Enchanted Heart was definitely something different. First of all, it takes place in Las Vegas! Now, that's something you don't see everyday. I am a huge fan of CSI Las Vegas, so it's only natural that I love Las Vegas too. I was really excited to read a book taking place there. Seeing all the casinos and gambling. So, maybe it was because of my very high exectations that this book didn't really make me fall in love with it.

This is the story of Cassie, who decides for the first time to break the rules and spend New Year's/Her 18th Birthday in Vegas with her friends. But once she steps foot inside Vegas her life is starting to change. She meets a hot guy that she has this crazy attraction for, people are being weird around her, even try to abduct her. But instead of getting kidnapped she is saved by the gorgeous guy and her parents are alerted. Cassie thinks this will be the end of it, and that she will end up grounded for life but instead the truth of her birth is reveales. Cassie finds a new home in Vegas between the four ruling families and she is to be one of their heirs, but not before she prooves her worth and of course manages to stay alive until her 21st birthday.

Let me begin by saying that I loved the whole concept. Four ruling families, the Hearts, Spades, Diamonds and Clubs. It was really amusing and I loved their world. Also there was a mythology element intertwined with the whole story that made everything even more interesting. But unfortunately, we are kind of dropped in the middle of everything, and it is totally confusing. I struggled to understand how everything worked, from the structure of the families and Midas to the Shadows, a.k.a. the bad guys. It was just a bit too much for me. Still it kept me going.

Thankfully Cassie was a pretty descent MC. Can't say I connected with her but at least she didn't bug me. And A.J. was a good love interest, even though it was insta-love. Also, besides the BFF, Malory, every secondary character was kind of good. Also, this book had a lot going on. There was never really a dull moment. There was a lot of running for your life, a lot of action, and family drama. It was very entertaining.

All in all, I liked it but didn't love it. It was a very fast paced read, with a unique setting and a great group of characters. It would probably appeal to lovers of mythology books. However, I want my paranormal powers more flushy, like flame throwing, which this book didn't really have.

~JERZIE’S REVIEW~

Rich, vivid, and imaginative. Enchanting Hearts is a great YA read filled with romance, suspense and fantasy, I couldn’t put it down. Ms. Ruiz also adds an element of mythology that only enhances this unique story.

Cassandra (Cassie) Vera is your typical teenager, until one night while celebrating her 18th birthday with her friends, everything changes. It was supposed to be a quick trip to Las Vegas, a night of fun, what's the worst that could happen, right? Wrong! The ramifications of one night of rebellion leaves life altering consequences.

When tragedy strikes Cassie, the world she thought she knew gets a whole lot more complicated.

Las Vegas has a secret society of four families (called Suits) that runs the gaming industry and helps protect innocent humans from the evil soul sucking Shadows. The Suits consist of the House of Hearts, Clubs, Spades, and Diamonds. (I love that Ms. Ruiz uses playing card references for the prominent families, what an original idea).

“We protect the tourists from the people who would love nothing more than to steal everything they possess. Their very souls, especially.”

Cassie discovers that her birth mother who abandoned her at birth, is actually the Queen of Hearts and she has a key part to play. It’s not everyday you find out your part royalty. As with any secret society, there are rules and tests she must pass before she can be fully accepted. One rule in particular, she must stay in Vegas until her 21st birthday. Then and only then, can she decide her fate, that is, if she can stay alive long enough…

I believe it did mention that this was a romance novel. Enter in AJ with the piercing blue eyes and swagger like no other, that leaves Cassie all twisted up. The perv in me wanted a bit more “passion” and I had to remind myself a few times that this was a YA story when certain situations got a little steamy and then cut short. The author definitely leaves fans hoping for more, in a good way!

AJ has his secrets as well. Cassie doesn't know who to trust. Not only are the Shadows gunning for Cassie but also people on the inside, want her dead.

“The Shadows. They are the stealers of dreams, the traders of cash for homes of possibilities.”

What’s a girl like Cassie to do? Fight back with everything she’s got!

