The six-month penalty has ended, and my life at the Academy began. It is now time to establish my Demonic Sect, recruit members, and make a name for myself.
At least, that is how it should have been.
Hostile upperclassmen, mysterious professors, stuck-up nobles, and a demonic invasion that I know will hit the academy, all loom over me. As do the vampire, werewolf, and phoenix girls around me.
Hopes for learning and growth rapidly transform into stealth and survival as I hide from Holy Knights pursuing a 'demon' in the academy, and demons hunt for whoever is using their power.
The academy’s peace is destined to shatter, and I may have to risk my dark energy being revealed to protect it the best I can.
Thankfully, I am not alone. With loyal allies by my side and the three special women I have become close to, we can face all adversities and come up ahead. Becoming stronger is certainly not easy. But there is one truth I have long since understood after all my adventures in this new world.
It's a good book and fun story. The only thing I didn't like was the intense drama. The author likes to artificially build up the drama factor period having the MC conveniently. Not telling his people things they should know ahead of time. It just seemed a bit contrived, and that said, the rest of the story was solid and fun..
A solid second book in the series. I’m only giving this four stars because the MC continues to make silly and stupid mistakes in my opinion. Even later on in the book, he says he has to do better. I certainly hope so. The side characters are written well, this excellent world building and the storyline is extremely interesting. Don’t know how far the story will go, but there are plenty of threads to pull on. Just stop beating your character up, you know you’re not gonna kill him, so let him kick butt. And no to the author, please stop writing him where he makes silly and stupid decisions. Will definitely read the next one. May go on Patreon to see how the next book develops, haven’t decided yet but I have to say the story definitely has my interest. another note to the author give the character some healing, buffs or capabilities, or potions. After all he just about, has everything else, including dimensional storage. Why can’t he carry healing potions in that dimensional storage. And please give him back his hand.
There was some essence of 'ant facing against a boot' that I didn't appreciate. Especially after the nerfing at the end of novel 1. There was also at least one instance of convenient MC stupidity; where he failed to see something he normally would, with reason and opportunity to see it. He was blindsided.
The biggest hit, however, was the comeback of the 'ex machina' skill. I almost dropped the series. I pushed on and am glad I did. Things were less contrived. Not to mention, it actually added to the plot and his growth this time. Additionally to that, our MC wasn't gimped or his growth nerfed (too much), and my irritation was soothed.
The rating is more of a 3.8, which I would normally round up to 4 save for early plot that I struggled for weeks to feel like pushing through and my initial fears and outrage being somewhat validated with the last big boss of the novel being ex machina'd.
Will he ever be strong? Or only his never-to-be future selves?
I enjoyed the books initially but it's starting to look like he's just use a cheap cop out power to overcome ordeals. I know this is a power fantasy and dude will just end up OP but do the struggles even matter when hes has a power that brings a 15 year version of himself into his body?
Then all of the sudden the dean randomly just throws herself at him? barely any build up except minor flirting, I feel like there should be deeper nuisance to your dean throwing herself at you. Sure you've surprised her twice with strong powers but she knows jack shit about him and he shows demonic and angelic like powers. Why is she coming onto him? might be explained in later books but in the moment it just seemed like we wanted more women involved just because.

Overall ive really enjoyed this series so far. Its been a great slow burn. I dont like harem series where the mc is banging someone by page 50. I still think the author tries too hard to make mc look inexperienced which is crazy since hes kind of lived a few lives already. I keep reading that the mc is op but he really isnt, not in the way where I can enjoy it anyway. Male va still says "strength" in a peculiar way. The female va sounds hollow. Her voice is nice and enjoy hearing women sound like women when reading but there were a few time where the tone was off. Biggest gripe is the mc. I get making him look dumb for later character growth, but damn... the constant truth dodging for everything is just annoying and makes me think less of the mc
Academy books are hit-and-miss, so this one did more of the former and less of the latter. The MC faces a lot of trials, so he's not instantly OP, but builds up enough to dominate in his weight class and punch significantly above, albeit not without consequences.
