air with this story. It’s so easy to fall in love with Callum and Ayla and be so excited to see how their story develops. I love all the banter and playfulness and just overall great time that this book was I highly recommend this book for anyone that just loves a great story and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

oh Ayla!

Ayla needed to get a grip! I wanted to shake her lol like how many signs did you need to see that Callum has fallen for you! This was an enemies to lovers where Ayla was simply following in her father’s footsteps by keeping a family feud going that had nothing to do with her but sometimes being a daddy’s girl blind you from making sound decisions. Glad she got some sense, her and her dad!

This was such a fun and fast read!!!!! I enjoyed their dynamic and the building of the relationship between them. I am truly enjoyed Callum Kirkmeyer's wit and his consistency. Once he set his mind on something, he had to see it through and I appreciated that about him!! Awesome character!!

Slow but good

This is a rather slow read. A lot of details for a slice of life romance. But it is good. You will enjoy how Callum gets Ayva to let go. I also like how Callum won over the father. I wish there were some more spicy scenes.

An excellent read. I haven’t read a book that made me feel this good in a long time. I highly recommend. I’m hoping all the brothers get their own story. Well done Lanee Lane. Well done.

3.5 rounded down

Nice story, easy to read. Not too much back and forth. I appreciate that there was no 3rd act break up and that we actually got to see the relationship build.