Cassie’s parents warned her to stay away from Vegas but in an act of defiance she throws caution to the wind and heads to the city of sin with her friend Malory. But upon her arrival strange things start to happen, starting with a very angry bell boy who tells her that her friends aren’t what they appear to be. Things only get stranger and stranger, people are looking at her in disdain, other people are starting to chase her, talk about powers….what is going on and who can she trust?

I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading but I found myself pleasantly surprised. The story is based on a deck of playing cards, where every suit has a house with extraordinary powers. Clubs, Diamonds, Spades and Hearts, together they pretty much rule Vegas and function as protection for the normal and naïve. Evil is lurking around every corner preying on these naïve people, luring them to gamble away more than their money or assets.

And Cassie finds herself right in the middle of this powerful game between good and evil.

“Enchanted Heart” has a unique concept and is also written in a unique style. It does have a rather fast pace which may take some getting used to, I know I had to. I also had to get used to the characters I met, especially in the beginning where everyone seems to look down at Cassie.

The strongest aspect in this book is that you, together with Cassie never truly get what’s going on. Even when you’re right in the middle of the action, you’re still left wondering. No worries though, throughout the story there are hints towards the bigger picture but it still leaves you with a lot of questions. Which will hopefully be answered in the next books in the series.

Overall speaking I think this is a cleverly written start of the series, where fantasy, mystery and mythology mixes in well to create a story worthy of Sin City.

What a fun read! Enchanted Hearts is refreshing, something new and I love the way the author mixes mythology with Vegas. Truly original! Ruiz has an incredible ability to give each character a distinct voice. Honestly, she's on my I'd-read-anything-the-woman-writes list.

**I received a copy, as part of the blog tour, in exchange for an honest review**

Initial Thoughts: I love books with mythology - any kind - and this book was no different. It was Greek mythology was a twist and I was so impressed with it! There was a lot of action from the start and the story was executed very well.

The Characters & Story: Cassandra (Cassie) was a very sweet and caring person who could also be stubborn and outspoken when need be. The book starts off with her going to visit her friend in Vegas which also happens to be the city her parents have forbidden her to go to. But really wanting to see her friend goes without them knowing. Her first step (literally) into Vegas already causes weird things to happen to her and the city. A random earthquake? Nope, it was a Cassie-came-to-Vegas-earthquake. There was a reason she was supposed to listen to her parents, but I guess when it comes to paranormal stuff, characters just never see it coming! Anyways, things kind of just go downhill for Cassie. I mean the only good things that happens in the beginning at all is that she meets the fabulous A.J., everything else was not so good news.

Remember I said this book is Greek mythology with a twist? Well that twist is has to do with the fact that there are four royal families - hearts, club, diamonds, and spades - and they all run parts of Vegas as well as each house has a unique gift. The whole set up is like a deck of cards. Cassie learns this basic information in the beginning after going to a club with her friends (and meeting A.J. in the process!). At the club people try to take her and A.J. helps her escape and brings her to his grandfather Midas - yes, the guy with the golden touch - who caused many, many problems. It takes awhile for Cassie to learn and discover everything that is going on in the city plus all the many problems and conflicts that arise. But I must say that the highlight of the story, besides the mythology and the story, is A.J. (read next section!).

The Romance: So A.J. is a sweet and protective guy and those kinds are the best! How he interacted with Cassie and vice versa was just sweet and genuine! They were so funny and adorable. I just loved reading about them and seeing them fall in love even with everything going on and all the sacrifices they were willing to make for others and each other.

End Thoughts: This was a great book. I'm so excited to see how it will continue because I think the next one will be even better and this book was great to start off with! The characters were great and so was the concept. There were times the world building was confusing but everything worked out in the end. 4.5 stars!

**This book was given to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

I really REALLY loved this book. And I really didn't expect to love it as much as I did! Such an original concept. Very fun characters, dialogue, world building, and romantic times.

Enchanted Heart is about a young girl named Cassandra Vera. She sneaks off to Las Vegas because her best friend recently moved there. Her parents are unaware of her plans and while she's in Vegas, she meets some new faces and discovers a new world that not only involves her, but she's at the center of it.

Let me just say, this story was so good! So mysterious, so much fun! I would like to say that it was action-packed because that's what it felt like, but there was really no "action" in it. It was just a very fast-paced read.

