I really enjoyed reading this book. As someone who has been diagnosed with BPD, and still doesn’t understand everything about it and myself involving BPD, this book really helped me to understand a little bit more about myself.

Some of the things that were addressed in the book really hit home for me and also made me think about the people around me and their perspectives.

This book gave me some insight on things that I need help with that I didn’t know I needed. Im going to be talking to my therapist about some of these.

I highly recommend reading this book and sharing it if you or anyone you know has BPD. It’s very insightful and I definitely think by sharing this with the people in my life, it will help us create a better future moving forward in our relationships!

is this book for you?

I’m finally free from an abusive/toxic relationship with someone who had BPD, and I’m seeking out resources to heal myself and also understand what they might have been dealing with. If I read this prior to my relationship, or even in the beginning before it became all about coercion/control, I may have been a better partner, or atleast I could’ve had some tools to exit with strength and not come back over and over again. Reading this after the fact though, it’s almost sickening to read each step of what to do, how to present body language, and how to speak without triggering them. This might be better for parents, friends, and partners of BPD who are not being abused. It takes alot of love, care, and patience to integrate these things into your life for someone, when in reality the person with bpd needs to take accountability for their behaviors. It might not be their fault, they may not mean what they said or did, or how they treat people, but they do have the power to try to do better. Whether that’s being more mindful, seeking treatments and therapy, etc, it can be done.

As someone with BPD myself, parts of this book were informative, and I enjoyed reading it. Other parts of the book I considered grossly inaccurate. For the work put into this book and it's intent I rate this book 3 stars.
