Ugly, Sinister: Beautiful, Violent Duet

Rate this book
Book 2 of the Beautiful, Violent Duet. Book 1 should be read before Ugly, Sinister.
Rigger
I always keep an extra bullet in the chamber for unexpected events because I learned two valuable lessons growing one, keep those you love close. And two … kill those who hurt them.

Tove is not a toy.
She is not a game to be played.
She's my heart and f*cking soul.
And I’ll be damned if I let anyone hurt her.

Retribution will come down like an iron fist to those who deserve it.
I’ll make sure their blood is shed.
And I’ll be the one to save the woman who owns my heart.
Even if it destroys me.

I will read every book this author writes because DAMN!
I am a dark romance reader normally so I wasn't sure how I would feel about this originally but I was HOOKED from the first one and the second one cranked it up! New characters. More backstory. Deeper emotional pitfalls and a serious push and pull that I was begging wouldn't turn into a why choose because it wouldn't have done these characters justice. I kept trying to guess the end and NEVER could, which I love in a book. The characters came from hard pasts and never gave up. You got to watch them grow and make hard choices in a world where it didn't seem they had many.
I would love love LOVE more books from this world and an extended epilogue into the next few years.

SPOILERS**
I cannot BELIEVE that Malice was a woman, first of all. The dark and deception that covered this world seemed to do a good job of keeping characters in the dark until it was time to reveal their part, which always fit in so well. Hatter deserves ALL the things, and I would really want to read his story because I need to know WHY he protected Rigger so much. There's definitely more there.
I was about to be big mad if Tove ended up with both Rigger and Ben but I also wanted to throat punch each of them several times. Rigger never let her go and was always there for her but the flare ups and fights just felt so real, I really enjoyed their relationship and was so happy they ended up together because they fit so well, but I wouldn't have put it past the book to have those two have the inner dialogue and her still end up with Ben. I was RIVITED. I had expected Ben to either be killed or be the leader of the organization, and he still carries a lot of anger thinking Tove and Rigger should have been able to find him and tell him about Bowie before she was a whole 10 months old. I'd like more story for that in between time because I feel like a Ben/Greer spin off with more info about what happened in that time with Tove and Rigger would be AMAZING!.