Throughout the entire book, Ruiz is dropping clues like breadcrumbs regarding what's going on and who/what/why/how everyone is. Cassie, our main character, is never fully let in on what she is a part of, which was extremely frustrating, but also very rewarding at the same time. I think this is a smart move, especially from a reading perspective. You find out what's happening with Cassie at the same time she does. The reader knows nothing ahead of time.

I'm not going to go into detail about the world, because I think it's something the reader needs to experience on their own. But I will say that it's a unique world. Ruiz does a great job of developing the world, but by the end of the book, it's quite obvious that she's only scratched the surface. There's so much more to be revealed. And it's a great setup for the rest of the books in the series.

Characters. These were so good characters. Cassie was very enjoyable. She was smart, loyal, brave but extremely stubborn. Usually that stubbornness would bother me in a character, but Cassie made it endearing for me. You quickly realize the type of person that she is and you either love that about her or you hate it. I am one of the people who loved it. She was a breath of fresh air for me. Her love interest, A.J? Can I have a slice of him, please? He was a great character as well. They fed off of each other's teasing and flirting. And they both developed in a way that was so believeable to me.

The supporting characters where just as great, even the ones that annoyed me to NO end -- Malory. Olivia was fun, Isaac intrigued me, EVERYONE just felt necessary to me throughout this book. And that's hard to do.

Overall, I really loved this book. Ruiz did a great job of making me care about who these characters were and what they were all going through. I eagerly await the next installment!

Mindy Ruiz’s debut YA novel ENCHANTED HEART is a wonderful mixture of suspense, romance, and mythological mystery.
Set in Las Vegas, the main character Cassandra Vera stumbles into more trouble than she thought Sin City could offer. One step into the bright lights and she unlocks a life she never knew existed. She is daughter to the Queen of Hearts--a royal in the incredibly real and powerful network of the Suits.
As an avid poker player, the concept is what initially hooked me. Ruiz has taken something as universal as a deck of playing cards and given it a mythological makeover. Each suit has a house and together, the house of Spades, Diamonds, Hearts, and Clubs, run Vegas and protect innocent bystanders from The Shadows--cold creatures hell bent on manipulating tourists to wager more than their income in games with ultimate stakes. Add in a few God’s like Dionysus, Midas, and Poseidon, and it makes for one incredibly fresh take on the paranormal genre.
After the concept snagged my attention, the setting reeled me in. Ruiz takes the wow-factor of Vegas and extends it, combining real life structures with mythological enhancements. Her descriptions are so vivid, readers will be tempted to seek out these fantastical additions the next time they visit Sin City.
The chemistry between male swoon-worthy lead A.J and Cassie is electric. They have some serious odds stacked against them, but they can’t deny their attraction, and between life-threatening stakes and grief stricken emotions, the two find common ground.
Ruiz does an amazing job of building a world where reality mixes with just enough supernatural elements to make readers believe it could really exist. Throw in characters enduring real life traumas right next to paranormal consequences and readers have a new set of heros to cheer for. Mystery, romance, grief, and high-stakes games where nothing is at it seems, and ENCHANTED HEART becomes a new series in the genre worth grabbing.

Mindy Ruiz’s debut novel is a fast paced thriller, full of swoontastic scenes, danger, mischief, and mayhem; all the things a girl like me wants in a novel. Add on a new twist to Greek mythology, a topic I love, and reading Enchanted Hearts was a little bit of heaven. Fun, light, and entertaining, this novel is one you don’t want to miss.

Set in Vegas, I was thrilled to be able to see the sights and hear the sounds in my minds eye as I read, something my unimaginative brain struggles to do on a regular basis, unless I’ve visited the area being discussed, which is generally few and far between. Luckily, my job sent me to Vegas a few years back, and Ruiz’s descriptions fit my memories to a tee, allowing me to almost step right onto the page with the characters—that’s how real it felt to read this novel. This added validity to the story for me, and I truly enjoyed it from start to finish.

The protagonist, Cassandra, is a very interesting character, though I’ll admit that she’s a bit of a jerk on occasion, yet she is intricate and real, an aspect that I really loved about Ruiz’s writing. All her characters are real, even Malory, one who has no saving grace in my opinion; she’s just an awful person, and I really dislike her, wanting Cassandra to turn her back and let her go… but alas, Cass is just a better person than I.