The personal relationships are developing, but there's a certain villain who really needs to die early in book 3. I'll echo another reviewer who questioned the harem building, but I'm not as bent about the missing sex as he was. The MC should just accept that he's building a harem as the core of his "cult" and give the girls what they want. He's half way there, so hopefully it doesn't take too long.
I give it a four because it's technically an improvement over the first. Story and plot is present and there are no spelling and little grammar issues. I'd say if you're into the specific tropes being utilized here, academy, isekai'd with existing knowledge, cultivation. There is litrpg, but doesn't feel fleshed out very well. Then if you've made it this far, it's probably safe to say you can binge the rest. There is angst here as well, but it's not well handled, enough to make it not feel like the girls just become LI's.
It's fine for what it is, op mc wish fulfillment. Manage your exceptions.
Loved the first book, and definitely worth the read. I love the concepts and world building, with the author avoiding falling into common anime tropes and an I telling main character, though he could be less dense when dealing with the developing feelings between him and his companions...
But otherwise where book one was a good start, book two was a great addition that hooks you in and doesn't let go. I really want book 3 to read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The slow build up of drama, the character development, the natural dialogue, the setting. The main character makes plans and adjusts them when circumstances change when needed. His behaviour is also in line with his personality that was introduced and stayed consistent, something not many authors in this genre are able to do. It's all very well done. A fun litrpg fantasy book. Looking forward to the next installment.
The story progressed well, and I still love all the characters. The FTB with the girls is not my favorite, but I understand some people don't care for spice. This book is still great either way, and since the relationships with the girls are more on the devoted servant side compared to an actual lover, I'll give it a pass. Our MC continues to grow, and i absolutely love his character. He's got just enough backbone without being too cocky and that's a very fine line
Honestly one of my current favorite reads. This series is becoming a great work of art. World building, leveling, cultivation. The MC continues to develop in power and character. I hope the series never ends…. Looking forward to the future of this series.
This continuation of the series is awesome! I was preparing myself for a letdown after the excellent first book in this series. Thankfully, my dark thoughts did not reach out and corrupt the magic that created this authors good work. Got carried away with this review. Ha!
Well written story and well developed magic system. I dont particularly care for the name "heavenly demon divine cult" as its a study in contradictions. I do look forward to how the MC resolves removing the life from his nemesis Victor Seraph. Also I am interested in the relationship development between the MC and his 3, no 4 women.
This book really moves the action up and develops the story nicely. We get some more characters and the plot thickens. Our MC gets more powerful and we get an epic battle in the finale Really enjoyable series and looking forward to the next instalment.
This story has a bit of everything from action to drama and intrigue I honestly can't wait for more p.s. Lillian is best girl and needs more screentime?.Pagetime?. More best wolf girl! Signed a fluffy tail addict
Really enjoyed this 2nd book. I was intrigued on the story and impatient to see what’s next! Some things were expected and many unexpected that were outstanding.
was a great story just wish the time line matched what he remembered seems like there are some more woman we need to meet and i wish then mothers would stay out of the story
So I genuinely want to give this less stars, but Amazon isn’t showing low reviews for some reason. There are so many plot holes and inconsistencies that it hurts.
The leveling system is absolute crap and makes no sense. He can kill a vampire god and only get a few levels. He can kill 2 of the “savage seven” and only get a couple levels from them. He can kill a demon general and get like 9 because he got the “last hit” and yet that’s it, even though these things are like 3x his level, that’s all he gets; HOWEVER, he can kill a bunch of frog men that he is 2x the level of and get a level from it!!!! That is south park WoW type stupidity. Let’s go grind boars in the forest till max level!!!
Also it’s been shown that leveling up heals and refills mana (qi) yet somehow he levels up 9 times but still doesn’t heal after the general is defeated, because…. Crappy plot says so….
One thing that just pissed me off, because he had “a few fights in china” he SOMEHOW KNOWS MANDARIN, which is one of the hardest languages to learn in the world, but because plot says so, he knows Mandarin Chinese simply because he did a few fights there back when he was taking shots to the head for a living….. right…..
I really want to like the story, it’s interesting; however, the author clearly has NO idea how to maintain consistency. They are just throwing out whatever crap they want to make it “cool” which, in fact, just ruins the story more. I think this is where I jump ship on this tragedy.