Overall, though, the characters were fun to get to know, and I loved the division of the houses. And while some events are a little unclear for me in terms of happenings and such as their fast pace and quick succession were a little over my head, or maybe I just missed a piece here or there (it happens), Enchanted Hearts really is a great read that I highly recommend, and I’m looking forward to the sequel as I’m sure some of the questions I have will be put to rest there.

OMGosh! Enchanted Heart is ah-mazing! Mindy Ruiz knocks her debut novel out of the park! Exciting and mysterious with just right amount romance, EH has quickly become one of my all-time favorite reads. Ruiz's characters are completely real and loveable. Her guys are swoon worthy and her villains most villainous. I *adore* the voicing and imagination throughout the story. The plot is unique and intriguing. I love setting in Vegas and the idea of the Houses!!! Such a cool idea. Definitely can't recommend this one highly enough! Can't wait to read the entire series!!! Well done, Ruiz, well done!

This book was super different. Which is what actually made me kinda hooked on it. I've been to Vegas and I'm not a gambler at all so it was kinda annoying with all the card references but it made it really intriguing. I just couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to the next one though!

This cover is beautiful, and it automatically drew me into the book without even reading the plot. Then I read the plot, and I was even more intrigued.

"Cloaked in the shadows of the glitz and gaudy lights of Vegas lies a power struggle centuries old. One wrong step and Cassandra could destroy the delicate web of secrets. Now an enemy she never knew existed is after her, and the one boy who may be the missing piece to the puzzle — and her heart— is the one person she can’t afford to trust."

However, I was slightly disappointed with this book. There were some things about this book that I disliked and that I really liked a lot.

What I disliked: One of my major issues with this book was that sometimes I felt like parts of the book were missing, and I was confused as to what was happening a lot of the time. I would flip back through pages to see if I missed explanations, because I was just so confused at some points of the book. There were also some grammatical errors through out the book that were annoying.

I also really didn't like any of the characters. Malory was mean, Cassie was annoying, and A.J. was kind of just bland in my opinion. I wanted to like A.J. because I knew he was supposed to be this alpha male who was totally swoon worthy, but he really wasn't. I felt like A.J. had a lot of potential to be a great love interest, but he feel flat. He did some romantic things and said some sweet stuff to Cassie, but I just couldn't connect with it. A.J. was kind of just there as hot eye candy in my opinion.

I think the issue was that Cassie and A.J.'s romance was an instant love sort of relationship. Cassie automatically trusted A.J, even though she didn't know him, at all. That seemed a bit ridiculous to me. A.J. always was touching her, holding her hand, kissing her hand. It all made me want to roll my eyes because they had known each other for about a day. A.J. had called her "princess" about two times, and then when her dad said it, she told him not to use it because she was "heart broken" over A.J....who she had just met.

What I liked: When I could understand what was going on with the Greek mythology and supernatural elements, I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. I felt like the author had a really awesome idea, but it just wasn't executed well. The world she built had a lot of parts that intrigued me. I thought it was so creative that the four ruling houses of Las Vegas were based on card suits (the Hearts, Spades, Diamonds and Clubs). I also liked that there was a lot of action in the book. I never felt like there was a dull moment in the book, which kept me entertained.

Overall, it was a decent book, mainly because of the mythology and action. Those two things are what helped me decide to give the book a 3 fangs review instead of a 2. I want to learn more about the mythology and the supernatural element to this book, because I am still a little confused. I will read the sequel because I am interested to see if things will be explained more, if characters will develop more, and if the relationships will develop more. I think this series has good potential.

I don’t know why I didn’t realize that Enchanted Heart was YA. I don’t read a lot of YA but every once in awhile one draws me in. That happened with Enchanted Heart.

The book starts with (non-rule breaking) Cassie breaking probably the most serious rule of her life (though she doesn’t know it) by stepping into Vegas with her friends. They have a fun night planned to celebrate the New Year (also Cassie’s birthday) and then she will slip off back home with no one being any wiser to where she went.

Oops.

That one decision sets off a chain of events that will completely change Cassie’s life and so the story goes.

I remember starting the book, realizing it was a YA, and by 6% feeling a little confused, I thought I will give it a bit more before I decide this isn’t for me. I remember looking down and seeing 8% and kept reading. The next time I checked I was over 50% done with the book.

It took off fast for me around the 8% mark and just kept going. It was action packed, full of things that kept me thinking and questioning, and minus one little break, I didn’t stop reading until I finished the book. The break was when I went up to the dance studio to have lunch with my daughter, I figured I could keep reading while she finished the last couple of hours of competition try outs. Alas, there were other moms who wanted to chat, so I sat there with one hand on my iPad wishing that I could open it up and keep reading. As soon as I got home, the husband took the kids out and about and I climbed into to bed to finish Cassie’s story.

I really really enjoyed it.

There were a few moments, especially towards the end where I still was confused. Things happened so fast that I caught myself going back and rereading, wondering how did they just get from point A to point B. I still don’t understand a few things but I am hoping as I read the rest of the series that I will have some aha moments as I think back to this book.

Loved the characters, Cassie is a sweet kid who is stronger than she ever knew, AJ is great hero with tons of mystery shrouding him, and I really want to dig deeper into AJ, Olivia, and Lucas’s past and see what happened in their history. Then there is Gia, who we met a little in Enchanted Heart, she definitely is going to have a role coming up in a future book.

I definitely will be picking up the rest of The Game Of Hearts series. I want to see where this is going.

Thank you so much for my copy of Enchanted Heart!

Enchanted Heart is the first book in a new paranormal/mythology series Game of Hearts. I think the concept of the book is fascinating. I loved the world that Mindy Ruiz dreamed up. And I really enjoyed Cassie as well. But the overall story was very confusing and at times frustratingly so. I understand it all added to the mysterious atmosphere, but it was almost too much. It felt like we were just dropped into the middle of a story, and into a world that we knew nothing about. So much so, I had to check on goodreads to make sure that is was the first book in a series, instead of a later one.

A lot of stuff happens very quickly in Exchanted Heart. Cassie goes to Las Vegas for new years/her birthday and it seems like overnight everything about her life changed and she (we, really) was left in the dark about most of it. She got little bits of explanation, but I still had so many more questions. What we do find out seems really cool. I loved that the whole Las Vegas operation centers around Midas and 4 royal families- The Hearts, Spades, Clubs and Diamonds. There are even lesser nobles in the families that are numbered. It is a deck of cards. What a cool idea. It was this concept that kept me reading.

Cassie is a great main character. Spunky and sassy. She has a smart mouth on her, and sometimes it gets her into trouble. It is funny because I get the feeling that she was pretty much the "good girl" before she get to Las Vegas, but here she has no problem speaking up for herself. She is quite spirited. I really enjoyed her and AJ. I just wanted her to plant herself down and demand more of the answers up front. I know I would have. She was kept in the dark for so long.

Overall, Enchanted Heart is a very cool concept for the start of the series. I think the next book is going to be even better than this one because hopefully it won't be as frustratingly confusing. There is still a lot that we don't know, but at least we kind of have our bearings in the world now. I loved Cassie and I loved the idea of the deck of cards, but the overall story I only liked, but did not love. The story line was at times jarring and too confusing for me to jump from like to love, but maybe the next book will make that leap for me.

One of my favorite parts about this book is that I had no idea what to expect. It was a new concept and a new world to explore. This story was a great set up for a series to come, giving the reader insight into a Vegas the world has never known! It was a unique blend of myths I have heard many times, mixed with the allure of Vegas and the concept of the four suits within a deck of cards meaning so much more. Enchanted Hearts was well paced in how they portray the setting and events to the reader, with an organic and natural flow. The characters were believable and age appropriate. Cassandra was a girl, on the verge of becoming a woman, who just wanted to do something different and exciting for her birthday, yet she could never know that by breaking the rules, she would trigger a series of events that would endanger her life and the lives of those she loves most. It was both heart breaking and sweet to watch her grow into an adult. The situations surrounding her transformation were sad yet she learned to press through the sadness and pain to find out who she was and what she was destined to do. A.J. was one character that makes you wonder for a good portion of the story. Does he truly care for her or are his actions the result of something more that Cassandra was unaware of? Mindy Ruiz does an incredible job of fusing the drama and life of a high school girl into the world of a supernatural Vegas, in a way that is believable and realistic. She may be more than a normal girl, but she still had high school drama and petty girl battles to fight. The world of Vegas and the struggle of the 4 houses is fascinating. The concept of each house corresponding with a suit in a deck of cards is a brilliant stage for this story. The myth of Midas and the Greek gods intertwined makes for an interesting weave of old and new ideas. Seeing the constant tug and pull of the good versus evil, and the confusion of who falls on which side, as well as the threat of the Shadows, was so much fun to process through. I cannot wait to see what Mindy has in store for Cassandra, A.J. and the rest of the royal court!

Enchanted Heart started off like a normal young adult novel, teenagers hitting the bright lights of Las Vegas to celebrate New Year and a birthday but for our main character Cassandra "Cassie" Vera things are about to get out of hand and not in the drunken way she was hoping for.

Cassie is not supposed to be in Vegas but she is there to celebrate the New Year in style and her friends have even found her a hot guy to keep her company - A.J. but her night out starts to go wrong when she is set upon in her hotel room by a hooded man and from then on in she discovers her life is not what she thinks it is. Her world is about to fall apart and the people closest to her are going to suffer, Las Vegas is a city she should never have come to.

I really don't want to spoil this book for you as there is lots going on that you need to read for yourself but what I will tell you that Vegas is ruled by families that go back a long way and they are not just any ordinary families, Cassie finds out she has something to do with them but because of who she is not everyone is happy to see her as she found out on New Year's Eve.

Enchanted Heart is a great story. the whole setting of Las Vegas is just perfect and it is described vividly you can see the neon lights blazing from the pages, Cassie is a feisty character and when she experiences the worst you do feel emotion for her, she is not a one dimensional boring character, the rest of the supporting characters are great too, some books can have far too many names for you to keep track of but this has the perfect amount so you don't get bogged down with different characters.

This is the start of a series and I think it shows amazing promise, if you like your books with twists, turns and romance then this is for you!

Enchanted Heart is awarded 4 out of 5

Enchanted Heart came as a surprise to me. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, but what I got was a sassy protagonist and all-out action. Cassandra is your classic good girl: she follows the rules, she doesn’t talk back (much), and she’s responsible. However, when she breaks the most sacred—and perhaps most ridiculous rule in her eyes—by stepping foot in Las Vegas, her whole world as she knows it changes in an instant.

Cassie was a really fun character to read. Despite her whole world going up in flames, Cassie’s got spunk and charisma. You can tell what kind of person someone is by the way they handle difficult situations, and Cassie’s actions in the aftermath of the “big revelation” speak volume. Instead of throwing a hissy fit (like I would’ve probably done) she sucks it up and goes along with her parents’ wishes—even if it kills her. Furthermore, she carries a certain strength that has nothing to do with her “destiny” and that made me like her all the much more.

The only thing that I just couldn’t get behind on was the insta-romance. In the beginning AJ comes off as mysterious and charming, and I could certainly see the appeal. However, things between AJ and Cassie get way too serious, way too fast. Their relationship had so much potential to grow slowly and deeply, and unfortunately, that was not the case with these two.

Ruiz’s use of the Houses was certainly a unique twist to the fantasy genre I wasn’t expecting, and she managed to pull it off quite nicely. Action-packed and with dangerous turns at every corner, Enchanted Heart was a thrilling read, filled with twists and turns.

I feel confused and conflicted about the story. The writing is meh, definitely needs an editing overhaul. Story flow and consistency is just off, plus grammar mistakes all over (I highlighted many of them in my kindle copy).
It could be so much better. That's the sad part. The story idea actually seems interesting, it just seems to be executed wrongly. With just a detailed editor, it would be so much better.
Information just seems to be splattered everywhere but yet no where at the same time. You're basically lost about what's going on exactly for most of it in the beginning because no one explains anything. Then there's the main character who seems pretty wimpy to me. She instantly forgives the guy that has lied to her and lied to her almost instantly and they're all over each other and don't even really know each other. I would have been so much more sarcastic, "spunky", and pissed off at him. I probably would have smacked him at a point. I feel like the characters actually acted more like...14/15 year olds instead of 18 year olds.

Ista-love at it's "best" here. Their relationship just isn't there for the readers to grasp onto and hold. There is no foundation for the relationship really. We don't get to know the characters very well, their relationships, or anything. We really aren't part of this story at all, and you don't get really attached to the characters. Time jumps a lot in the book, too. For two weeks she was asleep after an accident.

This book is like a recipe for a chocolate cake without any measurements

Sounds yummy, but it's missing something kinda essential!

Great concept, it was really rather original in fact and the there were a number of really good characters as well. The storyline was well plotted and there was rarely a dull moment, but there was an epic fail when it came to editing.

Aside for extra random words scattered throughout this book had some serious flow issues.

There were a number of scenes that were poorly structured, missing half the information that made me think a couple of times that two pages had stuck together and I'd skipped something until I remembered I was reading on a Kindle....

The other issue was that you could tell the author had spent a lot of time planning this book beforehand but the problem I think was, when she came to wrighting it I think she had the story formed so well that she maybe loss track of what was in her head and what she'd written so far. This meant that information was inferred that you were presumed to have already been told, when you hadn't.

So you ended up missing chunks of info here there and everywhere which was particularly annoying because otherwise this would have been a really, really good book!

Review
It's New's Year Eve you're in Sin City plus and it's your birthday, but just because you're the birthday girl doesn't mean you can break the rules and Cassandra Vera just broke the biggest one of all and the only rule of all.

Don't ever go to Vegas . . .

Cassie never thought that by entering Vegas, her whole life will change in a blink of an eye

The Sin city deals with Centuries of power struggles, where the houses of Clubs, Diamonds, Spades, Hearts and Midas are all on gambling strike. But now that Cassandra has step foot into Vegas, the bets are off or at less that what each of the houses are hoping.

Can Cassandra understand what's at sakes or will she simply refused to acknowledge that she is part of this power struggle

How much are you willing to gamble?

I love love Enchanted Heart!!! I can't possibly give this one just a 5 Tails Up, it's get my PURR FEST Review where everything was just PURRFECT! MEOW!

I completely got into this and have already pre-ordered the next book.

I like the characters, the supporting characters are also worthy. I like the scenario that is created and the way that it has been infused to the contemporary world.

The idea is pretty novel. The story is sensitive and likable, with all the regular traits there, romance, high school, parental angst. There are a couple of things which don't really pan out with any credibility, the most notable being the close parent figures which are apparently world famous movie star characters. You really telling me that they have loads of time to spend with their kids? I think not.

This is definitely a book that fits into the 0.99c bargain basement.
I'm looking forward to the next novel which is due out in February 2015.

Fascinating! This starts out fairly simple; Cassandra finally decides to break the rules with a road trip to Vegas for her birthday. But she finds a lot more than drinking and gambling waiting for her there. Her world gets completely flipped as she realizes she may be part of huge underground world centered in Vegas. She finds truths that she never wanted to know and unbelievable possibilities in her future. And to keep things complicated and frustrating, there’s a gorgeous bad-boy that she knows she shouldn't trust regardless of how persuasive he can be. I loved every exciting minute of this book! It’s such a unique twist of different paranormal and mythical worlds! I am absolutely addicted and anxiously waiting for more!

Oh my gosh, I didn't understand any of this book. I don't know how I finished it. Nothing was explained and I kept feeling like I missed pages or a whole book! The writer has potential but all the grammatical & spelling errors & the massive holes in the story put this down to 1 star.

I like the original plot line, although I hope the main character Cassie starts being less dependent on certain people like A.J. I understand she is finishing highschool but hopefully she wont be so wishy as she gets older :) all in all good book!

this book was all over the place and it just didn't make any sense. I kept reading thinking it would all fall into place somehow, but got to the end and it still didn't, sorry I wasted several hours on it..

Original and Amazing

I really liked this story and how you took the idea of people representing the cards is really interesting and original. Before now there was only one Queen of Hearts, the one in Wonderland. Now each card has Royalty and I love it.
